I literally came in with no knowledge whatsoever. I had never bought any jewelry, let alone something as important as an engagement ring. An old friend of mine, who is a jeweler himself, recommended Spicer Greene. He put me in touch with Heather Fisher, she answered all of my questions, and guided me through the whole process. I'm pleased to say that my love was shocked at how beautiful the ring is, and literally everyone who has laid eyes on it gives her a compliment. The 3 month layaway plan was a huge help too. I simply couldn't have gotten a ring this unique and beautiful anywhere else, especially within my price range.

Spicer Greene is simply the best. Their ability to both make entirely custom pieces and customize existing pieces is top notch. I had a completely custom vision for my engagement ring with a unique moody/dark sapphire and they said, “sure, we can do that!” It turned out even better than I imagined and I get sooo many compliments on it. I also wanted a flat profile gold wedding band and they were able to easily transform a band they already had in the store. Everyone I’ve worked with has been so pleasant and knowledgeable. Their lifetime perks are amazing as well. I love having Spicer Greene as my local go-to jeweler!

My husband and I enjoy our visits to Spicer Greene. We spend our time browsing their designer jewelry collection but they have large selections of ring sets and vintage pieces as well. (We haven't even browsed their watch collection yet.) If you want a custom piece, their designers can craft it for you. The staff are great and know the details on every piece in the store. Laura is especially helpful to us when we visit. If you're shopping for jewelry in western North Carolina, this should be your first stop.

I have nothing but good things to say about Spicer Greene. Despite living somewhat outside of Asheville, this is my go-to place for jewelry repairs and purchases. Everyone who works there is professional, courteous, and helpful. I have taken several items for repair, and they have always given me a solid estimate of the cost and the time required. They also gave me a fair market price for gold when I had some items to sell, and the option of cash or in-store credit. They definitely have my loyalty!

We had such an excellent experience here, i had already browsed online and knew what I wanted… the sales woman wasn’t pushy at all which can some times be the case when spending bigger amounts of money, she was super kind and did show me a couple other things she thought I might like but ultimately I went with the ring I saw online and knew I wanted… she didn’t try to up sell my boyfriend etc. we looked at rings for him as well but decided to wait. She was so kind, offered us drinks, sized us both. The resize on my ring was included as well as a warranty! So glad we came here and we will certainly be coming back for both of our wedding bands! This jeweler has been in the same location nearly 100 years. They are an Asheville tradition. I went here to get a gold chain for my cross repaired. There don't seem to be many jewelers in the area who do repairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The repair was done in 2 weeks time, which I liked. The links connecting the clasps that were replaced though seem awfully thin. I would have preferred thicker connecting links for a longer lasting repair. It didn't occur to me when I took the chain in for repair to specify wanting thick connecting links. I'll take the responsibility for that one and remember to specify thicker connecting links the next time. I would certainly use this jeweler again.

My experience buying an engagement ring at Spicer Greene was nearly flawless. They had polite service, great selections and unique designs. I went with an existing design but it had to be made in platinum. It took around 2 weeks and the end result was great. Prices were very reasonable. After the proposal, they even fit in a last minute resizing on a Friday afternoon so that my fiancé could wear her ring to an engagement party I had planned. The ONLY feedback I have is that a week or two after I made the purchase, they started mailing congratulatory marketing material to my home, which my fiancé also lives with me. Fortunately she did not see it, but it would have been very upsetting if the surprise had been ruined by a 10% off offer. So if you are trying to have a surprise, tell them to NOT send you any marketing materials. And Spicer Greene, please ask your engagement customers permission before you market to them and risk spoiling a surprise.

The employee who handled the purchase was very friendly and explained their process well. I received a good price for the pieces and received a check right then.

I placed a special order for a watch bracelet by phone as I live an hour away; my intention was to have them mail the product to me but I decided to pay them a visit after seeing all the reviews. From the initial phone conversation with Mr. Connor it was clear that I made the right choice. After a few weeks I received notice that my item came in and I communicated to them that I would come by to pick it up, have it installed and sized (at no additional cost). My daughter and I were greeted with and smile, offered something to drink and a ring-pop candy for my best girl; they were quick to ask how they could best serve us and I told them I was there to pick up a watch bracelet from Mr. Connor. I was escorted to the upstairs portion of the establishment where I passed the most beautiful grandfather clock and entered what I will call "a watch lovers paradise". When my turn came to be served Mr. Connor turned all of his attention to me and my daughter, had the bracelet install and sized in a timely manner and was a gentleman the entire time. I don't care to state that I spent less than $150, however, we were treated as if we just spent a million. Keep up the great work. (Date and time if visit 8/20/2022 on or about 11:45am)

