Thank you Gerald for being the best part of the Diamonds Direct team. My experience with Gerald was one of the most informative experience that I’ve ever had at Diamonds Direct. I’ve made many purchases here an none of them can remotely come close to my experience with Gerald. He spent over 2 hours with me educating me on my purchase. His communication and attention to details far exceeded my expectations. He’s very knowledgeable on the diamonds that he shows. If you ever have the opportunity to go to Diamonds Direct please ask for Gerald you will not regret it I GUARANTEE IT. Moving forward I will only buy from Gerald. I've got to be real here... if you need rings, I HIGHLY recommend Diamonds Direct . My wife's rings turned out so good, I cried when I opened the box. My husband and I went to Diamonds Direct located in Mountain Brook village looking for a gift for our daughter in law. We had the extreme pleasure of working with Andrew Parker who was amazing. Thankfully, my wife suggested coming to Diamonds Direct, where we met Brandon. He was knowledgeable, personable, and honestly, just a cool, fun-loving dude. We rescinded our previous order and moved forward with Brandon because of his outstanding service. The diamond turned our great, no doubt—but Brandon absolutely won our business. Dee was our salesperson and she was wonderful! She explained everything about diamonds. My husband and I were replacing a solitaire engagement ring, because the stone fell out of the ring. The ring was purchased somewhere else and the only insurance on it was through the store and it had to be inspected twice a year (June and December). My husband had covid in June of last year and I had forgotten to have it inspected and lost the stone in September. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and Dee was so patient with me. I wanted to use my wedding ring with my new engagement ring. Diamonds Direct was able to fit my old wedding ring to my engagement ring. I’m very pleased and will definitely ask for Dee when I make another purchase. I also have purchased insurance for my new ring after learning a valuable lesson.

Cannot recommend this place, and more specifically Katy Rose enough. Coming from a guy who did not know the least bit about engagement rings, Katy Rose took what could have been one of the most stressful purchases of my life, and turned it into one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. She was not just sweet, informative, and patient, but thoughtful towards who the ring was for and my price point. Utilizing the incredible resources that Diamonds Direct has to offer, we were able to look at all cuts and sizes of diamonds, shipped from all of the country, until we found the perfect one. Katy Rose made each visit easier than the last, being offered champagne, beer, soda, and inspecting beautiful jewelry in a casual laid back environment. I could go on and on about the selection Diamonds Direct has, or the competitive pricing, layaway program and 0% financing options, but it would be a disservice to not give bulk of credit to Katy Rose. She enjoys what she does, and that makes all the difference. I only wish I could find a "Katy Rose" for all of life's biggest decisions. Regardless, she has made me a Diamonds Direct customer for life.

Wow! So incredibly grateful for the blessing they were to me yesterday. I would like to preface this by saying that this past week has been a tough week with a lot of downs and a whirlwind of emotions. About a month ago the chain on my favorite necklace that my sisters gifted me broke, so I thought that one thing that I could get done this week to help me feel better was to get my necklace fixed. As I was there, I was told that my chain could not be fixed because it was so worn out and that the only way it could be fixed was by getting a new chain. This of course brought my hopes down because I knew I couldn’t afford to buy a new chain. Saddened, I took my necklace back and was getting ready to leave when Tim Price asked to see my necklace and took it to the back. He came back with my cross pendant on a brand new chain, he wanted to take care of me that day. I left the store and cried on the way home, I couldn’t believe it and I am so so grateful! The Lord definitely had Tim there at a time when I needed my spirits to be lifted, he completely made my week! Today we picked up my 30th anniversary wedding set and I was blown away with the finished product! It's even more beautiful than I imagined. We worked with Brittany at the Mountain Brook location and could not have been more pleased. Brittany was knowledgeable, professional and friendly-she was just a pleasure to work with. As a wedding photographer, I see lots of engagement rings and wedding sets, so I thought I knew what I wanted when I went in for my first visit to Diamonds Direct. Brittany patiently worked with me helping me find a center stone that was just right, even ordering a stone from another location. I ended up going back a second time and changing my mind about the style of ring I wanted and Brittany easily changed courses with us and helped to come up with the perfect setting for the diamond we selected. She even suggested we go with a custom design when I liked aspects of two different settings. I must admit that the process of selecting a diamond and then a setting and band was a bit overwhelming. I was nervous about seeing the finished set but it surpassed my expectations! Thank you, Brittany. I know that I wouldn't have this perfect ring without your expertise!

