I graduated from UNO in May with a Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering and soon after I began looking for an electrical engineering job. Getting your first engineering job out of college can often be very difficult because companies typically want someone who is experienced. The Beta Group was one of the many places I submitted my resume to and not soon after I received a call asking me if I wanted to come in for an interview. When I showed up to the building the staff, who was very courteous, asked me to fill out an application. After completing the app I didn’t have to wait long to be seen by one of the owners of the company. The man I interviewed with was very laid back and personal. He explained to me what the company was all about and after a series of really great interview questions, he thanked me for my time and I was on my way. A few days later I received a call from the owner offering me a position with their team. Unfortunately I didn’t end up taking the job due to it not being my specific engineering discipline (which was a misreading on my part). The owner again thanked me for my time and told me if I changed my mind to give him a call. I say all this because this was one of the few companies that saw something in me offered to give me a chance, which I very much appreciated.
