Oh my god, this STORE! Seriously, why aren't there bead stores like this in Raleigh?! Michael's, I'm so sorry 🙏🏻, but your bead selection can't even compare. This store doesn't sell just mass produced beads, but unique, one-of-a-kind, HANDMADE beads from around the world as well as antique beads!!! 💕💕💕 If you want to make your jewelry special then this is the place to go. My wife and I love this store and we will definitely be coming back whenever we visit Asheville.

The store offers a vast selection of beads in a variety of sizes, shapes, and materials, ranging from gemstones to glass, and acrylic. Aside from the amazing selection of beads, the store also offers jewelry-making workshops.

This established store is a treasure and beading resource. Every time I visit I have to downshift to be able to take it all in, and I still miss cool things! I like the logic of how the store is laid out and I like the prices. I spent a lot of $$ and came away with a lot of beads to show for it. (Not always my experience with bead stores!) It has FOUR ROOMS, one with gift and decor items (not beads), plus a comfy couch, books, and an aquarium to distract non-beaders. Unique bead and pendant-type objects from around the world, and vintage beads, are in one room. Japanese seed beads get a whole room!! Gem beads, polished stones, and a fun range of Czech beads are in the main room along with many other delights. The original owner was there when I visited and she's friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about her store, and gives you space to shop your way.

I told my husband that I was just going to take a quick look at this store and would be back out asap. Well I didn't expect there to be the most beautiful, well kept aquarium in there! Out had such gorgeous coral in it. The girl at the register said they've had it for about 15 years and the yellow tang is almost that old too! They have lots and lots of different types of beads, perfect for anyone interested in making jewelry. They also had some glass pieces, the sides of which had been rounded/dulled to look like sea glass. They also had pieces of abalone shell. Both cost 20 and 25 cents per gram. I got some of each. There was also a girl in there who had her beautiful cat, Renley on a leash! I've only seen that twice before and was smitten with him! They also had a gorgeous fireplace that is worth admiring!

Absolutely loved this shop!!! We were visiting from England for a wedding in Asheville & I saw an advert for a bead shop in town. I wasn’t expecting such a HUGE store filled with all sorts of goodies… I was in heaven! We have nothing like this where I live, so everything I purchase has to be online, which isn’t quite as pleasurable. This shop has lots of unusual beads to suit all pockets & soooo many beautiful colours. My husband dropped me off & went to look round some other shops. He returned before I was finished, but not a problem as he sat on a comfy sofa, watching the fish & other creatures in the most beautiful fish tank. There was music playing, staff were on hand if you needed help with anything, but no one bugged you. It was nice just to spend time choosing my purchases without being hassled. The lady who served us was friendly & chatty & it was just a really enjoyable experience & I am now back home in the UK, oohing & cooing over my purchases. I’m sure we’ll be back when we’re next in Asheville…

I loved this amazing bead shop! The staff members are incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable about the inventory and what may be needed for a certain craft. The prices are extremely reasonable and I'd be surprised if you didn't leave with exactly what you set out to find :) if not better!

I was disappointed. Overpriced and not that great of a selection. The natural / gemstone beads were WAY overpriced and you have to purchase full strands. I had hoped to find multi hole connector / spacer beads. (4 strand beads) they had several two hole beads that were basic glass.

This is the most amazing shop. Beads galore, plus so much more! The other day I watched the owner labor tirelessly over my favorite necklace that had broken and seemed "un-repairable." She contemplated several options, and finally settled on a strip of "sinew". It was genius. When she painstakingly finished the task, I couldn't tell where the bead chain had broken. I was thrilled! And she charged me a ridiculously low repair fee. Thank you so much for your creative passion with beads!!!

Great selection of beading supplies. Large selection of seed beads. Miyuki beads, czech, wooden, & Japanese beads. Needles, threads, findings. Beautiful star lights. Lady at register was super nice and helpful. I could spend hours in here. Nice timed pay parking lot beside store too.