I just had such an amazing experience here! I brought them my own stone to ask about getting it mounted in a ring. To my surprise, they told me they did custom ring design for free. I loved the idea, as my partner isn’t exactly a traditional person and I loved the thought of getting a ring for her as unique as she is. Paige Leonard not only helped me focus in on my wants and communicate with the designer, but she also made sure that the ring was finished and ready for me very quickly, as I had a date in mind. The ring is gorgeous, and my fiancée was blown away by it. Paige was amazing throughout the process, too. She communicated with me every step of the way in terms of design feedback, sending me renderings, keeping me up to date with the making and shipping, everything. She very obviously cared about my happiness with the process, even well after she’d made the sale. After visiting several stores that could not come on board with her vision, she visited Diamonds Direct in Cahaba Village, met Paige Taylor, and immediately was impressed and relieved that not only was her vision to be realized, but was encouraged. We were told that the ring could take up to 6 weeks to be completed and delivered. Since the order was made in November, just before Christmas, we thought it might be a pipe dream to have it by Christmas. I called in, spoke to Paige, and she made it happen. Due to the Valentines holiday coming 3.5 weeks later, he said it may or may not get done before 2/14/21. So we did not hear a word from him EVER AGAIN. Not a word. After 6 weeks I reached out to the store for an update. I was told the ring was already built and was on site. We were shocked. We had not even seen the stone yet. When we arrived at the store we were directed to work with a Absolutely WONDERFUL young lady named Genesis. She explained that she was not yet a sales associate but worked in another area. She was wonderful. We had every ounce of the attention we felt DDs reputation demanded. She was thorough, stayed in contact, kept up updated and we went on to have a custom band created to match the engagement ring. I spoke to a VP on site and told him this story and pleaded for him to PLEASE promote Genesis to the sales floor. She made the experience what I would expect from a store like DD. Charlie provided a lack luster quality of service. This is a disgrace to the DD reputation. Genesis saved to day and the deal!!! I would recommend you ask for her by name! You will be ecstatic with the service you receive! If we had felt with her from the start, I would give them 5 stars!

We both had searched online at various retailers, looking for designs/styles that we liked, and decided to visit a traditional brick-and-mortar so that we could look at rings in person. So the actual salespeople at diamonds direct are great. And the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1. They helped my fiance design a custom ring exactly to his specifications and helped me order a custom wedding band to match when the time came. HOWEVER - we had problems with both jewelers and a manager. They made my engagement ring incorrectly even after the design had been drawn up and finalized and when we asked them to fix it they said no can do. They would not fix it but only offered to completely reverse the purchase which would mean losing the ring and starting over from scratch with another jeweler after months of work. They said the changes we wanted would scratch the stone but they never contacted my fiance to tell him the agreed upon design/drawings would not work and they needed to make changes, so I think it's BS and the manager was just digging his heels in (especially because I've seen rings with claw prongs instead of the stupid balls all over the place.) Then, despite the order being placed correctly and paid for, they did not make my wedding band correctly and I ended up having to get the correct ring made in a rush order the week before my wedding, take time off of work on two separate days and my fiance had to take time off of work because the ring wasn't ready when promised. The salespeople were great and tried their best to give us what we wanted but I will NEVER work with this company again because of the poor communication, disrespect, and multiple errors made by the jewelers that they made no effort to rectify. They were very condescending and unhelpful when we talked to them. It's like they just don't care. UPDATE: After I posted this review I was contacted by the VP regarding my issues. We went back in to see what could be done and they worked on my ring in store immediately and offered to completely remake the ring if I am not happy with the changes they were able to make in-store. I am happy they are trying to work with us and get my ring fixed now, but I wish it had been taken care of a year ago without all of the drama. I will say they do appear to want to make their customers happy and (hopefully) we just had an unlucky set of experiences and run-ins.

