I read all the reviews here and this seems like the premier local coin shop but I showed up at this location on a two separate days and both times the two different workers said all their gold bullion coins were gone? It's annoying enough living far away and having to draw out money from my bank, but showing up on two different times to be told.. nah we don't want your business cause we didn't have even a few basic gold coins.. come on now. You guys can do better than this.

I now have three generations of my family who shop here. My grandson is only 7 and loves coming here and shopping. These guys were amazing I went I today kinda just looking around for some gold as I have not collected before. I walked in and was greeted by (I’m sorry I’m horrible with names), and asked about collecting and what I would be interested in. He brought out the 1 gram bars. He treated me with great respect and didnt shun me for not knowing much about gold! This is amazing customer service! I bought my first gram of gold and the price was great! I highly recommend these guys to all who are new to the collection game as they will treat like a normal person and not scoff at you for not already knowing! Took my 10yr old son to go look at some coins today. He loves collecting coins so no matter where we go he’s got to check out the local coin shop. Today was the best. Patrick was super nice with him they talked coins for a good 15 minutes and he was so good with my son and answered every question he had and was super friendly and knowledgeable. Great shop! I've been trying to grow my collection a little at a time, so I go in once a week or so. Michael is great, nice, fair and informative. I've only bought from them, but their prices are fair. Last time I stopped in during regular business hours, the sign read open, but nobody was inside to buzz me in. It's a good thing that their phone number is in great big letters on the front door! They answered the phone, and had to run to the bank. They were back in a matter of minutes! LOVE these guys! First off let me say that I went to 2 other coin shops before this. This shop had BY FAR the best variety, very fair prices and also highest quality silver bullion of the other two I visited at the time. They had basic silver rounds, Chinese pandas, Mexican Libertads, South African Krugerrands, Australian Kooks/koalas, Brittanias etc. All in fantastic shape and amazingly competitive prices. Mike and Patrick were absolutely fantastic to deal with and very knowledgeable and gave me a great deal on my purchase today. Definitely going to be my "go to" silver bullion/coin dealer from here on out. Thanks guys! Absolutely recommended them to anyone looking for a great bullion/coin dealer.They also seem to have very competitive buy back prices for anyone looking to sell. Awesome experience with Mike at the Phoenix Coin Shop! I’m new to coin collecting and searched Coin Shops and found Mike’s shop. First thing I noticed was that they had 300+ positive reviews so my son and I went to check it out! My son really likes coins and we found him a really cool Scottsdale Mint silver coin stacker with their Lion logo on it! He was so excited! I got something too! Mike treated us like family and helped us understand the basics of coin investing. He took his time with us and we didn’t feel rushed. They have the best prices when you’re buying and they pay the most when you’re selling! Definitely we will be back! WOW!!! I’m a brand new coin collector and I’ve been to many shops all over the valley and Phoenix Coin Shop is by far the best store I’ve been too!! I’ve made several visits and had the pleasure to talk with both Mike and Pat and both those guys went way over and beyond with customer service and helping me as much as they could!! Not only were they extremely patient with me with all my questions (with being a newbie) but they were so knowledgeable and explained to me everything I didn’t know or wasn’t sure about!! I just wanted to say to anyone thinking of selling their silver or gold should GO THERE!!! Today was my first time at the Phoenix coin shop selling and I have to say Mike the owner was SUPER AWESOME!!! He was very nice, didn't put any pressure on me to sell and he was extremely knowledgeable about all the vintage and antique gold jewelry I brought in. I went in thinking I was going to end up just taking everything back home, but I left being paid a few hundred dollars more than what I was hoping to go home with. Not your typical coin shop, so you won't find any bins of coins to sort through for face value but that don't mean they don't have them. You can ask for just about any coin or paper currency your looking for and they will bring them up to the counter for you to look at, whether you want graded or non graded, Circulated or non Circulated, silver or copper, old or new, they'll have it and don't forget to bring cash as this will be a cash only deal but just in case you forget, they do have ATM for your convenience.

I have been buying precious metals since 2008. I study the market daily and I buy various types of coins and bars monthly. I have lived in 3 states and have had dealings with 10+ coins shops over those years. I have had multiple conversations with the young owner of this shop. He is a quality person and it shows in the way he deals with my transactions. He is the most genuine dealer I have dealt with. I could instantly tell that he knows what he is talking about and he never tried to play any pricing games. He has a VERY good selection of products. I will not be buying from any other coin dealer in Phoenix as long as he has inventory. I do not buy any numismatic coins so I cannot speak for his knowledge in that arena.

It was a nice little shop and the young man who helped me seemed easy to talk to and nice. I brought in some pretty common coins and paper currency and got an offer somewhat lower than I was expecting and I decided not to accept. About a week later, I decided to take the same items to another location and was offered about $180.00 more. If you are looking buy coins to collect, then this place is probably a great place to make a purchase . However if you are just wanting to sell some silver or even gold coins and paper currency, this is probably not a good place to do so. You would be better off going to someone who deals with buying and selling precious metals. As I mentioned, the young man was very nice and courteous and it was a nice shop. I was most likely my own error in selecting the correct type of business.

This is by far the most respectful and down to Earth numismatist shop. The relaxed and laid back feel of the store hits you when you walk in. That being said, there is no shortage of professionalism. Mike Green, the proprietor of phoenix coin shop, is a young but extremely knowledgeable master of the coin universe. These days, most businesses leave a lot to be desired and unfortunately lack that human element that makes the customer feel like their family. Here it phoenix coin shop, you are treated exactly the same as you would expect to be treated as an immediate relative. Phoenix coin shop is by no means an enormous warehouse, such as Costco, but rather a "just around the corner" coin shop with an unlimited supply of knowledge in the patience necessary to go with it. Despite the fact that i bombarded Mike with questions, followed by questions, like a "Hooked on Phonics Gatling Gun"... he was able to remain extremely calm and unfazed while maintaining a level of respect that is virtually unheard of in 2006. Weather I am purchasing a single coin, selling A no longer warn piece of jewelry or purchasing bulk precious metals, this will be my one stop shop for as long as they remain standing. If you ever have the pleasure of doing business with Mike or phoenix coin shop, I promise it will be the first of many visits and the last time you go anywhere else!! Dealt with the owner on a few occassions. First class all the way. I was selling and he paid me more than others I've dealt with in the past. I can recommend without hesitation. Best advice I can give is set realistic expectations. It's a business with expenses. If you want 100% of the value you have to invest time and expense and sell it online yourself. Otherwise Phoenix Coin is your best choice for a coin/gold buyer in town.

I witnessed a dramatic incident unfold in Michael’s shop as I was waiting to sell some coins. A family came in frantically searching for their stolen heirlooms, which a member of their own family had sold at the shop. They were extremely relieved to find some of their items in Michael’s holding tray, but lacked the funds to buy them back. Michael first offered to sell the jewelry back at below melt value, but even that was $800, which was still more than the two women could afford. When they broke into tears, he just said: “You know what, Merry Christmas. Take them.” Needless to say, he gave me a fair price on my coins. Michael was knowledgeable, forthright, and efficient in his dealings. Such men are rare.
