What can I say? A picture is worth a 1000 words. Picture perfect! Amazingly put together ice cream bliss. I went on a Saturday and they were super busy. 45 minutes after placing my order it was delivered to my table. Short staffed for the volume of customers. But my ice cream was delicious!

They have gluten free and dairy free options!! It was delicious! All four kids enjoyed their little ice cream cups.... And the adults enjoyed their big milkshakes. The cereal killer is very good and gluten free

There a lot going with their treats! I got the middle size bowl both times and felt that more ice cream would've been nice. The extra things (cookie, brownie, cinnamon bun, cheesecake-which was frozen and couldn't be eaten at the time) can take away from it being ice cream. Again, probably because I got a bowl instead of the pint glass. I took my son the 2nd time I went. He also enjoyed it. Both times, I could finish my treat and took the leftovers home. They were just as good the next day. The Yard is expensive but you are paying for the experience, as well, and they do a great job with their creations. Next time I go, I think I'll keep it simple and try a milkshake. And I love that they have a washing station!

This place was AMAZING!!! So many options to choose from. You can get small portions with a couple of scoops of ice cream up to a mason jar all decked out of ice cream with a slice a cheese cake on top or a banana! I was simply in awe! Plus you get to keep the jar!

Came here on 8/11 with my boyfriend and some family and we all had a great time the milkshakes were some of the best I’ve ever had, I got the Triple Chocolate Chunk in a souvenir mason jar and it was so good and it came with a pretty good sized brownie too, my boyfriend got the Cookie Monster also in a souvenir mason jar and it came with tiny cookies and a cookie ice cream sandwich which was cool and his sister got the creamy caramel s’more ice cream in a mason jar that came with a small popsicle and it was also great too. The mason jars are also so cute I can’t wait to reuse mine. We all enjoyed ourselves while here and we’ll definitely be back again in the future. Highly recommend

If you want a good picture for Instagram, this is the place for you; Otherwise there are some problems. It took a full hour to get our 2 “milkshakes”. The prices are high and it was very crowded. The “milkshakes” were good, but not worth the price, the wait, or the crowd.

This is my second time here, but our daughters first time. We came with friends and it was there first time too. The line wasn't long this time and it was easy to order. I order the Milk & Cookies, while my husband got the Carmel Cheesecake milkshake. They both was delicious and you get to keep the glass mug. However, it can get messy if you bring a toddler.

Great place for Instagram pics. Not so great for enjoying food. The layout of the place is so cramped. Everything was just too sweet. I could barely finish my milkshake and my friend couldn't even finish his cookie dough. The employees were super nice though

This place is known for their ginormous milkshakes. They are a stomachache in a jar but in my opinion, soooo worth it! They use Hershey's ice cream which I enjoy. You can also get each milkshake option as a bowl of ice cream instead of a shake, and it's a little smaller, which is nice. They also have white a few flavors of edible cookie dough which are also good. The main downside for me is you're definitely paying for the experience/photos you take of your extra large desserts, so it's overpriced.

Great milkshakes and ice cream sundaes!! Because I had little ones we sanitized everything down and found a corner. they need a bigger place hopefully they'll be blessed with one soon. but they are practicing covid safety unfortunately most people there that day wasn't in such a small place. Right now it's best to grab and go at their least busiest time.

I've been dying to try this place and was sadly disappointed. The milkshakes LOOK just as good as all the pictures you see. The artistry was perfect, but honestly the milkshake taste was very sub par. Any Cookout or Sonic shake tastes better. My fiance and I tried the Carmel Cheesecake and PB Brownie Bliss. Both lacked flavor. The shop was cute, but tiny. There was plenty of seating outside. I probably won't come back.

