I went twice while visiting. The first was around 10 PM on a Friday & it was super hot that day so the line was out the door. It definitely didn't move as quickly as I was hoping but I wanted to try it so I waited. I got the Texas Sheet Cake, which is a dairy-free option made with coconut milk & it was absolutely delicious. There wasn't too much coconut like some dairy-free ice creams, & it balanced well with the chocolate. I went with a large group & someone in my party got the flight. It came with 10 scoops which was honestly a great deal considering it would've been more if each person got their own cup. Highly recommend the flight option! The second time I went there wasn't a line & I got the Butter Cake & Strawberry Cream. The butter cake was super good and did compliment the strawberry, but the strawberry did have a tartness to it that I wasn't a huge fan of. When I saw cream in the title I thought it would be more sweet & creamy, not tart & slightly sour. Overall, I thought it was good, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price or the long wait lines.

This is splendid. Options given, I would have rated this place with hundreds of stars! Right adjacent to the university area, the place is busy on the weekend night. The line was outside, however, it moves fast. The place looks hip and casual, perfect for a date. I ordered three kinds of chocolate scoops, in a waffle bowl. The darkest chocolate, chocolate with cake ( dark chocolate with some chunks of chocolate cakes in it), both of them were terrific. Highly recommended, if you are in this area.

Pure deliciousness. I apologize for not reviewing sooner. If you want to taste amazing, out of the ordinary ice cream- this is the place. One of the best things about Jeni’s is the freshly made cones. A favorite all times of the year- brave the line and get some. It’s worth the wait and the price.

I love the flavors that I picked (boston cream pie, gooey butter, blueberry). They were light and flavorful. I also love the festive ambience upon going in and the staff are very knowledgeable too! They know the ingredients for each icecream flavor they offer .

We arrived at Jeni's just moments before they closed (we are from out of town) and the staff was SO kind and welcoming! Their ice cream choices are unique and fun and all the flavors we tried were delicious! I especially appreciated Gluten-free labels on many of the ice cream flavors. You can try any of their selections and staff is very patient, knowledgeable, and have great recommendations to try. Definitely going to go back and bring others to this gem! The ice cream was good and the waffle bowl was a nice difference. The shop was clean and well staffed. Think the pumpkin ice cream could have been more focused on pumpkin spice flavors, tasted a bit more general than I would have liked.

While visiting the St. Louis it was recommended by friends that I must visit Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. So as per advise I visited the place with my friend and family. They have very good variety of flavors. Taste was very good. Though they Mango flavor wasn't available which is my favorite but still we enjoyed a lot. Staff was very decent, respectful and helpful. Good value of money. Highly recommended.

Good tasting ice cream, not the best I ever tasted. I ordered the safe flavor of cookies and cream, and a more ambitious flavor of campfire chocolate. The latter flavor was interesting because it was made with liquid smoke, but the marshmallows churned within it was delightful. Two scoops in a waffle cone for $6.25 seems a little overpriced for what I got but it was a fun stop.

A bit on the pricey side, but hey they have many unique flavors that many other places don’t feature. The environment is nice and open with lots of lighting. Trying to expand my icecream horizons and I'm so glad I was able to try Jeni's. Everything from the service to the exterior was warm and comforting. There was no irritation from the staff when I had to ask for the multiple samples and was encouraged to try more to make sure I made the right decision. The Flight of Minis I feel was the best way to taste the different of flavors that Jenis has to offer. It was just the right amount and I was able to choose 3 different scoops which was great. I got the Rose sherbet, Rainbow sherbet and the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. All flavors melt in your mouth and the taste was so unique and fresh. If you are in the central west end, check out this adorable spot. Looking forward to returning soon.

This place is so fun! We stopped by on a recommendation from our server at 55 South in Franklin (You need to go there!) and are so glad we did! The flavor choices were not only numerous, but there was quite a variety! We loved it so much, we went two nights in a row. I love that they allowed us to sample as many flavors as we wanted before making a decision! We went to two different locations and enjoyed both of them. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area.

