Drew worked with my now husband to make the perfect engagement ring. We both wanted something unique and Drew was able to help design the perfect ring to suit our style. When it came time for the wedding band we knew we wanted a Raybar design again. I wanted to mix metals, so Drew listened to what I envisioned and was able to provide digital renderings during the design process so that we could see the exact look of the band itself and the two rings as a set. Drew and co. are kind and professional and delivered both rings in a timely manner. We highly recommend!!

Raybar helped me recraft my engagement ring! My wonderful fiance bought me a lovely engagement ring that I was devastated not to be able to wear due to the nature of my job. The gentlemen at Raybar were wonderful in helping me to transfer my stones and repurpose the gold from my first ring to a design that I could fit underneath gloves. They also custom-designed a matching bridal band to suit the engagement ring, and re-tooled and rhodium dipped my grandmother's engagement ring for an updated look. My mother has been taking her jewelry to be reworked and updated by Raybar for years, and now they have another generation of happy customers!

It ended up needing to be completely remade, and it came out gorgeous! They strengthened the design while still keeping it as beautiful and delicate as the original and I am sure it will now last for years. This was my first time purchasing a higher-end jewelry piece, and Drew was patient and helpful in walking me through the process. The team at Raybar is communicative and attentive, and even though I was on a tight timeline and our simple petite band was nowhere near the intricate custom pieces Raybar creates, Drew managed to get it done right on time amongst their busy schedule (and I'm sure there are much more lucrative jobs they could have chosen to focus on). I would give Raybar 6/5 stars if I could, and can confidently say I've found my jeweler for life in this small hometown family business. From the moment I walked in and met Drew and Nikki I felt at ease! I came in to discuss designing my engagement ring and was overwhelmed and a bit nervous. I had an idea of what I wanted, but was also unsure since I mostly own fashion jewellery. Drew spent weeks sending me different digital mock ups (videos and pictures), helped me figure out diamond sizes and went over different settings. He took my idea and created a breathtaking master piece. I didn't want to see the finished ring because my boyfriend wanted to have an element of surprise when he proposed--and I was absolutely blown away. After speaking with both Jerry and Drew, I became interested in melting down a few ounces of gold, and a diamond ring. They took my vision and brought it to life in a way I could not have imagined. I had a loose diamond and melee diamonds I wanted set into a new setting, so I inquired with dozens of jewelry stores in the area. I decided to work with Raybar Fine Jewelry due to the positive vibe and professionalism I received from Drew. The first impression was superior to all of the other jewelers. Drew created a draft of my e-ring from my blurry reference photos and a CAD I had. He sent me a CAD to review before he started to create the ring. I pointed out some things I wanted to be changed, and he corrected the details better than I could have imagined. Once I received the ring, I could immediately tell it was high quality. The center stone is well-contained within the setting; the claw prongs are even and look aligned—no scratches on the bands or welding stains. No damages were noted to my diamonds, and everything was intact and pristine. The diamonds I brought in were the diamonds set on my new ring. You don’t have to worry about switcheroos here. Drew is patient and straight-forward. He pays attention to the details, and the customer service was out of this world. I receive so many compliments on my ring, and I do not hesitate to tell people that Raybar Fine Jewelry created this beauty. My fiancé and I will work with Drew again for my diamond wedding band. If you are looking for a store to handle your jewelry needs, look no further. 5 stars is not enough for the type of service that Raybar provides. Jerry, Drew, and Nikki were wonderful and their customer service was impeccable. I had my wedding rings cleaned and plated and they have never looked better! Seriously. The shine is incredible! Updated Review: After their exceptional service the first time, I returned to Raybar and had my engagement ring, my grandmother’s wedding band, and another ring in for resizing. I arranged a time to come in online through YELP but arrived there about 30 minutes later than I had planned. But I was promptly helped and left my rings for their work. Just a few hours later all 3 of my rings (that needed additional gold) were done and looked amazing! They took such good care of my rings. I will also say that everyone I have met (receptionist and the father and son) were extremely kind to both myself and my young son. I actually had a lot of fun during my time there :) Thanks Raybar! Today I went in for a sizing up of my wedding band. I was able to immediately sit down with the jeweler, he helped me find the size I wanted it to be, and assured me it would be done the same day (on a Saturday). Within just a couple of hours I was texted that the job was done. My wedding ring fits perfectly now and I am so happy to be wearing it again! He was even able to engrave the original quote inside of the band. Thank you for the professional, kind, and exemplary work!

