This place has gotten a lot better. I remember coming long time and the customer service nor the flavors were memorable but recently my family has went back time and time again. The customer service is much better and the flavors are top notch. I recommend the Mississippi Mud Pie in the nuts & chocolate cone.

There is not enough stars for Tanya & Matt's. This is the # 1 place to go for ice-cream. My husband and I go to Tanya &Matt's I would have to say 4 out of 7 day week. The customer service is absolutely great and I should know I've been in customer service for over 20 years. The only thing there missing is the peach flavor.

Great experience! Ice cream was delicious and the two ladies behind the counter were wonderful. My husband and I each got sundaes but we easily could have just shared one. Traditional flavors were available as well as some I've never seen before. I got the Vietnamese coffee and it was great! My daughter especially loved hers! We don't come to the area often but we will definitely stop in again th next time we are driving through.

We've always enjoyed this place, as it's nice to get freshly made ice cream on a Sunday, or any other day, after grilling. We were nervous to see it for sale last year, but think now the right owners took over going ahead. They have updated the interior, and I love the new menu structure, as it is more streamlined and easier to read. The ice cream is still delicious!

Their cart wasn't available but they were extremely responsive to my catering order and delivered straight to our venue. They even offered a freezer for rent! AND sent a thank you email! The whole shop is sprinkled with adorable decor (pun intended) and every flavor I’ve tried (all of them) has been fantastic. Customer service was very off today. I asked for two pup cups (which I thought I was paying for). The lady working told me my dogs had to be present in order to receive them. I informed her that I was there the day before and it was no an issue at all. She then got her manager who whoever was in charge and told me "sorry they really messed that up yesterday for you". When in fact they actually messed it up today for me. I am referring to something that cost less than 25 cents. Good customer service would had provided the pup cups and told me that for future. Again, I thought I was paying for this so I was thrown off. This is how supporting local gets me to go somewhere else.

Great ice cream! It is creamy and packed with flavor. The only thing that disappointed me was the price that Land and Sea Market charged for a small pint. 8.99? I think I was over charged. Other than that I will purchase the ice cream again but from the actual shop rather than Land and Sea Market.

This place is so great! They have the biggest selection of flavors and toppings around here, and the quality of ice cream is great! If you're debating going here vs going to a baskin robins or some other chain, this place should win every time. I love going here with my family; I always get the red velvet. I found this one time when I was just feeling like ice cream and randomly saw it, and I'm so gald I did! I'm really happy at how they handled the pandemic guidelines, they set up a window with their menu on it, and you can just order from the sidewalk! I would totally recommend this place to anyone who likes good quality ice cream!

Awesome Shop! They have so many flavor choices, and even a couple vegan flavors as well. I love their homemade ice cream, the prices are not relatively cheap (a little more than typical) but it's solely because the quality of the ingredients they put into the ice cream. The staff is super friendly, and overall the experience is really great. You can sample any of the flavors to find what one you like. My boyfriend wishes they would bring back the apple pie flavor! They do change out the flavors so if you get hooked on one and come back and it's gone it may be upsetting. But overall a really nice place to treat yourself!

This is a Carrollwood/Northdale staple and a must-try. We usually do family ice cream night once a week and this is our go-to. Ever since the new owners and new staff took over this is one of the best ice-cream shops in the area. Definitely go and try their seasonal stuff as well as the Birthday Cake/Cookie Monster.

Update 12/23/2021: Went back with the family, everyone's ice cream was excellent - the coffee too! Service was also excellent - they kept the line moving well! Usually very good, free samples. Wish I'd sampled the coffee ice cream as it was full of ice crystals and no creaminess or flavor, but all the other flavors we had were tasty and creamy. AC was out but probably a temporary issue and there was plenty of room on a nice evening to sit outside.

This is the 2nd time we come since the new owners took over. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the girls immediately told us we could taste whatever ice cream we wanted. The shop now has a contemporary feel unlike before the dark, dirty, gloomy feel it had. The ice cream taste fresh and creamy and not old and stale like before. We love it, if it weren't for the new owners we would have never came back. We look forward to returning more and more. Great job girls.

