The flavors are definitely different but good! Can’t go wrong with their chocolate! A bit on the pricey side but good for the experience of having local made ice cream! The inside is closed and you can only order through the front door. Staff is very nice and extremely helpful!

Quick service, despite having a single person working double duties of cashier and icecream chef. I got the "Ooey Gooey Cake" and my goodness was it delicious! Perfect ratio of cake to Gelato. Great flavor that wasn't overly sweet. I'll definitely plan to visit again before my trip to Norfolk ends👍

got the vanilla bean gealto in a regular size to share and it was too much for us after a meal but definitely really good and really sad i had to toss the rest. vanilla bean is my absolute favorite flavour so i really enjoyed it!! i saw one or two vegan options when i went, would love to see more as someone who's lactose intolerant!

Adorable gelato spot in the heart of Ghent. A locals spot that supports local artist. Gelato was delicious and packed with flavor. They sell single portions and also containers to go. Super friendly staff. Some seating inside and outside.

First time here and I loved it. I've never had gelato before and this was so cool to try; it was like a stretchier version of Italian ice. The flavors were refreshing! The employee was so patient and it looked like he was by himself in the entire store. Hopefully he wasn't but great service nonetheless!

Great location that's easy to get to with plenty of parking nearby. The taste was delicious and loved the different choices. Staff was pleasant but basically was just there. A little smile goes a long way. They had the actual restaurant closed off to customers with a counter at the door. One person taking orders and then going back inside to fill it. Seems like there could have been a more efficient process

Visited here on vacation and ordered two waffle cones! The cones were crispy and flavorful and the gelato was very tasty! If I had to fix anything, it would be that I wish my brown butter cookie dough had more chunks of dough, but the flavor was deep and unique!

I went to strawberry fields for dessert after dining close by since I have heard great things from friends. I got 4 smalls with lids to take home and try out. The flavors I got were: Banana Pudding, Birthday Cake, Stracciatella, and Orange Chocolate Chip. All of them were amazing! The flavors weren't too overpowering which lets the custard base shine well and overall, all of the flavors shine in their own way! I only got to properly taste the consistency of one of the flavors, which was very smooth and velvety, however, even after being in my freezer for a few days, the other flavors still had a great consistency. Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping by

French Chocolate is so good. Love the outdoor counter. Makes it nearly impossible not to stop once you've had a taste. Friendly, helpful folks, too. Seating area outside beside the shop. Located in walking shopping area on Colley Ave. Perfect dessert stop after dinner.

My husband and I went here for the first time after our Valentine’s Day dinner, and we were very impressed with both the selection and the quality! We got one of the Banana Oreo (vegan) and one of the Chocolate Peanut Butter (vegan). Both were delicious and we will definitely be coming back!

This was my first visit. I had a small bowl of the eggnog gelato. It was delicious. It wasn't too rich but is was flavorful. The small was more than enough for me even though I was scraping the bowl at the end. They allow you to sample two flavors. At the time of my visit on Saturday. December 18th, all orders were placed at a stand in the doorway of the building. I'm not sure how often they change flavors, but it would be worth another visit. They also sell pints of gelato. They had some different flavors in the pints that were not available for sampling. I'm not sure if that was the case with all of the pints or just a few.

I really enjoy this place! Their gelato is absolutely delicious! I'm never disappointed in what I get. Only 2 (minor) complaints: #1 it's quite pricy, a small = 4.50, large = 6,00, & a pint to take home is more than $10. And #2 the flavors change daily, so there's been a few times I've gone and not really been interested in any of the flavors. They do have chocolate and vanilla flavors daily, but that's not what I'm looking for when I go out for ice cream / gelato.

Update: was our 2nd visit. Omg the gelato was pure raspberry. Keep doing it, this place is a treasure! 1st visit: Amazing surprise - the Gelato experience you want to through, very smooth texture, vibrant tastes (all 6 we tried were amazing), no ice crystals. Really really good gelato 🍧, highly recommended. Thank you! Btw the Google Maps has incorrect pin for this place. The entrance is from the Colley Ave right in front of the italian restaurant.

Bought my employees gelato and smoothies. Service was fast and friendly, due to COVID you doing the bell and the transaction is outside. My smoothie was delicious and my special request was easily accommodated. Highly recommend.

This place has THE BEST gelato! And sooo many delicious and often creative flavors, along with some staples. Everything is homemade. Prices are fair. The only draw back for me is they change flavors daily, so sometimes when we go, they don't have any flavors I really want, or they don't have the flavor I know I want.

Wonderful little gelato shop in Ghent. Always a good combination of classic flavours along with a variety of seasonal or unique offerings. They always have vegan offerings as well. Service is wonderful. I tried their garden herb gelato. Yummy.

The gelato was excellent and the staff was absolutely fun to talk to. I had the Eggnog and Gingerbread gelato. Prices aren't bad at all. Rest assured, the only way you can blow a fortune here is if you're buying for the whole neighborhood or just really gunning for that sugar coma or Type-1 Diabetes. Consider me a regular customer!

I've been to this place several times, and each time I have a pleasant experience. I'm a big fan of the acai bowls. They are very filling and definitely a meal replacement. They cycle through different flavors of gelato daily, so be sure to come in often to see what they have new.

This place in amazing! It's a tiny little shop, but it adds to the cuteness. I love their aesthetic, which they manage to pull off despite the small storefront. The gelato is DELISH and the associates are always eager and willing to offer samples. It's in my fav part of Ghent and I'll be back again and again.

Great service and really cool flavors, from your usual chocolate/vanilla to some more out there stuff (lemon basil, fruity pebbles, raspberry mascarpone...banana pudding is my current favorite, but it changes every month I think). After hearing how incredible Strawberry Fields gelato is I put them on a try list that spanned over several years. What in the world took me so long. The location is heart of Ghent on Colley. Street parking is free and two hours permitted. The walk up clear of debris. A table for two greets you. Just around the corner is a kind of booth that seats up to 10. The shop is tiny, I think there was only one table. The case with around a dozen flavors of gelato displayed nicely in a refrigerated glass case. A young lady helped my son and wife get samples. After they weighed in i too got a sample of the Oatmeal Cream Pie. It was love a first taste. The scratch gelato shop makes everything in-house in their small on site kitchen. Do you know it's fresh everyday. The flavors change day to day. My son got chocolate and my wife strawberry cheesecake. We all agreed it was some of the best gelato we've ever tasted. There are two cup sizes and you can also get a cone. They also have a selection of smoothies and juice. Checkout efficient and friendly. You will need to fork out a few bucks for the quality concoction. Two large and one small rang up at north of $17 with tax. This sweet gem in Norfolk deserves the accolades and awards it has received over the years.

I don't shop for gelato for myself at this place but I've heard that they are amazing. They are pretty expensive which is why I don't shop there because I'm too poor for that but I deliver for doordash and Postmates and I go there all the time. They have a pretty good selection of gelatos and they do a lot there for the place to be so tiny. I will actually try their gelato when I have a little extra money on me but the staff is very friendly and we'll answer any question you have.

My husband and I came here on 4th of July after I searched Yelp for a local ice cream shop that was open late. I had the Wildberry Lavender sorbet and it was sooooo creamy! My husband had Monarch Tracks that was chocolate with nuts. We both had vanilla and you can never go wrong with vanilla. I sampled the ginger sorbet that they had and it was really good, I just wasn't in the mood for ginger but it was nice to see they have a lot of different flavors for everyone.
