This is a cool little place with tons of options (see the pics) I had the Mint Chocolate Mocha shake and it was thicccccc. My wife loved the soft serve I'm removing a start just based on the price. This is easily a $$ ice cream shop even though maps has it as $. It was 9$ for the shake! #inflation

That is a seriously consistently flavorful ice cream. Perfectly melty, a ton of flavor options, and the perfect vibe for an afternoon ice cream. The road noise isn’t too bad, and the service is great!! 10/10 would eat again!

They have delicious milkshakes and ice cream. The hamburgers at the adjacent store are also good, and it has a very retro (1950s) feel. I have tried numerous flavors of shakes and different ice cream plates. All very delicious. Any time I want ice cream, this is my first choice.

We ordered this specialty cake for my husband's birthday one day in advance. Fudgie The Whale, with the message "To a Whale of a Husband" (From The Simpsons). It looks beautiful. It survived and hour and a half ride home in an thermal bag with ice. We aren't eating it until this weekend, so I can't comment on taste, but they are usually delicious!! Thank you!

Stopped by with a friend on a whim. Literally the sweetest staff. Very helpful, very patient. The shop itself is so nostalgic. It’s like I stepped in a time machine and was transported to my childhood. Colorful with so many menu items to choose from. Overwhelming in a good way lol. Oh and the ice cream. DELISH! My friend got the fudge brownie and I a vanilla soft serve with sprinkles. So good!

Always a special treat for me and my grandchildren, just as it was for their parents 10 and 20 years ago. Even at age 30, my children still love a Carvel Ice Cream Cake for their birthdays.

The staff seems a bit disconnected and not attentive when I was ordering and asking questions about what they had available. But the ice cream is amazing as usual of the Carvel brand no matter where you go.

We Drove 45 minutes to get the Hocus Pocus milkshakes and they did not disappoint.. They were delicious..

Great product and service. I needed to have my cake delivered lat minute. The people at Carel made sure the delivery driver was able to get the cake and even packed the box with ice. Thank you!

The icecream is great and the staff is pretty nice aswell! Outdoor seating makes it a great place to eat and chat with friends. The only thing is that it's just very overpriced for what it is. I got a small cup of soft serve vanilla icecream, and it was like ~6 dollars :( Other than that, it's a super cute little place with great staff!

This place is wildly expensive even by DMV standards. There is always a line so I finally decided to try it. The ice cream is good but it should cost about 50% less

The ice cream is very overpriced for the quality and quantity. Service is slow as well, with a couple customers ahead of me complaining their orders were wrong. They have customizable cakes, but to be honest the significantly cheaper, but still officially licensed, carvel cakes at the grocery store would be a better purchase. Not a huge fan overall.

Good, friendly service. This Carvel is connected to another restaurant named Mario's. Great pizza, great burgers and a longtime staple in the Arlington,VA community. I love this area because of places like this.

I had to write a review of these guys since it seems to be leaning negatively. My experiences with this place have always been spot on, I always get the soft-serve since that's what I associate Carvel with. Never had a bad experience here. Love the vibe/aesthetic, the colors and building take me back to the 90s when I was little. Great at night time too when the neon lights are on and buzzing.

Very nice employee with great customer service and super patient with my man who was undecided. The icecream beats other places hands down! And as far as milkshakes and other extra toppings, cakes made to order. The choices are overwhelming! It might be small but totally worth going to! Definitely recommend the tropical flavor ice cream!

Old-school place with walk-up window (can order inside as well). TONS of flavor/topping options. Great cakes also. Line took forever (only one person working), and prices are ridiculous ($10+ for a medium carvalanche). Will say that their ice cream tastes great. Not sure if worth the price though.

I didn't like the ice cream flavor I got. I went back and asked if there was anything they can do. They said absolutely, gave me a taste of another flavor so I'd see if I'd like it, and was able to order an ice cream of my choice. Great customer service all around!

Ehhhhh. Only been here three times and got shakes. They're just OK. They don't blend well; i had chunks of peaches all up in my straw and it impeded what should have been a consistent flow of delectable savory sweetness dancing with my taste buds. Uhhhh, Hell no!!! My Peach Pineapple joint was subaverage. Not sweet enough, no hint of pineapple and i shared the peach issue. But, hey, they have 99 other flavors. Those joints are probably bad too. Let me change this to a 2 star. It was cold. And don't get me started on how long it took for them to make it.

We often visit Carvel to enjoy their soft serve ice cream. It’s not that much sweet and flavourful, that's why we like it most. We also tried their sundaes but we actually didn’t like their sundaes. We will always visit Carvel to have their yummy ice cream.

Got a small round birthday cake. The guy helping me was pleasant, but I'm not at all impressed with the product. The price here is significantly more than the other carvel location in maryland or carvel cakes in stores (~$36 for a small round cake serving 8-10), but I didn't notice much of a difference in taste from store carvel cakes. There was also the same super-thin layer of crunchies in the middle. Expected more for one made in-store.

The owner never forgets my order. Even though I order extra toppings. Friendly guy trying to keep a classic confectionery institution going in the Arlington area. Deserves support from HQ w/marketing and promotion. Would hate to lose this place as there's nothing to replace it anywhere near here.

Love this place. Reminds me of being a kid. My kids love it too. It can get kinda busy, so just be patient. The staff is attentive, just overwhelmed. Ice cream and cones are always OP.

Carvel customer for 35+ year. Delightful conversation w. owner> Ordered a special order cake-coffee and cookies n' cream over the phone. We love REAL Carvel products-check out grocery store Carvel ice cream cakes made by Richfoods...full of additives, etc. NEVER BUY THESE WHEN YOU CAN GET HOMEMADE!! Ice cream made daily. Arlington store only one in NoVa.

On a warm summer night, this place is excellent as it still has the walk-up windows. Watch out for parking though - if you're on the wrong side as the fence, you'll get towed by the business next door.