The service here was great given I came in during a busy weekday. I was acknowledged as soon as I walked in and immediately helped. The ice cream here is delicious. They have a great selection of flavors. I decided on having a banana split with the original flavors of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. I will definitely come back soon to try some of the other flavors they have.

This was our second time visiting here. The first time we weren’t impressed but they have my daughter’s favorite Smurf ice cream, so we came back just for that. I don’t know what changed, but the staff was nicer and they had a bunch of new great flavors. My daughter got of course, Smurf, and I got the banana swirl which was amazing! It was my son in law’s birthday so he got a combo of s’mores and banana swirl. We were all very happy with our choices and even took some to go home for later. It’s pretty pricey, so not somewhere we will go regularly, but we will definitely be back.

place is Carrollwood stalwart that's been in area many years. they make their own ice cream. they have a very good selection that my kids love and they also have a very good sugar free vanilla and strawberry that tastes like real thing to me. sisters that run place are super friendly and accommodating. choose this place over coldstone or the other corporate stores.

New Owners = New and Improved Tanya and Matt's!!!! We hadn't been here in months, despite being a 20 year customer due to the business being on the decline and the feeling of pure neglect. Well that was under Matt's ownership. When we heard that there were new owners we were curious to see if there was a difference and immediately upon walking in today we could see and feel the difference! Wow, what a fabulous job these new owners have done with reviving this ice cream shop. It just feels so welcoming with the new paint and definitely cleaner! The ice cream is still the same recipes so you can still get the great flavors that you've come to love from the old Tanya and Matt's just in a better environment. The ice cream today was not melting and was very yummy. And there are even printed labels to let you know the ice cream flavors. I absolutely love the new menu on the wall!! So modern and clean. Even the register is modern and touch screen. Realizing that this is still a work in progress as the business needed lots of work from being neglected over the years but if you're like me and stopped going, please rethink your decision and go back. You'll definitely be impressed! Now it was the care and love that it needed and this is clearly shown in just the hour I spent here today. Spoke to the new owners and they are excited about everything and has great plans for reviving this place and we are definitely excited about it. They are clearly focused on a great customer experience--I found out about the new ownership through a message from them on my old Yelp review (that I never received any feedback on previously). So I knew from that response that this was the time to give this place another chance. And we will definitely be back A LOT!! It's great when small family businesses are successful and are around from when you were growing up to even after your kids grow up. Now I'm hopeful that I can one day share the ice cream shop I went to while dating my now husband with my future grand kids.

This place is super nostalgic. I used to come here when I was little and had field trips from daycare now almost 20 years later, it’s still standing and amazing. They have lots of flavors and options to choose from, and they’re adjusting really well with the pandemic going on- there’s outdoor seating with a fast service pick up window for you to pick up your treats.

I've lived all over the U.S. and have frequented Ice Cream shops for years. Tanya and Matts without a doubt has homemade ice cream as close to heaven as it gets! It is absolutely homemade in the shop, too. My son and I had the privilege to watch chocolate ice cream being made from beginning to end one lazy summer day when we stopped by the shop a few years ago. The people in the shop are always very nice, too.

You know what kind of people leave those, and those are the whiny baby people who complain because their lives are sad. Anyways this place is great! They have flavors that I cant get anywhere else. I love Tanya and matts don't get me wrong and I understand mint chip is very popular and goes quickly but there's almost never any available anymore. Service has been so-so lately and one girl working was quite rude which is unacceptable. Other than that I still recommend

I called Matt and Tanyas on Friday to order a cake for my Sons' 19th Birthday. The young lady that helped me answered all my questions and had the order set for Monday pick up. Fast forward to Sunday morning when we are on our way to Busch Gardens with my Son, that is when I realized that his Bday was Sunday and not Monday. I called the store and she said that she would do her best to have it ready by 6PM, To make a long story short, she had my Sons' Ice Cream Cake ready at 6PM and it was absolutely perfect. Matt and Tanyas is awesome in every way and I will always recommend them to everyone. Thanks for saving the day. You are wasting your money if you get a Birthday cake from anyplace else.
