I had a challenging problem with my broken Rolex watch bracelet. Unlike the multi thousands of dollar solution which is all Albuquerque's Rolex dealer would offer, Butterfield's outstanding watch repair specialist, Joe, considered carefully the possibilities (in spite of initial reluctance out of concern not to damage or weaken the bracelet) and figured out a solution, which he then executed flawlessly in 24 hours at a totally reasonable price. If Joe is representative of the firm, I can say Butterfield are 100% worthy of your trust and business.

When I planned to purchase an engagement ring and wedding band, I asked my co-workers what jewelry store they recommended. The consensus was Butterfield Jewelers as a local family owned business with quality diamonds. I went there and received exceptional customer service along with insight into what to look for when buying diamonds and settings. I asked my husband for a "fancier" setting for my diamond engagement ring now that I am no longer giving massages. so we came to Butterfields and met Melissa who made suggestions and my husband said pick whatever you want! I did....and love my new ring! It is gorgeous! Wish I could post it! Later my husband worked with Caleb to get a new chain for a religious medal and he too was most attentive and helpful. This is a high class jewelry store and one where you can be sure your product will be quality and the staff will be knowledgeable and honest. Especially when it comes to engagement ring diamonds, at other places it’s very possible to get ripped off or even just unknowingly buy the wrong diamond. The 4C’s are important, but the staff at Butterfield’s know the nuances that the average consumer doesn’t know and they use their knowledge to assist you throughout the entire the buying process. Great business! We bought the engagement ring and wedding rings here and we will use them anytime we have a jewelry purchase in the future.

Not too many years ago they recommended that the prongs be replaced. We did that. My rings are as beautiful as the day Glen put it on my finger. We went to a number of the local jewelry stores in Albuquerque when looking for a wedding ring, but we became discouraged by lack of customer service and inflated prices. This ended when we went to Butterfield. The customer service was excellent and personal. We received honest answers to our questions and didn't feel pressured. We were out of town travelers and the band on my Luminox watch broke. It is unique to the watch. We called Butterfield Jewelers and they were extremely helpful. Said they did not have one in stock but would take one from a new watch. When we came in we got a different salesperson (also very helpful) who found a match in stock.....we heard someone call from the back "you cannot sell that I have someone coming in". We did not promise to come in but they were holding a band anyways. Exceeds expectations!

A mixup and confusion A screw securing the band of my TagHeuer watch broke. Expecting to pay maybe $20, I went in and asked if they could replace the screw for me. I was told the repair cost would be $125. While twisting the band, seemingly trying to break the other screw head, the counter lady explained to me what a complex repair this could be. I took my watch, ordered 4 replacement screws on eBay for $25, and fixed it myself. Took me 15 minutes. I went to Butterfield because we have bought jewelry from them before. I won't make that mistake again. Raising my review due to the following: A few hours after leaving the above review Mike Butterfield called and explained what had taken place, from the perspective of the jeweler. He had assumed that the screw post was going to have to be drilled out and the hole retapped, which would be a job for TagHeuer to perform in their repair facility. I admit that job would cost what he had quoted. It says something when a business owner will will call to discuss the details of a complaint and work to prevent them in the future. Points are given for that.

My husband and I got all three of our rings there (my engagement ring, and both our wedding bands). I spent a long time trying to find just the right engagement ring that both my husband and I liked, and I finally found it at Butterfield! I don't recall the name of the man we worked with now, but he was extremely nice and knowledgeable (he is the son-in-law of the Butterfields). He even worked with us to make my ring cost exactly what we had budgeted. The ring was by a company by the name of Sholdt Designs out of Washington, and I have gotten so many compliments on the setting, as well as the quality of the diamond we picked out. And, contrary to other reviews, we did not feel like anyone ignored us or mistreated us--we're not terribly 'fancy' people, and our total budget for all three rings was only $3K. My husband just wanted a very simple gold band and I wanted a simple white gold band, and he is extremely happy with the 'European Comfort Fit'. We never felt like Butterfield looked down on us for wanting simple wedding bands, and they didn't try to 'up-sell' us to something fancier. Butterfield is a great local business, and we will be going back the next time we have any fine jewelry needs!

My experience is that I work there. For 26 years I ve been one of thier jewelers. We really strive for good service to be given to each and every person who comes in our door. From what I am reading we have not always made it to that goal. For that I do apologize. Sometimes our best foot has not been put forward like it should have been.
