Got my ring and it is exactly what I was expecting and more. I know something about diamonds and this one exceeds my expectations. I have a microscope for my phone and the mount is perfect. The people at James Allen were awesome to work with. The ring fit perfectly on her hand and looks wonderful. I will be checking here for our bands. I was very impressed with their shipping and packaging.

The experience top to bottom was excellent. Our sales person, Benjamin, was witty, wise and very helpful. He eliminated any stress that could accompany a very big decision. The ample selection was just what just what we were looking to compare. The prices were astonishingly reasonable especially for a store on M Street in Georgetown. I had considered the on line only store Angolee but James Allen prices were even better and we got top shelf service from a bricks and mortar store. Ben even called the day the ring shipped to make sure someone would be home to sign for it. I was pleasantly surprised with the follow up. 5 stars to Ben. The ring showed up today and it’s perfect. I could not be happier. If you are shopping for an engagement ring, you would be foolish not to make James Allen your very first stop.

The Diamond is very sparkly and looks much larger than the quarter carat it is supposed to be. That’s the good part. The bezel seems well crafted but a little less substantial than I was expecting. Then there is the chain-about as chintzy a piece as it can be! The first place I have to take my daughter after Christmas is a jeweler who can put a proper chain in this thing. I expected more.

The rings I've bought from JA are always flawlessly beautiful and shine like the stars. The sizing is very accurate. I just find there are not enough good photos of the items to decide if the stone sizes are what I want. It's very hard to judge from the photos they have eg. between 0.75ct or 1ct 7 stone ring. The sales rep on chat don't have all the info though they try to be helpful. I had to go with my gut feeling and budget to decide. I didn't like the risk but am always happy with my purchases after careful deliberation. Returns are not an option as I am ordering from outside the U.S.

My fiancé and I purchased her ring on the James Allen website, and everything about our experience was positive. The website was easy to navigate, the ring-construction process itself was intuitive, and we loved the ability to sort and select specific stones based on a range of parameters (and to view stones in 10X magnification and 360 degrees). I had already educated myself a bit about stones, features, and value, but the James Allen website helped me to learn a lot more. The ring was finished exactly when originally promised, perhaps helped along by my pinging them several times as the date neared. On that note, the "chat" function worked extremely well in pairing me with helpful employees in the evening as well as morning-- or, if they were actually AI chatbots, then AI has progressed to a scarily useful degree. I got assistance and relevant information when I asked for it. Best of all, my fiancé and I both love the finished product. It sparkles beautifully. We opted for a natural diamond over lab-made, sacrificing a bit of size/weight for the preservation of long-term resale value, but others may have different priorities. It was great to find a merchant who offered so many of both options. I felt as if we got both quality and value, and that's the feeling you want after such an important milestone purchase. I highly recommend James Allen.

This is my 2nd purchase from James Allen. I love the website, the chat representatives can be fabulous (some know a lot about jewelry and James Allen and some know little or nothing about jewelry or their policies which was frustrating) but for the most part great. I returned this pair of lab diamond studs because the back broke when putting them on but I did find the diamonds to be good quality but would recommend a jumbo back not the La Pousette style which are hard to get on and off. I ended up buying another pair from our jeweler that I like a lot. It took a full 14 days to get my refund but they did refund our credit card. I would not hesitate to use James Allen in the future but was a little frustrated with the service I received trying to return my earrings. They sent me a label that had their old address on it so it was not able to be delivered and had to go several more days to get back to James Allen which delayed my refund. This company is DEFINITELY legit, I just think they could tighten up a few things. When dealing with expensive jewelry its very important to be buttoned up!

We ordered a ring with an oval shaped lab created diamond. We were doubting as we wanted to order this and have it shipped to the Netherlands. Well, we shouldn’t have doubted! The ring and the diamond are just.. WOW. We got a 1.36ctw D color VS1 diamond, with a 14k white gold ring. My wife is married to the ring already! Its so beautiful! Also, the shipping was perfect. It was expected to be shipped by July 25th, but it got shipped 3 days earlier and we received the order on July 26th. Great packaging and swift shipping. The customs duty was calculated properly by the customer service of JA. Would certainly order again!