My mother and I went to The Yard. We ordered it to go. She had the salted caramel cheesecake, I had strawberries and cream cheesecake and the cereal killer for my brother. This was soooo good, OMG!!!! LET'S just say we will be returning, THANK YOU 😊!!!! Second time around and it was just as AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

I'm not a boy, but the milkshakes sure did bring me out to The Yard! It's too bad there aren't many gourmet ice cream restaurants in Newport News... Anyway, I was in VA Beach, so I decided to pay this place a visit. The physical location of this establishment isn't the best. It's off VA Beach Blvd, so there are plenty of other restaurants in the vicinity, but of course there aren't many like this one. This milkshake shop is located on a small strip with a few other businesses. The parking is terrible. Considering how popular this shop is, there isn't enough seating or space inside to accommodate all the patrons. The two times I've been here, there was literally a line out the door. The first time I visited, I turned around and left because the line was out the door and down the pavement (AND it was raining outside!). No thank you. Went back the second time, the line was still out the door, but it was a wee bit shorter than the first time, so I stood in line. Made it to the inside of the shop and was taken aback seeing how crowded it was. Anyway, they have a variety of flavors and creations. Very few options for lactose intolerant persons, but at least they have options. I ordered the Berry Key'd Up milkshake. My 2 friends ordered the Peanut Butter Finger Waffle Sundae and the Edible Cookie Dough in 3 flavors. There was no room to sit inside the shop, so we went outside. I like that they have seating available outside on the side of the building, but it smells horrible out there. It was already hot and humid, but adding on the smell of dirty mop water and flies buzzing all around - that was the worst. The staff brought our orders to us outside. My milkshake was delicious - VERY VERY sweet - but then again, what else would you expect from a milkshake that's piled with sugary topping after sugary topping after sugary topping? And if I hadn't already eaten a whole calzone minutes before ordering this dessert, I probably could've eaten/drank the whole thing! There's a small area inside the shop where 2 sinks stand. You're able to rinse out the jars (hot and cold water available), dry them with paper towels, and place the jars in a plastic bag to take home. I love that idea. Anyway, I took off a star for the location, parking, overcrowding inside, and horrible smell outside. Positive rating goes to the staff, the dessert options, the presentation, and the flavor! I'll definitely visit again (whenever I'm on that side of the water and in that area again, and feel like waiting in a long line again).

Any ice cream lover in the world has to be amazed the first time you see this menu! It was overwhelmingly delicious. Definitely worth sharing if you can. Portions are huge. Overall, a great experience! And—best left overs ever! I get a peanut shake treat on my way back to GA.

Fun place that you've gotta try at least once. Ice cream/milkshake concoctions are over the top and a great experience. A little pricey but worth it for the unique desserts. All ingredients (ice cream, cheesecake, brownies, etc) are very high quality and delicious. Got the salted caramel cheesecake shake, brownie batter peanut butter bowl, and some edible cookie dough - all fantastic!

Really interesting concept. Serves Hershey's brand ice cream, but the various sundaes and shakes are great concepts. I had the salted caramel cheesecake sundae. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a bit pricey but a great splurge every now and then. Very busy though. Be prepared to stand on line.

Went early to avoid the crowds. I'm not sure what the hype is about. The employees looked joyless and weren't very polite at all. I believe the owners were there cleaning they seemed friendly but we battled fruit flies the entire time we were there not just one or two but several. I wish we knew there was outside seating I wouldve rather sat out there. Shake was ok, a little runny. Too big to finish so you get your money's worth.

I took my little duckling to The Yard this past weekend and we were not disappointed! He ordered an Oreo single scoop with whipped cream and sprinkles and I had a small crazy vanilla. It was good but you should’ve seen the look on his face when not one…not two…but THREE “Cookie Monsters” came out!!! He said he was ready for more ice cream but I had to let him know Uncle DJ’s pockets were tapped out for the day 😂 Thank you for amazing service, ice cream was phenomenal, this spot is always buzzing but well worth the wait! Check them out sometime 💪🏿

Lots of interesting flavors and custom creations. This has replaced Cold Stine as my go-to ice cream shop. Their custom shakes and sundaes are more creative and Price overall is significantly less. My wife and I ride our bikes here at least twice a week in the summer months.

This is one SWEET spot. They have some unique mix-in and crazy combinations. The ice cream was good. The menus were frustrating though. The screens flipped back and forth too quickly and were crowded with large descriptions. The girl at the front could have been a little more patient with our 8 year old. I had tried to go here before but wasn't in the mood to wait it at the time. If that many people are willing to wait it must something worth trying! So I finally passed by when the line was shorter and I now know it's worth the wait even with a line out the door! The ice cream was wonderful and presentation was beautiful. My dog approves aswell.

