Reviews of Nana’s Green Tea
Jackie S
The food was good. Both chicken katsu and tonkatsu were crispy. The tuna avocado came with a nice sauce. The miso soup was small but much needed in the cold weather. The dessert options were plentiful. The soft serve and the center of the roll had the most flavour, so eat the other desserts first to keep your palette fresh. Overall, everything was delicious and we all left with a full stomach.

The location in Waikiki (Oahu, Hawaii) shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic so we knew we HAD TO visit Nana's Green Tea in Seattle on our trip. It was as delicious as we remembered and we decided to try different things since the menu also offers more items. If you love matcha (green tea), hojicha (roasted green tea) and/or azuki (red bean) flavors then this is the place for you! There are a variety of cold and hot items to drink and eat. The prices are reasonable and it's a cute restaurant to go to for a date or to hangout with your family and friends.
Everything was yummy and satisfied our sweet tooth! The sweetest drink and bakery item was the Red Bean Strawberry Latte and Hojicha Muffin. The Hojicha Float with Mochi is my favorite drink and my husband loves all of the matcha drinks. The yuzu cheesecake had real pieces of sliced yuzu between the cheesecake part and the crust. The consistency and flavor is one of the best I've had! We love salmon, but the Salmon Sashimi Don (not pictured) wasn't the greatest. We do not recommend getting that. However, the Tonkatsu Curry (tastes like the usual) and Chicken Nanban (unique sauce with egg mayo on top and a side of potato salad) were good! The rice wasn't the best quality, but the food makes up for it. If you're wondering, we came here 3 days in a row. TOTEMO OISHIKATTA! =)

I’ve been there so many times because I worked in midtown 21 building in 2019. This was the first time I’ve been in store during covid. I still like it but the pork katsu sandwich was a disappointment - so dry u can’t eat without water. Regular menu was as usual great, dessert was great as expected.

Very good lunch menu, my salmon bowl came complete with miso soup and potato salad. But the stars of the show here are definitely the desserts. I had the best matcha rolled cake ever, and I still have dreams of how smooth it was while not being too sweet at the same time. Will eat again!

Yummy yummy!!! I am always quick to try a Japanese dessert place as their sweets are always a wee bit more delicate and less sugary - which is sometimes a nice contrast to American desserts being so sugary/sweet.
I tried two desserts, the vanilla and matcha soft serve twist and the matcha roll cake.
The soft serve was yummy! The matcha flavor was stronger and had more bitterness to it, but it was still sweet. The soft serve was smooth and had a good consistency to it.
The matcha roll cake was delightful. A wonderful texture and it was so light and fluffy. The cream on the inside was smooth and light.
The match flavor in both was definitely stronger than I’ve had in other matcha desserts so if you don’t like matcha, I’m not sure you’ll enjoy these. You can tell they are derived from a tea/plant.
All in all, these desserts were great!! I want to go back and try more. The store was also so cute and designed well.

Super nice dessert place! The mocha parfait was up to my expectations with good flavors. However, the black sesame parfait with warabimochi is the BEST! The sesame icecream is so unique in its flavor and the warabimochi is my all time favs with great texture and flavor! Definitely will visit again next time in Seattle!
Vicki
I really miss Japanese cafe desserts and Nana’s are pretty consistent across locations. @nanasgreenteaseattle tastes just about the same as what you would get in Japan. The little cakes in the bottom if the parfait were so good, and the warabimochi were also perfectly chewy. Yuzu cheesecake was about what I expected, but the tea (both matcha and hoji-cha) exceeded my expectations! I really need to come back soon and try more of their desserts!

On our way to show at the Paramount, saw there was no line so stopped in for dessert. Service is quick. Order at the counter and take your number so they can bring your goodies.
The parfait was delicious. I love black sesame anything. The black sesame ice cream wasn't overly sweet just delicious nuttiness. Mochi balls had good chew. The corn flakes add good crunch, balanced texture.
Would like to return for other goodies. Parking is the hindrance.

Been to Nana's a few times since friends usually get their parfaits (which I know they rave about), but unfortunately, I don't try because I'm lactose :P
My review is solely for their matcha green tea. I was served a plastic cup of matcha green tea which was supposed to be slightly sweetened, but didn't get much. It definitely tasted really watered down. I honestly didn't taste much matcha taste. Hoping it is a one-off experience.
Can't completely say the experience was bad since the parfaits are always a hit with my friends. Just be weary of their green tea!
Parking is really tough in this area, especially during peak hours.