While fancy icecream is always a fun experience, Jeni's takes it to another level. The store and everything in it smells of the sweet crunchy and fresh waffle cone the gourmet ice cream is served in. The staff is very patient and kind when trying the abundance of flavors. The flavors are seasonal so you may not find your personal favorite but any flavor there is a show stopper. My favorite place for a special ice cream treat! Absolutely amazing... Slow melting, super flavorful, velvety on the tongue... Ice cream is some of the best I've ever eaten. It's not cheap but the scoops are a good size and the quality makes the price worth it! Gooey butter cake flavor is to die for, and they make their waffle cones fresh.

Hands down my favorite STL ice cream spot. Why you ask? The selections are stupendous...need I say more? OK, I'll say more. Service is usually patient & pleasant....however in service of this magnitude where you can literally sample whatever your little heart desires it really helps when the staffer can offer assistance with a smile. Jeni's is a must if you're in the central west end! They have an amazing selection of ice creams and sorbets, offering unique and delectable flavors. I got the Queen City Cayenne, a delightful chocolate ice cream that leaves a beautiful spice in the back of your throat, and the Juniper and Lemon Curd, which is a perfect blend of sweet and sour. The woman who helped us was friendly and funny. While I was eating, I asked one of the workers where the ice cream was made, but as it was one of her first shifts she told me she didn't know. However, not even a minute later one of the other workers came over to tell me! Really wonderful place.

I traveled from Maryland Heights to get the Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam ice cream as it says it was at store in the Central West End on Euclid. Nope! I ended up spending my time, mileage, and gas for ice cream flavors I wasn’t chasing down. I could have just left but after traveling 10 miles I felt compelled to purchase something! The kicker is I remembered after purchasing that I could have gotten those pints up the street at Straubs $3 cheaper per pint! Thank God I didn’t have to pay for parking… Hilarious if not painful!

This is a tough to rate place for me. You can tell the ice cream is made with high quality ingredients, the store is cute and clean, and the staff is very nice. But the flavors can be very intense though. I picked a trio where all three flavors were powerful. I would suggest picking a standard flavor like vanilla to cut the intensity of your other picks. We also weren't totally impressed with the waffle cones. I really hate giving a three star rating because I admire the creativity and bold flavors, they just were too strong for me. I would say you should check it out and make up your own mind.

Received a 6 sampler pack as a gift. I could not decide which one I liked the best, each one seemed to get better and better as I worked through them! I would recommend any of the flavors, the ice cream bases were all delicious and the mix-ins so unique and interesting. Combinations like goat cheese and cherry or rose and raspberry that you would’ve never thought to put together turn out to be amazing! I’ve already ordered more for gifts.

Local business that has a great selection of interesting ice creams (including vegan, dairy-free, and sorbet) with a super friendly staff. The second you walk in your mouth starts to water from the smells of the house-made waffle cones and sweet ice cream! Wish the place had some tables to sit in the area (no indoor seating during pandemic which is fine) but there's benches and low hanging walls nearby to hang around and enjoy the ice cream. They have a rotating selection of flavors. It's all really good and fresh, and I love that they have compostable spoons and dishes. The only downside is parking. If you go on a weekend you'll have a hard time finding a place to park. Weekdays aren't bad, this time I parked right in front. But it's worth your time to go. I usually prefer to support local over chains, but this is a good chain in terms of quality and awareness of issues.

Fast, genuine, consistent service and ice cream. Usually a line to the door, but well worth the short wait. Always amazing flavors, including unique limited edition gems. You can get cheaper ice cream elsewhere, but not anywhere near as good. The location is also very good. But be prepared to park a block or two away. The atmosphere is bright and loud. I've been coming here for about two years, and somehow I'm just now reviewing Jeni's...!

Recommend the ooey gooey butter cake. Heads up, the waffle cone is weirdly salty? Would not recommend that, but the ice cream itself is pretty good. Be aware, parking is tricky and plan for a line! But the icecream is worth waiting in line for.

Best ice cream I've ever head! And staff is very friendly! It is rather expensive, but the quality of ice cream is worth the price. The flavors are unique and sensational; I've never had a bad experience with trying different flavors and I've been to Jeni's dozens of times now. Be careful going on a Friday or Saturday evening during peak hours, the line can go out the door because it is so popular! But if you are with friends and have time to kill, the wait isn't usually too terrible during peak times!