We were able to be seen right away and Drew carefully examined my ring. He also gave me a complimentary ring polishing. Thank goodness my ring was ok. This was the first time that I used Raybar Fine Jewelry, as I was referred to them by a good friend. I must say that my experience with them was nothing short of excellent. This is a family business and dealing with both Jerry and his son Drew was great. They spent quite a bit of time with me and even showed me their "shop" where all the hard work, creativity and attention to detail takes place. I took them a mans ring with some diamonds that needed to be replaced as well as be repaired in some other places and be cleaned up. Drew took a few high resolution pictures of my ring so that he could clearly show me where the ring needed to be repaired and rebuilt. That was very impressive to me. A week later I picked my ring backup and was quite surprised at how beautiful it looked. Again, Drew took another high resolution picture of the ring, then placed both pictures side by so that I could see a Before and After. I was very, very happy with their expertise, their work, and the time they spent with me. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone in the Virginia Beach, VA area and beyond to pay Raybar fine jewelry a visit the next time you would like anything jewelry related. I wish I could give more than five stars! I am so incredibly happy to have discovered Raybar. After having a seriously frustrating and negative experience working on a custom engagement ring at another local jeweler (which took some five months), I wound up with a ring that I was pretty unhappy with, and my fiance had spent a significant amount of money on. When I first met with Drew, he provided honest and professional advice about how to go about "fixing" the problem with the other jeweler, before we even expressed interest in working with Raybar. I felt as though he was talking to me as a friend, and I felt like I could trust him instantly. His advice was so helpful, and we ended up getting our money back from the other jeweler. Despite the lengthy negative experience with the other jeweler (which sent out the ring to be built rather than building it in-house), we decided to try doing another custom ring with Drew, and I am so happy we did! He provided helpful websites and designers for inspiration, and quickly came up with a design that truly represented what I've been looking for. When we first consulted, I told him we had an upcoming trip to visit my family a couple weeks down the road and would love to have it completed by then. We just picked it up yesterday, on time, gorgeous, produced right at Raybar and just how I envisioned it! Rare find in Virginia Beach true artisan craftsmen!!! After trying several high end stores and being pushed around i’m so glad I found this father and son team. They are genuine and talented goldsmiths. They made the most impressive custom engagement ring of heirloom quality, this ring will last generations. Whats even better was their willingness to use family heirloom diamonds, no pressure to buy or upgrade the stones through them. I loved working with Drew on the design process and had some great concepts to add to my ideas, you can tell they are both very passionate about designing and crafting quality unique jewelry that stands the test of time. The communication was excellent thought the entire process, timely service and a followed up after too. We have found our jewelers for life.

We were expecting the worst when we first handed over the ring and learned a diamond was chipped but Deborah was amazing and walked us through all the different possibilities. They cleaned the ring, tightened the prongs and turned the diamond to protect it from further damage. They even polished up my wedding bands.The whole ring inspection was done in front of us in a timely manner and any questions we had were thoroughly answered. We received the appraisal a few days later via email including a recommendation for an insurance company to use. I choose the store based on google reviews and am so happy I did. We highly recommend Raybar and will definitely be back again. The Hershey kisses offered to our daughter were also a nice touch!

I desperately needed a ring size before I go on deployment and found these guys on Google. Out of the many jewelry stores that I did call, Drew at Raybar was the most informative and didn't talk like a usual sales representative. True to his word, he did the resizing the same day I dropped it off and stuck with the original quote even though there was some additional work that was necessary because the ring had to go so small. They literally do the work in their store and he showed all the neat tools and equipment they use to get the job done. Highly recommend him.

