Hand dipped cones & more! Great local creamery with fantastic ice cream flavors and the best milk. Try the skim, you'll love it. And the Colonial Custard is not to be missed when in season, it's eggnog for those with a nutmeg aversion. The best I've come across.

Today was my first time here but I'd heard good things from friends. I had been wanting to come try the ice cream for like 2 weeks. I sampled the butter pecan and coconut. It was a whole experience. I ended up getting 2 quarts (coconut and butter pecan) and 2 pints (coffee with heath and chocolate). All of the flavors were AMAZING. The butter pecan has candied pecans in it! I can't wait to dig into coconut later as another treat to myself. I'm happy I was able to sample before buying because being pregnant makes it harder to choose. I think every choice here is the right one.

OMG, the best ice cream, especially, the coconut flavor and the strawberry flavour. They are made of base ice cream blind with real fruits, so the ice cream we can taste the fresh fruit in it. The best part is I heard they use fresh organic milk and we could really taste that.

The best ice cream I have ever had! It is fresh and made naturally. It is not artificial like the usual ice cream you would find in a grocery store. I tried the coconut ice cream and there are real bits of coconut. The strawberry ice cream was also made with real strawberries.

Small place but lines can get long! It strikes me as ice cream like you could get back in the day, meaning it's really thick, dense, creamy. Order accordingly; one scoop was plenty for me

This place has some of the BEST ice cream in hampton roads! It's homemade from their dairy and there's always a bunch of flavors to choose from. The waffle cones are delicious and almost always fresh. The prices are good too!

Oh this is the best little ice cream shop in VA Beach! They have the most kind and fun staff working there too, they make going to the ice cream shop so much more fun!! They make their homemade ice cream everyday, so flavors change often but you can taste test. Those fabulous staff members, are so understanding and nonjudgmental when you ask to taste every flavor! They have very creative amazing flavors and the traditional ones too. They also do mix ins, and have a variety of yummy things to pick from. They have cheese and milk available for sale too. If you are looking for a sweet fabulous treat you must try Gillies! It's right across Dam Neck from Khols & Best Buy. Stop in after your shopping trip, you will not be disappointed!

The ice cream was good, but heaven forbid you take a minute to decide upon what you want to order... the two young ladies waiting on customers were impatient and unfriendly. Atmosphere is so important in today's competitive environment. There are lots of places with good ice cream, friendly service is a must if you want people to come back.

I got one scoop cone and it was well worth the price. Two scoops is quite a challenge. You get alot of ice cream for each scoop. They have a nice parlor to seat in, and you can get milk also.

This is a cute local spot for ice cream and Oberweis products. I've been here several times and have always enjoyed my ice cream. The flavors are typically very simple, but the ice cream is so creamy and delicious that it doesn't really leave me wanting anything over the top. Portions are also good for the price when comparing to other shops. I got the honey and chcolate peanut butter today, and they were both delicious!

Probably the tastiest and best textured ice cream I have ever tried. The coconut flavor ice cream is a must try if you are a fan of the flavor and the cookies and cream is the best tasting cookies and cream I have ever had. They definitely give you your money's worth!

Very small. Lactose intolerance makes me a bit biased, but they literally only sell milk stuffs. Decent ice cream shop from the look of it, and the people I went with said it was good. They also sell eggs, cheese, and soda for some reason.

This review is long overdue. Out of all the ice cream shops, both chains and local in different cities, that I have been to, Gilly's hands down has the best tasting ice cream ever. It stands out as tasting fresh and using the best quality milk and cream. I don't even like butter pecan in general, but when I go to Gilly's, i choose it over my usual favorites like chocolate or mint. It doesn't make any sense... My husband doesn't crave sweets like most humans, but he wants Gilly's every so often. One day we went on his request and they had already closed... and he didn't even want to go anywhere else for icecream as an alternative! We just went back home! Also, after introducing my mother to Gilly's, about 8 months later she told me the doctor's news that she was pre-diabetic, and confessed that she had been stopping at Gilly's by herself almost every day on her way home from work since I had brought her there! 😂 They are that good. You're killing us, Gilly's. Please don't ever close.

Cookies and Cream, quite tasty and just the right density. Friendly staff. Just make sure you look at the menu board before ordering (flavors in display case aren’t labeled). They even carry Oberweis products! What?! Definitely going back!

I like that this creamery has flavor staples, rotating new flavors (pretty much weekly), generous scoops, and reasonable prices. What bothers me is their customer service. I discovered this place about a month ago and visit nearly once a week. One day, I showed my military ID for their advertised military discount, received it, and walked out very satisfied. Two weeks later, I showed my ID again and the older gentleman working the counter declined to honor the discount because I was not active or retired (although his advertisement did not specify)...I felt really annoyed when his advertisement said that children wearing a sports uniform could receive a discount, yet not someone who served their country and was a veteran could not. I am looking for a new place to spend my money.

This place is truly an under-visited gem in the area. I don't indulge very often, but the homemade ice cream has been great every time and well-priced. As well, a Spring, Summer, or Fall visit here usually enables a walk through the Farmer's Market or the Park, right across the street. Always worth the visit here.

Hands down the best ice cream in Virginia Beach!!! Blows Bruster's, Cold Stone, DQ out of the water. You can tell this ice cream is hand made with love. Not only that but the price is amazing. Having 4 kids getting ice cream is expensive , here it's not too bad. The scoops are nice and big. Support local business and go here you won't regret it. I promise.

Delicious, natural, flavored balanced ice cream. I had the pistachio ice cream on sugar cone. One scoop, it was Huge! and the best ice cream I have had in long time. It felt good to know it was made with real milk from oberweis dayry, which they also sell there. This place is a hiden treasure in Virginia Beach.

On vacation with my sister. So hot and sunny that day. Gilly's was a no brainer. Delicious and so busy. Tiny but the amount of ice cream served was amazing and so yummy. We stumbled into what the locals all know. There was a farmers market going on at the same spot. So many great booths. What a great treat. Hope I get to do this again sometime soon. Onsite parking and handicap accessible. Go!!!!!

I was in “desperate need” of ice cream the morning I spent in VA Beach and I luckily stumbled upon Gilly’s as I was perusing the farmer’s market. Lots of great flavors and a cute little old-timey ice cream shop feel. Generous servings and for inexpensive prices! Also - loved the little “drip pan” they put on the sugar cone to help prevent ice cream from dripping down your entire arm while consuming your cone! My craving was satisfied and I left feeling happy.

Love this place. Can buy Oberweis products without having to deal with membership. People are very friendly and accommodating. Very clean and also have tables inside to enjoy your fresh delicious ice cream. Yummy relaxing place!

With 3 kids buying ice cream cones is a treat. For less than $8 three kids can get a huge scoop of real homemade ice cream. You can tell the difference in the texture and taste. They also do take home sizes, milkshakes, sundaes, and icecream cakes. They are located in a farmers market so you can sit and eat, or walk around and shop after buying. The ladies that work here and patient and friendly, especially with young children. *Summer teaser--sorbet is coming.

The place also sells various other dairy products to include butter, cream and milk (both white and chocolate). Customers have the option of getting white or chocolate milk added to there milkshakes.