The line to order went pretty smoothly however be prepared to wait about 15-20 mins for your order. Each order is delicately prepared and decorated. Ordered the Arnold's Palmer and Birthday cake milkshake. Unless you have a huge sweet tooth, one milkshake/sundae is enough for 2 people plus we got to keep the mason jars as a souvenir. There was some seating inside with more outside. A very yummy treat on a hot day.

This place was absolutely magical!! The wait was about 20 minutes but they let you know before you order. Everyone was polite and helpful. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables in the back. The ice cream looked even better than the pictures on the menu! Insanely delicious as well! And you get to keep the cup! I will be back!

For the price you pay for items it should be a little better. Needs better customer service as well. Everything we asked for... the answe was "No, we don't do that here" I even tried ordering a cup of coffee. They didn't have cream. Only sugar. And found that out after 15 minutes of waiting for the coffee.

The place seems to always have a line but the system for getting orders through runs pretty smoothly. You may have to wait 20+ minutes once you place your order but its such a unique dessert place, its well worth the wait. And don't worry about your order melting, it all comes out as soon as its made.

Food is Great. New staff is verbally challenged. I ordered a 3 scoop cup with 3 different flavors and he couldn't understand. He kept ringing up 3 orders which totaled 28.00. I told him my order is 8.00. He was still confused. I'll give him a pass for now.

Location is accessible and has parking. The parking is a bit limited so during the weekend it will probably be challenging to get a space. The inside is a bit small and with the COVID-19 protocols, seating inside can be challenging when packed. They have an outside section but it is also a bit small. Do it for the gram. $15 for a milkshake is a lot, but you aren’t buying just the milkshake (thankfully, it is a very average milkshake). You are literally buying an Instagram post and a memory. The Orange Crush shake was solid but not outstanding and the Cookie Monster and Oreo and Worms were both alright. The brownie or donut on top is definitely the way to go. Definitely a novel concept but be ready to spend an arm and a leg.

Wow wow wow! This ice cream shop is definitely one of a kind!! Went for my daughter’s birthday and we weren’t disappointed. Even had a panic moment because I forgot my wallet, luckily they take Apple Pay. Friendly staff and yummy ice cream. Little pricey but hey look at what you’re getting!! Mason jar shakes are big enough to share for sure!

First and foremost: Go to the Sweet Spot instead for better extreme milkshakes! It was alright but it was the best or worth returning for. The brownie on top of the chocolate peanut butter milkshake was disgusting. The milkshakes melted by the time we got our order. My husband got the cookie dough milkshake and thought it was okay. The staff was so kind and helpful. It would be a 1 star without the employees. P.s. don't sit by the washing sink. A line formed while people waited to wash their mugs and someone coughed on me unintentionally, but still. Those tables should be blocked off. #covid

Was good, but milkshakes were very thin/watery. Will ask next time if they can be made on the thicker side. The pictures on website make the mason jars look bigger, they are the smaller mason jars/pint size. Kids REALLY enjoyed the experience. Stopped by during CV19 restrictions, so due to capacity limits there was a wait outside, but the manager came out and offered us to go in & place the order and they could bring them to the car to go. The customer service was attentive/quick to the wait at the door.

I ordered I put a spell on you, now you're mine October special, hubby ordered mint green monster, and our kid ordered Cereal killer. The brownie was dry and had the feel of one that's just been sitting out uncovered most of the day. The staff was very friendly, hard working, and even offered large plastic cups to drop everything in since it was raining out. A very nice,thoughtful touch we appreciated. Over all, not terrible but all 3 of us felt it wasn't worth what we spent. The mason jar is nice though. We all agreed we will go back and try something else at some point but next time we're craving a milkshakes, we'll prob head to Cookout.