So excited to get Jeni's away from home in Ohio. I could sample every single flavor, if they'd let me! Today I chose salted peanut butter with chocolate shavings & gooey butter cake. I really want to like this chain, honestly, but for the price it just isn't there in terms of selection/taste. I've visited the location in St. Loius and Nashville recently and both were pretty underwhelming. The ice cream was good, just not that good for a "premium homemade ice cream shop". Tried a few other ice cream shops and liked each of them better.

This is by far, the best place I've had ice cream at. The staff were very helpful when making choices and explaining the ingredient breakdown for each flavor. They have a broad range of flavors (including lactose free ice cream) and seasonal flavors as well. Their unlimited samples is also a big plus.

Jeni's is one of my two Favourite ice cream places in the United States, and I don't say this lightly (the other one is in North Carolina). The staff is wonderful, the scoops are adequate (although some may call them small), and there are always a host of gluten free and dairy free options. My favourites are the salty caramel, the brown butter almond, and this absolutely divine, GLUTEN FREE gooey butter cake flavour. Definitely go here if you are in STL.

This is the best ice cream I have ever had. LET ME TELL YOU, I DON’T EVEN LIKE ICE CREAM but this right here is amaaaaaaaaazing. Like you can just taste all the milk and all the butter. It taste like those cows was raised in a good family and loved. Get the waffle cone because that’s butter on butter. Trust me I’m a really picky eater.

The ice cream is really very good & there are a few non-dairy options, which is nice. They're nice about letting you sample a bunch. A scoop is $5, kinda high; they do allow a half scoop, though. You can get a flight of 3 half scoops for $6, a pretty sweet deal!

First, their menu changes, so if you can't find the flavor you're looking for, just come back in a couple weeks. Until then, try a new flavor you've never had before! Second, this is quality ice cream that's made with quality ingredients. Third, every flavor I've ever tried is super rich and punches you in the tastebuds! Fourth, if you're on a diet, you can feel good about the the small scoops or "half scoops" as they call them.

Their ice cream is all natural and does not contain any synthetic dyes! All of the ingredients are listed right on the ice cream case. Given the price, it's not the most worth it. $12 a pint, and I found the ice cream to be a bit mushy. I recommend Clementines in Demun, which is $10 per pint and has better flavors in my opinion

One of my favorite parts is to go and try the little samples of new flavors before ordering. And the staff is super helpful, ask them what their favorites are and you won't go wrong.

The ice cream is delicious, but I thought it was crazy that they only had three people working on a busy Saturday night. The line was out the door; we waited for a good 20 minutes, which I hear is typical at this location. One of the employees was mean to us when we tried to shift the line to allow more people to wait inside on a cold night, and made everyone go back outside. Not the best ice cream experience.

It was a hot day the day I visited, so this hit the spot. I had to try a few flavors since they have so many options. After trying a few I went with the STL gooey butter and another flavor (I can’t remember but it was good) double scoop of course, on a waffle cone. Delicious! There is no better ice cream. Original recipes and flavors (goat cheese and tart cherries) are the norm. I don't think you could find plain vanilla unless you special ordered it. Excellent field practices and sustainability plans make this a win for business and the environment. Here is how you know they are good: Georgia Peach and buttermilk biscuit was only available for a short month when Georgia peaches were tree-ripened and fresh. When strawberry season was over, strawberry ice cream came off the menu. Other chains have strawberry all year because they are giving you shelf-ripened, low flavor strawberries. If you have any trouble finding the place, follow the scent of fresh made waffles. They always have some on the griddle so your cone or bowl hasn't sat for more than a few minutes.

Adventurous flavors. We ordered sweat cream biscuits and peach jam as two scoops in a bowl that came with a waffle cone chip in it. The ice wasn't as sweet as we'd like and there really wasn't a peach flavor. I was surprised to taste actual biscuit pieces but it somehow worked as an ice cream. I sampled the pistachio one which brought this review up to 5. Fantastic.

