I wanted to put my existing engagement stone into a new ring. I also wanted to trade in some jewelry that I don't wear in order to offset the cost of the new ring. Thank you Tim for being so much help!! I got my engagement ring else where and decided to go with morganite for my stone without being told how foggy it it would look with daily wear. They then told me they could not change the stone to anything else and were 0 help. Luckily I was told to go see Tim and right away I knew how much help he was going to be. He instantly told me it could be done and he would make it my dream ring and Tim 10000% came through with that promise. I would strongly recommend Powers Jewelry to anyone looking for exceptional service and great pricing on just about any piece of Jewelry. I have been working with Tim Metzenheim for the last few years. I usually stop in whenever I need a batteries replaced in my watch’s, and Tim has done an excellent job every time and didn’t push me to buy anything from him on any of those visits. He just asked that I keep him in mind whenever I’m looking to make a purchase down the road. When it came time to find the wedding bands for my upcoming wedding, there was only one choice. We scoped out the competition just to compare pricing and quality. In the end it wasn’t even close. The price of our bands, the resetting of my fiancé’s grandmothers diamond necklace, the earrings we purchased as well as a bridesmaid gift for our close friend were far more than we had ever spent in the past, but we did it all because of the level of service that Tim provides. Any time we are looking to purchase in the future we will only go to Powers. I would strongly suggest that anyone reading these reviews would do the same and ask for Tim.

Powers is hands down the BEST jeweler in Milwaukee. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and really provide exceptional service. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. My fiancé purchased my ring through a family jeweler on the west coast, but when I needed it resized I went to them on my fiancé’s recommendation. As someone that doesn’t wear rings daily, it’s been tough for me through summer and winter to find the right size as my fingers swell and condense with the Midwest weather. All the staff at powers have been so patient and generous through my trial and error as we sized it down in the summer, sized it down again this fall, and now need to size back up. While I’ve only been in a couple of times, I feel like the staff remembers who I am. Each time I’ve had my ring adjusted the turn around time is so fast! I’m never without it for long, which I greatly appreciate. Thank you Powers!

Walked into Powers Jewelry to see if they can remove watch links. I received great service and was greeted by the friendly staff members. Even though I wasn't there to purchase anything at the time, they still provided excellent service and were genuine. The link removal was done in fair time and for the cost of nothing. Definitely one of the 1st places I'm coming to when I need a piece of jewelry repaired or when I'm looking to purchase something in the future.

I have had an opportunity to work with Lorry Powers on several occasions for my jewelry needs. I came to Powers originally because I had experience owning a retail business and I enjoyed the tongue and cheek advertising aimed at quelching gimmick jewelry marketing and the concept that, with multiple stores, everyone is an owner. In fact, when you go into Powers, most of the people on the floor are family and stand up for for the quality of products in their store. They really do have a stake in the business so they want you to have a great experience. I'm not sure about others, but aside from a few experiences, I was not a regular around jewelry stores. I would probably be considered apprehensive, but I was put completely at ease and allowed to explain my ideas, while Lorry came up with numerous suggestions to meet my needs. In some cases my ideas involved custom work and they were willing and able to make the ideas work. In the photos below, I was fortunate to have another chance at marriage and I came to see Lorry about a ring for the occasion. I had some basic ideas and Lorry found several possibilities to meet the criteria. She was patient with me as I explored various diamond shapes and sizes and gave me room to make my choices instead of pushing something on me. At delivery time, the presentation was classy, the appraisal was ready and the GIA certification was presented. As you can see in the photos the ring was a total surprise and met with tears of enthusiasm. (She did say yes!) The only negative is that my fiancé had injured her finger prior to our engagement, and with all of the effort to find the right size, the ring only fit her little finger. A couple of days later my fiancé had to travel and we went to visit Lorry in the morning before the flight, thinking we would leave it off at the store for resizing. Lorry told us to have some coffee and her goldsmith got the job done before the flight. Overall I could not be happier with the experience at Powers Jewelers.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Powers Jewelry Designers for almost 40 years, back when they were on West Wisconsin Avenue. Very tiny budget at that time, but they treated me like I was spending a fortune. Because of this, my Powers purchases grew as my budget did. I was on a time crunch and have about a 25 minute drive to their location. I called in advance to ask what type of vintage pendants were available and I was walked through some options. The woman helping texted me pictures of a few and was able to help me choose an option. When I arrived about an hour later the piece was wrapped up and ready to go. I was extremely impressed at the willingness to go the extra mile for me. I am a definite promoter for this business, and always recommend to friends and family.

I went here looking for an engagement ring over lunch one day. I had been to the big box chains and wasn't really sold on the experience. I kept getting the feeling I was being pushed to make a decision quickly and the opportunity to customize was limited. Gregg was my sales rep and from the get go out was super low pressure. Having never done this, he asked a bunch of general questions to get an idea of what I wanted and told me everything can be customized based on what I wanted. Because I was trying to consider all aspects (matching wedding bands, diamond types, cost, etc...), he broke it down into a great process which made finding what I had in mind far easier. He was available every step of the way and suggested I take some time to think about it, which was refreshing since I didn't get that other places. He reiterated that on the off chance she didn't like the design (which she did) we had the option of swapping out the band or diamond. Again, not something the big box chains are willing to do without significant cost. Fortunately she is in love with it so not an issue! I'd definitely recommend at least stopping in if you're looking for an engagement ring.

Tim was wonderful - honest, experienced, no-pressure and worked with my fiancé’s budget to pick out a perfect ring - I love it. I also worked with Tim to resize the ring because I gave my fiancé the wrong ring size (or it may have changed). Tim was great, he advised me to go down a full size and I was worried it would be too tight but he was right, it is the perfect size now. Tim also made sure the ring was resized in the same day, per my request, which was great as I don’t know if any other jewelers would do that. After I picked up my ring, Tim told me to just call if I had any other questions or issues. Overall, both my fiancé and I had a great experience at Powers - and I doubt it would have been as positive if we went to a larger jewelry chain, local is the way to go.

He was able to have a wax molding made for us so that we could really be confident in the design. He was so patient with us as we were very specific. My then fiancé later went back to surprise me with a wedding band and he did a great job keeping it all under wraps. I recently had my favorite Oscar de la renta necklace break. Tim had is replaced promptly. I was in such a hurry when I picked it up he brought it out to my car! I don't know where else you could find service like this. Absolutely love Powers. We didn't feel pushed or pressured at all to hurry up and pick a ring. I went in once with my fiance to give him an idea of what I was looking for but he went back 4+ times to pick the center diamond and he didn't feel like any of the employees were annoyed or antsy for him to pick it out. They would send back diamonds and bring in new ones until he felt like he found "the one." They are very reasonable, willing to work with you and give you exactly the ring of your dreams. In July 2018 Dick Powers helped me decide on a very special ring which was to replace my wife's original wedding band. I gave my wife Susie this stunning custom designed, white gold overlap design ring with 64 brilliant cut round diamonds and a monster GIA Certified center diamond on Christmas Eve. She was speechless! My next trick was to get her to give up the ring so it could be sized.
