Reviews of Dairy Queen (Treat)
The sweet old man running that store is a gem. He made our peanut buster parfait and raspberry fudge blizzard perfectly!! Didn't have cash on me but gave him a tip. He can't move fast like his young days, so please be kind. ♡
Yummiest ice cream! Fast service, never disappoint. Guy at the window is really funny too.
The New Owners are great, with same great smile and service. Just because Richard Retired doesn't mean you drive by. Stop an Check them out.
I love this dairy queen everyday I walk to and from work. So stopping to get a little treat with an amazing kind crew is just amazing.
We've been coming here for years and anxiously await the opening every spring! The atmosphere here is fantastic and has an old school feel! Everyone should stop in and say hi!!!
It's a place that's been there my entire life, and whenever I'm wanting ice cream, I go here. The owner has always been joyful and happy whenever I go there, and my dog enjoys it too. 5 starts no matter what.
The "little" Dairy Queen is back. Still great service. Wonderful ice cream treats.
We are so happy the little will be open again next year. Love it!!
Tasty ice cream and amazing staff you helped me have a great summer thanks.
there is only two people that are the store but they take care of you pretty quick the is always a line around the building so it might take a few minutes to get up to the window but it just gives you more time to choose what you want to eat
Richard is a Great guy with an Awesome attitude and work ethic. His business reflects it. He is very generous and donates ice cream for our Neighborhood events. My oldest daughter worked for Richard over 30 years ago. He has employed many Neighborhood kids. Happy Birthday Richard!!
Fantastic place. It’s almost unbelievable how long this Dairy Queen has been delighting Wichita. The owner is getting older, so don’t be pushy. There is a year carved in stone resting inside the front window. That’s the year it was established.
I've been going here my entire life. I used to live a couple of blocks down. Always a pleasant experience... Just wished I'd gotten a different type of lid for my blizzard. Made a pretty decent mess.
My favorite go to for strawberry malt, extremely long, long wait, but discovered the elderly man owns it for many years(Grove@Lincoln) was there working by himself,he had a line and was doing his best,so I waited and my malt was good as always.
Ice cream was great but having a 90 year old slowly helping customers, one at a time, takes longer than a just a comfortable wait time. He took the money, made change and preparred the desserts one at a time. Therr were like 5 cars in front of us and 5 behind us at 3pm on a Wednesday. I would hate to see a busy time.
Nice staff and great ice cream
I got a banana 🍌 shake my friend got a strawberry 🍓 blizzard. Both of them were very good …
I love this little place visit often during the summer then going there for years very friendly staff what else more can I say
Little Richard's Dairy Queen is a great place to go to for your ice cream cravings. This is an old fashion style DQ. No meals, no indoor seating, just drive thru, walkup windows and old fashion service. Seeing others comment on the little old man working by himself, that is Little Richard and he's the owner.
Yooooooooo.... Who thought to add brownies and Oreos together.... And with ice cream😲???? Whoooo???? I freaking loooovvvveeedddd it! (I wish i could remember what it was called... ugh)
Overall.... I'd recommend this place to others. We were treated well, and the wait was worth it.
Side note: i loved the note on the window about Richard! That added a cute lil flare!!! Also.... Have fun at school!!!!
My brother and I had the turtle blizzard it was delicious his wife had strawberry shortcake.
My husband and I come here every day, they recognize us by our car and start making our order before we even get to the window. So they have our order memorized, which is nice! (Even my 3 pup cups). Everyone here is always friendly! And Richard is a big sweetheart!!
This is the best Dairy Queen in Wichita! It’s our go to ice cream spot when we need a little treat. Our family of six can each get an ice cream cone (large ones for the boys!) for under $10. The employees and Richard are great and we always enjoy our summer tradition.
My favorite dairy queen in town 😋. I can make orders not on the menu. Only issue is when they're busy. I wait patiently, but not everyone does. He hand makes items that are prepackaged at other dairy queen stores. They know the difference between Hawaiian and tropical blizzards. One has pecans and the other one pineapple. He hires high school students.
Best & cheapest soft serve in town for anyone according to my wife and grandchildren. This DQ (27+yrs) now +++++, great service in drive through, however only open in the warmer months of the year! 😁👌👍 …
This is one of the original Dairy Queens! Walk up and stand in line like I did 60 years ago. Open only in the summer and has had the same management as long as I can remember. I am impatiently waiting for spring! Always friendly and orders are correct!