Incredible quality teas -- matcha especially but the houjicha as well. I took one bite of the matcha soft serve and was struck at how rich and deep the flavor was. The black sesame parfait as well -- the sesame flavor is very punchy and concentrated! I'm definitely too full to try the cakes and cream puffs but I'll be back for those as well!
Jaren Lee
Other than the matcha ice-cream, black sesame ice cream is a must try! So fragrant!! Katsu curry is good too! Can't wait to come back and try other food!
EUGENE
Always a good time here, my go to is the Matcha Warabimochi Parfait. The texture of the mochi is phenomenal and complements the slightly bitter matcha green tea ice cream, sweet azuki bean paste, delicious milk soft serve in the middle with some corn flake crunch.
Food is also very delicious, got the chicken karaage salad and the new katsu sando (sandwich). Very authentic Japanese recipes all around!
Alex Nguyen
Been here a couple times but forgot to do a review. The best place to get matcha parfaits are here! Great quality of toppings and ice cream and I highly recommend sharing. The hot foods here are good too, definitely not too oily or greasy and definitely is filling. They have outdoor seating too.
Ariana Wright
Love getting desserts and parfaits from here! They aren’t too sweet and have the perfect amount of crunch, chew, and ice cream together. The lines can get long, and the inside gets full so you’ll have to take it to go or eat outside.
Either way, my friend always asks for extra mochi because it’s so perfect, and the matcha drinks are delicious. Definitely a must try!
Shanelle S
Tea-focused drinks and dessert spot. Came here on a Sunday around 4:30 and there was a short line to order but it moved quickly. You order at the counter first and then can seat yourself (indoor seating). You can also order online to save yourself time and pick up your order. There are benches outside if you want to eat/drink outdoors.
Credit cards are accepted. Bathrooms are available on the right hand side of the cafe. It’s a good spot for a casual date or a family outing. I got the Kyoto tea, which came in a small little pot. The flavor was clean and light, but they don’t give you a lot of tea. For the lattes, you have the option of hot or iced, and can also choose to get whipped cream. The parfaits are cute and you can get one for yourself, but will probably have some leftover. They have savory food as well, but this seems to function more as a dessert spot.
Emily Tam
The Nanban chicken was juicy and crispy. Super delicious. The rice with eta plate was meh, but I’m here for the chicken. The katsu sandwich was really good on flavor, bread not fantastic, but everything else about the sandwich was delicious.
Would order both dishes again.
The matcha cream latte was also great.
J C
The drinks and rice are average, I will give 3 stars and I did have some of their cake and tiramisu and it’s also normal too.
I give them 4 star because the Puff are soooooo good! The best ever in this restaurant.
Yoki Wang
I really like their soft serve and matcha deserts. Have been a regular customer and usually no wait for orders. The place has decent vibe and outdoor seating for people with pets. Only reason I am taking one star off is because of the premium pricing for its desert and ice cream. I paid $15 for a soft serve + a matcha roll piece.
Bao Xiong
One of the best dessert spots I’ve been to in Seattle. The customer service was excellent and the order came out quick. Would definitely come back. The only tricky thing about coming here was finding parking since it is literally downtown.
Arin Sarkissian
A must-go for matcha lovers!
We had some Matcha soft serve and a Matcha parfait… I was addicted to this stuff! The soft serve might just be the best I’ve ever had. At first I was going to say that it was a bit too expensive… but given the artesanal quality of even these desserts, I think the price was justified. Already wishing I was back…
sindhu sabbineni
Tried this for the first time which sits at the center of downtown Seattle and ordered Matcha Tiramisu and Matcha Mochi Parfait. They lived up to my expectations. It felt different at first but tasted delicious as we go along. Price is slightly above average. I took the take out but when I went in I saw the lovely seating area which makes it perfect place for a quick snack.
Rachel T
Gluten-free friendly! Was very pleased to go here and be able to get two parfaits modified so there was no gluten ingredients. We had the Matcha Soda, the Hojicha Warabimochi Parfait, Black Sesame Warabimochi Parfait. All were very good. The hojicha parfait is perfect if you prefer dessert that is not overly sweet. The sesame parfait was almost too sweet, but still not overly saccharine.
Great friendly service, even though it was very busy when we arrived. You bus your own table.
Kristen Kohashi
Nana's Green Tea is a really nice Japanese dessert cafe right in the middle between SLU, downtown, and Capitol Hill. I've tried their desserts via delivery app before, and even though they were still great, I have to say -- it's so worth it to go in person!
This is the perfect spot for a small group or date (or in my case, solo "treat myself" date). Not only are the drinks and desserts delicious and unique (at least for the downtown Seattle area), but there's a surprising amount of seating (in various layouts and levels of privacy), the music is loud enough for good vibes but soft enough for conversations, and the decorations are pretty and friendly with lots of natural wood, hanging plants, and a little indoor gazebo.
If you love Matcha, Hojicha (roasted green tea, which has an almost chocolatey flavor), or Red Bean, this is the place for you! They've got those flavors in iced drinks, hot drinks, lattes, parfaits, soft serve ice cream, etc etc etc... plus baked pastries. So good!
Besides drinks and desserts, they also have a few savory rice plate and salad options (such as Tonkatsu or Chicken Karaage Curry).
I LOVE Hojicha, so I ordered the Hojicha Mochi Parfait, which included hojicha ice cream, red bean, whipped cream, soft mochi balls, corn flakes, vanilla ice cream, and coffee jelly. I also got a Hojicha Swiss Roll, which was delicate and not too sweet.
I highly recommend Nana's Green Tea to anyone, unless you're extremely lactose intolerant... and even if so, you could pop a bunch of Lactaid and hope for the best (like me). It's worth the risk!
ty
Food was great and these are some really nice looking parfaits!
I learned that I enjoy roasted matcha over plain matcha desserts. Roll cake was really solid as well.
Renee Lau
Black sesame warabimochi parfait was good to try, but would not order again. Came with small scoop of black sesame ice cream, red bean paste, and a whole lot of filler vanilla soft serve. The black sesame soft serve itself was flavorful though.
Michael Kyle
I got a scoop of matcha and a scoop of black sesame ice cream. The scoops are really big compared to most ice cream shops. I’d never tried black sesame ice cream before, but it was pretty good. The real highlight is the matcha ice cream. I’ll be back to try their other options.
Christie Morales
Stopped here for lunch while in town for a business trip back in October and loved everything I had. I had the tonkatsu and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The hojicha roll cake was outstanding. Still thinking about it 2 months later wishing there was a location in Florida!
Vicky Leung
Delicious authentic Japanese matcha dessert place! We went to Japan and had our taste buds forever ruined. This is straight from Japan! If you're a matcha and Japanese dessert lover, you won't be disappointed!
I did not try their savory food but they also look legit and delicious.
This is so far their only US location!
Marcel Ramos
I ordered the Matcha Mochi Parfait on a Friday afternoon. The place had a bit of a wait but I ordered online and saved some time. The parfait was delicious, it reminded me of a halo halo but with matcha. It comes with red bean paste, corn flakes, and mochi balls. It was delicious!
Amber Lam
My new favorite Japanese dessert place in Seattle:) It gets busy but definitely worth the wait. We ordered a Matcha Warabimochi Parfait and it was excellent. It has perfect amount of crunch and sweetness. We loved it so much and came back for a hojicha Parafait
Emily Wu
The matcha cookie was surprisingly super duper good. I also got a hojicha latte and matcha vanilla soft serve, those were both very good as well. I did take out but there seemed to be a cute spacious indoor area too. Everything on their menu really did have matcha
Stella Oh
Ah, so this is the place where all of the Mandarin-speaking Chinese tourists go! I guess they go crazy for matcha cafes. I have to say, the matcha soft serve - the only dessert I had - was incredible! It hit the spot and was exactly what I needed between lunch and dinner.
anne
We were so excited to see Nana’s Green Tea. We’ve tried their matcha parfait before in Japan years ago and always missed it! The matcha soft serve and the matcha latte is good, but they were both a little too thick and heavy for me. I love matcha but at this point it just tasted like super concentrated matcha. Additionally, I got the hojicha latte and it was just plain out bad. I’ve had hojicha tea before and I love it and know what it tastes like, and I’ve had hojicha latte before in many different cafes… but the hojicha latte here was just not it. First of all, just by looking at how dark it looks… it looks like a mud slime and the consistency was just too thick and grainy. It didn’t taste earthy or rich like it should have… but instead it was just thick and bitter. I think I’ll stick to the Nana’s in Japan…or just stick with their parfaits.
Gant
We regularly visited Nana's Green tea everytime we're in Tokyo. It's good to know there is one in the Seattle. Matcha latte was quite good and not too sweet. The rice dishes were delicious and cooked perfectly as well.
Geoffrey Hill
I loved the atmosphere and creativity of the menu items at Nana’s. The staff was super sweet and everything on the menu looked fun. I ordered the matcha soft serve, mochi, and red bean in a waffle cone. No complaints here on this. I’m growing out of matcha lately, but if you’re a fan, this spot is excellent. There’s plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.
*edit. Double check the prices before ordering. A matcha parfait was $12. I think they missed the mark with the prices. Way overpriced.
Ming Zeng
The match frappe is smooth and rich of matcha flavor. It is not too sweet. As a matcha lover, I would say it is one of the best matcha drinks I had
Xenobrane Studios
The soft serve is fantastic. The flavor of the matcha is significant without being overly sweet. The parfait was also excellent, a pleasant balance of creamy and crunchy textures. The staff is warm and welcoming and the prices are reasonable. Parking might be a slight challenge, but we've so far found something close by.
Sophie Wang
BLACK SESAME SOFT SERVE! I have to open with that. The flavors of each ice cream is so concentrated, I return again and again for it. Some stores lessen strong flavors, but at Nana’s, it’s celebrated. I didn’t bother with the parfaits and the tonkotsu curry was thin and not so delicious. But the hojicha and black sesame soft serves are forever winners.. plus, their desserts like the matcha tiramisu are great for a slightly sweet craving. The seating options are great for small or large groups, making it a nice cafe to relax at and recharge.
Susan Ding
Everything green tea, matcha and yummy. They also have different dishes of rice like katsu don and tonktsu curry to pair with delicious drinks. Clean inside and outside. Unique interior decorations. Quick and friendly staff.
H Chan
Still the best! Love that they are so much more than just matcha soft serve. Love coming here for Katsu and pastries. Tried the Katsu Sando and it was fantastic!
Lynda Nguyen
A pleasant cafe in the busy SLU area, this place does matcha right! We got the hojicha parfait, matcha sort serve, hojicha and matcha red bean cake rolls and left very satisfied. The treats weren’t too sweet and you can taste the quality in the matcha flavor. Go just before dinner time to beat the rush
Bhavya Chhabra
An awesome cafe that has matcha parfaits, teas, and rolls. A chill vibe, great food, and friendly staff welcome you in this slightly cramped, modern teahouse.
Lingchao Mao
Very tasty parfait!! Also great place to casual light lunch
damien dumayas
Lots of combinations for matcha and black sesame. This is a high 4 rating. Feels like they give less and don’t decorate the items when compared to dining in.
Phil M
I got one of the parfait (more like a Sunday) and a Hojicha float. I was pleasantly surprised by the parfait because it had a layer of frosted flakes which was kinda funny to try and get through. The cream underneath was pretty sweet and the drizzle really gave a nice roasted flavor to the whole experience.
The float was a bit odd because it had ice so I'm fighting with the scoop of ice cream on top and the ice cubes trying to get all the liquid inside. Overall it was a great little dessert stop and the flavors complimented each other. The staff was really nice as well.
Also note: you have to bus the table yourself so hopefully you don't make too much of a mess enjoying these treats.
Angelica Brewer
It was an amazing experience to try the matcha and black sesame parfaits. The match flavor was so good that next time I look forward to a match soft serve. But the parfait was a unique dessert experience. Each layer is like trying a new food (if you haven't had something like this before). The host at the counter gave us a ton of information about the flavors and menu items.
Hannah Bazz
The treats are great, really aesthetically pleasing, and the other food looks really good but we didn’t try it. Giving it three stars because of the terrible layout. One entry/exit causes crowding at the door. There is a bunch of extra unnecessary interior design things that make it crowded and not accessible. Random wooden house inside, large cheap plasticy/metal criss cross visual separators. All weird. Also, default tip amount is 25% but you bus your own tables and there are signs around saying to be brief at your table, tables are sticky. Also, all the togo stuff is plastic (spoons, containers). It is 2022. Be sustainable. Charging $7 for a latte, plus 25% tip and you have plastic spoons in togo area. Also, outside seating is only for togo, forcing folks to be wasteful to sit outside (i get it is because if the glassware).
Caitlin Corbett
Well this place is lovely! I've heard about it for years but only just finally made it over. It was so hard to pick something. Being a huge matcha fan I wanted to try everything. I went with the matcha float with mochi and a matcha cream puff. Both were quite outstanding. I shall definitely be back.
Anna Z
My favorite thing to order here is a Matcha Vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone add Mochi! Every time I am in Seattle, I always make my way here.
Choi Ryan
Great dessert, I didn’t expect the katsu sandwich to be this juicy 🥰🥰. Gave me the wrong order but eventually provided me the right drink later for free after talking to the server .
Sarah Alexander
Really good Katsu Curry, Tonkatsu Sandwich and Sweet options. The Matcha Soft Serve and parfaits are all amazing. Caution: the portion sizes are HUGE! Check @AWorldOnMyPlate Instagram for Seattle based food content.
Alisa Khliestkova
Matcha cream puff was heavenly, loved their tea assortment as well. Really expensive though, but worth the treat
Andrew Knight
We tried this place for the first time and loved it. The matcha drink we ordered is so good. I can’t wait to try more things! 🍵
Robyn Laing
Not only are the parfaits and desserts good (and not too sweet, which is rare in the US), but also the meals are just fantastic.
Stacy Check
I had the mochi and red bean green tea ice cream and it was delicious. Since green tea is their specialty, they definitely don't skimp on that flavor. Everything on the menu looks wonderful. If only I had time to try it all!
Annie
Nanban chicken is consistently good. It's the variety of flavors and textures that always makes this one a need to order. Chicken soboro don was a bit one dimension in flavor and texture which is the reason I'm giving the place 4 stars. If they added more green mustard pickles or some type of tart element it'd help. The rice was also dry. Seasonal Sakura roll cake was yummy but not the typical fluffy roll cake texture you'd expect. Husband loved the matcha latte with oatmilk. It's nice that they have soy and oatmilk available to substitute for some of their drinks now.
Edwin Lk
We lovet it. Try the parfait selection. We enjoyed our time in nana green tea.
Jennifer Nicole
unbelievable selection of matcha items! if you find matcha alone bitter, try mixing it with something else.
Jeremiah Wibowo
Good green tea place. From cold to hot. Don’t expect a big amount of food portion. Because this is a coffee shop..
Nicole Stanford
Dessert, delicious. Workers, kind. Environment, gorgeous. I crave their parfaits and love to stop by when I can. 🥰
Their meals have been a little hit or miss for me, but their desserts are what you come here for - and they're all incredible.
Cynthia M
Got their matcha mochi parfait and it was spectacular! Everything about it was perfect.
Jenny Chuang
The place is a bit price for the items ordered. And they do have a bit too much rice and not enough sauce. But is a very convenient location around the area.
Their katsu is super yummy and curry reminds me of the Japanese style curries.
Their matcha soft serve contains a large amount of matcha. You can taste the bitterness and the matcha in it, unlike many other places. The place is filled when came on a Tuesday night.
There isn’t much parking around the place; recommend walking! Across from resident inn.
Sindu
I found this place through a simple google search of matcha . I love everything matcha and the menu looked too good.
They have savory food, desserts and drinks which are mainly matcha based. I usually get the matcha soft serve, matcha soda, matcha tiramisu or matcha roll cake. Everything was amazing!!
Highly recommend this place if you like matcha. They don’t have any designated parking, so you would have to depend on street parking.
The staff is great, the place is cute as well. A lot of indoor seating available.
Jenny Su
3.5 stars.
Recommend Matcha Burnt Basque Cheesecake.
The hojicha latte was a bit diluted, not creamy enough. The hojicha ice cream on the other hand was very rich in flavor. The cake part of the roll cake is a bit too dense and dry. The matcha burnt basque cheese cake was my favorite; strong enough matcha flavor but not overpower the cheesecake, perfect balance and creaminess. I don’t like the parfait that much, the corn flakes in parfaits are always a mystery to me, why are they even there? There was way too much vanilla soft serve in ratio to everything else, not enough matcha syrup to make the whole thing matcha flavored. I had higher expectation for this place, but I find it just okay, perhaps some other items will be better.
Conner Laursen
Loved the karaage salad and miso soup!
Iced matcha latte with mochi was also delicious.
Sean Yin
Very delicious! We came here to satisfy our sweet tooth and to journey through the foods that Seattle had to offer. We got 2 parfaits and a chicken meal I forget which exactly. I gotta say, this was the best parfait I've ever had. The sweetness was out this world. Highly recommend!
Kanae Malbrough
I wanted to come here for a loooong time even before we moved out of Seattle. Finally I came back to visit my family and got to come today and guess what? It was so worth it. There were so many things that I wanted to try on menu I had a hard time choosing which one. It was so delish!

