Portsche’s designed a new ring for me in days and I could not be happier or more impressed with their service, my ring, or my experience. I wanted to update my diamond setting from a 6-prong to something more protective like a bezel setting. The first shop I went to said they could order a new setting, it’d take about 4 weeks, and it would cost up to $2000, however they would buy my “scrap” gold, being my current band. I then went to Portsche’s (whom I’d planned on going to first but didn’t know they’d moved to their new location on Idaho Street), and within minutes Philip was in front of his computer designing a new setting for me. He said he would use my existing band as material and build from it. On Monday I walked in to get an idea on price, by Tuesday I was trying on a wax mold, and on Wednesday I picked up a beautiful new ring, custom designed for me. All for about a quarter of the cost from the previous jeweler’s estimate! They created an elegant yet simple wide band with a low sitting bezel that both shows off and protects my diamond. I’m thrilled! It was a wonderful purchasing experience. I highly recommend Portsche’s Jewelry and their new shop is beautiful! Thank you Philip, Nick, and Jed!

Philip Portche has saved our engagement! My fiancé and I were having our wedding band made with a different jeweler, who took over 2 months to even start our ring. With our wedding less than 2 months away, We went to Philip to help, and he blew us away! We went in on a Saturday, and he called us saying it was done the following Thursday. 5 days??? I could not believe it, and it turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined! He is so wonderful to work with! He is so friendly! He just made our experience so incredible. I have the most beautiful engagement ring, but it is a very unique shape , which was making it really difficult to find a wedding band that matched and actually sat well under it. Although he is in a prime downtown location in a beautiful store, his pricing is still very reasonable and comparable to when I first brought him my ring modification over a decade ago. I was highly impressed with Philip at Portsche’s Fine Jewelry during my engagement ring shopping. He was attentive to my needs and most importantly budget. I was visiting another jeweler in town at the same time whom i gave the same information, and the result was less ring for much much more. Portsche’s is a hidden gem in downtown Boise. We first went in to look at engagement rings and worked with Beth, who is outstanding. The customer service at Portsche’s is excellent. Beth has great communication, wasn’t pushy, and genuinely enjoyed helping us select the perfect piece. They put their customers first and made this experience fun and special for both of us. Stopped in on my lunch to drop off a small platinum chain to be fixed, a gentleman named Phillip came out of the back and greeted me and asked how he could help. He said they were 3weeks behind, but said he could fix my chain in a few minutes while I waited, I was astonished and gladly waited legit 5min for him to fix it… I had been going to Fred Meyer Jewelers because I thought they were cheaper, they wanted to charge me $60 with a 3week send out for repairs. Portsches charged $40 and did it in 5min… I will be coming back to buy a Cuban link bracelet to give them more of my business. Please seek these fine people out and give them your business!

We were looking for 2 simple non-traditional rings that were good quality for our upcoming wedding. We went into Portsche’s not really expecting much. I also had my guard up, ready to deal with annoying sales people like you find and most jewelry shops that try to force you to buy something. But we walked in and we’re just allowed to look around in peace. The two women at the shop were very pleasant and just told us to let them know if we wanted to try anything on. Then we found the PERFECT rings for each of us. And they were very reasonably priced at about $300 each. This is the best experience I’ve ever had at a jewelry shop.

Been to a LOT of jewelry stores in the past few months, here's why I went with Portsche's on my good but limited budget: 1. Jed and Phil (lead sales and owner, respectively) were extremely supportive, knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. They do a lot of custom work, so were able to steer me straight on a wedding ring despite me not really knowing exactly what I wanted. 2. Integrity, and Quality of work. They had several opportunities to sell me something that would have been more expensive and fine with me, but they really respected my money and actually recommended a less expensive option based on my requirements. I was thrilled with the quality of work they did, and as they said all along the way, they would take care of things if there was any kind of problem. Wasn't needed. 3. Service-focused. I had a piece of herloom jewelry that I was giving my daughter, and I asked if they could clean it and help me pick out a nice box to put it in. Not only did Jed totally "take it from there" and they cleaned a complex piece (blossom necklace) perfectly, he got a high-quality display box that really set the piece off beautifully, and my daughter was thrilled. Overall, from the second I walked in just to look, to the second visit where I felt respected and truly helped, to the final checkout and pickup of my items, both of which I am thrilled with, Jed and Phil were simply true professionals, and made an expensive process perfect.

Within a few minutes Philip Portsche had asked me the right questions and had created a CAD representation of a style that used my existing stones and fit me and my lifestyle perfectly. He was also very polite and personable. In the week that had passed Beth was able to find an even better setting than the ones I had been looking at with her before. She was clearly on the same page. Philip was also able to see my vision and our meeting actually didn't take very long. Lastly, they were able to get the setting in and custom work done within 2 days. That was an incredible relief given the tight schedule I was on: having had the proposal already scheduled. I'm thoroughly impressed with the amount of micro-detail that went in to customizing the ring, especially given the quick turnaround. Great work, Philip! I had a wonderful experience with Portche's. I brought in a ring that I wanted to have rough edges smoothed out and also to have them look at the prongs as they caught on everything. Between these two issues the ring was almost unwearable. The staff was very helpful, and upfront about what they could do to fix these issues and how much it would cost. Upon picking up the ring I was wowed by their work. The ring is now comfortable and the prongs are not only more secure but they also show off the gems more. Additionally I brought in some jewelry I dont wear but have had for years and had it remade into an anniversary band. The staff was so helpful with ideas and did not try to upsell me. I recommend them wholeheartedly for anyone looking for a new piece of jewelry or to take care of a precious piece you already own.

He was very interested in helping us find what was best for us instead of pushing a "trendy" and "popular" ring on us that wasn't our style like some of the other box jewelers do. My partner stepped on my glasses one morning, leaving one of the arms completely bent. The metal part that connected to the frames and the arm was nearly destroyed and I was told by several frame shops and optical repair places that it would be impossible to fix. I was beginning to loose hope; these glasses were an extremely lucky find in a thrift shop that I had my prescription put into. I wasn’t ready to loose them and I’m also blind and don’t have contacts. One of the workers at an optical shop suggested a jeweler, which is how I found myself at Portsche’s. The people working there were EXTREMELY kind and helpful. The jeweler took one look at my bent glasses and said he could have it done while I wait. I sat down, and not 5 minutes later he came back having completely fixed my frames. This dude was magic. They were patient, kind listeners who took my bad day and turned it into an interesting lesson (go to jewelers for help on glasses!). I cannot praise this place enough. They helped an overhwhelmed, distraught girl having a bad day in such a wonderful way. My day was noticeably better because of how sweet they were to me. Love the atmosphere. Love the people. Now I won’t freak out if my glasses break, I can trust these wonderful humans with the help. And that comfort is priceless.