How jewelry shopping should be! I was in search of an engagement ring for my girlfriend of 5 years. I had been to several smaller jewelry stores and did not have the best experience. We were greeted with a personal attendant and offered an adult beverage (perhaps to calm the nerves). I recently purchased an engagement ring from Michael at Diamonds Direct. I couldn't be happier with my experience and would recommend it to anyone. Michael was extremely helpful in explaining every single part of the process as well as answering every question that we had. Michael spent an hour showing us what seemed like hundreds of rings trying to make sure that we saw every option possible. He took notes and gathered information throughout the entire time we were there. I went back to the store later by myself to put down an initial payment so Michael could begin to build the ring. Once again, I was very happy with the quality of the customer service and attention to detail. Michael had all the notes from my previous visit on file and was able to pick up right where we left off. I was told the ring would take 4-6 weeks to be completed and ready for pickup, but ended up only taking a little over 2 weeks. I proposed a little over a month ago and my fiancé couldn't have been happier with the ring. It is exactly what we both wanted and was perfect in all aspects. I would recommend Diamonds Direct over going to a smaller retailer because I felt like I knew exactly what I was getting, there were no uncertainty that the staff was there to provide me with the highest quality product and not there to try and squeeze every extra dollar out of me that they could. Again, I couldn't be happier with the experience and end product I received as a customer. 10/10 rating without a doubt.

My fiance surprised me with the most amazing custom made ring from a small jeweler in Macon, Ga. It's the most precious and beautiful thing that I've ever been given. Unfortunately, due to it's shape and uniqueness, a matching band was not available and we would have had to purchase a band that wasn't going to match it exactly without spaces in-between the band and engagement ring. It was literally 1/3 of the price my fiance was budgeting for and that made room to have budget to get the matching band for our one year! I have loved Diamonds Direct since I first stepped in the Birmingham store several years ago. I was with a friend looking for her son and the staff was so courteous to both of us and I thought the prices and quality were great! I have since referred everyone to check out Diamonds Direct before they buy engagement rings. My son in law bought my daughter's ring from them and they were so helpful in many ways to him. Most recently, my son who was deployed in the Middle East with the Navy, bought an engagement ring for his finance' from Diamonds Direct at my suggestion. Ken and Olga were so helpful since we had to FaceTime for him to see it and approve since he was still overseas at the time. After coming home from a 9 month tour, the engagement was broken due to the long absence. We understood that their policy was not to reimburse in full, but to be able to trade in the diamond for another one of 10% more after one year, which is very generous. But in this situation, he had a ring sitting in a lock box when he could have used the money for all the expenses of moving and starting in a new place stateside. I wrote Mr. Berger to tell him of the situation and he graciously overruled their policy and reimbursed my son the full amount! I am eternally grateful to Mr. Berger and Diamonds Direct for going over and above to help out my Navy son in his situation. Living in Las Vegas, I was on the fence as to whether I should use Diamonds Direct in Birmingham to purchase wedding bands or a local jeweler here in town. Jeana called me and informed me that although the new set was almost double the price of the original set, that Ken insisted that since it was their mistake, they were not going to charge me anything additionally. Gerald went above and beyond helping me and my fiance pick out an engagement ring that we liked in our budget. As it was a custom piece, there were several back and forth emails and he was always quick to respond and always had several options and ideas. I had to go by and pick up a receipt and Gerald was off that day, but had come in and was responding to emails. Dealing with them after the ring order has been awful. The only thing I have to prove I even made a downpayment and ordered the ring is the receipt they gave me day of order. I've called and talked to multiple people just to check the status of the order and each person gives you a different answer. Very disappointed, I came here mainly for the customer service Everything says they should be open currently but when I call it goes to a "sorry we missed you please leave a message" recording, but the recording plays on a loop and it never allows you to leave a message. I waited to see how long the loop would play and it eventually gives a "goodbye" message and hangs up. Edit: The manager reached out and explained some technical difficulties on the phone and was very apologetic. Pick up service was also very good, just recommend some email tracking of the order. The ring does look amazing.