"Japanese Sweets, Desserts, and Comfort Food in Downtown Seattle..."
😊 Pros:
✅ Yummy Japanese-style desserts and sweets
✅ Matcha green tea theme
✅ Good variety and flavors
✅ Bright and modern decor, casual atmosphere.
😔 Cons:
❌ A little pricey
❌ Can get crowded (depending on hours) and seating might be limited.
😉 Bottom-line:
Was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the desserts and food. Experienced something similar while in Tokyo in 2018 and Nana's recipes were pretty close to what I had. Ordered the chicken katsu curry and it tasted fresh and made-to-order, with the chicken being moist and not frozen. The desserts were satisfying and the matcha was definitely the standout. Some of the items seemed a bit overpriced though, such as $5 for soft-serve (I would pay around $3.50 instead). Overall, a good place to try Japanese desserts and food, albeit on a fancier (and pricier side).
🤔 Would I come back?
Yes, to try out the other non-matcha desserts to vary it up a little.
Charles Gunnell
Everything we had tasted good! Wanted to come back a second day to try other items!
Samantha Elizabeth
On our way to Capitol Hill for dinner, my boyfriend and I stopped by Nana's Green Tea. It was a bit strange that if you wanted to dine in, you had go sit inside to enjoy the food or drink. If you wanted take out, you could only enjoy it outdoors. It was nice that they delivered our food and drinks to our table. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of his Iced Americano. I enjoyed my Iced Matcha Soft Serve Latte, which consisted of a Matcha Latte topped with a Matcha-Vanilla Soft Serve Swirl. It would have been cool to be able to add toppings such as mochi and red beans. I hope to try their roll cakes one day!
David Zhang
The hojicha was delicious and not too sweet
The parfait was top notch and has good toppings
Justin Lau
The matcha is authentic and the flavor is amazing. The combination of jellies, ice creams, corn flakes, and matcha flavored desserts in the parfaits are dreamy. The matcha flavor was perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet, one side never overpowering the other. It tasted refreshing, smooth and rich. Priced at $9, I felt it was worth every penny. On the other side, Hojicha (roasted green tea).... That is all you need to know. If in doubt, ask for a small sample first. I just like matcha in general. Hojicha wasn't the right pick for me.
If you're looking for the elegant flavour of matcha over traditional ice cream, this place is a #1 hit for me!
Sally G
Tried the parfait and tiramisu and they were both so good! Great spot to get your matcha fix. Really liked that the tiramisu wasn’t overly sweet.
Mike Wu
A great place for matcha desserts. I haven't tried their full meals, but I would highly recommend this place for their desserts. The parfaits taste delicious and healthy. Room inside is a bit limited but you should most likely be able to find seating. The space itself is very trendy and aesthetic - perfect for your IG!
Ivory A
Pretty good Japanese green tea desserts. Feature in parfaits and ice cream in Japanese green tea and sesame flavors. They also serve Macha and Hojicha beverages. Savory food are also served but not a lot of choices. Overall, the place is good for dessert if the line is not too long and when parking is not too hard to find.
ティリー(ティリー)
Can’t believe there’re so many people waiting in the line when we arrived in the afternoon. Most people come here just for the matcha desserts, but I also order the curry.
• karaage curry with miso soup. Nothing special with the miso soup. Karaage good taste and fried very well. Typical Japanese curry which I like it a lot but this one gets salty when you almost finish the plate.
• parfait. If you love sweet a lot, go with the matcha one. Sesame is pretty good actually. Don’t image you can finish one parfait by yourself. Sharing!
• Tiramisu is better than I thought! Not too sweet and they put it quiet a lot matcha powder on top!
By the way, parking here is terrible. Very limited street parking or expensive parking lot.
Jiana Salas
I absolutely love this place! The crowd favorite is the matcha nama parfait with mochi, but don’t forget to get food as well. This is the second time in a row I ordered the same parfait with the chicken karaage curry and rice. I’ll eventually want to try their black sesame parfait once I finally stop ordering my usual.
Garrett N.
Lots of matcha madness going on here — matcha coffee drinks, matcha teas, matcha parfaits, matcha roll cakes, matcha chocolate cake, matcha cookies, matcha tiramisu, matcha pound cakes, matcha, matcha, matcha! 🍵🍵🍵 Our group tried the karaage curry chicken curry, the chicken katsu curry, and a coupe of the parfaits. All dishes were very tasty but a little on the pricier side with smaller portions on the lunch dishes.
The only sort of surprising issue was the long wait times for a table and the sort of unorganized long lines that formed out the door due to the wait time for a table and confusion of dine in and take out orders. We waited around 30 minutes in line and then for a table. You order at the counter first, then they give you a number sign to put on your table for your food and drink orders to be brought to the table. The other issue was we waited quite a while for our dessert orders to finally make it to us since the staff is trying to watch when you might be ready for your dessert to bring it over. This probably also causes the wait times to be longer, and we noticed the lines had gotten considerably worse as we left the restaurant. Also, we ended up missing one of the parfaits we ordered and had to let the server know to make another.
Overall, the food was pretty good, but the service and timeliness could use some improvements.
Taylor Nerland
Nice dining space, chicken katsu with curry was incredible. Their ice cream is really good and it's a unique take on ice cream with tea jelly, mochi, and tea flavored ice cream. Would come back here again.

Key: Really good matcha desserts, with my favorite being the matcha tiramisu and the matcha parfait. I've also had the matcha soft serve before, which is amazing since the taste and texture are perfectly balanced without compromising one or the other; it's smooth, creamy, and strong in the matcha accent. Those are must-trys but make sure you eat them fresh!
Parking: There is no on-site parking so either park close and walk,or order take-out and have someone else pick it up while you're in the car. That's the only downside about wanting to go to Nana's often, as it's a bit inconvenient!
Overall: Highly recommended dessert place for all things matcha, since they're known and famous for their matcha desserts, so if you order strawberry parfait (like my stubborn friend below) or curry, it will disappoint!
Edward Amartey-Tagoe
I nice place to have lunch alone or in a group. You can choose between eat-in and take-out. Their ice-cream is amazing. There tends to be a queue in the afternoons close to 12:30pm because of the Amazon employees who frequent the place for lunch because of pro lite to the Oscar office.
Prices are somewhat on the high and you may wanna factor tip as well. They are open 11am to 9pm. Parking may be hard to find, go with ride-share or public transport if possible.

Really cute place. A+ aesthetics. The desserts were really good and the portion was reasonable for the price!! I had the tiramisu, and I really enjoyed the multiple textures and the fact that it wasn't too sweet. One suggestion would be to stuff a marshmallow or something in the ice cream cones so ice cream wouldn't melt and drip out the cone. Otherwise, it's a great place for good desserts and conversations.
John Chen
Tried most dessert things here and all are delicious. The non dessert stuff is ok. Beware of eating this late at night - we can never sleep after
Rishita Roy
I've been here once and I can't stop thinking about the parfait I had!! I loved everything about my dessert stop at Nana's. The parfait itself was great and the shop's light and airy aesthetic is a great refuge from the Seattle Gray (It's almost like they knew how instagrammable everything would be 😉). I went on a weekday after work so there wasn't a rush, and there were lots of available seats. Highly recommend for Japanese styled desserts with typical Japanese flavors!
Definitely will be coming back.
Lei X
My favorite Japanese matcha dessert place. I would like to come here again and again. Really envy who work around here. Definitely recommend their signature parfait and the matcha ice cream. I’ve brought my friends here, everyone enjoy this place very much !
Craig Cheng
Great Japanese eatery specializing in fantastic teas and parfait. While the line was very long, the quality of the teas and parfait was superb. Have not tried the cooked foods, but the parfait was the best.
Xi Lu
I love matcha and their matcha offerings are just fantastic. The parfaits were very good, not too sweet so you can actually taste the matcha. The red beans, mochi, and crispy cereal were very well made.
Jaewook J
Situated in downtown Seattle, we visited this place day before the official opening, and had their chicken nanban (chicken karaage with rice and salad) and the matcha mochi parfait. Nanban was seasoned well, karaage was a bit salty, but was covered well by eating with the rice and the salad, so definitely eat them together. The parfait was to die for, very fun experience scooping out the layers of ice cream, matcha mochis, cereal, red beans all together for the perfect spoonful.
Definitely pricey, but the whole experience and the quality of the food and desserts justify every penny spent. Recommend walking and taking the public transportation to get here if you are not working in downtown or live nearby, many options available and there is hardly any parking at this part of downtown.
Shirley Santiago
A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality of food you get. If you love katsu, you need to try their chicken katsu curry - my go-to for lunch. Chicken karaage curry is also good. The parfaits you've probably seen all over Instagram are just as delicious as they are pretty - just make sure you find someone to share it with since you get a lot of it. If you want to try one of the matcha lattes, I recommend the brown sugar.

TLDR: this place does matcha right! Not overly sweet! Great place for a quick bite or for dessert! Grab printed menu by register for pictures of food.
Hot dayum! This place is poppin'! Serves the infamous matcha flavored items and small meals!
Very brightly lit--almost like walking into a Macy's during a sales event! Food paparazzi are sure to like these conditions! The dining tables are rather small so watch out and don't swat your parfait off with your elbow or hand by accident! If you shout "bring me another!" after your glass has shattered I unfortunately don't think they'd give you one (unless you are Thor, then you'd definitely get at least two).
Seating can be hard to come by. Fair warning.
Parking is unfortunately street side or by garage for you automobile folk (pedestrians have all the fun, don't they?).
The menu is large and in charge! I suggest you grab a printed menu next to the register--it has pictures of almost all the food. Very helpful!
Service: order and pay at the front, you will be handed a number on a stand, seat yourself. Water is available to the far right in a dispense behind the wooden house structure in the dining area. Your table will be bused.
Matcha Mochi Parfait: the matcha ice cream is just perfect! Very smooth and creamy and has lots of matcha flavor that isn't overwhelmed by sugar. The red bean is sweet and has a satisfying creamy/chunky texture--I wish there was more than just a small scoop. The mochi balls are pretty flavorless by themselves but still wonderfully soft and chewy--this is quality mochi and not the kind that is too hard to chew/swallow or the kind that crumbles into gross bits in your mouth. I'm talking almost chewy like gum but still melts away. The green tea jelly is literally matcha flavored and not sweet at all and adds some nice flavor to the vanilla ice cream.
Salmon Sashimi Don: comes with miso soup and egg salad. This meal is very light by itself so I really consider it more like a snack than a meal. The little pitcher is filled with soy sauce and ginger to pour over your Sashimi Don--pour a little at a time, don't Leroy Jenkins it in. Miso Soup is a bit in the salty side but it makes up for the lightly flavored Salmon Sashimi Don. Egg salad is very fresh tasting and the bits of veggies inside offer a satisfying crispy crunch! I'm a fan!

