Very cool ice cream shop! The ice cream is made right in front of you with liquid nitrogen. They don’t have too many flavors but the ones we ate were tasty. The sundaes are delicious with lots of ice cream and whipped cream! They do have $5 sundae happy hour too. The serving sizes are smaller than standard so keep that in mind when you’re ordering. Also they only have cups no cones. If you’re in the area definitely stop by and try it!

Best ice cream in town! I ordered two flavors and it was so good I immediately ordered two more flavors because the first one was so good. Vanilla bean and Nutella were the two best flavors, I also tried salted caramel and sweet corn which were less good. Sweet corn flavor I recommend the least. Will definitely be back for more in the future!

If you are craving for some good ice-cream and also want to see real-time ice-cream making this is the perfect place for you. They have a different menu every week which is updated on Saturday . Their staff is really cordial. You must try Speculious(one of their flavors) and it’s worth drooling . Also you can try the peach flavored ice cream and brownie sundae fudge

I got the Samoa flavored ice cream cookie Sunday. It was delicious, but I didn’t really get much of the Samoa taste in the ice cream itself- more from the toppings. I’d definitely go back here though. The staff are so nice. It does take a while to prepare your order but it’s worth the wait.

Amazing ice cream! Perfectly located in Clarendon near the shops to grab a quick treat. They have daily flavors, but also serve coffee, hot chocolate and sundaes. I'm always a fan of Nutella so seeing that on the menu was perfect. It was made so quickly too. It tasted delicious and the small is the perfect size for a quick dessert. Staff were really friendly and efficient, and there are a couple tables inside to enjoy your treat. Overall love coming here and can't wait for many more visits!

This definitely one of the nicest ice cream spots in town. They have a unique set of flavors to choose from and a fun way of making it. I tried the spicy vanilla bean and it was pretty good. Overall a cute spot, servers were decent too. I would definitely recommend this one.

Loved watching the kitchen aid mixers go and the nitrogen fill it to make the ice cream! It was such a lovely experience! The ice cream was extra rich and delicious!!! Definitely recommending!!!

A “nice” place to have a cappuccino! I cannot say anything about their ice creams yet, because I have not tried their ice creams yet, but their coffees are very good. The staff were okay, no one asked me how I was doing when I came in, and I was the only person walking in at that moment. The tables could have been cleaner as well, but the place itself was very cute.

Great ice cream with a fun presentation. Watching the chemical process added to the great flavors. I got a milkshake, which was quite filling. The flavor selection is unique and they also had a solid drink order section, too. I didn't try it, but there were different flavors of hot chocolate that I'm looking forward to trying. When we went, there wasn't a line, but it was earlier in the day. I have seen some longer waits after dinner, so just plan accordingly. Great ice cream, though...can't stress that enough.

We love visiting Nicecream for their unique flavors and overall experience of seeing the ice cream be made. The portions are small and the small is roughly $6+ There is very limited space to sit down and parking in front is like looming for a unicorn. We enjoy going on special occasions and taking visitors to experience. My favorite flavor is peach, and you cannot go wrong with the Nutella flavor.

Nicecream catered an event for us this past weekend. They were definitely the highlight! They provided entertainment and delicious food-everyone loved the ice cream, and loved watching the ice cream get made. The staff was super courteous, arrived on time, everything you would want from a vendor and more. I would absolutley recommend Nicecream to anyone considering to treat their guest.

I love Nicecream so much. But I’ve gone about three times to this store to find out that vanilla bean is sold out. Now I’m having to call in advance just to make sure they have it so I don’t waste my time driving over there. I think there has to be something done about this — clearly vanilla is the top selling item. It’s just not worth all of this work as a customer.

This neighborhood establishment is well worth a visit. Their handcrafted icecream is natural, using seasonal fruit from local farmers. The Orange juice for their Orange is the new black ice cream is hand squeezed right in front of you. My daughter ordered the vanilla bean milkshake and she loved it. This place will become one of my favorite places in D.C. when next I visit from California.

Friendly and helpful staff members made ordering very easy! Not a lot of flavor options, and just a couple tables inside, but worth the wait if there’s a line! The banana whip can have Nutella, peanut butter, chocolate chunks, or granola added to it and it was delicious!!

Flavors are posted and the ice cream is made with nitrous in kitchen aid mixers while you wait— so definitely not the quickest ice cream experience but it does come out full of flavor and extremely smooth. Children were loving watching the clouds of smoke roll out of the machines.

