The thing I like is dealing with a real live person. Every time I've contacted Direct General, I've always had a pleasant experience with the agent. Never once did I get the feeling that I was taking up their valuable time. The associate was personable and efficient and down right NICE!!! Yup, I made a good choice by going with Direct General! Look, insurance is insurance, the rates may be different but it's all the same product. The difference is the people and you have a good group, Cheers! Well done you!

So far having only had this company for 2 months I have been satisfied with their customer service and their insurance. I would love it more if the rates were lower and there were more discounts but I'm satisfied thus far and will continue with this company as long as they keep it real and don't start charging me ridiculously like other companies do. The hidden fees I have seen elsewhere I haven't seen with them so that's always a good thing in my book.

Getting a quote online was super quick and easy. Great prices. The first amount I paid was a bit higher than the initial quote but the monthly payment after that are the lowest I could find anywhere else. They send you all the paperwork and proof of insurance immediately, paperless, which is great. You can set up your plan however you like, choose a plan they already have or personalize your own. So far, I'm happy with my decision, no real complaints. I'd recommend them to someone.

I started with getting a quote online which was super easy to do! After instantly getting my auto quote I chose to purchase the policy. (Several other ins. quotes later... DirectGeneral was at minimum 10% cheaper than others.) Right from the quote I was able to quickly fill out a bit more information, finalize and pay. Downloaded my ID cards and I'm good to go!! Thank you Direct General for lowering my car insurance by OVER 50% from what I was paying with my previous ins. company!!!

Bought a newer car insurance went down 50$ a month! Never have any issues and love the grace period they give you before canceling your insurance cause everyone falls on hard times. Direct has always been the best priced insurance company and always offers full 12 month coverage where other insurance companies only offer 6 months and at 3/4 the price of a full year!

They are cordial at every field office and follow up after you get a quote online and is typically cheaper that the one you got on your email when you finish setting up your policy. I have auto insurance with them and it has been great so far. The webpage could use improvement (let's get those web developers to make some changes), but that's the only detail, awesome company and reasonable prices. Whatever I do in the future with my car, they'll always have my business!

I don't understand why this company don't have more customers then already have. for one is super cheap. I mean ridiculously cheap especially here in Florida where the insurance is super pricey, They maintain a super low budget. secondly they have full coverage plus emergency assistance for like $120 - $130 a month which is perfect for somebody that works alone etc.

Direct General Insurance was so extremely fast, and easy to get online insurance quotes, as well as starting new insurance policies on our vehicles. I have yet to find the perfect auto insurance company but I have been with this one for a little while so it will do. they were the only ones who would give us a good quote considering my husband had a wreck on his history which actually did not belong to him. I had them once before and my coverage was dropped over a $40 late payment and thecustomer service representative told me that they would not drop me if I paid what I could on it so I paid around $100 and was going to pay the other $40 in a couple of days but when I called in to pay they informed me the insurance was dropped and I would have to make another down payment to get my insurance back. long story short, we ended up going back with them because they gave us a good quote while my husband was trying to get that wreck off of his history that did not belong to him.

I gave 4 stars because I had to do a lot of searching to finally find the website I needed to be able to pay my insurance online. I also believe that this service of paying online should not be charged to the customer. If you live in an area that does not have a store close by, the customer has to pay it online. Premiums ate already being paid and then you are asked to pay more to pay it online? This needs to be a free service to the customer..

I went to a local store in Largo FL on 66th Street. My experience there was terrible. The agent not only made me wait (there was no one in the office) but did not even made eye contact, I guess he did not want to give me that free backpack or whatever it was they where giving as a promotion, but dismissing me without even attempting to help me. Good thing that upon arriving home I had a quote on my email and I did all my business online. I did even use the live chat and that was even more helpful. Story short is that you have a new customer retained and gained by the website and I think that is a pretty awesome accomplishment. Everything is crystal clear and explained in understandable terms. I bought my auto policy online and it was mostly a good experience. I love that I was allowed to choose my due date. That is of great importance to me now that I'm retired and living on Social Security. On the downside when I was in the checkout process and having second thoughts about what deductables I had chosen I could not figure out how to go back and change the options, or compare the cost of changing options without starting over. You seriously need a "go back" or "change coverage" option during the check out process.

Online, you can say how much you want to put down, what date you want your payments due on, and choose between a 6 mth or 12 mth policy. Prices seem to be pretty fair. Downside, even after purchasing online, you have to go in to show proof of address. That kind of defetes the purpose of doing it online. But at least I have one 1 mile away .