Best best best. Best matcha puff I’ve ever had. Not too sweet and you can still taste the subtle bitterness of matcha.
Steven Gennaoui
I visited Nana's as it opened on a Sunday morning. There was a line out the door but it moved quickly and my friend and I were able to get a seat easily enough. I got hoji-cha, chicken katsu curry, and a matcha chocolate cake. The food was delicious and there was enough tea in the teapot for two cups. The chicken curry was enough to fill me on it's own but getting the dessert was a great finish to the meal. While there was a bit of confusion on the timing of my friend's dessert, it was quickly brought out after asking about it.
chantelle tiya
this place is so good! i drive from north of seattle just to get their black sesame parfait! everything i’ve tried there is amazing. the chicken katsu sandwich is the crunchiest, juiciest katsu i’ve ever had. i’m definitely coming here again when i’m in the area
anna bragg
Rather cold and nostalgic. It does taste like a curry you would get from a highschool in Japan (like mine)
But it was cold and the hojicha did not blend well (it seemed like there was too much) for my taste.
But give it a try!
M. P
Reminds me of when I was in Japan! Light, yummy food and the desserts are worth the wait. Legit green tea ice cream with the best soft serve possible. Parking can be difficult as it is street only but it's worth the trip.
Daisy Gi
It was a long wait to get in, but totally worth it. 10/10
I ordered the Yuzu cheese cake (had chunks of the fruit in there. It was so good.)
Hojicha roll (the best of the 3)
Matcha roll (pretty basic nothing special, super fluffy and good.)
The matcha warabimochi was really good!
The inside was really nice and well lit, but it was hard to find seats.
Go here if you don't mind waiting for a while, 20 min + you won't regret it.

First- this location is on a relatively quiet, shady street, especially in comparison to the surrounding area, which is nice. The shop itself is trendy and beautiful. Service is shockingly quick, while the food looks like something straight out of a commercial and tastes just as good as it appears. The menu has plenty of options, and there's lots of delightful little details throughout the whole experience (e.g. flatware, presentation) that I personally appreciated. The only downside I experienced was forgetting that, despite how delicious everything looked, it's still a sweet shop! I got too excited and ordered a sweet meal with a sugary tea, and while it was quite tasty, I couldn't finish it. 😅 don't do that, and go when it's not too crowded (it's a popular place, and rightfully so), and you should have a lovely time 😊😁
Teresa C.
Came here twice for desserts since my mother-in-law really likes this place. First time I got her the matcha roll cake, the muffin and the pumpkin and matcha daifuku and all were really tasty and well made. The second time we got the sesame parfait and that was good, too. And you can totally share the parfait since it's pretty filling. The place is very casual and chill. High recommend!
FuzzyBlueJay (Jay)
Large variety of green tea macha dessert. The ice cream is amazing. I got myself the latte with mochi! Street parking is available but can be hard to access on some days. On weekends the amazon parking is free a short walk from it. There are also meals of you are hungry like sashimi don and chicken karagge. They are decent. Environment is very nice with optional outdoor seatings for a nice cool experience.
Anthony Dellavecchia
The parfait is excellent 👌 great flavors and textures, plus it's not extremely sweet. One of my go-to spots for drinks/dessert. …
Ews
The green tea matcha parfait is so good! It comes with a lot of goodies.. I definitely recommend
Wayne Chang
What a lucky find! First tried them in Tokyo and recognized the store name while scrolling through maps. Rich tea flavors in everything we ordered; matcha roll cake, hojicha roll cake, hot uji Cha, matcha parfait and soft serve.
Brian Lin
Great place for a quick Japanese meal. Would recommend the nanban chicken. They also offer good matcha drinks.
Karen Gonzalez
Is the type of food that everything look amazing that you don't even know what to try.
The sizes are enough but I would recommend sharing so you try different things.
The desserts are really good and they use high quality matcha so the taste is nice and they serve it with other sweet stuff. I have tried the soft serve ice cream and the matcha tiramisu.
They also serve food now, it looks good but I didn't get anything.
Jason Masters
From Tokyo to Seattle! Love this cafe!
Update: Had to go back again to fulfill my desire for their matcha ice cream latte! Probably my most favorite item (matcha soft served latte W/ Chocolate crunch) Also, here’s the photo of what I ordered and here’s a photo of their menu!
Melanie Tam
I wish we had gotten a dessert instead of a drink. I had tried Nana's Green Tea in Honolulu before and I liked it. So when I found out there was one in Seattle near our hotel, I definitely wanted to go. I didn't know what to order so I just ordered the same thing I had last time - an iced hojicha float. You place your order at the counter, they give you a number, you look for a table, and they bring it to you. It was only after I sat down that I realized how many more options they had than just drinks (the menu in Honolulu was limited and was more like a quick to-go place). Here, they had some nice-looking ice cream desserts, and even had food. It's more like a cafe. Don't get me wrong - my drink was good but I just wish I knew about the other options they had. I guess there's always next time!
Wanyu Jhuang
Matcha red bean latte with Mochi was great but overall it’s pricey.
Ma Ana Theresa Santos
If you are into green tea desserts. This is the place to go when you want one and also craving for something sweet.
Marie K.
This is a popular cafe in Japan - I'm so excited that a branch has opened up in Seattle! If you like strong matcha flavor, I highly recommend this place.
I had the matcha latte with brown sugar syrup. My friend had a red bean latte, which is sweeter than the matcha (and has actual beans in the drink).
何順恩
Anything matcha taste wonderful here. The desserts are not overly sweet and has a rich matcha flavor. The only down side is the meal/food that are not matcha desserts served here. The rice does not taste fresh and runs on the dry side. But if you’re only looking for good matcha dessert, this place is wonderful!
J C
Everything is great here except the taste. Parfait did not taste as good as it could be.
Rei Schultz
I got a matcha soft serve latte and a tuna avocado don. The drink was good but dude. 11 small pieces of tuna on a Don-buri....that's so little. and yes, I did count. I did get full but mostly because of a lot of rice. Pretty much 2/3 of the bowl was rice. Felt a bit ripped off. I think I'll only get a drink or pastries.
Maddie Casey
My absolute favorite lunch. I always order the Chicken Katsu Curry (pictured below) and it’s always killer, lots of food and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend getting a matcha soda to go with it- the carbonation and almost citrus-y sweetness really pairs well with how heavy (in the best way possible) the curry can be. Also a great place to meet a friend in the afternoon and grab a parfait! The black sesame one is killer! I go here probably every other week and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
stan yu
The black sesame mochi parfait was so refreshing! Combining all the ingredients in one spoonful from the top to the bottom of the cup really is delicious. Also had a small bowl of black sesame ice cream. That creamy and had a pleasant black sesame flavor
Kate Block
Really cool space and so many things to try! Honestly overwhelmed when I walked in with the options. The drink I got maybe had a little too much going on for me but was delicious nonetheless. Will try something more simple next time. The matcha cookie was bomb!
Thuan Phung
Definitely one of the best dessert places in the area. The parfaits are great for sharing and parking might be tough. Though they stop taking orders at 8pm, their really closing time is closer to 9pm
Radhika Thampi
Good options for drinks & snacks and great ambience to hang out. There is indoor and outdoor space to sit. Matcha chocolate frappe is pretty good.
Mi Le
I really green-tea ice-cream but there are just plenty places in Seattle to eat green-tea ice-cream, so when nana green-tea is opening, I really want to go.
Now, I can visit Nana Green-tea and try green-tea vanilla soft cream, it’s very delicious! Yummy!
I really like it!
Houji Latte is very dark if people who like sweet drinks cannot drink it!
I will come back soon!
Annabelle
I’m a regular customer, I love their parfait (tried all the flavors), matcha tiramisu, and the matcha soft serve. However I want to point out that they have a very aggressive tipping system. This cafe is self-busing, but the lowest tipping option is 18%, with the default set to 22% when you pay, I would usually select 18% since that’s the lowest but thinking about it if I were to decide by myself I wouldn’t tip over 10% at a self-busing restaurant.
Isaiah Grose
On a day when it hits 100 degrees in Seattle, this is the place to be! We had the Black Sesame Warabimochi parfait and the Hojicha float. Both were delicious, I love that this place has such great unique flavor combos!
Best consumed quickly before melting 😁
Buggy
Delicious matcha desserts! There is an assorted ice creams, fraps and cakes. There is also yummy black sesame ice creams too. There is also seasonal flavors such as sakura. Entrees are great too, only issue is limited choices. The main here is definitely the desserts! The ice cream is a must have!
Julia Chiu
An excellent dessert and snack establishment! Ive heard about this place for a long while and didnt get to visit till now. Their parfait is as amazing as it looks and their pastries looked incredible. Cute interior. Their matcha drinks do run a bit on the mellow side and makes me crave a bit more sweetness. But it's easily balanced out their variety of pastries :) !
David Koon
Went here twice back-to-back days when I stayed in downtown. My go-to is green tea latte with vanilla soft serve - a perfect balance.
Kyle Fuhrmann
The warm comfort of a Hojicha tea, the rich decadence of some soft-serve matcha, and the convenience of a takeaway matcha latte made for an amazing first visit to Nana's Green Tea! Looking forward to trying more delicious items from their menu.
Deejay C
I think its overhyped. An hour wait for dessert is too much.
The parfait was the only good thing that was decent enough for me.
I like green but I'd prefer it a bit sweeter. Thsts just me.
It's Instagrammable tho.
Bowei (Segu)
Came with a group of five. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and quickly prepared a table for us. The food was delicious and had wonderful presentation. The chicken nanban was especially delightful.