A different ice cream experience. The flavors and are pretty broad so you will likely find something that appeals to you. The pricing is a little high, but your going there to watch the ice cream process. After you order, the staff mixes the ingredients in white kitchenaid mixers, then adds the magic. Liquid nitrogen. The cool smoke rolls over the counter and under the glass, giving the customer a great and unique experience. The sizing is pretty good, but eat it fast, it melts quickly.

This was my first time visiting the Clarendon location & I quite enjoyed it. I had visited the newer Shaw location previously, so knew what to expect. The liquid nitrogen ice cream never gets old. Summer flavors were fruit heavy but all delicious. Staff was friendly and quick. The space, however, seemed roughed up and dirtier than expected. Didn’t necessarily detract from the experience, but definitely noticeable.

Absolutely amazing ice cream! This was my first experience with flash frozen ice cream! This is the freshest ice cream you will ever get! They get all their ingredients from local farms and dairies! They make it right in front of your eyes and it’s absolutely delicious and super creamy ice cream!

Shop is a bit messy, and I have no idea why they used icecream cup to offer Affogato. They offered 6-7 flavors that day, and I have to choose a special flavor for my Affogato. I picked banana ice cream because I don't think I have a second choice

The ice cream is great, but the eating experience is awful. The ice cream starts melting almost immediately. I had this issue the last two times I went. I didn’t even make it out the door before chocolate ice cream was running down my hand. It doesn’t help that the cups are way too small for the amount of ice cream they put in. We tried to sit down a few stores down to try and get a handle on the quickly melting ice cream but unfortunately the ice cream seemed to have attracted bees (not nice creams fault). We moved across the street after unfortunately abandoning our punch card to the bees, to sit on some steps to try and finish the ice cream and promptly gave up after seeing a huge rat run in front of us (also not nice creams fault). Long story short, larger cups that can actually contain the melting ice cream would help significantly.

The service is awesome. They didn't have the ice cream I tried in a pre made pint so they made a fresh one. I requested extra lemon and they obliged. Also best white chocolate mocha I've had in awhile. The service is so friendly. My friend felt the Mexican hot chocolate she ordered had too much spice so they remade it for her on the house no problem. Great service!! Sam, tommy and melody helped me :-)

Got the toffee pecan flavor and it was very flavorful. Although I ordered the small, it was more than enough to fulfill my ice cream craving. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient when it came to serving. It was fun to watch the staff whip up the ice cream.

Nicecream is my #1 favorite ice cream in Arlington! My go-to faves are the peanut butter cup, purely pistachio, and butter toffee pecan, but honestly there's nothing I've ever had here that's disappointing. I feel lame saying this but you can really taste the quality of the ingredients -- I don't know how to word that in a less generic way but it's just totally true!! The flavors are amazing -- the peanut butter cup is VERY peanut butter-y, the pistachio tastes like ACTUAL pistachios and is not too sweet. And the texture of Nicecream is SO perfect -- it's so silky and smooth and creamy -- it's not really hard ice cream and it's not soft serve either, it's some sort of magical in between ice cream that really isn't comparable to anything else! I brought my out-of-town brother here and he claims that the peanut butter cup flavor here ruined all other ice cream for him. Also, why are the brownies so good? I am obsessed. Sometimes I come here just for the brownies. Anyway, I'm rambling now but it's just because I love this place. Yay Nicecream!

This is excellent icecream perhaps the best ever. It's an average rating because of the terrible service we received yesterday. They got our orders wrong multiple times. We spent so much time at the store waiting for them to get our orders right. The manager( at least I think she was she was ) was non chalant about the mistakes. We weren't the only ones who experienced her mistakes. A previous customer came while we were there to obtain a refund due to over charging. We have been coming here since we happened on the place last Thanksgiving and the service has been superb. Yesterday felt like going to the DMV. Zero customer service not to mention multiple mistakes in orders and payment processing. I hope the owners will take a look at their newer hires.

Watch it all to down and be amazed. It starts with a few simple ingredients and ends in a puff of smoke. Ice-cream in seconds from liquid nitrogen! Daily flavors such as Spiced Vanilla, Lavender Honey, and Cold Brew. It's delicious and so much fun to watch.

Tried their sampler which has all six of the current flavors. The ice dream is nice and smooth but nothing too exciting and scoop size is rather small for the price. You're paying for having the ice cream made in front of you with the liquid nitrogen - which is interesting but rather inefficient and slow.

This is a cool ice cream place where the ice cream does taste good and the nitrogen blast you see is a plus. I feel the prices are steep with $5 a scoop so that’s definitely not the best part. I do really like the Nutella ice cream though. Also, they don’t take cash which is just lame.

