I cannot say how incredible it was to work with Mallory on my cushion engagement ring and wedding band. My now husband knew he wanted to get a custom ring for me with a salt and pepper natural diamond. Mallory showed him several options and walked him through the design process. When we designed the matching wedding band, it was a perfect fit. Mallory and her team are very responsive and knowledgeable. The price points for these custom items were very reasonable as well. I can’t wait to design more bands for my stack in the future.

FIVE STARS! I had such a positive experience getting a custom wedding band at Shelter. I've followed the shop on Instagram for years, LOVE its style, and was so excited to work with the store for a custom piece. My fiance and I worked with Mallory to design two custom wedding bands. She was so helpful in helping us figure out what we wanted and explained the nuances of different styles very clearly. My fiance had a good idea of what he wanted, and Mallory helped guide him through a few different options based on what he was looking for. I truly had no idea what I wanted for my wedding band, so I showed Mallory pictures of my engagement ring and she asked me a few questions about my style preferences and budget. About a week later, she sent over several options, which she mocked up against a photo of my engagement ring. Somehow Mallory translated my very vague preferences into three beautiful designs -- it was so hard to choose between the options. The whole process was incredibly easy, and everything turned out PERFECT. I'm obsessed with my wedding band and it is the perfect complement to my engagement ring. I was so pleased with my decision to work with Shelter and I recommend it to everybody who compliments me on my wedding band!

Mallory helped us create a custom engagement ring using stones from an inherited ring. She sourced new center diamond options for us and was really helpful in helping us pick one. She sent us a 3D model of the new ring and printed a wax model of it that she put the stones in so we could see exactly how it would look. We're so thrilled with the finished product and can't wait to go back to Shelter next spring to look at wedding bands. Couldn't recommend Shelter and Mallory highly enough!

My fiance and I first reached out to Mallory together and I gave her all of the things I definitely did and did not want, shared any pictures that were in line with my vision, and talked logistics. From there my partner TJ took over, working with Mallory on all of the final details and stone selection. Mallory was SO thorough and helpful through this process, working to educate throughout the stone sourcing & selection on different shapes, heated vs. non-heated gemstones , and all of those details. She is so knowledgeable and works to make sure the ring setting will suit its future owner - knowing that I lead an active lifestyle, Mallory recommended a lower profile setting to keep the stone safe and sound :-). Overall we couldn't be happier with the final outcome, I get compliments on it every single day! (picture is from Mallory's Instagram, couldn't take a better one if I tried!)

From the first call I had with the team, they were able to answer all my questions and set me on the right path to designing something amazing. I purchased the necklace in April and unfortunately it was stolen while on vacation a few months later. I reached out to the shop to see if I could repurchase it because I had such an attachment. They kindly went out of their way to reach out to the artist to see if they could get me another one as they didn’t have another in stock. They stayed in touch throughout the process and secured a new necklace for me. I am blown away by their kindness. Mallory helped design and craft my engagement ring, and we couldn't be more pleased. She was very responsive on email, and was transparent about the process, the cost (which was very reasonable, all things considered!) and the timeline. She made multiple digital renderings to make sure everything was perfect, and then 3D printed a mockup to make sure it fit and looked okay before making the final ring in gold and adding the stones. She sourced some absolutely beautiful stones (including an amazing lab-made alexandrite) and also worked in an heirloom family jewel that we provided. The final result is absolutely gorgeous and completely unique; I can't stop looking at it.

This is an absolutely gorgeous store with one-of-a kind pieces. I might have walked away with quite a loot but I was shopping with my husband and had to restrain my impulses. I purchased a delicate bracelet that I plan to layer with other pieces. Lovely and personal customer service. A unique shop where you are made to feel special upon entering. Very refined and highly educated staff. I recommend a visit for a special shopping treat, even if you’re just browsing.

The store is beautiful and the owner helped guide me towards some great items -- some for others and definitely a few things for myself. My fiance and I designed my engagement ring together because neither of us knew what I wanted lol. I did know that I would love a ring from Mallory Shelter because I love her style and saw her grow her business from selling at markets to her own store front, which is so cool. I don't live in DC anymore so we did a zoom call with her, she was really helpful and we narrowed it down to 2 ring styles. They then mailed us 2 wax ring renderings so I could pick out which one I wanted. My fiance took over from there and worked with Magnolia on finalizing the details. The turnaround time was exactly what they projected and shipping was quick. I'm completely obsessed with my gorgeous ring! It's even more beautiful than I could have imagined :) Pic from the night we got engaged! I'm also wearing the hammered bracelet I bought from Mallory at a pop up market back in 2017! Timeless pieces, so happy we went to her