A infamous Japanese matcha shop opened up in the smack middle of Downtown Seattle, and I decided to partake at this place at two different times.
My first trip, for a quick snack, I wanted something that stood out, the matcha Americano. With my coffee background, I was under in the impression it was going to be some sort of military latte, but it was actually just matcha and water, like how an Americano is made (coffee and water). My main issue with this was the matcha was too weak, and that the ice diluted too much to the point that no matcha flavor was left near the tail end of my drink.
My second trip, it was a lunch event and decided to get a salad (since I'm more inclined to eat more veggies) and decided to get a set combo, which mean for an additional $3.80, I decided to get a matcha latte. The salad wasn't too bad, the dressing tasted very familiar to a signature Kewpie taste, but the matcha latte. Another disappointing drink. It was overly sweet to the point I had to drink a sip of water to dilute the flavor a bit.
Judging from my other party members, the desserts are pretty good. Maybe just go for sweets and skip the drinks?
David Han
This place was definitely hyped when it first opened. It has died down a bit since but still expect to wait. I got the matcha warabi-mochi parfait and a matcha tiramisu. First impression of the parfait was how big it was! Most pictures don't do them justice and there were many people that order multiple. I did not expect this but there were corn flakes in the parfait which added a crunchy texture to the sweet and cold ice cream and mochi. The tiramisu was just okay, of course you should come here wanting to try their specialty items and not the stuff in the little fridge.
Stuti Misra
Had their nanban chicken, and matcha brown sugar latte. I'm not a fan of fried chicken and I still loved their nanban chicken. The chicken was seasoned well, and the potato & egg salads were good compliments. The miso soup was perfect for a cold January night.
The matcha latte was excellent and exactly what I expected, with a nice little touch on top. I swiped a bite of my friend's matcha tiramisu and that seemed pretty good too.
A must visit for matcha fans! My only complaint is neither the matcha latte nor the miso soup were really as warm as they should be.
J Lam
Wonderful spacious and bright cafe. They serve a lot of matcha and hojicha variety drinks (hot and cold), parfaits, and ice cream. In addition they have meals you can order too if you're looking for something more filling!
Angela Chin
Really excellent green tea desserts. The cold brew hojicha is one of my favorite refreshing drinks. Pretty great selection of savory foods, too. The chicken karaage salad is one of my go tos.
Skyler Hunt
Great service and black sesame ice cream. Despite the price, cheap, fishy matcha was used in the frappes. We didn't finish them.
benoit collette
Sweet sweet spot , the match emporium !
Pranav Jain
Fantastic matcha everything at this place. Ample outdoor seating to eat/drink there. This is one true matcha heaven!
Ma Rosé
As far as the taste goes, I would rate 5 stars. However, as for the environment, when I walked into the space, it is so dirty. Trash and dirty plates are overwhelming. No staffs seemed to care enough to clean out trash bins or dirty dish trays. With such a high expectation, I feel disappointed.
Genevieve Wilson
The menu is essentially many variations of green tea (lots of matcha) in the form of lattes and matcha icecream. The shop itself is very cute with a cozy atmosphere and the staff are very nice.
I ordered the Matcha Float which had a scoop of matcha icecream and three little mochi balls. Definitely recommend!!
Aaron Soto
Long waits. Not many seating available. Staff tries but place is so popular that lines build up really quick. Seating layout needs improvement to accomodate more people.
Frank Soriano
The drinks and sweets are delicious. Also the staff were so friendly. Cant recommend enough! 10/10
Fengbo
Really delicious dessert and rich matcha flavor. Love it! But the services need improvement and speed up.
Chelsea Josette Dy
Quite comparable to the quality of the Cafe’s in Japan! Rich and deep matcha flavors that balances the sweetness of the ice cream and red bean while the mochi and captain crunch adds to a little bit of texture. I feel like even each mochi is well crafted as it had both a chewy and melt in your mouth element. The service was very fast and the staff was super friendly! Everyone there were smiling all the time. 10/10 would recommend.
Jiajun Peng
I had lunch in this restaurant a lot of times. The chicken karaage curry is pretty delicious. And you should try every seasonal limited. You won’t be disappointed.
J L
5 stars ⭐️ for the food and quality. Their matcha is amazing. I especially like the Parfait; they have several flavors like Matcha, Hojicha... but since I’m a Matcha-lover, I just stick with it 😂 The Salmon Ikura Don and Katsu Don are so yummy... I’m craving for it right now!! Overall, good price, great food, nice store and friendly staffs.
Anthony Greco
Great section of Japanese treats hot and cold.
Ben S
A lovely cafe. The staff was polite even when the venue was very busy. I came to try hojicha for the first time. Not for me, but I'm glad for the experience.
Alexandre Blondin
Matcha tiramisu was good. Fried chicken was also pretty good. The place was full of fruit flies though, which is really annoying when you try to enjoy an icecream and bugs land on it.
route246
Great parfaits and ambiance. Interior design is interesting and feels at home enough to stick around well after the dessert is finished.
Nicole Caldwell
Yum!!! Everything here I tried was amazing. It's pricey and yet sooooo good. I suggest the green tea and a matcha parfait!
Julie Cheng
I’ve been to their branches in Japan, Taiwan, and Seattle. I’m pretty impressed by how consistent they are. They taste as good as I remembered!
I waited for 30 mins on a weekend afternoon though. I’d suggest that you visit on a weekday if you don’t want to wait for that long!
Stephen Justus
My wife and I went on opening day around 11am. We were both born and raised in Japan so we were excited to try out Nana's.
I ordered the chicken katsu curry, side order of potato salad and a hot matcha latte.
The curry was decent. The katsu was probably made from chicken thigh but I think breast would have been better for a katsu. The rice was a weird texture, kind of mushy and under cooked. The meal came with a side of miso soup which was very disappointing. It tasted like hot water with miso essence. Needed more dashi and more miso.
The potato salad tasted good but it was too watery.
The matcha latte was good. I really liked that it wasn't sweet.
My wife ordered the chicken nanban and a soft serve matcha latte.
The chicken nanban tasted decent and had a great crunch to it. The "tartar sauce" that is usually served with nanban was more like an egg salad than a tartar sauce.
The service was also not the best but it was opening day so not a big deal.
Leo Taylor
Good food and one of the few places to get Matcha Desserts.
Tabitha Yi
We had to wait in line an extremely long time (1h?) Only to be told there isn't enough seating at the moment. Their food was okay. I got a matcha latte and tiramisu. The tiramisu was light and not too sweet but lacked in matcha flavour.
Ruby Y
Food options are simple but well presented. Amazing Matcha desserts, would definitely revisit but they do get very crowded on the weekends
Yolanda Zhou
Everything we tried was really delicious. The black sesame parfait was a highlight.
JP
This place is crazy busy but it's just so good for what it is compared to what else is available around this town. The chicken katsu curry is good but the egg salad on that
Monitrice Lashé
Oh my! The soft serve matcha was unmatched, so creamy and fresh tasting. The shop itself is very Instagram photo-op worthy and the staff super kind and helpful. I will definitely come back when I visit Seattle again! Also it's right down the street from Pike Market, a very chic and scenic walk just past the station.
Max Soi
Very nice service despite being extremely busy. Food was pretty good. Parfaits are incredible and as good as the ones in Hong Kong and Hawaii。
Jane Mathias
Matcha lovers look no further - Nana's is here to satisfy all your matcha cravings. Stopped by on a weekday evening and ordered the Hojicha Mochi Parfait, Matcha Mochi Parfait, Matcha Tiramisu and Tonkatsu sandwich. Loved all the items we ordered. The parfaits are amazing. I personally liked the Hojicha Mochi Parfait a tab more than the Matcha mochi parfait but the matcha parfait is delicious as well. The matcha tiramisu was mildly sweet and was delicious. The sandwich was nice and juicy. They have a huge indoor seating space. Staff is very friendly and gave us recommendations on what to order since it was my first time here. They do have a loyalty program so make sure you sign up for that when you go here. Highly recommend visiting Nana's Green Tea. I will be there again soon.
Aleigha Mazeh
My bf and I visited while on our trip to Seattle and we were blown away by the delicious parfait and matcha cake!! We were so impressed with not only the food, but the interior is so nicely decorated and the employees are so friendly. We were bummed we couldn’t make it back before leaving but we can’t wait to come back just for this place!
Generous Yeh
Focusing on the parfait here. I've heard good things about the food so maybe one day I'll try those options. Dessert is very solid from my experiences, though maybe not the drinks which are whatever.
I enjoy the scoop of matcha ice cream on top as it's a nice change from the soft serve (don't get me wrong, soft serve is amazing). Red bean is good and compliments the matcha well. Mochi balls are underwhelming, seem to be there for the chewiness but other than that, a bit boring. Warabimochi isn't anything spectacular either so either parfait option is fine as the main content is everything else.
You have to dig into it a bit before being able to mix properly without overflow which sucks because when mixed, it's a delicious treat with a beautiful clash of flavors and textures. Slightly more cornflakes than preferred but less than other matcha places which is a plus. These cornflakes seem more strategic at Nana's to incorporate an intentional crunch rather than be used as filler to keep costs low.
When the matcha ice cream meets the vanilla soft serve and matcha jelly is where the beauty happens. Don't dismiss the entire thing when you first try it but save your judgment for after. I was pleased by the middle and the beginning was simply a welcome that begs you to keep on adventuring. Though, I felt the matcha was a bit sweeter which overshadowed some of the matcha bitter flavor. Price wise this is on the expensive end and value isn't too high, but quality is good.
Linh Nguyen '21
Good typical Japanese dessert. Would recommend parfait and roll cake.
Lu Zeng
Super pro service -- there are two lines, one for take-out, and one for eating in: in the eating-in line, they are very good about not letting people sit down until they've ordered. I queued for about an hour with three of my friends; they found us four seats on a long bench (clearly intended for two couples) and then moved us to a more comfortable spot afterwards. They will find you with your food, and the food will be beautiful.
What else...the matcha is strong! I had the iced hojicha (i.e. not as much caffeine) latte, but with a swirl of matcha soft serve. I was vibrating afterwards from the caffeine. There is a good selection of hot foods (katsu, curry, etc.) and enough desserts (cake rolls! tiramisu! cookies!) to keep you busy for a while.
Worth a try, if only for the matcha high!
asim ahmed
Tried the katsu chicken curry and it was really good. The miso soup was also good on a cold day. Would come back next time to try the sweets.
Cathy Li
The lines are usually a little bit ridiculous for desserts at least as of right now. I got the sesame parfait which was an amazing blend of corn crisps, sesame icecream, vanilla icecream, mochi, sesame jelly, and sesame paste. I am a very big fan of sesame so I do not feel overwhelmed by the combination. If the lines ever get shorter, definitely will go again to try their other selections!
I C
Nice but overrated, nana has a great dessert menu with drinks to go with it. I think it'll get better soon but right now, they are just way too crowded that can sometimes make it less pleasant for people to dine there. I will recommend their desserts and teas for sure!~
Monica Crisp
Delicious matcha frappe with soft serve.
JEE HANG TSE
Great place for desserts and lunch. Parking is challenging though. Street parking is fre on weekend and you can park at the uncover lot next to Seattle Childrens research institute for about $5-6 an hour
Sandy D
Beware the Matcha Soda is super sweet which I wasn’t expecting because it’s just matcha espresso and fizz??? So if you’re not into sweet, don’t make my mistake and order a matcha americano instead… It also wasn’t strong in matcha flavor either; just overwhelmingly sweet. Would try something else IF I return.
Crazy Lady
Everything is good, except we saw that the crew allowed this "blogger" to enter the food prep area to take videos and photos. Not only is that against health & food safety laws, but it made us uncomfortable as we didn't know if she was sick or not, and if she touched any id the food being made.
Please take all the photos and videos you want at your table. DON'T ENTER FOOD PREP AREA for photos!
Angie To
Definitely Seattle's best dessert place for macha lovers! Come here on weekdays instead to avoid the crazy line that would take up to an hour wait
Serene Chang
The salmon sashimi don is over priced. There were only a few thin slices of salmon in it and the rest was rice (very different from what I saw in others' comments). The matcha warabimochi parfait was delicious and goes well with the hot hojicha.
maxine li
I went there last week with my friends. It’s hard to park there. and the waiting line is too long. but it doesn’t take long to wait for the food. I love the desserts there. It tastes delicious. I will go there next time c: hopefully less waiting time next time haha.
T Pham
This place was SO good. Every dessert was meticulously designed and all of the flavors were very well balanced without being overly sweet. We all loved everything that we ordered and were sad we were too full to eat more.
Erika Draven
Amazing guest service, delicious desserts, authentic tea and the food was so good!!!! It was near our hotel and I'm so glad we came here the two days we stayed. Thank you!!!!!
Ed Younskevicius
As someone who brews his own loose leaf tea every day and used to live in Japan, I have to say that the green tea latte and cold hojicha were great. Chicken katsu was prepared authentically which only a few places do in Seattle. Downsides were that the chicken cut was too fatty and the miso was a bit thin.
EDIT: Tried the curry again. Less fatty meat (though still a bit) and the miso was much better, so I’m upping my review from 4 to 5 stars.
EDIT February 2023: Their curry continues to improve. It’s the only katsu curry in town I currently put at the same level as Fort St. George.