This is some of the best ice cream I've eaten. It is so creamy, so flavorful, and super rich. The strawberry fields and nutella come to mind as two incredibly good flavors. The shop is quite small, with just 4-5 tables, with 1-2 more outside. Bathroom is always clean, even has a stool to help kids wash their hands. Staff is always super friendly. This is among my favorite businesses in Arlington. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I went here for the first time and really enjoyed the flavors. It has so much more richness and depth to the flavors than regular ice cream. We ordered the ice cream sandwich with vanilla bean. The cookies were too small and thick really for an ice cream sandwich, but were some of the best chocolate chips cookies I have ever had. The strawberry ice cream sundae was also delicious and I don't typically like strawberry ice cream at all. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

I absolutely love everything about Nicecream. The people, the visuals of liquid nitrogen smoke, the wall art, the fresh ingredients, and even the social media aspect. It's a great place for a sweet treat. I go very often. While their flavors are limited and vary often, they can make anything that you've had and liked before if you give them advanced notice. But where's the fun in that? Walk in and try something you wouldn't think of getting and fall in love with ice cream all over again.

this ice cream shop SURPRISED me. there are SO many ice cream brands but this place was by far the most DENSE and thick ice cream i've ever tasted. I think Gelato is supposed to be thick and chewy? But Nicecream was around 10 times more dense than that. We got the cold brew, dark chocolate, and the sandwich with vanilla icecream. It was SOOO GOOD and I am definitely hooked!!Plus super friendly employee~

Some fantastic ice cream. A bit of a small place, so it gets crowded quick, but well worth it. The ice cream is creamy and flavorful and their rotating flavors are always great. Their Tagalong one currently is some of the best ice cream I've had in a very long time.

Try the cinnamon vanilla and coffee ice creams if they're available. The flavors are very good. I don't know if I'd give this place 5 stars, as I've had some outstanding ice cream before. I don't know if this place is quite on par. I'm defintely comfortable giving Nicecream 4 stars, though. They use liquid nitrogen to make their ice cream, so that's a nice novel touch. It's a really cool effect to see. But, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is the ice cream. The texture is a little too melted/soft for my like when it's served, a little strange, considering that it's cold by liquid nitrogen. The coffee was a 3.5. It's good, but it doesn't differentiate itself from other coffee ice creams. The cinnamon vanilla was more unique and delicious. 4.5 for the cinnamon vanilla. This place is also on the pricey side for what you're getting. If I go back and try other flavors, I'll update this review.

Great ice cream experience. Made in front of you using liquid nitrogen. The ice cream was thick,creamy and tasted fantastic. My wife said her peanut butter cup ice cream was the best peanut butter ice cream she had beverage had. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is the first time I have been here and it will not be the last. Easily the creamiest/smoothest ice cream I have ever had. Perfect portions and unique flavor options made this an experience. Their unique process using liquid nitrogen allows them to make your ice cream on demand. It is something to see and delivers GREAT flavor. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! You too will come back again and again.

The ice cream itself was delicious. I got two scoops of vanilla chocolate chip and one scoop of blackberry. It was super smooth and creamy-more custard-like in texture than your average ice cream. Though the ice cream itself is five stars, I deducted two star for operations. I really don't understand how they only allow you to pair certain flavors together. Because the store was slow, they said they could make my ice cream to order, and pair the blackberry with the vanilla, even though the menu only said the blackberry could be paired with the chocolate. If one person can order vanilla, and the next person can order blackberry, I should be able to order blackberry and vanilla, even when it's not slow. I would definitely come back for the ice cream, not so much for the limited menu, and I place more wait on the limited menu. I need to be able to order what I want to order.

Such a cute ice cream shop. The decor and atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. They make the ice cream on the spot so it can be a bit slow of there's a line. I got the apple pie in a small. The cups look tiny but it's a perfect treat size. They change their flavors all the time so I will definitely be back since it's only about a half mile from my job.

First, this is the best handmade ice cream I have had. Second, the staff is so nice here. The employees greet everyone and seemed to work really well together. Lastly, Nicecream was so clean. The store was super clean, great atmosphere. All around you have to try it!!!

The staff was very friendly when I came in and there are a variety of flavors of ice cream, nicely named. The ambience and decorations are pretty and there is also hot chocolate. I tried a regular Speculoos flavor and it was AMAZING! With a small spoon and a perfectly portioned cup, I finished everything and savored each spoonful. It's also fun watching the nitrogen steam away. Bring your children! 5/5!

Really enjoyed the brown sugar pear ice cream. The atmosphere was really nice as well - a good place to enjoy some ice cream and relax! It's definitely really rich though; it probably tastes closer to a soft gelato than ice cream, in my opinion.