I bought my initial engagement ring from the James Allen website back in November 2018. At the time when i purchased this ring James Allen did not have a physical store in the DMV area. Fast forward to July 2019. They now opened a location in Georgetown. Now My Fiancee loves her ring so much i was more than happy to take her here to go buy her and I wedding bands. The day we went we were helped by a gentleman by the name of Bernardo Gabriel. He was nice, not pushy at all and patiently answered all the questions we had. By the end of it, i ended up getting two bands for myself. The experience is nice and straight forward. The prices are beyond reasonable and the customer service was unmatched. I went to Jared, Tiffany's , Helzberg Diamonds etc when looking at rings and James Allen service was more amazing because they weren't aggressive about sale or suggestions. Do yourself a favor and come here before you waste money on other brands.

Buying online from James Allen was a pleasure. It was easy to order. Customer service was great and very helpful. The online pictures of the ring that I ordered is very good quality and color. 7 days after I ordered a ring for my 25th anniversary and the day before the ring arrived James Allen put everything on 25% off for summer sale. I chatted online with one of the 24 hour customer service people and they said sure I will forward to billing and they will issue you a credit for the 25% off. The ring was shipped in a large James Allen jewelry box with a drawer on the front and a lid that opens up to reveal the new ring in a small red ring box. There was a polishing cloth in the drawer. I highly recommend James Allen Jewelry. I saw some searches on Google asking if James Allen is legit or a scam. I thought I should share my positive experience.

Beautiful quality ring. The only issue I had was that I’m 20 and I had it shipped to a FedEx store and James Allen put a 21+ age requirement for picking up the package. It made the moment of picking up my engagement ring a pain in the butt and very stressful. Idk why an age requirement helps anything especially when they already checked my ID and it matched the package. I don’t mean this to slam James Allen as a company, the ring was exactly what I was looking for! But the age requirement should be made more clear before they ship the package.