On my first visit, Michael Bass spent at least 3 hours with me going over myriad options and being extremely patient in answering my questions. I would like everyone a story about our wonderful experience at Diamond's Direct. My wife and I went in there to "upgrade" our wedding rings for our 5th anniversary. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile by Olga. I gave Olga a semi challenging budget to work with for my wife's ring, which I thought could have been challenging to get the ring that she wanted. But no problem for Olga. She catalogs were whipped up quick fast and my wife got busy choosing the perfect setting and diamond. We got to learn about what sets each diamond apart and why the prices could potentially be quite different. I even got to use the small magnifying glass that you have to hold so closely to your eye (which fulfilled a very small bucket list item from my childhood). I felt like a journeyman gemologist after the sit down. I DID NOT HAVE A HUGE BUDGET! I mention that, because Olga and staff took their valuable time to treat me like a MILLION DOLLAR client on a $5k budget. The sit down, the coaching, the diamond sampling and viewing. We felt important, like we were the most important clients in the room. There were at least 20 other clients in the building. We could have very easily been hurried along. But we weren't. I will always shop for my jewelry needs at Diamonds Direct - Birmingham. They DO NOT disappoint. The service is consistent, as I have made several purchases there. Give Olga a call for your First Class customer service needs, regardless of your budget.

Had a good experience buying a very last-minute gift for my wife. My salesperson seemed a little preoccupied, but was knowledgable and helped me to make up my mind. I ended up buying something my wife's loved as a fair price and the diamond is a much higher quality than I found at other stores. Overall, I'm happy with my experience. I think the service was really a 4 star experience, but the quality of the diamond and overall selection swayed me to rate them higher.

Being the skeptic I am, I researched it all myself to make sure it wasn't a sales pitch, and was happy to find out that there was nothing sneaky going on. Then, due to me wanting to put a pear shape into a setting that was made for a round diamond, they sent me AMAZING engineering CAD drawings of what that same ring would look like with a pear shaped diamond. I hate to give less than 5 stars in any situation, but I just left this business and felt very manipulated. I thought I was picking out a ring that really pushed my limit as far as affordability. Then the sales representative, John, said now this is the price with a cubic zirconia main diamond. I asked him to bring out diamonds in the $500 price range he brought out diamonds ranging from $3200 - $5,000. I even took the time to specifically tell him the price range I was looking for and cautioned him not to try to upsell me to a $6,000 ring. I was blown away. What a scam! On a positive note the facility was clean and well-organized. The staff is very professional and polite. Even John, though he did exactly the opposite of what I asked, was pleasant and courteous. If you're on a tight budget, stay away from this place.