Great place. Variety of options available. Personally I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all by myself so I chose a chocolate milkshake and it was great! The only thing I didn't like is the location. Wish they were in a larger place with plenty of parking but other than that no complaints

The shakes are great, and true to created flavors! I.e. s'mores shake has a campfire smoke essence to the taste. Great culinary works of art! They should give you something to transport the jars in for going home so you don't get chocolate/syrup/frosting all over your drink holders.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we had to wait over an hour between the line to get in the door and then the wait to get our sundaes. The ice cream was delicious once we got it though. I would get it again, but definitely not when the line is so long.

We visited from out of town and even after mentioning it was our first time the the cashier wasn't much help. I'm glad we all read the online menu before going. It was a fun experience & the souvenir cup was nice to take home. A slop sink to rinse the glass or at least a plastic bag to put the dirty glass in for taking home would have earned a 5th star.

Over the top is more than just an expression, it's what you'll get in your milkshake or sundae! The flavor combinations are delicious and the presentation a feast for your eyes. So big you think you won't finish it but it tastes so good that you will!

Oh my goodness! The shakes here are extremely ridiculous! We bought four shakes: one had a whole donut, another had a creamsicle, a whole brownie, and mine had cookie dough! I will say while these did make for really amazing pictures, the shakes were simply ok. They are not as thick as I would prefer a milkshake to be. In a way it was sickly sweet. I would suggest sharing one for the cost and how large they come. They come in a pint size mason jar with some type of additional sweet treat! Would recommend for sure!!

I ordered the Birthday cake bowl without all the sprinkles. Let's just say I'm good for a week with the sweets. It's a kids paradise. I'm good with just a plain old bowl of vanilla ice cream

This place was pretty good. Definitely a “one time to experience it” kind of thing since it’s pretty pricey. It cost me about $60 with tip for three shakes, but it was worth it. The shakes are enourmous so you definitely get your moneys worth. We tried to go on a Saturday night and it was packed. We came back the following morning right when they opened and it was perfect. I recommend going with an empty stomach as soon as they open and also get a bottle of water to wash it down because they are super rich.

Kind of overrated which is probably why we had to wait for an hour and 13 minutes to get our $26 order: 1 milkshake and 1 root beer float. There were at least 25 others with us waiting in the alley for their orders, standing/sitting in the cold for a frozen drink. I'm surprised at our species every day at the lengths we'll take for novelty food and now that I've fallen into one of those phenomenons I'm disappointed in myself. My daughter's delight for her sugar-drenched treat was overshadowed by her boredom. It was like being at the DMV as they called our numbers in various order, leaving us in a hopeful suspense for over an hour. Throw a piece of cheesecake in a Chick-fil-A milkshake and stay home!

If I go get a regular milkshake it’s gonna be 6-7 dollars for the same size. For 15$ with the cup to take home and all the extras I feel like it’s worth it. What you get looks exactly like the pictures. They should get an ordering app though to make it easier to pre-order ahead of time. But all in all great experience!!!❤️❤️❤️

Was super excited when this chain opened in my local area. We have been a total of four times since it has opened. Every time it’s the same experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, upbeat, and kind. The milkshakes are a little gimmicky and super sweet. There is a huge range of choices for everyone even our four legged family member. One of the few places my friend who it vegan can go for dessert! Would recommend.

The actual taste of the shakes are pretty good and they look pretty cool which is obviously the novelty of the place, but it definitely feels like a one time thing to say you did it. The shakes taste good but they aren’t $17 good lol like I said definitely just a novelty place, but you can’t hate on it. You get to keep your mason jar as well. They even have a cleaning station for you. I will say and to be honest with how “extravagant” the drinks are, it is pretty messy inside. Toppings everywhere sticky tables and floor and seats, so cleaning could be better but with only two people working I do see where it’s harder for them to keep up the dining and taking orders. Like I said we already half expected what the experience was gonna be like before we went, we got a couple laughs watching the kids try and eat/drink the creation and we got an eccentric and edible shake outta the ordeal. The girls behind the counter had good customer service as well so that’s a plus.