Sika was SUCH a gem to do business with. My purchase with Spicer Greene wouldn’t be what most people would consider very “lucrative”… however she made me feel just as special as if I was purchasing the largest diamond ring in the store. My original ring was purchased from Kay’s 12 years ago. It had four tiny center diamonds that continued to fall out over and over during the course of the 12 years. Eventually I got tired of having it repaired every several years and I asked Kays if they could replace the small diamonds with one large center diamond and they refused to do the work for me or help me at all. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. As soon as I walked in Spicer Greene, Sika told me they would be happy to replace the diamonds for me and we had a beautiful princess cut diamond picked out in less than 30 minutes…. that was even way under my budget! The whole process from beginning to end was so wonderful that I even decided to have more work done by them on my Nana‘s vintage wedding ring. I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to do the work on this ring, but they went above and beyond my expectations the first time and the second time! Thank you thank you thank you! I will highly recommend you to all of my friends and family!!

Having found Spicer Greene and Watches on Wall Street online when planning our vacation, I knew we would make it a destination and I’m very glad we did. The service and attentiveness was excellent from the moment we walked in. We were even escorted around to the watch store personally since we had the baby stroller and couldn’t take the stairs. Once inside, Connor took his time showing me everything I wanted to look at and was very knowledgeable without pushing anything. As a matter of fact, he encouraged me not to make a purchase that I wasn’t in love with. I left empty handed but came back a few hours later. Chris and Connor were both excited to show me the new Seiko Speedtimer that had literally just arrived while we were at lunch. It was perfect for me and was a purely serendipitous experience. Both of them were obviously passionate about horology and pairing their clients with the right pieces. Having just met, they both clearly ascertained my style and tastes and sent me home to Florida with the perfect new watch. I might be new to jewelry, but no one is new to knowing the difference between bad and incredible customer service. In late September(2015) I was ready to make a big purchase. I had been researching for a while on all of the important aspects of the specific piece that I was looking for and felt that I had the knowledge needed to make an informed decision. I emailed Eva Michelle to schedule an appointment and they were able to assign me to a specific person based on my needed. Additionally, I was provided with appointment options that fit my needs. I was assigned to Dianna and could not have asked for better service. I went in for an initial visit with Dianna and we were able to narrow down to exactly what I was looking for... but then, in a moment of brilliance she figured out how to make the decision even easier. We figured out a way to get my partner to come in the store based on something that I had mentioned at the beginning of my session... I had needed a chain for a vintage 1800's pocket watch and they had a perfect match. While we were in there we had two other goals...get her fitted and confirm the exact piece that she loved the most. I was able to schedule a time for us to "drop in" and when we did Dianna had ensured that no one said anything like "welcome back," we were greeted as first timers and it was clear to me that everyone was doing their part perfectly to ensure that our experience was top notch... even on a busy Saturday we were treated perfectly. We were able to get the pocket watch chain but more importantly we broke in a gold ring that was a gift from my partners' Nana with a broken shank. Dianna delicately handled the piece and sized the finger that my partner wore it on... and also very nonchalantly sized the other fingers on her hand as well as the other hand explaining that it was a service the store provided so they could have them on file if she wanted changes made to the piece.... Needless to say, mission size ring, accomplished. W&G made all changes needed to make the selected ring perfect for the engagement and assisted me with a financial plan that fit my needs. We have been back a few times since, we are purchasing our bands as well as another piece for our goddaughter in the store, every time it is wonderful. I cannot say thank you enough to the kind staff that makes us feel like family every time we walk through the door... this is a really special and important time in our life and you all(especially Dianna) have made it truly special. He allowed us to look at whatever rings we wanted without offering his own opinion unless appropriate. He was extremely knowledgeable and did not push the most expensive diamond, and instead let us look at a selection of a few and choose which diamonds caught our eye. They didn't have our perfect band but Josh immediately told us they would fabricate exactly what we wanted and could have it by the end of the week. The manager Kevin even came over to check on us and congratulate us. When I came into Wick & Greene, you listened to how I wanted to honor my Mother in law's ring in the design. I know customer service is different in the South, but I have always felt special when I walk into Wick & Greene. It had been my desire to come in one day and buy a diamond solitaire pendant to remember my Mom after her passing. Thank you for helping me. On the first necklace you found exactly what I wanted and it was less costly than I expected. You were able to fit a chain to me so my diamond sits in just the right spot.
