Marvin was very friendly and knowledgeable in his service to my wife and I and took the time to explain the process of the refinement of the gold that we had brought him. He took the time to show us every step he was taking of the method he used and we were blown away on the chemical steps he used to bring out the gold in any of the material we brought to him. I thought at just looking at the jewelry we brought him that there wasn't very much gold. But through the refinement process Marvin used, he brought out more gold then we ever could have imagined. We were very pleased with the knowledge and professionalism that Marvin showed us. As well as entertained with his worldly stories and experience. Marvin was magnificent and a gentleman. He gave us the best deal. We couldn't have asked for anything better. This man and his service as second to none. Marvin is a proud Veteran of the United States Military. By far one of the best experiences I have ever had! I did not have a large amount of gold that’s for sure! But Marvin was awesome. I got to learn about the process of separating the other metals from the gold. He has these high tech X-ray machines that tell the percentage of gold vs the other metals. I called 3 others before I found this place and the 2 that answered weren't very kind and low balled me for my gold off the bat. I came across Marvin’s shop after a quick google search. It was the only site that had a large amount of species on what his site specialized in. He was super knowledgeable and friendly. I had a gold ring and some dental gold and he gave me all the facts even though I was an obvious dummy on the subject. Had called him early on Sunday morning, he had called me back in the matter of 10 minutes! & Informed us he doesn't answer unknown numbers just because he gets alot of spam calls! The banter beetween him and his wife is funny and kinda feels like home the store is a little intimidating from the outside which they quickly make up for with a warm greeting and great prices and conversation. I went in to take care of some material from estate of my mother. I had NO problem with either the owner and his wife. Both were pleasant, informative, helpful, and professional. In todays world, I can find no fault with any person in business that wants to test the quality of a material before they buy it. I feel I have complete faith in the final analysis of the material, and the true market value at the time the deal was closed. If I had other material that would need to be analyzed and sold, I would not give a second thought to make the close to 300 mile drive to their location. As far as the lady that has an MBA and supposedly a little common sense, if you are going to deal with something with metals, it may be better to go directly to a location. If you are getting $25 more then others offer, that is still more. I guess you want the kitchen sink added as part of the deal. Or maybe go back to your MBA courses, and see where you missed out on any common sense part of the course.

I called Marvin at his shop and he let me swing by even though they had just closed down minutes prior. Met Marvin yesterday for the first time. He took time out of his day to go above and beyond to help me understand some aspects of precious metals that I had questions about. I remember the world before the internet, this was good old-fashioned customer service. All of these reviews griping about his firearm are some pathetic combination of comical and sad. He is armed. So what. He understands that he, and he alone, is the sole arbiter of his own personal safety, and by extension, the safety of his customers. I am always armed. We were both armed. It was very safe in there. Any fool that feels uncomfortable because a bullion dealer is armed is of questionable mental capacity to ratiocinate plausible scenarios that could unfold if the opposite were true. Having poked my head into a few places around the Valley, Marvin is an order of magnitude above everyone else in terms of customer service and inventory. He is the only dealer in the Valley capable of utilizing spectral analysis to determine authenticity and purity. Marvin not only showed me fake bullion that people have tried to sell, but proved it was fake. I am telling you that most of the samples could not have been determined to be counterfeit by the naked eye. Some were in "tamper-evident packaging" and were still fake. I won't buy from anyone else if I am buying locally. There was no subjectivity in the approach to determining price over spot. We looked it up online with an industry standard index, it was what it was. Buy from someone else at your own risk.

The owner let me cherry pick Walking Liberty halves to fill holes in my collection. Then we went through grading together and priced from them from the lates pice list. The next day he took my gold, melted it all into a “rock” and did a spec annalysed. I saw the actual gold content. No guess work. No middle man. “I’ll be back”.

I talked with the owner for a while about to try and decide between buying gold or silver, I have a fair understanding of how difficult it can be to inform anyone who is curious about something new to them, but is very familiar to yourself, every day, if it leads to a sale or not (which you can expect from the owner here), and it definatly seperates the moral and truely knowledgable from the misleading and fradulant folks which have become so common and easy to find, so I was pleasantly surprised as i have come to expect the latter. I can only go by my judgment but I asked about it while in the store and my judgement of the two stories and my experience says the review Chris left is BS and hes probably still trying to hustle his fake coin somewhere, so beware Boisians! :)

Dropped by because of the location to sell some silver rounds. I almost went elsewhere to get a slightly better price on my rounds, but he ended up cutting his mark down and giving me a little intro to the quality of many of the silver rounds that float around the market locally and the testing he does to assure quality of what he buys and sells. You might be able to find better prices in absolute terms locally, but his prices are very comparable to other sellers, and better than many. Selection of silver rounds and other coins seems to be much better than anything else I've seen. 5 star review for the information, selection and reasonability of the proprietor.