Ordered a chicken don. Comes with Miso soup, highly recommended. Side tip- spice things up with sriracha sauce, you can also substitute rice with salad.
Erik Harris
The food was tasty enough and the staff super friendly. I've had chicken katsu curry in other places that was better but this was still good.
Ninad Ligade
Matcha Mochi Parfait is really good
Johanna Conver
A friend recommended this place for a treat after we had lunch together. She also recommended their parfaits. Our group ended up splitting a Matcha Warabimochi parfait and a Black Sesame Warabimochi parfait. The staff member gave us three cups to split it, and we sat at their outdoor seating. Both kinds were delicious! I'm not usually a huge fan of matcha, but this flavor was rich and very pleasant. The black sesame was a pleasant surprise as well - similar to peanut butter, but distinct. The mixture of creamy ice cream, cornflakes, jellies, pudding, and bean paste was part of the fun, both in textures and flavors. The staff person we interacted with was also polite and helpful. Hope I get the chance to visit here again!

COVID practices are followed - very clean. I had a toasted green tea cold drink which was great. To my surprise, it was not too sweet. Great cold drink
Jennifer Lee
The best black sesame ice cream I have had. The staff was nice enough to pack a few scoops of it in a cup to take it home as a pint for later as they were out of the pint containers. From other visits a few tips. The parfait is huge and has corn flakes in it for texture. I also enjoy the matcha smoothie with black sesame.

Super cute, fresh, and tasty. Reasonably priced for the downtown Seattle area.
Crystal N
Is it worth the wait in line? No. I’d like to come back and try some other items. The coffee was ok and the parfait looks instagram worth but in reality it was mostly cornflakes. The savor food wasn’t worth the price. The cashier should’ve been more educated on what was what in the menu.
Yuan Liu
No line during weekday lunches. The chicken is crispy, and a good combination of veggie. Mocha latte also very good.
Abby Danao
Really love their matcha soft serve! It is what I always get when I'm there!
Varsha Vijay Kumar
They have a unique menu. If you are fan of matcha, this should be your go to place. Love the match parfait. I really like the katsu curry chicken too
Sakdipat Kongkaeo
Delicious! I would give 5 stars for the atmosphere and the staffs alone. The desserts here are fantastic. I specifically recommend the matcha cream puff and parfait as they are unforgettable for sure. Also, when it's not busy, bringing some books here might be a good idea too.
Jason C
Absolutely love the matcha parfait among other food items on the menu.
Kay Thompson
This place has such a relaxing atmosphere.
Hojicha warabi-mochi parfait & Hojicha walnuts tart tasted so good.
Joyce
It’s finally here in Seattle!! Have to come and enjoy it. Price is little bit high but worth it. They don’t open on Sunday.

Matcha Softserve 5/5
Matcha Latte 5/5 (so goooood with the right amount of sweetness)
Matcha Cream Puff 5/5