First time customer, looking for a very simple band for my wife of 24 years. Started my search for titanium bands at local storefronts and none were available in stock. So I began searching online and found lots of differences in pricing & perceived quality. I tried shopping at some bigger name companies so I could get and "education" about what I was buying. Some how I found James Allen. Though platinum was not my first choice, I was able to use my new found knowledge and get an appreciation for the material. JA's platform was very easy to navigate and gave me many options. I placed the order and was excited to proceed with my play to present to my wife. But the item came early. Not usually a problem...RIGHT? Well guess who signed for the delivery? She proceed to open the outside cardboard box, revealing a bright white box with JA logo. Unaware of what is inside, she opens the box to reveal a smaller red box. At this point, she know she should not be going any further and stops. So when I arrived home to an extremely excited spouse, the cat was out of the bag. Presentation was spot on and very professional. JA delivered the goods and I was very pleased with the outcome. Except for the timing..but maybe next time I will have a better plan.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! My now fiancé has been looking at rings/diamonds since at least November 2020. He spent countless hours researching and looking at different websites for the best engagement ring. He found James Allen and the website was easy to use and the most informative. He’s no expert at this and really did not know what made a great diamond or ring. James Allen made it easy for him!! When he decided on James Allen. We decided to go to the Georgetown location to try on different settings we found online. We drove over 2 hours! The staff was very welcoming, friendly and nice!! But, special shout out to Mr. Benjamin!!!!!!!! He helped us so much!!!! He was patient, not pushy, realistic and a true expert! Due to Covid restrictions, our family couldn’t come in the store but stayed at the steps of the entrance and he let me show them each setting for their opinion. He also sat down privately with my fiancé to pick out a diamond. He told my fiancé what is going to make up the best diamond and that he wouldn’t recommend or sell him a bad diamond. This is my experience. Since Nov. 2021 I begging my researching for the perfect 4c’s for my wife. On Feb. 10, 2022 I order (what I though) the perfect Diamond. I called JA to make my order since I was hesitate on spending thousands of dollar on a online transaction with out PayPal. The next day I got a call from JA with Daria explaining that the Diamond was not available to sell. Imagine how I was after all this time looking for the perfect rock. Daria had a tremendous listening skills, understood my situation, went out of her way looking for a replacement, after 3 other options, she found one that was an IDEAL cut, better clarity, not a colorless like the one before but near colorless that to me it looked good (based on my new research) it was a lot better choice then the one I had selected for nearly the same cost. My wife continually says how it's the most beautiful ring she's ever seen, and it's hard to state this without being able to see it in person... but there are times where her diamond sparkles enough that it actually hurts to look at. It reflects sunlight through the window and makes it look like a constellation of stars against the wall. ***UPDATE*** Since my review below, my fiance had some dealings with James Allen, specifically one of their supervisors. Without going into detail, JA was very reasonable, accomodating, and overall the service we received was much better than before. Updating from 2 stars to 4. ***End update*** First off, the ring and diamond I chose look amazing. For my girlfriend I chose the Pave setting with a 0.7 carat round cut diamond centre. I had all the diamonds and the setting independently appraised to ensure I got what I paid for and was told the diamonds were excellent. Unfortunately, the service I received was poor. Right from the onset of purchasing, I had numerous conversations with James Allen's online diamond experts regarding possible diamonds. When I had selected the diamond I ultimately ended up purchasing, I was chatting with JA's online diamond "expert" just prior to making the purchase. I reviewed the certificate that comes with the diamond and asked if there were any clouds and if the expert could shown them to me. The expert proceeded to circle the entire diamond stating it was cloudy all over. I couldn't believe this, as the AGS certificate did not indicate much, if any, cloudiness. I'm not a diamond expert though so I reached out to a couple local experts who reviewed the certificate and told me there was no cloudiness at all, contradicting JA's online expert. After making the purchase, the online tracking provided indicated that the completed ring was estimated to ship 2 weeks later. As the days passed, the tracking never moved past "Pre-Production". I reached out 3-4 times to JA's online support who told me the date was still valid and the tracker was not working. One support person even told me I needed to take a "selfie" with my credit card and ID and email the picture to JA. I questioned them further on this and they retracted their statement saying it was not required and the order was in production. As I suspected, the date of expected shipping past, so I called the following day and the person on the phone was at least more helpful than the online people. They said they would contact a supervisor and get back to me. Shortly after a supervisor did return my call and advised me that there was a "miscommunication" and the diamond was never shipped to James Allen from the supplier. They assured me they would expedite the process and ship the ring ASAP. The ring did ship the following Friday, 4 days after the initial ship date. Overall the timeline was fine, but the fact I had to keep emailing and phoning for information on the order and kept being told false information was incredibly frustrating. Considering JA is an online retailer built upon customer service it is extremely concerning to me the lack of service I received in making the purchase. I am worried how their service will be for warranty and future maintenance on the ring. Overall the diamond ring I give 5 stars. James Allen's customer service I give 1 star.

I had a pair of diamond earrings but lost one. I also wanted to change the setting. I chose the diamond and the setting from the website. In order to choose only one earring (to complete the pair), I needed to phone in my order. During that call, I was told that I cannot purchase both settings but only one diamond. This was very disappointing but, I went ahead with the purchase anyway. Now I have one gold setting and one platinum setting and no way to ensure I can find a match without buying another diamond. Other than that, the earring is perfect, even better than expected. Delivery took longer than expected but, it was Christmas (or a bit after). It was a pain having to go to FedEx to pick up the package. If I had known a signature was required, I would have planned differently. Once enroute, James Allen would not allow changes, though FedEx would. The packaging was beautiful. This earring came in a large and very heavy box with a non-descript address. I appreciate that attention to detail and plan to, what I am guessing, disguise the package. I love my earring and would use James Allen again. I would recommend them to friends. I just wish I had the other setting so I could have a matching pair.