I didn’t have a very good experience with Diamonds Direct. MY GF and I went first, just to look, and we were both made to feel uncomfortable and untrusted. Some of the sales staff made her feel uncomfortable when I had to walk off for a minute, which I didn’t know until she told me after we left. When I went back, it was made it clear that they really couldn’t do anything within my budget (under 3k) with the specifics I was looking for. They only showed me ONE ring, a pre-set, that would work, and said anything else like I was looking for would be out of my budget by the time I got the setting and diamond. They suggested I could change the style, buy I knew the style that I was looking for, and wasn’t going to change it. I still wasn’t sure where I was going to get the ring, or if I needed to raise my budget, so I applied for their 0% financing anyway, just to be sure, which was a mistake too. The way it was done through the bank, it tied up my credit through that bank, and I couldn’t finance a ring at another jewelry store that also used that bank. I didn’t find this out until I had picked the ring from somewhere else, and was trying to finance it, and couldn’t. I had to go back to Diamonds Direct to get the whole issue straightened out. While I was there, they tried to change my mind, assuring me they could meet my budget, and questioned the quality of what I had ordered from the other place. I told them I wasn’t going to change my mind, that I had ordered the ring, but I need the bank issue fixed. It was a big hassle that I had to go through for something that should have been fun and exciting and happy. I can’t say if they could have actually been able to meet my budget or not, but after these issues, they had already had two chances, and I had already ordered the ring. They really need to train their sales staff better, and make sure people are made to feel welcome there. I wouldn’t recommend Diamonds Direct. If you are in the Birmingham area, go to Levy’s downtown. I had a much better experience there, and that is where I ultimately ended up buying the ring. Because they fixed the bank issue quickly, and called me to let me know, I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. The staff was very apologetic for this issue, and made sure it was cleared up quickly once it was understood what the issue was. Shop Local at Levy's (which is where I found the right ring), or even go to Jared. Both places offered a much better experience than Diamonds Direct. Update: Yoni called me personally, apologizing again for the experience we had, and that it was not the usual experience at all. He assured me that they could have done what I wanted in my budget. Because I have already ordered the ring from somewhere else, I don't know that for sure. While I cannot change my experience, I can give them credit for following up and trying to make it right. I will say this, which goes without saying anyway, do your research, be prudent and shop around. This follow up is why they went from 2 to 3 stars.

Due to a prolonged illness, and recent surgery, I was not able to get out, so I called Emily at Diamonds Direct and as always, she came through! My wife was SO excited and surprised!. Emily has been our “go-to” source for jewelry for a number of years now. And there’s so much more... A few years ago, for our 18th anniversary, I wanted to do something special for my wife. For about 15 years or so my wife had been wearing her grandmother’s engagement ring as a replacement for her engagement ring and wedding bands. The reason - we had a really, truly, terrible, unforgivable experience with another local jewelry store when wife's engagement ring and diamond, paired wedding bands were “lost” (although UPS and store video said otherwise) after being “sent out” to be re-mounted. After that “loss” we thought that we would never trust another jewelry store. As a result, the rings and diamonds were not replaced for over 15 years. But, Emily changed all that. When we learned that the “Emily” that grew up with our children now worked at Diamonds Direct we went to see her. Emily took her time with us and helped us design an incredibly beautiful, “just right”, rose gold eternity band as a replacement for the lost rings and, of course, as a celebration of our anniversary. Earlier this year, for Mother's Day and as a remembrance of her mother, I wanted to give my wife a special “butterfly” ring but I wasn’t sure how to do this. Once again we turned to Emily. She very patiently helped us to design a beautiful, very delicate, “double butterfly” rose gold ring with a number of tiny diamonds on one of the butterfly’s wings. Many life-like computer graphic-generated preliminary designs went back and forth between Emily and my wife until the final design was chosen. Then, Emily made sure the finished product was not just what we had imagined but that it actually exceeded our expectations. So, do we recommend Diamonds Direct? You bet we do! I had really high expectations for Diamonds Direct. We had heard great things and were prepared to purchase a piece of jewelry on the spot. We were extremely disappointed in our experience one we got there. It was very, very crowded (which was not the problem), but the store clearly did not have enough staff to assist the large amount of customers. We stood at the counter with no greeting for about 20 minutes. Once we were greeted, the first words out of our associate's mouth was the fact that they closed in about 30 minutes. We were never offered any beverage, and were really felt very rushed. Bottom line - we felt like a number. Diamonds Direct is like the Wal-Mart of jewelry stores. Move em in - and move em out as quickly as possible. Next time - we'll pay a little more to get better attention.