Nice quiet atmosphere and tasty soft serve ice cream. Matcha themed tea drinks and parfaits. Try the Mochi! Bus your own table. outdoor and indoor seating options.
Nick Croker
Pretty solid houjicha late. The soft serve was great with the mochi and red bean.
Susie Kim
Can’t go wrong with desserts here, they recently added tiramisu to bakery section. Perfect summer dessert hopping place 😆 …
M L
Great matcha flavors. My favorite is actually their pint of matcha or black sesame ice cream.
Michelle Lao
Yummy combo of savory food and sweet desserts! If you’re a matcha fan, this is a must! Nice atmosphere as well and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Hayley Nguyen
I love Nana’s omg the food and the dessert and the drinks everything was so good i’m gonna cry 😭 …
MEINI PARNES
💚If there’s a 6 stars rating I’d go with that one. Love this place for my daily Matcha Latte when trying to quit coffee. This place deserves some hype!!!!!💚 …
Junli Zhong
A bit pricey for soft serve but it was delicious and bitter for matcha. I've had their matcha and hojicha soft serve, tea and mochi
Gowaway
I used to love coming to Nana's for food and a treat. Whenever I ate there I felt like I was back in Japan. However recently the prices went up (understandably) and the portions got smaller. The food quality has also gone down.
I will still come by for drinks and ice cream but I don't plan to come for their meals anymore.
Inna Zakharchenko
Japanese fast casual cafe if you like quite yummy food. A lot of choice for matcha drinks and sweets. They also offer katsu dishes, I will be back to try it. The service is attentive and very friendly. You should not miss this place.
Val
Very very tasty tea themed deserts and drinks. Also served a really tasty Japanese style curry. The indoor seating is quite restricted so I would suggest eating outside in the patio area if weather permits. This place is a real hidden gem in the downtown area.
Jaime Li
Cute spot. Very delicious deserts. Very good customer service. Hard to find parking.
Marcus Choi
Amazing. Delicious. Flavorful. Layered. One of the best matcha desserts I have ever had.
Nozomi J
I LOVE this place!!! I grew up in Japan and this is one of the places I go to when I get home sick. Always great service and the yummiest meals, desserts, and drinks. We often order katsu sando, matcha tiramisu, cream puff, yuzu cheesecake, matcha soft serve, and matcha float…. Yes sometimes all at once but we try to eat it over a few days… try to 🤤 I love it so much that my birthday present was 3 different cakes (tiramisu, yuzu, and matcha brownie) and 2 pints of ice cream (matcha and sesame). NGL was low key mad my partner forgot to get points for the order cuz I can never have enough Nanas and their points system is nice but I was in heaven for a week 🥰
Marvin Tsang
Tastes, so matcha rave about. If you are into matcha or green tea, this is the place to go! They also have yummy Japanese lunches, bentos and katsu, this is tucked into the side and so parking might be hard, but a great place to visit!
T.D. Womack
A perfect green dessert to end a Friday mentals day! Soft serve matcha with chocolate cake and matcha cake roll were so delicious. Balance between sweetness and matcha allowed the subtle green flavor to standout and saving most of the chocolate cake until the end allowed it to soak up some of the melted soft serve 😋
Zhongtian Wang
Must try if you are a matcha lover. They also have great lunch options (Japanese curry, rice bowls, etc)
Esat Ogutveren
My first time there, tiramisu was good, Nice atmosphere
Kianna H
Very fast service and super friendly. I always love everything I try! The flavour is so authentic and wonderful. I didn't really enjoy the red bean paste they use, but everything else is AMAZING! the parfaits are always so good and the tiramisu as well ♡ prices are reasonable and the establishment is super clean!
tina c
Yummy!! Great soft serve. Had matcha vanilla twist cone with matcha cake. Cake was like a small delicious brownie side. Will definitely come back. You should stop by when in Seattle.
Zoe Ye
Parfait is a little bit too sweet and not very flavory of Matcha.
Elisa Campos
Loved this place! So good and unique! The matcha hot tea was delicious, if you want it sweetened you have to let them know when ordering. The parfaits are the real stars of this place! Delicious and flavorful with soft serve mixed with cornflakes for an amazing texture combination! Can't wait to go back!
Lois Shea
This place has delicious parfaits but it is pricey. However, I think it's worth it to get that matcha fix! Of course it's not as good as Japan but definitely much better than other places. It does get quiet crowded around lunch time so you might have to wait for a seat. The restaurant also has restrooms that are kept really clean. Come check it out if you're in Seattle !
Laura Alexandra
Good service. Their are taking good precautions. I ordered the strawberry parfait but in my opinion it was too sweet.
HJM S
Good quality matcha and food at this tea house/cafe. Espresso drinks are a little watery/weak but the match really is great and the staff are quick and efficient. Go for the thick pork katsu and delicious curry.
Priscilla Y
This is one of my favorite places to go. Their matcha is amazing in all forms! If you want a real japanese parfait, this is the best one I have had in Seattle area. There is so many good menu items, it's hard to decide which one to try out next!
Norik O
Best green tea sweets! Katsu Curry is also good:)
Margarita Kashkuli
We enjoyed their match soft serve. Is not as sweet and heavy as some other commercial ice cream. Their matcha brownie is very delicious as well. Will definitely come back to try some savory dishes too
Hamala Makala
Record high temperatures in Seattle this past weekend meant the need for something cool and refreshing while downtown was a must.
Friends and I ordered the strawberry red bean latte, the hojicha parfait, matcha mochi parfait, and black sesame parfait. I would say all the parfaits are a must try but I did see many people just get the soft serve from here.
Nika Zhang
Line was long but it keeps moving. The wait time is not tooo bad. Match latte in rich in flavor
Phillip Chen
Hands down the best parfait in Seattle! The drinks are “alright”, but I highly recommend getting the parfait or ice cream 😋 …
Marie H
Delicious parfait! Peaceful and clean interior. Self-bus. Workers are very friendly!
Janet K
Delicious matcha/hojicha desert & drink! They serve meals as well!
Jasmine Sky
Delicious ice-cream and drink ❤️
Victoria Provenzano
Delicious. Not too sweet. Really recommend the hojicha latte, great hot or iced
Alexander Chang
Only reason it's not 5 stars is because the matcha latte isn't thick, it's got the consistency of normal coffee, which is fine, just not what I'm personally looking for in a matcha latte. Still tastes great. The curry katsu is good too. Definitely try the parfaits, just make sure your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach!
Pauline H
Matcha lattes were okay but nothing special which was surprising considering it's a matcha cafe. But the parfaits were really yummy! Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth on a warm day.
Adrian Gaw
I had the Chicken Namban Rice Plate and Matcha Parfait. Both of them are really good!!
Glen
Got the following: sakura soft serve latte, matcha cookie, dense matcha chocolate cake, and the hojicha roll.
Let's begin with the sakura soft serve. It was my first time trying any food (except for kitkats) flavored with sakura so I can't speak on that as well as I can for anything matcha. However, I when I tried it, there's not much flavor to remember it by. I know there's vanilla because of the soft serve. I can taste the strawberry sauce well. I loved the taste and texture of the mochi. But there's just not enough sakura flavor to say that it is sakura with me blindfolded. But that's just me, I could be wrong or SO wrong.
Next up: the matcha cookie and the dense matcha chocolate cake. The cookie was flavored faintly, the cake was matcha bitterness through and through. The white chocolate did not smoothly support the matcha flavor in the cookie; the cake needed more complexity in flavor. But textures are perfect. The cookie was chewy and the cake was seriously dense. Although the cookie and the cake are decent, I don't think these would make me go back.
You know what will, though? The hojicha roll. Inspired! Lovely dessert. The texture of the roll and the fillings were perfect. And the flavor! Talk about eating a cup of hojicha (without the cup)! If the matcha roll is as divine, then that makes up for the cookie and the dense cake and the sakura latte.
Jacqueline Thornton-Praharaj
Absolutely amazing treats! I love matcha and my husband was thrilled to find this place for me. We ordered 3 courses of items and I loved every one. Friendly staff, modern entertainment. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Emma Larkins
Delicious lunch food and unique desserts served in a bright, welcoming atmosphere. I had a tasty ground chicken rice bowl and a hojicha sundae with red bean paste and green tea jelly. Lots of creative pastries and hot and cold drinks as well. Service was friendly, helpful, and fast. Will go again!
Evan Blankenship
I've had the matcha brown sugar frappe, the matcha chocolate crunch frappe, the matcha brown sugar latte, the matcha soft serve latte, and the matcha mochi parfait. Matcha brown sugar frappe is my personal favorite. I live across the water so full round travel is at least 2.5 hours. But all worth it.
Sankriti K
Perfect place for a green tea lover like me..tried the black sesame frappe and the basque cheesecake..frappe was a perfect mix of black sesame icecream and matcha frappe..will be back to try other items.
Krystalina Rattanavong
Fast service and friendly staff! They have a wide variety of parfaits, soft serves, and pastries. The matcha puff pastry is one of my favorites as it’s not too sweet.
Eilleen Zaragoza
Went for lunch at around 11:30am on a Wednesday. No wait, lots of places to sit. Right after 12pm the lunch crowd starting filing in and it was a bit crowded. The curry dish was yummy and the matcha latte with brown sugar was good too. I didn’t care much for the tartar sauce on the other dish, it was too creamy and egg like. A bit pricey for rice dishes. The price for the drinks was comparable to other local coffee and tea shops. Didn’t get a chance to try the desserts but they looked really good!
Ron Flores
Amazing food!! Within walking distance from downtown and the space needle !!
Sop Kim
My wife and I were in town for a day and Nana’s was on her to do list. My wife is a huge dessert junk and loves to visit the hottest spots. So glad we went, because the dessert I got was off the chain. If you are looking for a wonderful dessert I recommend getting the Hojicha Warabimochi Parfait. I was a little skeptical when I saw the corn flakes, but it was a great add on for crunch and texture. I hope this comes to Houston so I don’t have to wait so long to eat again 😋!
Al lee
Very tasty. They definitely use good quality ingredients. It is a little pricey but for the location and quality I think it is worth it. I had the matcha frappe with sesame ice cream with is very smooth and it is not water down.
Meredith Bailey
So delicious. Got the black sesame mochi parfait and it was amazing. Great, fast service, waited less than 5 min. Will definitely be returning to try more things on the menu!
GEORGE G
Antonio made the whole experience worth it. He was inviting and personable. The staff was very well trained and handled a situation at the table next to us with professionalism and grace. Thank you and we will def be back!
Lucy Fei
Finally! Authentic match green tea ice cream like the ones commonly found in Japan. The soft serve ice cream flavor is rich with the slight bitterness from true match powder. I will definitely go back and try the parfait next time! It gets really busy here on the weekend though.
Jonathan Yang
Came here on a whim and loved it! I'm not a desserts person but my wife is and both of had a great experience. Desserts were amazing (not too sweet or overwhelming) and the drinks were on point as well. Highly recommend the parfait and the red bean latte.
Ha Tran
You'll love this place if you like green tea and matcha
Swap
This place has amazing parfaits and other delicious sweets! I love their red bean-matcha roll. However, they didn’t have it and I ended up trying their pumpkin flavored roll. I usually don’t like pumpkin-flavored anything. However, I couldn’t stop eating this roll! 😊 With 3-4 visits in, I’m yet to be bored of this place. 🙂 …
Stevie Djunaedi
Authentic Japanese green tea, Hojicha (roasted green tea) and Black Sesame taste in the dessert. for a japanese dessert fan like me, i like their taste and sweetness level-> not too sweet which is good! nice interior inside and decorations plenty of seating. parking is abit hard during weekdays, but weekends are better, usually will easily get street parking. parfait is yummy, enough for sharing and the drink and floats are to die for. would recommend all dessert lovers to come and visit here.
Janice Chuang
Favorite dessert shop in all of Seattle!
Great ice cream! Not too sweet!
Their parfaits are the best! and they have great prices on their foods as well!
Favorite parfait is the black sesame one!
Will Lin
There are multiple bike racks out front along the plants on the walkway. The glass store front means you can see the bikes while dining here.
Went once during a comicon weekend, and it was a disaster. The staff did all they could, but they were simply being overrun. The ice cream was good though.
Went back another time when they weren't as busy, and this time we got some food too (curry and katsu). The service was fine, food came out in mostly reasonable amount of time, and having some curry then matcha ice cream and mochi afterwards all from the same seat was just awesome. Everything was prepared the way we had hoped for. Katsu was friend properly with crispy outside. The curry had the right amount of flavor. The ice cream was silky and smooth. And the mochi was soft.
It's fun to sit there and watch people navigate the single lane one way street. Doesn't get much simpler than this, but yet people have difficulties with it, like keeping the car in the lane. Sigh.
Alethea Villar
The Sakura Strawberry Parfait & Vanilla Matcha Ice Cream was delicious! Workers were nice and the desserts came out super fast.
Elisa Sun
I am sooooo picky about my matcha treats, but Nana's hits it right on the spot! The matcha taste is rich, but each dessert is so light. I particularly liked the tiramisu (pictured), as well as the Warabimochi Parfait. Give each a try!
Charles H
Strongest matcha flavored soft serve I've tasted - great balance of bitter/sweet. Quick and friendly service too!
Eli E
If you are a fan of matcha you will enjoy this place, staff were friendly. I saw dessert combinations I would never imagine with Matcha! Also they serve regular entrees. This place can be very crowded however and loud.
Jeff Schrader
Loved this place. It's a series of cafes that started in Japan and have since spread to the west coast. They offer many types of desserts, often using matcha as the base. The shop offers everything from roll cakes to parfaits to ice cream and drinks. As is often the case with desserts from Japan, they're not overly sweet, so you don't get the feeling of gorging on sugar. They also offer dinner items such as curries and katsu dishes. Warning, though: it is extremely popular, so you'll have to wait in line before you can order - the time I went it was about a 30-minute wait. But if you don't mind crowds it's worth it. Located a few blocks east of Westlake Square downtown.

