Overall a decent place to shop but not as good when it comes to doing a pawn, they tend to be extremely frugal when it comes to giving out a loan on a pawn. I have pawned several items with them on numerous occasions and I have been low-balled every time. The location on West Street is a great place to do business with, I just wish this location would step it up to have the service the other locations have.

Sara is very kind and sweet and does a wonderful job at what she does. She has been doing my taxes for a long time now and she is the only one i trust to do my taxes. I don't trust nobody else but her and will never go to anyone else to do my taxes. Not to mention their fees are way cheaper then Jackson Hewitt and H&R block. I have never had any issue's when i go in there. They have always been kind and friendly. I would recommend Sara to any of my friend's and family.

I came in to secure a loan after falling on some hard times. I was a little apprehensive at first as I'd had bad experiences with other pawn brokers before. I was immediately put at ease after talking with the owner for just a few minutes. I received a fair value for my items and was placed at ease that they actually wanted me to come back and retrieve my property. Other brokers I've dealt with set you up to lose your items so they can be resold. I was fully informed of the process, fees and how to retrieve my items. American Pawn and Gun was a real life saver, truly professional and understanding of my situation. I will definitely be a repeat customer looked like there was plenty of items I could add as well. NOTE: This review was about American Pawn...NOT A-OK. Very trustworthy place. You never have to worry that they arent going to let you know that your pawn item is due. They dont want you to lose your items any more than you do. Most pawn shops dont care but they do here. They have even given a few extra dollars on a pawn item above what it is worth just to help you out. Great place!

I own a small trucking company and any time there is a repair it can cost thousands of dollars. I recently had to pay for an ongoing problem with a truck and was about $1100 short. If I didn't get that truck moving that day, I stood to lose thousands in revenue. My customers sometimes take three months to pay their invoices yet I still have to pay for fuel, wages,the list goes on and on. I took a couple of guitars in to see if I could get enough to pay the shop bill. The gentleman who helped me gave me a loan for enough to cover the shop bill even going a quite bit above what their pawn value was worth. It really saved my ass. I believe these guys really are out to help people. They are polite and always professional. Thanks again, I'm not sure what I would have done without your help. I was out of options.

I have no idea who was running sales for firearms that day but i went in and asked to see an AR-15 that was on the rack and he told me that in the state of kansas its illegal to sell an "assault rifle" to anyone under the age of 21 i got confused but he told me it was a new law. I shrugged it off and thought maybe i need to double check my laws on firearms so then i saw a self defense shotgun and asked well then could i see that one and he said no as well because i was 19 i could only buy hunting shotguns at that point i knew that the idiot that was working the counter had no idea what he was talking about and i just walked out and went to another store and bought an AR-15, point is i just dont trust anybody with business if they dont know what they are talking about. Im not sure how to reply on reviews, that does clear that up for me i was confused on why the person said that, also the shotgun wasnt pistol grip it just had a short barrel, he said that i could only get the long hunting shotguns

It was my first visit to any pawn shop. I met with Rob the moment I walked in. He greeted me with a professional smile and put me at ease immediately. His kindness and ability to put me at ease was beyond measure. I was a broke single mother needing money to buy groceries to feed my young son and myself. Going through a rough divorce not having received child support. I had only one thing of value, a diamond ring. He remembered my explanation that although I had no emotional attachment to the ring I did understand that it had personal property value. Not having used pawn shop before of course I was nervous. Those nerves were immediately expelled upon meeting Rob. With a brief explanation of my situation he not only evaluated my property, but explained all of my options in a professional,friendly, and courteous manner. I've had to use that ring in three emergencies since then, this last time was for an extended length of time. Rob, being the kind of of business man he is, remembered that I wanted to keep it for my son's sake in the future. So he called me today to remind me that tomorrow was the deadline. Out of courtesy to me. That's just how he runs his business. And has given me an extension knowing that I get paid once a month and not till the 10th. He's allowed me to pay him on the 10th to retrieve my property. I'll NEVER patronize another Pawn service other than americanpawnandgun! Stick with locally owned and operated business like americanpawnandgun! They really care about their customers! The entire staff is irreplaceable!

I took a necklace to A-OK and was told that it was only 10k. Knowing this had to be wrong I went back to American Pawn where it was purchased. They were great!
