I would highly recommend this pawn shop. It’s been around for a long time and he’s very reputable and it was recommended to me and I will go here every time to get great stuff and great deals and sometimes visit and hang around to make cool people in the industry. Uncle Elliott, as I have come to crown him has the most trustworthy shop in town. Elliott and his team are friendly, helpful and completely trustful. The keyword here for me is trust. I've known Elliott and have stored my personal items in his shop for over 20 yrs. plus. A musician friend of mine told me to go there in my early stage of the music biz, to look for equipment. I did so, and I've been a true fan of the shop, and most of all "Uncle Elliott". Elliott is not only a shop owner, but a down to earth guy who looks out for your needs. Ahhhh…. Elliott Salter. When I was pooling all my resources to start my biz, I came to Elliott with my gold. I love this man! And his family! And his staff! They gave me a great loan on my stuff, were hysterical and sweet all at the same time, and have the coolest stuff to gaze upon in their shop. They always worked with me if I had a challenge so I could stay on track and get things paid down and, all the whole, were gracious the whole way. Pawn shop? Really, a people shop. Yes. Wow.. These cats are a real class act. I was immediately aware of just how professional this shop was when the item I brought in was gently overlooked and placed back in its case. In a confident tone the gentleman confirmed its make and model. I've been thru my fair share of loan shops and it's a 50/50 chance of walking out with something close to what you want. I couldn't have left any happier. No hassle, No manipulating and, No BS period. I left assured that my item was left in good hands. I can't say enough about the service and comaradity here. I bought a bike from here and I was very happy with the whole experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They let me look it over thoroughly and didn't pressure me at all. The tires wouldn't stay inflated, so they offered to cover the cost of taking it to a bike shop to fix. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

I love these guys, there are the nicest and kindest people you could possibly meet. I came in one time and i needed 250$ to dix my car, the item i brought in wasnt really worth 250 in a pawn and others like the world famous Zaks pawns shop shot me down and made me feel less of a person when i was there. But Elliotts pawn gave me the 250 and they never make me feel awkward for having to pawn, other pawn shops say they are the best but in all reallity elliots pawn is the fairest and most helpful pawn shop ive ever been to. They dont try and low ball you and hurt you just because your in a tough spot. They understand and will help you as much as they can. I very highly recommend elliots pawn!! Ive tried all of the other so called great pawn shops in hollywood and i promise you that elliot and his team will treat you the best and they treat you like family!!!! Excellent staff and Elliot himself is a national treasure. They’ll treat you fair, pay top dollar and your stuff is safe. The guys are knowledgeable, nice and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need. They gave lots of great merchandise for sale too, from gold to guitars, cameras to stereo gear and jewelry galore. I’d give them 6 stars if I could.

Anyone that uses pawn shop a lot like me knows that one of the most important things is...just to be treated well, and dealt with in a friendly-manner. A good pawn shop won't try to make you feel bad because you need a loan. A good pawn shop will use Ebay to determine a fair value for your item and not just try to low-ball you. A good pawnshop will learn your name if you do business often. Anyway, we're new to LA within the last 6 months, and so I was looking for a good pawn shop here I could trust to do biz with long-term and I am SO glad I went to Elliot Salter first. Not only was the pawn transaction good, but the guys were really cool and were *genuinely* friendly and I really appreciated that. Now after many months of going to them, I dare call them friends? I know it's LA, but these guys made me feel like home. Anyway, I wouldn't go anywhere else but Elliot's pawnshop. 9 stars!:-)

They're the best. I've only ever used 2 pawn shops in my entire life. Elliot Salter in L.A. and Aurora Loans in Seattle. I simply don't trust other places. Elliot and the staff are more like friends helping you out, than just a pawn shop. I'm totally serious! I like those guys a lot. They have helped me out when I was in emergency situations. They are fair, are truthful, and are easy to do something that nobody wants to have to do, but, we all find ourselves in situations. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Such a unique place! A pawn shop that also has the feel of something out of a Harry Potter movie set! Randomly found a guitar ad on OfferUp, and it was this store selling a guitar. I’m used to pawn shops being unreasonably priced, but the guitar I bought was such a good deal! As I was hanging out there, I looked at the price tag of the other guitars, everything was extremely fair in price. I will definitely go back for other gear. Also, the staff and particularly Elliot were welcoming and friendly.

They really came through for me. They were straight forward, fair, and empathetic to my situation. I would even go so far as to say they gave me added value on some items they sensed were difficult for me to part with just to make me feel better about the situation I found myself in. They have no interest in ripping anyone off or exploiting those who are down on their luck. If you forget the timing of the term on your loan, they’ll call. If you have misplaced your notes, they have copies of everything. They are helpful, organized, and care much more about relationships and giving someone a fair shake than they do about taking advantage of your situation. I suppose there are all sorts of people who find themselves selling their belongings at a pawn shop. And all sorts of reasons for doing so. I bet there are those who wake up each day, get dressed in their positivity pants and sell their things because they are buying nicer, more expensive things and they remember that old adage, 'one person's trash is another's treasure.' Well not me. I don't have pants. (I had to pawn them). And so we have the other type of person. Like me. Someone for whom life has happened rather harshly and in an effort to sustain and survive, we find ourselves selling sometimes precious belongings. While this may sound a dreadful and demoralizing endeavor...somehow at Elliot's, it is a pretty good time. As far as the prices, he makes more than competitive offers. If they feel they aren't the best place or don't have the appropriate audience for your item, they will point you in the right direction. The guys who work there are the best. Of course once you pawn or sell your its you are likely to spend the money before even leaving the shop. Between the tools, the musical instruments, the jewelry, the typewriters, the knives and the list goes on. Yay Elliott Salter's Pawn Shop.

This place is a palace of unique antiquities, trinkets, and high end valuables acquired from Hollywoods most elite when they were in the need of cash!!! You are always greeted by Elliot who has aged pretty well considering this joint has been here 50 years. His sidekick experts Dave, Joe and Mark are so knowledgable they should be on Jeopardy!
