You cannot go wrong with Boer Insurance Group. They treat you like family, because they are a family! Derek Boer and the Boer Group are the dictionary definition of customer service! The word "WOW!" applies! I am a 49-year veteran (now retired) of the insurance industry. Up to this point I have always been my own agent for auto and homeowner's insurance but when my previous company kept raising my premiums with every billing, I decided to start looking around for better rates. I started with Consumer Reports and received quotes from several of their recommended companies over the phone. But, before making a final decision I decided to contact at least one independent agent and I am so glad that I did. Derek and his staff searched several companies for the best rates and the best coverage and recommended one that was on my Consumer Reports list. We then sat down and went over all of the coverages line by line. We did a little bit of "tweaking" and Derek came up with a customized package that saved me almost half of what I had been previously paying for auto and homeowner's coverage. On top of that, the coverage I have now is better! Better rates plus better coverage, coupled with above and beyond customer service, made my day! Derek's follow up is where the "WOW!" factor came into play. He took care of everything! We were with the same insurance company for 6+ years so I was hesitant to make the switch but my husband and I decided to shop around to see if we could get a better deal on our rates. I had called a handful of places and nobody seemed to be able to beat our current rates so I was ready to give up when my husband talked me into calling at least one more place. I got on our local community FB page and found some recommendations for the Boer Insurance Group so I gave them a call. A very kind woman answered the phone right away and transferred me to an agent named Derek (Boer). Right away they left a good first impression and Derek was so kind and really took the time to listen to our needs. He was the ONLY agent out of about 6 that I called that was able to beat our current rates AND get us better coverage! It was a win-win for us so we started the process to make the switch. From day one Derek has been nothing but AMAZING! I had more communication with him within a week than I had with our other agent of 6 years. Derek knows his stuff and is really on top of it. Unfortunately I had a claim (darn Michigan deer) within our first month of switching and from the time I called him while still on the side of the road he has been so helpful with following up on everything and making sure that the claims process is as smooth as possible. He is quick to email me back when I have questions, will email me on his own just to make sure everything is okay and that what is supposed to be happening is happening (getting a refund check that we were owed, that the claims adjuster was contacting us, etc) and really has a caring attitude. I honestly have not one bad thing to say about this agency and am so happy we made the switch!