A Wichita classic. Still done the old fashion way. Cherry-dipped cones are amazing.
On 6/30/19 I was there again, but know I cant and will not say that I will go back again. The past few times I have went they have been out of this or that.
Don't get me started on the little old man that works his butt off while the younger workers just stands there, wait they are cleaning I guess that's what u would call it. Let me give you a Pacific time when I went there. There was 3 cars in the drive thru and me and 1 other person at the window. While the old man was taking care of the people in the drive thru, the young lady was cleaning.I guess that's what you call it and wouldn't take the time to put down the rag and come and take my order,so she hollered at the old man and told him to come over and take my order. That made me so upset, because he was busy and he didn't need to come and take my order, he was taking the drive-thru people's order.Still yet he came over and took my order while still dealing with a drive-thru people. I mean it's just not right. Is that how you treat old people these days?Let a young person do nothing and expects to get a Payday? That old man should have gotten her payday and his both.
If I ever decide to go back and I see that happen again,I'm going to call Corporate Headquarters and if they don't do anything,I will get ahold of Better Business Bureau.
This location still looks to me like the old time ice cream stand. The people are very courteous and helpful there. I would definitely recommend going here if you get the opportunity.
My daughter and I always have a great time when we come here! The service is good, it's a little slow because the girls are always so busy! If they get an order wrong, they fix it. If they haven't tried something and you ask about it, they tell you the truth. And as far as the sign you'll see in another picture somebody else posted: Closed Friday and Saturday sorry...the teens who work here were trying to get ready to go back to school, so there were some scheduling issues due to prevent season meetings.
Give them a try before they close for the fall/winter in mid October. They for the winter early because they only serve ice cream and none of the other food products usually offered by Dairy Queen.
I haven't seen or been to DAIRY QUEEN in years, and it was just how I remembered. Great food & Chocolate Soft Serve. The service was outstanding and so friendly. Enjoyed it greatly. Now I'm craving a DILLY BAR....YUMMY
Dairy Queen is pretty pricey in my option but this DQ is the cheapest in town! The kids that work there are always very nice and helpful. Its a drive from my house but its worth it!!
Original old school DQ, same guy has been running it for decades. Standard frozen treat faire, no seating, no burgers just as God intended.
Richard's Little DQ is the best! You couldn't ask for better service and better people. And I always enjoy seeing Richard he has been a big part of my childhood not only with Icecream treats for the family but great friends with my grandparents and summer BBQ'S!!!
Old school Dairy Queen. Ice cream only, walk up or drive thru (tiny drive-thru) the quintessential summertime ice cream stand. Only open during the warm time of the year with varying hours of operation. Location is kind of a pain to get to, but it's still worth it.
I love little Richards dairy queen. It seems cheaper than the other dqs, and he's a really nice guy. We love it when we go and the fireman are there getting ice cream, I think that's awesome.
Old school Dairy Queen. A walk-up window for frozen treats. No burgers, fries, or food. This is an original DQ. Just the frozen stuff. Has the feel of an old time neighborhood store, and amazingly, it is just that. Very cool.
Always tasty !!!! I had a banana supreme. The ol guy that runs it made up this treat especially for me !! Love him and he gives complementary doggie dishes for your pup's !!!!
An old style walk up DQ. It’s the only one I know of in town that still serves cherry and butterscotch flavor dipped ice cream cones. It’s a fun family outing on a warm night.
My girlfriend and I decided on ice cream. As always, service was quick and awesome. The chocolate dipped swirl was delicious.
Brought back lots of memories of getting ice cream....
No one can beat Dairy Queen, it's way better than Braums.
It's a cool place been here foreverBut he needs to open the walk-up windowsThe drive-through takes forever cuz he's by himself nobody wants to work no more they're busy
Good place to come for ice cream but thy need to more then one person to work here. Long lines around the building that they are in the street.
This is a one of a kind old style store. Only a walk up windows that were not open due to the panic pandemic. We had to wait a little bit but it was worth it. Thank you
Dilly bars are cheap and non-dairy so even though we're lactose intolerant we can still enjoy this classic quick treat as a family.