We were in town visiting family and decided to check this place out. The place was busy but the staff was very friendly and worked quickly to ensure everyone was served in a timely manner. Despite the place being packed, the ice cream came out quickly and beautifully!!! I don’t usually take pictures of my food but at this place I just couldn’t resist! The ice cream didn’t only look great. It tasted great and you get a lot of bang for your buck! After finishing your treat, you get to keep the souvenir mason jar that the ice cream and shakes come in (don’t worry, they have a sink to wash them out first). I would 100% recommend trying this place out the next time you visit Virginia Beach!

The ice cream is definitely tasty here but I still don't understand why you can't just walk in and get a cone in Wok out the only problem I see with this place it tends to only cater to people who are sitting down to actually have their ice cream they're shifting into more like a restaurant deal it's somewhat was set up almost like a Baskin Robbins but you have to wait 40 minutes for ice cream was a little too much. They definitely need to work on their speed on service. The only reason I know that the ice cream was tasty was because we did manage to get something out the refrigerator but it was $13 a bottle

A summer time instant favorite without a doubt! My first time to this place and it didn't disappoint! Extravagant flavors to choose from, my strawberries and cream cheesecake (in a waffle bowl) had an entire slice of cheesecake on top!!! I look forward to them expanding and having more seating for a better dine in experience, but that's not even a negative! The wait was about 30 minutes but if you're not in a rush or have good company the time flies and the product is WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Catch you next time!!

A very unique and neat concept. The earlier you’re able to visit in the day the better. We went around one in the afternoon and hardly had to wait and there was more than enough available seating. Definitely not an every day place to visit as it’s quite expensive, even for a plain milkshake. The quality is pretty good, however something did taste a bit off in my cookie dough milkshake. But it’s a nice touch that you get to keep the mason jars. There is an area available to wash them out, dry and bag them to take home. Overall, it’s a cool place to visit probably only once while you’re in the area.

My first time at The Yard, but have tasted a shake of theirs before as my daughter has been prior. Friends from NY were in town and we decide to check it out. While you'll wait in line during the peak months, it went smoothly and gave you time to pick out from all the massive items on the menu! Be prepared to also wait roughly 10 minutes for your tasty treat to be prepared and brought right to you :) They have some indoor seating and outdoor seating along the side and back of the building. Staff is very friendly, and yes you get to wash out the mason jar right there to keep as a souvenir! Definitely worth 5 stars, except for the outrageous price, but we all have to splurge every now and again!

Had a great experience at this establishment. If you are willing to try some extravagant desserts, this is the place you want to go! Went on a busy holiday weekend so when we placed our order (5 milkshakes) the estimated wait time was 1 hour. We ended up getting our milkshakes in about 40 minutes and they were stacked so high, some of the items did start to fall off. I lost my slice of cheesecake and the team replaced it without hesitation. No extra charge. It was sweet and the small pieces of cheesecake did make it a little hard to drink but I grabbed a spoon and was able to enjoy my milkshake with no problem. You do get to keep the mason jars after you finish your milkshake so that was amazing... a bit pricey but it was worth it. Considering the distance from where I live and the sweetness and price (almost $90 for all 5 specialty milkshakes) it might not be somewhere I go often, but it is a nice treat on occasion.

We visited a few days ago and we had an enjoyable experience! Ordering is easy, and there are plenty of choices for ice cream and milkshake lovers. I got the Orange Crush milkshake in a pint jar and it was delicious! Sure, it's a little pricey, but I'd like to think it was worth it for the souvenir jar. There's even a washing area for the jars after you're done enjoying the milkshake. It's a great place for an after-dinner dessert or a hangout with family and friends for a special occasion.