I'm a big fan of Clementine's but a friend loves Jeni's. I was happy to try another delicious local ice creamery. The space is large, bright, and welcoming. The menu board is clear and easy to read. They also let u sample until you find what's just right for you. I liked the variety of flavors. But settled on Frosé and Wildberry lavender. The Rosé didn't overpower the fruity ) of the sorbet and ther lavender was a beautifully light backdrop to the ice cream. I enjoyed my waffle wedge also. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only area of opportunity/opinion: If you need non dairy options you have more options at Clementine's.

Meh. I'm pretty sensitive to overly sweet food and all the ice cream was so sugar overloaded that it was difficult to taste anything else. I sampled several flavors and went with the almond - which was pretty good, but I could only eat half due to the sweetness. If you're into that, it'll be a pretty good place for you. Otherwise great location, beautiful place and really great staff.

My first visit to Jeni's was last weekend, and I was unfortunately underwhelmed. The brambleberry crisp was good, and the sweet biscuits and peach jam was okay. It was primarily biscuit, not a lot of peach, and biscuit ice cream isn't fabulous as you can imagine. The waffle cones are salty. I had to break off the cone around my ice cream and throw it away bc it was really messing with the flavor of the ice cream. If I'm in the area, I'd try another flavor in a cake cone or a bowl, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip to this place.

While my visits here are usually pleasant, the one from yesterday was underwhelming. About five people were in line and employees moved around frantically as if they were overwhelmed. After serving the two groups before me, not one of the three employees acknowledged me until I mentioned they hadn’t served me, yet and were serving guests behind me. I even had to ask the young lady who was in training to get me a sample, as the other three employees were doing their own thing. No apologies for the poor customer service and left with a sour feeling. Luckily, the ice cream was great as usual.

This place is located in a beautiful location in the heart of Central West End. Just few steps away from classy restaurants. Perfect for a after dinner desert or quick snack. During peek hours parking in CWE can be difficult and expected. Parallel parking is a must. The inside of this ice cream shop is very clean, trendy, and has the ice cream parlor feel. The staff is clean cut, friendly, and very excited about ice cream. Quick suggestions from the staff were made. We were allowed to try many samples from stainless steal spoons. The ice cream is well proportioned and price is on par with the industry. This shop brightens up this neighborhood. I will be making this a regular spot for my sweet cravings.

UPDATED: After my previous review the owner reached out to me apologized and offered me vouchers to make up for my bad experience. When I went to redeem those vouchers I meet the store manager. She was kind and knew who I was. It was overall a much better experience. I still feel whoever is behind the counter the day you go in will dramatically determine if you have a good experience or not. OLD: The ice cream was AMAZING the staff was not. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is one of the gems that you will find located in the Central West End. This bright, cheerful ice cream shop has about 20-30 flavors. You won't find your standard chocolate and vanilla here, rather you will find flavors ranging from lavender wildberry, to sweet potato with torched marshmallow, and many more. On my first visit I got one of their most iconic flavors, brambleberry crisp. Now you might be asking yourself, what in the world is a brambleberry. Brambleberry is not actually a fruit, rather Jeni's makes a jam of blackberries and black currants which they call their brambleberry jam. This jam along with a toasted oat streusel is layered throughout creamy vanilla ice cream. The jam provides a perfect amount of tang from the blackberries, which compliment the sweet ice cream. The streusel give a an interesting cinnamon flavor that works really well with the rest of the ingredients. Now my second time at Jeni's I wasn't planning on ordering anything, but after my friend decided on the Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, and I had a small taste of it, I changed my mind. Imagine all the things that are wrong with pear, sometimes they aren't ripe enough, the skin is sub-par, they can be messy to eat. Now get rid of all those things because the sorbet takes the everything that is right with a pear, the delicious flavor, and packs that into creamy sorbet. Also, the sweet notes that the Riesling provide to the ice cream are just an added bonus. This has to be one of the best ice cream flavors I have ever had, and something that makes me want to return to Jeni's soon. If you are looking for an ice cream shop with some different flavors, and aren't worried about paying 5 dollars for two half scoops of ice cream, then Jeni's is as good as it gets. Make sure to taste the Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet and you won't be disappointed. Additionally, sample some other flavors and find the best flavor for you.
