There are many gems along Kennedy Street N.W. and some are the best are in Brightwood Park. There's a Saturday bakery, a cidery and Everyday Sundae, a neighborhood ice cream shop with a kind owner that scoops with smiles. After visiting on a Friday afternoon, here's my experience: 1) Ice cream: 24 rotating flavors are on display every day except Mondays starting at 3 p.m. Sourcing from a creamery in Pennsylvania (don't ask the name- it's a well-kept secret), the owner lets you try as many flavors as you want. I ordered a kids size for $3.50 and it comes with two scoops of any flavor. The cookie dough and cappuccino crunch made a good combo. The ice cream is creamy, unique and full of flavor. 2) Prices: For quality ice cream, the prices aren't bad. $3.50 for a kid size with two scoops. $5.25 for a single with three scoops. A double comes with six scoops and is $5.95. They also make milk shakes. 3) Space: It's a small space, but they make good use of it. There are local products on sale in the corner and a bench up front. Displaying how loved this spot is, there's a "Love Wall" of notes from the community. 4) Service: Charles, the owner, is very friendly. He talks to every customer with respect and scoops with a genuine smile. After losing his job during the pandemic, Everyday Sundae is his pandemic pivot and you can tell it's his passion. The inspiration is contagious! If you love good ice cream, make a trip to Everyday Sundae. You'll leave inspired.

You cannot miss this place! Charles is the absolute best — he asks you exactly the order you want your ice cream (we all have preference for what’s on top/bottom), he remembers you, and he makes you feel welcome. We feel so incredibly lucky to have this shop on our street. Also, do not MISS the waffle cone. It is perfection!

Everyday Sundae is an all star gem! Stellar flavors (butter pecan my fav) and even the cones are homemade. Charles is a genuine neighbor -- squeezed us in one summer night when he had already closed, and was cleaning up. Every once in a while he changes things up with a new flavor, what a guy! We brought home a couple of pints and topped our sundaes with homemade orange marmalade. WOW!

Ice cream flavors at Everyday Sundae are absolutely delicious and the owner is very welcoming. He always suggest that we try different flavors, and each time we are pleasantly surprised by how amazing they are. Cappuccino crunch, pecan praline, and graham cracker are a few of my favorites! My friends and I really enjoyed our ice cream! There are a wide variety of flavors to try! They have a wonderful allergy chart which notes common dietary restrictions, which is perfect, as someone who has allergies! The owner is super nice! My order was technically two scoops of ice cream, one scoop of coffee and another of cappuccino crunch, so I definitely got a great value with the amount of ice cream I received!

I tried Everyday Sundae today! A hidden gem! I got the Banana Pudding Ice Cream and it was amazing! I sampled the Rum Raisin and it was great too! I will get that next time. In DC for the weekend and wanted some dessert. We stumbled on an incredible find. The owner was funny & kind and went into detail helping us pick 8 flavors for a flight of ice cream. The portions were generous. But for me personally, the highlight was that he had Superman ice cream. When I mentioned it, he immediately guessed that I grew up in MI. I haven't had Superman ice cream in 20+ years. I wish I'd taken some photos, but everything was too delicious and we ate it before I had a chance.

They make their own fresh waffle cones!!! I had the Moose Tracks and would easily go back for half a dozen more flavors. Friends got Cappuccino and Snickers. It's run by the friendliest guy. Love this addition to the neighborhood! (A must do if you are at ANXO pizza next door.)

This little ice cream spot is an ultimate gem of the neighbourhood! My husband and I were feeling spontaneous on a random late-ish Tuesday evening and came to find out Everyday Sundae was still open. Charles and his associate greeted us with the biggest joyous smile, letting us try as many flavours there were. Charles oozes with knowledge and passion about the variety flavours and you can’t help but feel joyful leaving here with your scoops of ice cream. I got the oatmeal cookie and my husband got the Graham cracker - we should’ve taken photos but ate them too quickly! We will be back!

I went with my daughter recently, and the service was incredible. He treated my daughter like a very special customer and listened to all her requests. My daughter was very happy, not just for the ice cream, but also because she had the opportunity to speak up and be heard, like any other adult customer. The best part is that it is not a chain store, and that we are supporting an actual business owner in the community. The ambiance is awesome and you will leave with a smile, guaranteed.