Great experience with our family and friends! There were 9 of us total in our group, the cashier took the order and didn’t skip a beat. The staff was friendly and wonderful they weren’t even phased by such a large order. Everyone enjoyed their treats and of course had to try each other’s because all of them looked so good! Problem resolved perfectly! This happened in February but wanted to update as I know how important a good review is and like to give credit where credit is due instead of always complaining. Here are some snippets of the issue that I emailed to corporate: 1. They didn't have the size requested (L) in shirts for my daughter so she chose a Medium which is ok, but a bit tight so not preferred. 2. I was told they were "out of hot chocolate". There was no sign up stating that and the cashier wasn't aware of that at time of purchase. 3. I was told to get in the BACK OF THE LINE to order something else, waited for the 7 ORDERS in front of me to be placed. The cashier (same person as the cashier earlier) said I'm sorry I didn't know we were out and proceeded to charge me the full price of the Build your own milkshake of my choosing. I thought "wow, not even a discount for my inconvenience and time?" Then I sat down to watch my kids eat their beautiful creations, then they had to wait for me once I finally got mine. 4. Went to wash out the souvenir mason jars and noticed they were for the Alabama location. I stopped one of the servers and asked her why the jars said Alabama instead of VA beach and she said "I don't know, that's just what we have" and kept walking. That wasn't an answer plus she kept walking... really?? 5. The store was clean, well-lit and decorated very well. But really expected a better customer service experience than what was had. I received correspondence via email with a company rep, they asked about shirt size and a few other questions. Bottom line is I was just disappointed with the customer service side of things at the store overall. Soon after I received a box of items that more than made up for the issues. Included were the mason jars with the correct location which we're still using and appreciating! Thanks so much for trying to make things right! We'll definitely be back for a visit when in the area again. Glad to see a company who cares about its' customers!

I have a sweet tooth and thought the concept of this place sounded great. I probably should have known that I set too high of expectations in my head. I arrived to a short line outside the store of less than 10 people with a posted wait time of 20 minutes. What I didn’t realize is that wait time was to place an order and did not include the 40 minutes to receive the milkshake after I ordered. A standard milkshake will cost you $20 after tax and tip. They are served in a standard Mason jar and are not particularly big. I got the Strawberries and Cheesecake milkshake. The slice of cheesecake was decent. The milkshake tasted good, but was very thin and runny to the point I drank it straight from the jar rather than use a spoon. All in all for $20 for a milkshake, I would have been much happier with a strawberry milkshake from Chick Fil A and a piece of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory down the street and it would have been cheaper. It is a cool concept. I would still go once, but not somewhere I would return.

Had been lot forward to trying this place. As someone who is lactose intolerant, we had heard that had some vegan options. They had one themed vegan milkshake which was $15 as the other themed milkshakes were. It came with one chocolate chip cookie on top with some whipped cream. All of the other shakes had a variety of different things on top. I was surprised at how long it took them to make the one shake I ordered as I was the only person in the place at the time. The shake tasted good but was extremely thin and watery. I'm glad I went when there was not a line. Probably would not go again.

Soon after The Yard first opened, with 3 teenagers in tow, we waited for about an hour and a half in line outside. Not anyone’s favorite thing but we made it fun! This was also on a Friday night! I was shocked at how kind, patient and upbeat the employees were! They were all so sweet and patient; I’m not sure if I would have been had I been in that situation! Each of them were absolutely wonderful! Everything was clean and nicely decorated, it was a fun space! It’s not huge inside but they do provide lots of outdoor tables and chairs underneath string lights. Loved the variety of options and all the vegan choices available! Great experience!

Long lines at 3 in the afternoon, waited probably 45 minutes after ordering. There were 2 or 3 birthday parties so that may have contributed. My husband and I went to The Yard when it first opened. We both ordered the vegan option, No Milk. It was super yummy and was served quickly. This is a great spot with delicious deserts, but I had an interesting experience today. There were flies flying on the scoopers seems like on the cookie dough. Me and another customer tried to point it out, but the staff was very lackadaisical and nonchalant about it! That is disgusting!! Finally a team member reluctantly changed the spoon but flies were on other scoopers. I hope a manger can get a better reign on the staff. Meanwhile the cashier was rubbing her nose :/. We have tried the 4th of July special with cookies and cream. It was ok. Not my favorite ice cream option. It was also a bit melted since they were very busy when we went. I got it more for the red, white and blue theme. I would recommend going when not packed to avoid part of your order getting melted. We also tried the mint chip. It was insanely good and very minty. The orange creamsicle was also incredible! Recommend both!