We've been searching for a custom wedding band for a long time now to fit my unique engagement ring (square-cut sapphire with diamonds in the band and surrounding the sapphire), and a simple gold band for my fiance at a reasonable price. Drew and the Raybar crew were more than willing to help us adjust my wedding band to fit perfectly with the engagement ring. For my fiance's band, he wanted something simple, yellow-gold, and 5-6mm, but many places have overcharged even for a simple ring like this. However, It's clear Raybar understands the trade, as Drew was able to discuss sizing and pricing immediately over the phone. When we explained our long-distance planning process, he was more than willing to consult with us on what band and size would work best for my fiance, and recommend other resources and businesses of the same caliber. After searching for a reputable local jeweler on Google, I'm glad I decided to give Raybar a visit. Drew, one of the goldsmiths, was able to refurbish my white gold wedding ring while I waited. When he finished with it (less than 15 minutes), the ring looked better than when I first got it almost six years ago. He polished the ring to a bright, mirror finish. Drew helped me create a completely custom three stone diamond and sapphire engagement ring that turned out beautifully, and was perfect for my wife. We took a few months to tweak my initial design concepts, settle on one, create a preliminary CAD model, refine the CAD model, find the right stones, and then cast and finish the ring. Most of the time was design and decision-making on my part. I'm pretty sure Drew got tired of seeing me walk into the store every day on my lunch break... :) The actual production was pretty quick once we nailed everything down. I had a lot of fun making the ring and look forward to my next custom piece with Raybar. Also, the final price was about a third of what the blue box store wanted for a simple solitaire, and the final result was so much better. We were on our way to a different jeweler but got stuck in traffic and weren't going to make it before closing, so we ended up at Raybar because it was open later. I was in need of 2 bracelets being repaired. With so many places still not open or independent persons not doing business currently, I looked online. I found Raybar and after calling and having Drew confirm they were open I headed out. I live a pretty good distance, so I was more than excited at how nicely I was treated and how efficiently. Jerry, who i later found out was the owner, offered to repair both pieces if I would like to wait for a few minutes. After doing some due diligence as to where I could have a very sentimental ring re-sized, I felt confident calling Raybar. I spoke with Drew on the phone and when I arrived at the store. I explained my reluctance to leave the diamond ring someplace and worried that it would be taken care of. I came to Raybar with my wedding ring set after having an.... interesting.... experience at another jeweler. I went to the other jeweler to have my engagement ring and wedding band sized (from about an 8 to a 4) and eventually fused together. They sized my engagement ring correctly, but sized my band almost half a size too big, and told me it was needed in order to have them fused together. Of course, I went along with it because they were the "professionals," after all! When I finally did get the rings fused together, and got them back, I noticed they didn't exactly line up. After I showed my husband, he said you definitely need to take it back and get it fixed. So I went back a week later, and expressed my concerns, in a polite way. I didn't come in, guns blazing, demanding to speak to the owner. But, I felt like I was treated as if I did. The guy who worked on my rings, who is also the owner, spoke to me as if I was stupid, and like I should've known why it looked the way it did, saying that it was because I had it sized so small (which I can't help!) and because it was just a "generic ring" and wasn't "custom." I kept my (disgusted) thoughts to myself, and left very disappointed. Now, to Raybar! I came in, desperately hoping they had a better opinion than the first place.... and they saved the day!! After explaining the situation, they more than understood, and said they've even had this happen before. Where people came to them to have their jewelry fixed after being poorly done at the other place. They resized and put my rings back together, and tightened all the prongs around the stones, for less than what I paid previously to just have them fused together! So from now on, I will only be taking my jewelry, and referring friends, to Raybar. Superior work, and excellent pricing! Couldn't be happier!!

I wish I consulted with Drew at Raybar Fine Jewelry before I made the mistake of buying from the "new" jewelry chain store in town. I was seduced by the slick radio spots from a company that promises a "whole new way to buy diamonds" only to be utterly disappointed several times with their service after they got paid. But, I digress. Drew is a true professional. He was very affable and honest with me and my fiance when we had to visit with the ring I purchased from the previously mentioned chain store. I needed him to inspect the ring and asked if he could offer his opinion because the diamond was moving in the setting. Rather than getting into the specifics of his inspection, I'll just say that he really does want YOU to know what he's looking for and actually shows you with his fancy camera. He wants you to understand what the problem is. Not the typical "trust me" shtick from most people in the service industry. Now, I don't envy his position of criticizing another's work while keeping objectivity. He was extremely diplomatic about what he saw as lacking (the craftsmanship) while also nodding in approval when I told him the price I paid. Wait, wait, wait. That's not supposed to happen! I guarantee you that had I went elsewhere and asked them their opinion I would have been lectured about how much I overpaid and blah blah. Drew did not do that. He gave me advice as to what I should say and do to have the original store fix their mistakes. The advice sounded like it came from a close friend and we just met him 10 minutes prior. I tried to give him money for his time and he declined, saying that if we needed any more help with anything jewelry related, then we'd know where to find him. I was so impressed that we are going to return for the wedding bands and from what I've seen of his workmanship and all the 5-star reviews left by others, I have no doubt that Drew will take care of us!

When the rings where purchased from the big chain jewelry store (Zales), we were told we would have free resizing, cleaning, and prong tightening for life. It came time that I needed my ring resized and I also wanted my wedding band and engagement ring fused. So, I went back to said jewelry store with my proof of purchase and they told me I'd have to pay out of pocket for their services. I was quoted just on the ring resizing there and it was a very ridiculous amount and was told it would be 4-6 weeks!! I then stumbled upon Raybar and after reading the reviews I figured I'd stop in. I immediately was helped and they were able to resize, fuse, and clean my rings at a much lower price than what the big jewelry stores quoted me for just a resize! I walked in around 11 at about 2 o'clock that same day my rings were done and more beautiful than the day I got married! Decided to give Raybars a chance after being talked into going by a good friend. Initially I hesitated going into any jewelry store because of a past experience at a chain store with my engagement diamond being swapped. My friend insisted that I go and that it would be different. And it was. The jeweler at Raybar's was very understanding of my paranoia with not wanting to leave my deceased mothers Ruby ring for repair, but I knew that it needed to be left behind for a certain amount of time in order to have it properly fixed. I was really surprised when he told me that he would let me watch the repair in person. Of course I had to come in on a day and time he was able to accommodate me. Let me tell you, being able to talk to a real jeweler and having this exceptional service made everything less stressful. I really appreciate them going out of their way for me. I never knew that I would be able to sit in the back of a jewelry store and actually watch someone repair my cherished ring. I also never realized how much care is required to fix such a precious item. I have an increased appreciation for Jewelers and their art in a way I wouldn't have otherwise.