This is the best ice cream I've ever had. And I've eaten a lot of ice cream... Salted Caramel is to die for, as are any of their banana flavors (had Bananas and Cream today and a while ago some type of PB Banana on. The shop is cute and you can get a variety of flavors and creations (e.g. ice cream sandwiches and cold brew floats), as well as pints to take home.

I just moved to the area and went to Nicecream around 8 on a Thursday. Fair warning, it can get a little busy! But busy is a good thing right? The icecream was creamy and delicious thanks to the liquid nitrogen they use to freeze their ingredients. Even better, the serving sizes are reasonable and the prices are in line with what you'd expect. I will definitely be returning for an evening snack on a regular basis.

Very excellent ice cream. The mouth-feel is a little different from normal ice cream due to the use of liquid nitrogen whipped into the base to freeze it into ice cream. It's a totally different experience than other ice cream shops, and definitely worth trying. Expect to pay a bit of a premium for the experience.

Although the first time was the best option in flavors, we were told we had to go and enjoy our ice cream outside because they needed to close. 😟 It’s been several weeks. Today it early but the flavors are boring and nothing, not an exotic flavor, only one banana flavored non dairy! 🙄 Whole Food is next door, hence many options of Icecream & non dairy.

Always busy with a wait, but we loved the smooth creamy icecream! Their menu flavors rotate, so that can either be fun or disappointing if you wanted to eat your favorite flavor. You can also grab some basic vanilla pints from the freezer they have in the corner.

Coming inside I see people seated and everything is proper. The chalkboard had all of the selections. The cashier greeted me and told me about the store. Costumer service was very good. I appreciated that you could try the flavors and the ice cream was so delicious. I also went out to sit and eat, they kept my take out in their fridge graciously. I enjoyed my first time. I look forward to coming here again.

Nice cream never disappoints! Their ice cream is always top notch. I want to applaud the young lady working all alone today 2/20/18 at 2pm because she was handling everything on her own and still had a respectful and kind demeanor. This used to be my favorite ice cream place, we go there at least twice a week, but over time it has lost its appeal. For one thing, they always doesn’t have the good flavors the other three locations have. The ice cream sometimes come out inconsistent (like super chunky Nutella and crazy nutty pistachio). Also, the attitude of the servers have gone downhill lately. My mother in law took her time to try one flavor and decided against it got the eye rolling treatment from one employee. It’s not ok and I hope they will improve this location.

It’s ok. You get very creamy ice cream (pretty reflective of the nitrogen blend concept) but there aren’t very many flavors and none feel exceptionally creative. The brownie sundae was disappointing. The brownie was not fresh at all and was not warm. Whipped cream and chocolate sauce seemed similar to just reddiwhip and Hershey’s. Dark chocolate and salted pretzel ice creams were fine.

Nicecream Factory is a great place to visit for anyone looking for an amazing novelty that is sure to delight both the mind and the tastebuds. Ice cream is made fresh to order by combining a mixture of all natural ingredients (perhaps organic - I'm not 100% sure) with liquid nitrogen to create a unique, incredibly smooth and creamy ice cream. To make things even tastier, this establishment also offers sundaes and ice cream cookie sandwiches.

Bottom Line Up Front: Amazing flavored ice cream made in a novel way. One of my friends brought my girlfriend and I here and it is incredible. They make their ice cream by mixing all the flavors and ingredients into a mixing bowl and adding liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze it. They make some of their own ingredients- like their pistachio butter for the pistachio flavored ice cream-which adds to the authenticity of this place. I had the nutella flavor and it was so creamy and rich, but not overwhelming. My girlfriend got the affogato and the mix of the vanilla with the espresso made for such a great flavor. The atmosphere is that of a homely ice cream parlor since there's all these mixers like some mother's kitchen. The staff is really nice too. This will be a go to spot for dessert any time I'm in town.