We were in Virginia Beach and my husband asked me to google The Yard Ice Cream. It was 12:00pm there was no line, a little early for ice cream for most. They let us sample a couple of flavors. Went to get Milkshakes and such for my son's 13th Birthday. We are a family of 6. We opted to take it to-go because it was a longer wait to dine-in. The experience at first was great, the front end was so patient as we all took our time and chose exactly what we wanted and $83.00 later we went to the waiting area to wait for our order. We noticed the crowd leaving and decided to ask to get a table to stay. The server told us yes and we grabbed a table set for 5 people and borrowed a chair from another table. The Hostess came to the table and in a very aggressive manner said "I need you to put the chair back that you took from this table". I explained we didn't know we couldn't use the chair and explained it was our first time there. She continued to treat us with aggressive mannerisms so my husband spoke with her manager. The manager apologized and spoke with the Hostess and we decided to Go. We received our order and realized one dessert was missing so I went back inside to get it and again the front counter team was apologetic and very pleasant. The server apologized and I told her it wasnt her fault as she wasn't aware of our family size. Everyone has bad days and I chalked it up as the Hostess day. We enjoyed our dessert and we will be back. It was so good!

Came here for a tasty treat after dinner with my friends and my 10 year old daughter. This is my 2nd visit here.. The 1st was fantastic.. My daughter got the unicorn shake and got the butter pecan (my favorite) ice cream on a cone. This 2nd visit was terrible I was told they no longer carry butter pecan. Then they brought me some praline replacement in a broken cone so most came of when they handed it to me and they didn't care. Then everyone at the table got theirs and were eating for at least 10 mins and my daughter still hadn't gotten hers. Turns out they forgot about her order! On the way driving home from your store I had to hit the breaks and bam all the jars flew off the seat and hit the floor and cracked- The ice cream is great but how come it costs so much? Come on $43 for 3 pints of Ice cream? Why do I have to buy it in those glass jars anyway? I've bought 9 of them now and I don't need any more! Am I paying for these jars? Did I say it cost too much, but its really really good? But it's not coffee so I gaurantee people will stop buying it at those prices. And, you had about 4 too many employee's working maybe that's why it cost so much. Really $43 for 3 pints of ice cream in a jar that doesn't look like it can hold a pint anyway. I don't want you guys to close like ''Cold Stone'' so get it together!

It's a long wait on a weekend evening. The shakes are every bit as good as they look and they look amazing. Eat quick though, they fall apart quickly in the heat! Only 4 stars because I think they can speed up making the shakes a little.

We both got specialty milkshakes (the Beetlejuice and the peanut butter brownie). They were tasty but not worth $15+tax each. They come in a souvenir mason jar to take home (we returned them as we had no need for them, but a nice takeaway if you want it). The person at the front door did a fantastic job managing the line, bussing tables, and checking on guests (props to you bouncer of Club Ice Cream!) Yes, we affectionately refer to The Yard as Club Ice Cream now. We went around 6pm and it was slammed the entire time, but the "bouncer" was great at getting people inside in a covid safe manner. The music would switch from soft top 40s to very loud club beats, made us chuckle but hence the nickname Club Ice Cream. Giving 3 stars due to the price. The people, building itself, and atmosphere were great but we wouldn't pay that much for ice cream or a milk shake again.

Walked in here on my wife's birthday with here and my step father. Had an amazing experience as soon as we opened the door. Staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Visiting The Yard is definitely an experience and well worth going at least once if you're in VA Beach. I gave it 4/5 because of how packed it was in such a tiny establishment. I can't complain too much because it was Saturday at a ice cream shop in June. Of course there were wall to wall people! This place is AMAZING! Take the complaints with a grain of salt. Yes, they are a little expensive, but you are paying for QUALITY and the service, atmosphere, staff, and (most importantly) the ice cream are FANTASTIC! The ice cream is delicious, the portions are SUPER GENEROUS (as in, one Sunday will feed two or three people generous), and you get to keep the mason jar the ice cream comes in, which is more than fair for the price. Fantastic ice cream, very well presented. Super delicious. Really only thing I can nit pick would be the short flimsy spoons they have. Couldn't really eat it.