The laser name engraving on the inside, because of the size of the ring is minute and every so slightly off line but only a fraction. Imported to the UK. Engagements are supposed to be one of the most magical and important events of a relationship; ideally once in a lifetime. Due to NUMEROUS mistakes on the part of James Allen, our engagement was and will forever be stained and tainted. It was not what we had hoped for by a long shot. I had to propose with a gold band because of their inability to get my ring delivered in time and it came in the wrong style once it did 2 and a half months late (2 and a half months after their initial delivery date). Purchased an engagement ring from James Allen; that part was fine. However, after that was when things quickly went into a stressful and frustrating downward spiral. They delayed the delivery 3 times, causing me to miss two of my planned proposal dates. First delay was for 2 months due to their oversight and losing my order in the system, but initially attempted to blame it on COVID. They made it into a 4-prong instead of the 6-prong that she specifically asked for and therefore I ordered. We ultimately decided to keep the 4-prong mainly because we don’t want to deal with James Allen any longer than we have to and go back to the gold band for an indefinite amount of time. They never sent the grading reports for the diamond. It’s been over a week and I still do not have it and have not been given an estimated date of delivery. I’m not even sure if they sent the right diamond at this point. The website looks good and prices are fine, but everything else has been less than ideal. Probably safer not to gamble with your engagement ring and the proposal with unreliable service and delivery; pay extra and get it elsewhere. Edit: They responded quickly after I posted this review and provided a small refund for the troubles. Bumping up to 3 stars for their effort to remedy the situation.

Overall I’m pleased with the ring but there appears to be a slight haziness to the diamond. I sacrificed a bit on the size to get the quality diamond I wanted.(E, VS1, EX) because the most important thing to me was the "sparkle". I went back and looked at the information on the diamond and noticed that the fluorescence is listed as "strong". After researching a bit, I discovered that this is perceived as a defect in colorless (D-F) diamonds and can cause haziness. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have selected a diamond with medium fluorescence (and paid a bit more if necessary). Also, I sent the ring back for resizing and it took a month. Not really a problem but just an FYI for those that need to have resizing done. Again, it is a beautiful ring but I wish I had realized that fluorescence should be taken into consideration in addition to the 4 "Cs".

I had to send back the ring I got since it was much too big. The resizing process understandably took awhile in the post-holiday rush. Bottom line: get it right the first time.

Beautiful rings, that is obvious, but when it comes to being honest with costumers that is where i was let down. All over the site when talking about lab grown diamonds you are under the impression that it's still a real diamond. They say it themselves "They are real diamonds". So when we received our ring and had it checked just for fun on a diamond reader it didnt show up. Disappointing to say the least because we spent a pretty penny under the impression that it was real too. Beautiful ring, but i wish the company was clear that they obviously arent the same.

Was a bit skeptical about buying an engagement ring online, but i can now confirm that this is legit as i’ve had the diamond’s GIA report number (which is engraved into the diamond) independently verified at a local jeweller. Would have provided 5 stars if JA had: 1. remembered to engrave the text which was requested into the band. JA does have a return policy, but i wasn’t prepared to spend more money on travel insurance and spend more time dealing with customs. 2. an option to select ring size increments by 1/4 instead of 1/2. So it turns out my fiancé’s finger is in the 1/4 range so we had no choice but to resize it here.

Learn from my mistake and avoid James Allen for anything time sensitive or personally significant. I ordered an engagement ring on Dec. 15. The James Allen website (falsely) indicated the order would ship in time for delivery by Christmas. Immediately after placing the order, the estimated ship date was Dec. 19, for delivery on Dec. 20 (i.e. there appeared to be plenty of cushion). The next day, I noticed the ship date had slipped to Dec. 23. Because delivery by Dec. 24 was important, I contacted James Allen twice to verify the ship date would not slip further. Both agents, including one who "checked with the manager," indicated the order was still on track for Christmas Eve delivery. Had either agent indicated otherwise, I would have canceled the order immediately. Early the morning of Dec. 23, James Allen updated status to indicate QA was complete and the ring was ready to ship, but after receiving no confirmation all day, I re-checked status in the evening and was horrified to find the ship date had changed, again, to Dec. 26, without explanation. Merry Christmas from James Allen! As it was too late to find an alternative ring in time for Christmas, I contacted James Allen to confirm they had failed to ship. The agent was argumentative, offered no apology, and clung to the defense that all ship dates are merely estimates ... but then volunteered that 300 orders had failed to ship in time for Christmas delivery. Yikes. Update: Ring received, but band exchange was required. That process went reasonably well, so I’m upgrading to 3 stars but still letting the experience above speak for itself.