I completely agree with Jesse T. I LOVE this place ❣️ They have so many beautiful beads you can’t find in craft stores. That is almost all we have in Charlotte. The staff a wonderful too! We use to go Asheville a lot before my brother moved to Boone. So glad this shop is still here! I only have one complaint beside being far away….I buy so much (get lots of inspiration just walking thru), but I go home so happy and excited about my new found treasures. I’m hoping to come to Asheville this fall and know I need to set aside a few hours in this happy place. 🤔🍁🥰

As a jewelry artist, this place is probably my favorite store in downtown Asheville. The owner is sweet as can be, and so are the employees. Sometimes there's even a sweet pupper there to love on while you shop. Good prices, especially on those glass crystal things that catch light. But the best part by far is the incredible salt water fish tank they have. You can sit on their comfy couch and watch the fish all you want. They have no problem with pets and my dog loves coming in here.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the cashier was so sweet she made my mom who has dementia feel very comfortable and made the check out process really simple for her! Definitely recommend coming!

The folks here are so friendly and the prices are reasonable too. I bought a star lantern from here and can't wait to see it opened Christmas morning! So beautiful and unique. I honestly did not expect the actual cord and light socket to be included! What a pleasant surprise! I also found some feathers and the girl helping me was able to show me exactly how to turn them into some cool earrings to gift my daughter. If you're in Asheville, you should stop in and see this place!

My daughter and I love this store. FOUR rooms of carefully organized beads and super cute star lanterns! They have necklace kits that make it easy to attach a clasp for professional looking jewelry. Sweet and helpful staff. Downtown and close to lots of parking.

Incredibly huge selection of ALL things to make jewelry and they carry a variety of other unique finds. The owner and staff were very helpful, I could not have asked for a better shopping experience! They will show you how to assemble the jewelry and provide the tools so you can create your special piece in the store, or for a small fee they will do it for you. This store is truly special. I look forward to shopping there again.

Wonderful shop. Excellent job of restringing beads for necklaces, bracelets, and just about anything beaded. During the past two years Chevron Trading Post has been our go to place for restringing and repairs. They also sell newly crafted original jewelry. Quite beautiful and very reasonable. We highly recommend.

I have visited this store twice, and both times, my friends had to remind me that over an hour had passed, it was time for lunch, we needed to go. There is so much to see in the store, and I found plenty of beads to add to my collection. I don't live in Asheville, and recently I talked to the owner to place an order over the phone. She took a lot of time to make sure everything was just right. Excellent customer service!

If you are a bead freak on any level, you must visit this store! Every shape, size, old and new. Findings, clasps, wire, chain everything needed to get those creative juices flowing. My husband and I talked with the owner of the store for 20+ years. Very knowledgeable and we shared some bead stories as I used to deal in trade beads...lots of them! Take a class, meet some folks, and have some reading fun!

As a native to Asheville, I’ve been visiting Chevron since I was a kid. Some of my favorite childhood memories include visiting the shop during Bele Chere and admiring their vast selection of beautiful beads while my parents listened to live music. I’ll always love their star lamps, too! Such a great shop and an Asheville staple!

My experience was great! You pick, make and take jewelry that you put together. What you pay is based on what beads or stones you pick out. They don't make it for you but will help you get started. It was a nice break for us after having walked around downtown for much of the day. We laughed and joked with some other mom daughter duos. Look forward to doing it again!

Good store. Very nice selection. I picked up 2 bags of yarn for me and my gf. Only thing i didnt like was the lady thought i was shoplifting. After i showed her i had the bags in my hand i didnt bother trying to find a pendant for my gf. I just bought the yarn and left because i felt uncomfortable.

We love this store!!!! Wall to wall great variety of beads , findings, crystals, kits, books and resident snuggly doggie and warm, helpful staff. The only thing missing is a coffee/chocolate bar which would totally fit in the back room near the couch!!! That is my helpful suggestion

A mainstay of downtown Asheville for over a quarter century, the Chevron Trading Post offers one of the most extensive bead selections on the planet, with knowledgeable and friendly staff to boot. When my daughter and I came here recently, they were incredibly accommodating as I made prayer beads and she designed some earrings. A lively space where you can both purchase ready-made items or create your own, I highly recommend the space for visitors and locals alike!

Chevron pattern is called the police station and then afterwards hanging out near the end of the day before yesterday was the best thing ever and ever and ever since I have no problem at all times to make sure my mom said she was like what the hell is that what you're talking about you all have to go back to the other day when I encountered this beautiful bird just grazing on the leaves of the day before the game is over now so I'm going to be OK with that one