I went in with my fiancé knowing the setting style I liked and my fiancé's budget, but I was a little worried our budget would be too low for what I liked. However, Ben showed me a setting in the style that I love, AND it was much lower than anticipated! Ben also picked out a beautiful diamond to place into the ring. We were in there for about two hours, but it didn't feel that long. We felt that Ben genuinely cared, we weren't rushed or pressured into anything, and we were offered the previous weekend's discount that we didn't know about! I recommend Diamonds Direct to any soon-to-be engaged couple, and don't forget to ask for Ben!

I visited Diamonds Direct during an event they were having last weekend. The store was sparkling clean and well organized. This in itself was amazing since they were jam-packed with customers. I was afraid that I would be ignored since they were so crowded that day. I was promptly greeted, the layout of the store was explained, and I was given the opportunity to browse while I waited for a salesperson to become available. After a few minutes, Mary greeted me with a smile. She gave me the most informative presentation I have ever received ANYWHERE for ANY PRODUCT. She spent over an hour with me even though they were incredibly busy. I thought I knew a lot about diamonds since I've been considering purchasing one for over a year. I'm one of those people who research things to death before I make a purchase. Of course Mary explained the 4 C's... But that was only the beginning. She explained to me how each of the 4 C's were related. Mary encouraged me to consider the cut above all. I found this odd because I felt like this was the LEAST important of the 4 C's. Then she not only TOLD me, but SHOWED me, how boosting the criteria for cut could allow me to make small sacrifices in Color or Clarity without affecting the beauty of the diamond. This would allow me to buy a larger diamond than I thought I could afford. They had diamonds of all varying qualities of all 4 C's. But since I was on a smallish budget, I knew that I had to make sacrifices somewhere. I ended up taking Mary's advice. The diamond I selected is much more beautiful than anything I have seen in a similar price range at other stores. I also never felt pressured like I did at a couple of other places.

I went with my wife to look for a budget minded ring for our 16th anniversary. Pros: Very well trained, nice people who offer you coffee, water or wine when you walk up to the counter. Lots of shiny things. Cons: There is noooothing in this building that is even remotely classified as "a good deal" unless you consider a 20K ring for only 15K a bargain. It has its buyers market being off 280, but it was more of a Oh, MY GOD moment that a place to buy.

I knew NOTHING about Diamonds before I bought my fiancé's engagement ring. I walked into Diamonds Direct because my friend bought his from there and told me to check it out. I did a little research before I went and learned that, according to most folks, Rachel Shields was the person to get. I almost typed "salesperson" in that last sentence, but that would be doing her injustice. Rachel and I talked more like ordinary people and at zero point did I feel pressured to buy. Now, I say she spoke with me just like a friend, but she was a friend with every bit of knowledge possible regarding diamonds. She taught me everything that I needed to know in about 30-45 minutes. I told her my price range and what I was looking for. She left me alone for about two weeks and then emailed me saying that she believes she found the perfect diamond (it was in another state and she had it shipped in). I went in and she had done just that. This thing is so freaking perfect (I already proposed (on April Fool's Day)) and my Fiancé is just blown away by it. The two weeks that I waited for Rachel to find the exact perfect diamond really meant a ton for me. That shows that Rachel wasn't so eager to get a sale that she was trying to push anything on me. She took her time, looked around carefully, and really took to heart the description I was looking for. Now, I'm sure if somebody out there is in a rush she can find something that will work for you very quickly, but for me I had as long as it took to find the perfect rock. Everything went perfectly. I'm serious, there were ZERO hiccups. If I could give her a bonus star I would - 6/5 stars!! -Carl Two words of wisdom for anybody reading this and thinking about buying a ring: 1) make an appointment. Rachel is the best so you can't just expect her to juggle hoards of people. Don't take it as an insult if you walk in and she is busy. You need to make an appointment so your time can be special. I promise she will dedicate her time to you. You won't want her leaving you ten times to speak with others while you are in there, so don't expect her to do it to others. 2) Make sure you talk with your Bank/Credit Card Company before you make that big purchase. I forgot and had to put a dollar less than my daily limit on my Debit Card and then the rest on the Credit Card. No biggie but just figured I would spread the word.
