Pros: My wife liked her twist cone and my daughter settled for frozen custard cotton candy, which she enjoyed. Cons: Poor/slow service, dirty/unkept (ice cream cone and napkins under the ice cream machine), vanilla custard wasn't available, four people working with one window open and it still took several minutes to attain our items (explains the line). Conclusion: Maybe just a bad night/moment for the Rita's team.

Wow! Such a delicious treat! I highly recommend the Gelati which is shaved ice topped with custard. I had the Wild Black Cherry with a Twist (chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream) on top and it was AMAZING! Great service and an excellent atmosphere make this place one of my new favorites! With over a hundred different combinations, there's something for almost every taste here at Rita's!

the Italian ice and custard was as good as it always was but the service was slow, we got there about 15 minutes before closing and the line was so long and the employees did not seem to be in a rush to help the customers. With three employees on we waited in line for about 30+ minutes and after we had ordered had to wait another 20 minutes before we got our chocolate custard in a cone. We stood by the window and watched as employees stood and texted on their phone and showed each other different things instead of making any customers ice/custard. once it had been a substantial amount of time one of the employees opened the window and asked if we were waiting on something which we responded yes, only a chocolate custard in a cone. This could have been a fluke night as they did still have a line past closing time and could have been training but we felt very forgotten.

Uniquely Delicious! The ice is extremely smooth, no clumps! The custard is creamy and like no other ice cream. Such a treat! My family and I love going to Rita's every chance we get!

There's just something magical about getting a perfectly made gelati on a hot summers night. There's usually a line, but don't let it deter you they work pretty fast! Step out of what your normal comfort food is, and try one of their specials. I had to come back for more of the Shark Gelati. Even though Swedish fish ice will always have my heart.

Have gone twice this season, both times received terrible service. The first visit the workers were on their phones and being rude to every customer, she also got our order wrong even after we said it 3 times. Tonight's visit was worse. Not busy at all, 4 workers working and didn't receive service as they were too busy carrying on with their own conversations. After finally receiving service, first they had to come back after processing my order and ask what size, flavor and type I wanted (cone or cup) and second they got our order wrong again. Won't be going back this season.

Used to have rainy day specials and used to post flavors online daily for their fb followers. This was the first summer in a while that they didn't have a great selection of custard. Bring back the mint and have key lime and margarita ice more often.

One of my favorite custard spots! The staff were super friendly and they made our stuff pretty quick. We had no issues and it was mostly clean. The tables were a bit sticky, but it was mostly fine. Apart from that, I would totally recommend Rita's for frozen custard.

The best combo ever: italian ice and custard!! I recomend twist with strawberry, or vanilla with cotton candy. Watermelon chip is also amazing. People are always nice too.

Great little place that I used to enjoy as a kid and now able to bring my own kids to. This is my third time to this location and the quality is always good. They have a food truck that comes around to different apartments and locations in the Virginia Beach in Norfolk area. Not opened year round but when they are opened I recommend stopping by to enjoy some Italian ice and custard!

Excellent. This is the only Rita's that I know of that carries the hand packed custard in amazing flavors. I LOVE the cake batter and the cheesecake Oreo custards. They also always have a variety of cream ices and regular ice.

Slightly pricey for what at the end of the day seemed like a slushy. I tried the ocean spray flavor and it was decent, maybe just a little too sweet. The coloring in it was crazy and it turned my BMs green for 2 days.

I absolutely love Rita’s. The girl was sweet and they have Pup cups so my puppy can enjoy a small dish of custard with peanut butter and milk bones on top. Also, the Italian ice (water ice where I’m from) is amazing on these hot summer days.

Rita’s has expanded their menu. They have hard packed ice creme and concretes. We always get the kid size because it’s so filling but it’s a nice treat on a hot day. Employees are always very nice

Had the Mango Ice! This thing was so good! I wish my stomach could fit more! Lol If you haven't been yet, definitely a must go! If you have and keep going there is an app to get rewards for free ice. Love this place!

The deserts are delicious. My wife and I usually get a custard sundae and gelaties for the kids. Usually sets me back about $30.00 but it's worth it, as long as they don't get too frugal with the quantity. (Depending on the server, there have been times I've felt jipped)

Every time I come here the staff is quick and friendly which is really nice I also love the area the only criticism that I could give which isn’t their fault at all but kind of disappointing is every time I go they seem to never have the orange custard but fortunately the other amazing options on the menu like their milkshakes make up for it

Convenient location for me if I was in dire need of frozen custard. I'm not a fan of their "Italian ice." It just doesn't seem like Italian ice. If anything it's a slushee or a snow cone. The flavoring they use in them is really artificial tasting. The custard is decent though. Lots of flavor options.

The Italian ice and frozen custard is always wonderful however I had a coupon for being a RecycleBank member for $1 off $5 and was told I can't use it even though the map shown on the coupon clearly shows they are participating in the promotion. It's only a dollar, but I think it's a shame when the staff doesn't know how to handle it and even the nice young lady told me she checked with her manager.

Great flavors truly but a slow moving line. There were clearly 4 or more employees but 2 alone took orders with a growing crowd piling outside. Idle employees distracted those working with chatter and seemed more focused on laughter than work.

Went here to get authentic custard ice cream like we had back in the days. What I got was tasteless frozen whip cream. There’s nothing Custard about their ice cream. Go to Doumars instead unless u want some ice cream to put on cake. Nothing special