Cooking with chemistry! Nicecream Factory brings out the science nerd in me. Their website succinctly explains it so: nitrogen gas enters liquid state at -321°F. When liquid nitrogen is put into the mixer, it freezes the cream and begins evaporating. Once the liquid evaporates, which takes about 10 seconds, you've got ice cream. This super cold freezing process has the ability to make a smaller ice crystal and that means a smoother product. It's actually a pretty straightforward process if you have the right equipment and there's nothing new about making ice cream from liquid nitrogen. It is still a fairly novel concept in D.C., as there is only one other place that makes ice cream from liquid nitrogen here (Faithfully Sweet). Everyone, from young children to older adults, was watching, eyes affixed to the mixers as the process unfolded like a choreographed dance. There's just something cool (pun intended) when you see clouds of vapor pour out of the mixer. It's not just ice cream, it's also a show. From the vapor rises a cup of luscious, smooth ice cream. The combination of fresh, local ingredients and liquid nitrogen science is a winner in the midst of Arlington Although I was hoping to try their strawberry basil, which everyone raves about when they talk about Nicecream, I settled for a small cup of the strawberry flavor. Delicious! The texture was creamy and smooth and the ice cream tasted very fresh. Ingredients (including the cream) are all local and the ice cream is made right in front of you - a treat for both your eyes and your stomach. Nicecream is a fantastic addition to Clarendon and definitely a promising and unique start-up to the typical chains around the area. I highly recommend stopping by Nicecream for a taste of LN(subscript)2 ice cream.

If you believe in love at first sight (I don't) then never come to Nicecream. Because, that is exactly what will happen and then your ice cream experience will never be the same again! We stopped by at 9 PM on a Summer Sunday night and the line was out the door! This generally tells me one of two things - place is good or the service is just too slow. Luckily for us, it is the former and the place is just that good! Service is good too and ordering is easy - choose one of the 6 flavors and avoid having to go thru 41 meh flavors to get your something that you like :) We tried the vanilla chocolate chunk, blueberry (flavor of the month), and key lime pie. All the 3 flavors were home runs and were super cream and full of yummy flavors! You could taste real blueberry in the Blueberry ice cream and not some flavor chemical made to taste like the real fruit. The Chocolate chunks in the Vanilla ice cream are real chunks of chocolate and not the chocolate morsels from the grocery store. Even the Key Lime pie ice cream reminded me of my Summer vacation in the Keys from way back when - except, I was in Clarendon, VA Prices are on par with premium ice cream outposts in the DMV. Just writing this review makes me want to wade thru the debris in the Potomac and head over to Arlington to have a few more scoops of these divine desserts!

Ice cream is made to order. As in, they're grabbing ingredients to actually make the ice cream in front of you, not mixing toppings into pre-made flavors. Nitrogen is on-site and all. If you're not interested in waiting, head over to the freezer where you can grab some pre-made flavors. There are a few I've never seen in other ice cream shops and are worth a try. I'm now a huge fan of one of Nicecream's original flavors and I look forward to trying the rest of them. If you're in Clarendon looking for a cool desert, this is where you'll want to go.

I tried three flavors here. the Nutella, the peach and pumpkin spice. I love that they use fresh and local ingredients! Of the three, i loved the pumpkin spice the most and the nutella actually just tastes like nutella ice cream. It is cool to watch the liquid nitrogen being used to cool the ice cream as well. The peach was good as well, and i like that i can taste the fresh peaches crunch. The people at the counter are also super nice. This place is prob 4 stars for taste and service, but my gripe is that the ice cream for a small is $5. I love ice cream, but I am starting to feel like it shouldn't cost $5 for a scoop of ice cream these days. Isn't buying local suppose to be cheaper? I would rather be spared the cool gastronomy and have cheaper good ice cream.

Cozy creamary in Clarendon. The ice cream is made fresh using nitrogen so that it is is made on the spot and fresh. They have not more than a dozen flavors but they are all fairly good. The sampler is a great value, allowing you to try 6 flavors and split it with friends. They also have affogatos such that they add a shot of espresso to your scoop of ice cream of choice.

Wanted to try this place as a birthday treat, my daughter and I had just seen a science show where they demonstrated the process. Flavors were delicious and it was quite creamy, but i noticed the single scoops we got didn't maintain it's solid state as long as you would expect ice cream to...only 3 stars bc I was concerned that the staff member making ours was just haphazardly dumping the liquid nitrogen in as opposed to pouring it in slowly, it's good there are signs that warn to keep children's hands out from under the glass bc at times the liquid was splashing out of the mixing bowls...unfortunately some children still did it but luckily none were splashed. Still, I think had the staff member used proper technique, maybe our ice cream would have held out longer.

Fantastic. How much better can one type of ice cream be from another? A whole lot better!!! They make the ice cream infront of you. The way they do it is mixing the ingredients and then adding Liquid Nitrogen (?) to supercool the mixture. It comes out creamy and awesome. I never realized the "frozen" flavor in icecream before...until it didn't have it. I highly recommend. Nice staff too.

One of my favorite ice creams in the DMV. They make it in front of you using liquid nitrogen, it makes it thicker than regular ice cream. They have no cones but the brownie Sundays are amazing. Also the menu changes every month I think.
