By far the best coin dealer in Western NC, I've never been treated with more kindness and hospitality. Its amazing the patience Les has and how laid back he is. This man has sat and used his precious metal verifier to check dozens and dozens of coins i owned for free and was more than happy to do so. His prices are more than fair and I've seen what he pays people selling and he pays more more than anyone else locally that I have seen. Also he doesn't care if you spend $10 or $1000. Les has personally told me its not about the money. There are times I've spent $5 and times I've spent $1300. If you are looking for a coin shop, look no further. This is the one. Forget Wrights, Black Mountain coin.... these places are simply ripoffs and scams for older folks who haven't found the internet yet. I want to personally thank Les for being such a great guy and running an honest business and not trying to take advantage of older folks or new people just getting into numismatics.

I wanna leave a perfect review for Les Stevenson. I came in with No knowledge of the coins an silver certificates I brought, but I left with more knowledge of what I brought than I ever expected. Also now know how to buy in the future an how to start grading some of my own at home. Les was very professional an tried his best to not hurt my feelings but at the same time give it to me straight. Came in here and bought 6 silver certs and a 1974-S Proof IKE. Nice store, beautiful coins and good selection for collectors. For stackers such as myself, you won’t find much near spot. Still a great store to check out in asheville.

This is the go-to coin store and antique money dealer in WNC. Les has always treated me with respect and has great deals on the coins I love. There have been numerous occasions that I have found myself simply hanging out in his shop talking with him and the customers that flow in. Everyone that comes through seems to be comfortable there and I enjoy the opportunity to hear stories and motivations from other collectors. It is rare to find a coin store (or any business for that matter) that is run by such a friendly and genuine person. I value having discovered him and I would do business with him even if his store was a half-days drive away.

Being a coin collector from the Asheville area, I can't believe I had never set foot in here until now. Mr. Stevenson was very respectable, knowledgeable, and pleasant to have a conversation with. The shop was very different from the "search through the bin" shops, and I could tell they value quality over quantity. That doesn't mean the prices aren't fair. Shops like these with friendly and fair dealers beat online auctions any day. I will definitely come back around!

They also give the best deals when they buy stuff from the public. Always informative about coins. They treat the customers with great customer service, and respectfully and will most likely always make you laugh a few times while you are there. They also carry more extremely rare coins that most dealers will not even have available. When I started coin collecting and bullion stacking. I had no idea what I was doing. The great thing was even with my first dealings with them I never was over charged. Which some other dealers did try to do and I overpaid for a few things, before I knew what i was doing, but not here!. I buy a lot of coins and gold and silver bullion. So having people who are enjoyable to be around and fair prices. Makes my buying experience one which i look forward to doing. Les and Van run hands down the best coin shop in WNC!!! I've yet to find a coin dealer anywhere in the country I like better. So glad to have them as a business and part of our community. Keep up the good work fellas!!! Took my 85yr old Mom to meet Les' handsome 91yr old Dad but since my mom lives in the UK, i just don't think it's going to last.....!