There once was a husband and wife who craved something sweet. Driving back home they ponder what they eat. "It would be great if we knew of an ice cream shop" the wife said. With quick action and curiosity she googled ice cream shops and found this cute gem on Kennedy St. They got direction and Whoosh! rushed to the ice cream shop. The wife went into the shop and was greeted by friendly shopkeeper. He offered many options but she knew chocolate was her heart's desire. As for the husband heart's desire? that was a difficult task to overcome. The shopkeeper knew the right delicious recommendation. Something waffle and cheesecake. As the wife exited the shop the husband noticed her ear to ear smile. She couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the experience was and all the flavors being offered! Worried the husband reminded her to eat the melting ice cream. Both happy to have found this gem, they drove home with huge smiles as finished their ice creams. Oh! and they are excited to bring their friends to another visit at Everyday Sundae.

This place is magical. Everything I tried was amazing. The service was phenomenal, the establishment was extremely clean; I have nothing but great things to say. Wow. The only thing that comes close to matching the quantity and deliciousness of the ice cream is the friendliness, joy, and genuine warmth of Charles who spent 15 minutes with our family chatting (answering my son's 10,000 questions and encouraging him to ask more) and letting us try all the unique and delicious flavors. The only downside is that I will need the will power to not go back every day for a scoop!

You guys--they use smaller scoops so you can try multiple flavors, even on a single. Which is really vital information because they have so many yummy flavors--from classic favorites like cookies & cream and mint chip, to some funner newer flavors (don't sleep on the salted caramel or the key lime pie). The waffle cones were light and crispy, and everyone working there was super friendly. We can't wait to come back!

I’m posting this about ten minutes after just leaving Everyday Sundae (long enough to finish my ice cream). What wonderful ice cream and even better service. The ice cream is delicious and creamy. There’s a mix of traditional flavors and more unusual ones, as well as some with lots of bits and toppings in them and some just plain, creamy ice cream. My favorite was the graham cracker and other folks getting ice cream that night were raving about the cookie dough and cappuccino crunch. A “single” actually comes with three scoops and you can do all different flavors. The service is perhaps even more special than the ice cream. The owner Charles engages with everyone in the shop while helping multiple customers at the same time. He offers lots of samples (and even gave me a bonus scoop when I couldn’t decide on a flavor!). He’s kind and it’s clear he genuinely cares about every person who comes in. I want to go back for more delicious ice cream, but honestly more so to support this incredible neighborhood business and service. Thanks for all you’ve built, Charles!

So we just checked out this ice cream spot & it was AMAZING! The owner was super friendly as well as the staff. After a couple samples, I went with the oatmeal cookie. It did not disappoint! We asked the owner how long he'd been there & he's been open one year & one week. Between the flavors offered & the friendly service, he'll be there for many more years. My daughter is new to the neighborhood and this weekend we helped move her in. Being ice cream lovers, Everyday Sundae was a great reward after moving stuff on a hot day. So good, in fact, that we came back again. Good thing we don't live here because we'd be there every night! I had the Buttery Praline Pecan Friday evening and Dark Chocolate Raspberry on Saturday, both were absolutely delicious, as were the homemade waffle cones. Stop thinking about it and just go! Go now! We took my son and his cousin here to give Everyday sundae a try the day after their grand opening. My son loves red so he chose “Superman” flavor - bright red yellow and blue. I snagged a mom bite and it was delightfully smooth and creamy. I ended up going with vanilla - it was perfection, creamy and not too sweet on a house made waffle cone. Perfect for a hot day. Charles and his son Bryce were welcoming and knowledgeable- glad we were able to get to this place before it gets busy cause it’s gonna be the spot this summer. I’d have taken a picture but the kids gobbled it down too quick. Will definitely be coming back! Thanks Charles!

Well, I am here to tell you as a self proclaimed ice cream aficionado this place is the absolute best. Charles, the owner was serving up the best ice cream that I have put in my mouth ever!! He gladly let us sample numerous flavors. I opted for a single waffle cone with 1 scoop of chocolate, 1 scoop of Roadrunner Raspberry and 1 scoop of Burbon Ribbon. Now in my book that would be a a triple but who am I to argue? Charles was a great host as he served up this delicious frozen concoction. My husband says his new best friend is Charles! God's Favorite (AYHJA)

I grew up down south. Blue Bell ice cream is the law. I love ice cream so much I keep Lactaid in my wallet. Not going to let an intolerance stop me. I've said all that to say, this ice cream make Blue Bell look like a welfare case. It's so good it's frustrating, each one of those little spoons they hand to you will have something magical and delicious on the other side of it. You find yourself stuck, unable to make a damn decision. Thank God I live close and can walk down like a good Taurus and have them all. 👊🏾

On 2/26/23, I attended the Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church in San Diego California, and the pastor talked about what a great ice cream parlor this is. My granddaughter goes to Gallaudet University. I hope to visit her and when I do, I will try this ice cream place.