Best one around. Richards Little DQ brings back so many memories from my child hood. It was Awesome seeing Richard still there.
Nicest Man there is whom owns this 😊 Best Ice cream shop in town the original little drive thru only Dairy Queen!! 🍨🍦 …
Very busy. Super slow service. They have a "order here" & "pick up here" window but for some reason they don't use both windows to their advantage. By the time my husband received his blizzard I was already finished with my dipped cone.
Love this Dairy Queen! Always friendly staff and good ice cream. Enjoy everytime we get to see Richard particularly.
We call it, The Little DQ. You can tell the owner cares about his machines. The ice cream is always good and the owner is very polite.
The best and one of the last original DQ's left and it's in my neighborhood. Come and park your car and enjoy your evening eating ice cream and looking at the stars.
One of the last walk up dairy queen.
Love this DQ! Great home town ice cream store. Service can be slow on busy nights, but worth the wait.
Love this place from my childhood. Now take my grandchild. The old gentleman behind counter is great, but how about hiring teen to help. Line would move faster
My favorite dairy queen, they are very nice and quick. It is a walk up window/drive thru so no food service or seating.
Love The Nostalgia great experience sorry to see them close
It's so nice to have something like this in the neighborhood. I always see people walking to it or enjoying ice-cream outside. It serves its purpose perfectly.
I got a Peanut Buster Parfait and a Animal cookie Blizzard for my daughter. DQ ice cream is awesome
First time we've been there. Fast and friendly service! Didn't like the exhaust from the vehicles at the drive thru window. Other than that it was great!! 😉 …
It might be a small store but it's got some big flavor I've been going there for years
This is not a seat and eat joint. On foot window service. It's quick to order and you get your order taken with a smile.
Very friendly, and quick staff!
Very cool, never seen anything like this one but I loved it a lot, would recommend!
Gets kinda busy here. I would avoid during peak hours, unless you need Ice cream badly.
This is an awesome locally owned place to get ice cream. Really friendly staff.
Best Dairy Queen ever. My mom, grandmother, and my aunt Mary use to bring me here as a kid, and now I bring my children here.
I've came to this location ever since I was a child. Its locally owned and he still makes the Dilly bars on site..
This is THE DQ!!! The owner has made memories for kids my whole life and now my daughter loves this spot.
Love this tiny DQ! The owner has been in business for decades! Really nice gentleman!
Love the owner... he even hooks up your dog & it has a wichita feel
Had to wait in the drive thru line for 30 minutes but once I got what I ordered it was yummy!
Great spot in the middle of nothing. Only place to grab a drink for miles, and miles. They have ice cream too. Weird.
I've been frequenting this establishment since about 1990 and have always loved it.
Love this old fashioned ice cream spot on a hot night... Nothing beats eating a chocolate dipped cone while the sun goes down.
Small building with only a drive through as well as a walk up window. Zero seating arrangements. Off of a one-way drive.
Even though there was only one employee working this DQ , she rocked and kept a steady work flow to help everyone.
I love the cherry misty float, and I'm right up the street!
They were out of ice cream ! I was sad about it but they still had novelty ice cream bars ...
Love love love the mini dq!! The owner is fantastic and has made this place a pillar of our neighborhood!
Omg bestest DQ ever...visit your local business's and support your community!!!
The owner is very old and runs it alone he's amazing
Probably my favorite for just a plain old vanilla ice cream cone. Reminds me of younger years
Love our little neighborhood DQ. So happy to see it open again for the year.
Slow service with only one gentleman working there, but the ice cream was nothing less from a Dairy Queen.
Every order is always perfect...and they give me a pup cup no charge when requested 🍦 …
The young lady running the drive thru was helpful and had a great attitude
The Dairy Queen over there is awesome been going there for a long time
Old school walk up establishment. Nice staff and a properly put together Peanut Buster Parfait.
The staff was very nice. I didn't care for my cannonball blizzard.
Always friendly and they have never been a disappointment. You're the greatest, and for good reason

Great place. Been there for so long and it's definitely for a reason.
The employees are professional and courteous. The food is fresh.
Kids and I enjoy this lil DQ, they are friendly, fast service and offer great prices