Very nice convenient tea room and Cafe... The take out was delicious. Had the chicken and beef plates. The portions r just right for a lunch. Quick service and friendly too... Located right in Denny triangle area is accessible from anywhere downtown SLU... Go there...
Pauline Luong-Carbajal
Whoop, we tried the uberhyped green tea place! It apparently opened in Nov 2018 but in Jan 2019 the lines were still out the door and 15-30 min wait on Saturday late afternoon.
They serve matcha teas, lattes, pudding, soft serve, cookies, cakes, tiramisu, ice cream, etc., but most people get most excited for the parfaits. They also do some of the same items in hochija tea (roasted green tea) and black sesame flavors. You have options of getting red bean, mochi and warabimochi add-ons.
In addition to sweets, they serve rice dishes with chicken kastu or karaage, salmon sashimi, tofu teriyaki. Sides include salad or potato salad. You can add a drink to your meal or dessert for about $1 cheaper than buying separately.
Table space is small but luckily we got good seats because tables turnover at a decent rate. After ordering, the food came out pretty quickly considering how busy they were. Every thing looked great. I loved my red bean apple pie pastry with a side of black sesame ice cream and matcha latte. I liked that the matcha latte was served unsweetened so you can doctor it to your tastes.
My friend got the chicken namban which I'd never heard before even when I visited Japan. Gotta say, this namban was really good and more flavorful than the chicken katsu curry (bland, skip this). The rice looked like high quality sticky short grain rice (Asian nod of approval).
The parfait was good too. The pudding at the bottom is rather unsweet so make sure to get spoonfuls of ice cream with it. The cornflakes add nice crunch to the mix.
Overall a nice spot to satisfy that matcha or red bean or black sesame craving (but the parfait and rice dishes are a tad expensive IMO)
Jason P
Whoa, I can't believe this fell underneath my radar, especially since it's so close to where I live. But the desserts are absolutely terrific, with the added option of eating some lunch/dinner. All their parfaits are terrific, with my preference for the Match Mochi Parfait. I also thought their chicken katsu was good, but this place is definitely more oriented towards dessert. Takeout options aren't that bad due to good packaging and a short walk back to my place!
Thomas Fichtner
Went on a Saturday night at 8pm and the place was packed. Took about 30 minutes to get through the line. But overall the food was great; had the Tuna Avocado Don and thought it was a good value. Finished the meal with a Match Mochi Parfait, which was delicious! Looking forward to coming back to sample more of their Matcha goodness!
Crystal Lee
Consistent desserts but havent tried the food. The area is open, clean, friendly and privacy is surprisingly possible. The sweets run just tad on the sweeter side, compared to matcha maikos, but the matcha is much more concentrated so it helps offset that. Im just being picky tho. Theyre fast, but its hard to find seating during night times and normal expected busy hours
Isobel Miraflor (KitsuneOniko)
So glad thet opened one up here <3 I've missed my Japanese cafe parfaits!
Sarah Torres
Glad my classmate and I came early, suggested by a friend. It was so pack even on a Sunday lol. Their foods looks so good! The interior is spacious and well light even with the divider. I love the Mochi Green Tea parfait! It had so many flavors and textures my classmate and I couldn't finish by ourselves with 1 big parfait haha. She order a green tea mousse and it wad delicious as well hehe. I live the little matcha even they give you when you order anything matcha related and this taste the real deal not the fake, generic, nasty stuff; Yuck! Can't wait to try their others meals! :D
Steph H
Nana's is great because it's consistent -- the taste of the matcha latte here is on par with what I've had at locations in Japan and Taiwan. However it is NOT worth waiting in line for 20+ minutes! Wait for the hype to die down and then check it out. They are not great at managing crowds and it's not worth dealing with the mess.
Liv
Decent food to have for a quick bite. Their matcha latte also is very matcha flavored (in a good way! Sometimes places barely add matcha)
Amina H
I'm from Japan and this store is in my high-school and college memory. I went to Nanas often after school with my friends. Now they are in US. I hope they expand to Cali. Bit sweeter than Japan but so good to taste their yummy Macha ice cream 🍦 dog friendly too. One of their team member brought little pawscream for my puppy 🐶thanks
Renee R
Great food, drinks, and environment! The curry and sashimi were delicious. Very friendly service as well. Would definitely recommend!
Manpreet Kaur
A chance discovery soon became my favorite dessert and snack shop in town. This is a Japanese Café and specializes in matcha dishes. They have all sorts of matcha desserts like cold lattes, frappes, matcha ice cream, rolled matcha cake, matcha chocolate cake, matcha sundae, etc. They offer all the desserts in another flavor of tea called hojicha. At this point, I have tried almost every item on the menu. They also offer Japanese entrées. I have tried their Chicken Katsu Curry. I used to live in Singapore and I must say, the katsu curry reminded me of Singapore. I highly recommend this place if you like matcha and Japanese food. They don't serve all Japanese dishes like sushi or ramen but whatever they do serve is excellent.
Taylor Woll
Great food and desserts but the line outside can get very long.
archana devnath
Loved the sesame pudding and sesame flavoured ice cream. Unique flavours.
makaya rivers
Quick service even with a line that went outside my party was served in less than 15 minutes. Freindly staff, very clean establishment.
Candace Ho
I went to Nana's with some friends for their soft opening and we were not disappointed! Their staff was very knowledgable, friendly, and patient as we were having a hard time deciding what to get! We ended up getting the green tea soft serve in a cone with the green tea cake in it, and the black sesame mochi parfait.
Green tea soft serve + waffle cone + green tea cake: their gt soft serve is amazing; it's not sweet and it tastes perfectly matcha-y which I was impressed by! It was soft and creamy and the waffle cone was crispy. Their green tea cake is also surprisingly good - also very matcha-y and a tiny bit dense which went well with the soft serve.
Black sesame mochi parfait: you HAVE TO GET THIS. This was my favorite, their black sesame ice cream was life changing and the mochi, crunchy corn flakes (it sounds weird but it's an amazing combo, adds good texture), and black sesame pudding underneath was a perfect compliment to it. They also add a little scoop of red bean which was very tasty, not insanely sweet, and not pasty (that's how you know it's legit and not the cheap canned stuff). Would HIGHLY recommend this!
There were three of us and we shared these two, portions for the parfaits are big so I would recommend sharing!
Warren Chin
This is definitely the best place to get a matcha soft serve, as it tastes as good as the ones you find in Japan! The place is known for its matcha products, especially its parfaits! The matcha parfait with the red bean and mochi has the most simplistic combination to satisfy your taste. Given that the place opens in the start of winter with the elements of cold and rain, people still stop by for some desserts here! The lines could be long on weekends and daytime hours, average around 30 minutes wait in line. For shorter lines, try Mondays to Thursdays after 7 PM. This is the largest store in the Pacific Northwest, as it serves more varieties of hot meals, drinks and desserts. (The store in Vancouver BC (West Vancouver) has a limited menu and no waffle cones/soft serve/hot meals.)
Alex
Great food, I recommend the curry and icecream
Mr. RobQ
So this isn't the first Nana's Green Tea I've been to, since there's one up north in Vancouver, B.C.. However, this location is larger, even though there's going to be a line out the door for quite a while. Even though the wait was long, the staff was allowing people to switch to the 'to go' line in order to make more space, which made it more bearable. It was about a 45-60 minute wait when I went, but that's not bad compared to other locations like shake shack.
Let's talk about the food, so I had the Chicken Soboro and it was delicious. It's ground chicken with pickled veggies (not sure what they were) over a bed of rice and a poached eggs on top, it was delicious. Alongside the meal I had a Hoji-cha tea (roasted green tea), which is one of my favorites.
After lunch came the parfait, they're very different from a yogurt parfait, since it less about mixing and more about layers of flavor. I got my favorite, the Hoji-cha parfait, which is topped with Hoji-cha ice cream, mochi, red bean, corn flakes (they help bring texture to the dessert),vanilla soft serve, and at the bottom is coffee jelly. This has a nice mild sweetness that worked well with all the various components and doesn't feel like your eating large amount of sweets.
Final thought: Just go, seriously, even if it's for a soft serve to go, just try it.
Justin C
5/5 on all points one would want in a café, the soft serve matcha is not to be denied. Their rice bowls are just the right size for light lunch, just add the sauce they give you on the side. They have tea sets you can get for box gifts too. Nana's is the best! They also have a Canadian location in Vancouver's Kerrisdale neighborhood.
Stanley L
Great environment and service, and great Macha ice soft cream :)
Michael Songbird
The minimalist decor and deconstructed Japanese tea house of the interior of Nana's tea house provides a welcoming embrace to patrons of this highly recommended eatery . You are greeted at the entrance with a view of the display of tea desserts atop an elaborate counter. Ordering is simplified with a menu loaded with Matcha, Hojicha, Uji-cha, and Genmai-cha. Plus a few delicious rice bowl, salad options, cakes, and parfaits. The high impact menu is loaded with so many great choices featuring some of the best Japanese cuisine. This is an authentic Japanese tea and cuisine experience with great service and moderately priced items. I highly recommend Nana's and it will be a frequent destination for me. Kudos to the owners and staff. Well done Jessmin and team!
Lisa Chu
If they opened one in Bellevue, I'd be broke. Brown sugar matcha latte (not too sweet, which is perfect for me), matcha soft serve frappe (sub matcha soft serve) and chicken nanban rice plate are my go to orders when I come here!
Suphatra Rufo
Always crowded with Asians because this place is authentic. There is a small food menu but really you come here for the parfaits, azuki bean pastries and matcha. Very clean, modern -- appropriate for a coworker lunch/coffee as well as just for friends.
V MC
Everything Matcha Green Tea is refreshing... Coffee, deserts, tea...
Evgeny Kobylkin
Very cool place 😘 …
Rob Stafford
I've been to Nana's Green tea in Oadiaba, Ueno, Vancouver, and Waikiki so when I heard that they were coming to Seattle I had to go and check it out!
The menu in Seattle is different from the other locations with a greater selection of pastries and a lunch time menu. The Karage Curry was 5 pieces of well seasoned and good size chicken. The curry was thick and well flavored and the rice was medium grain and sticky ( not mushy). Similar to what you'd get in Japan at a vendor.
Though the food was good, they are called Nana's green tea for a reason. Nanas uses ceremonial grade green tea (not just lower grade culinary matcha that you get at most cafes including Starbucks). The difference is substantial! The kicker is that you can buy their Ceremonial matcha at the seattle location (of all the other locations only Odaiba had this option!) Try the matcha latte hot or cold and you'll be ruined on Starbucks Matcha lattes from then on.
If you're looking for a sweet treat! Get the Matcha Mochi Parfait. The mochi is soft and perfect, with matcha soft serve, vanilla soft serve, corn flakes, matcha jello. You will not be sorry!!
Mimi Todd
The matcha tiramutsu is extremely yummy.
Xuan Li
Nice environment and yummy food! I love everything about green tea so this is a great place!
Matt Kiefer
The Katsu curry was some of the best I've ever had
Evan Chiles
If you like the feeling of your taste buds being elevated to the 12th dimension while you sit under a huge tree on a cute wooden bench, basking in sunlight and the tingly sensation of the tasting room at the Pleasure Palace....
....then come here and order the Black Sesame Frappe with Mochi for $6. It will change your life.
Ardo Kusuma
Food was good enough.
Don't expect the curry to be "wow".
The matcha / green tea are ok too. Nothing special, pretty standard.
Definitely just a good place for taking Instagram photos.
At least we left the place with full belly and happy.
camtak5
Holding it down. This place is one of my favorite restaurants. Since covid you can't sit in their rad seating space, however they have an outdoor tent and newly adapted walk up window! Love Nana's.
Josielynn Estrella
The best matcha in the area! Nothing compares.
Anudeep Jayaram
I am not the biggest fan of the food here. The fried chicken is definitely not that good. Sort of had a less fresh taste. For that price it should be great. The drinks and desserts are great tho
Davis Wu
Matcha is great and prices are fair.
Laura Matsuura
A piece of home I’m Seattle :) i’m from Osaka and would always get a green tea dessert at Nana’s back home. Same taste, same quality! The line is long and they may run out of toppings if you pop by right before they close.
Jochem Bek
Really good and fresh food! Perfect for a quick lunch.
Kelvin Wong
Food is really good. The chicken nanban rice plate is my favorite item. All the desserts are amazing as well.
Melissa Lim
First US outpost of Nana's. Extensive drink list and parfait menu with soft serve also available. The menu has other food, including rice bowls and plates, karaage and pastries. They've been open since the end of November, but there's still a wait to order and get in.
M W
Almost as good as what is in Tokyo. Ended up coming here three times over 5 days.

Good but to expensive. 2 icecream cost $28.

If you’re a matcha fan, this place is magical! Food is simple and fresh, and the frappes are delicious! Staff is helpful and friendly. It was instantly crowded as soon as the doors opened, FYI. I will be back again!
Michael M
Delicious variety of matcha desserts! A little overpowering of flavor for me, but worth the experience for a uniquely refreshing taste
Cong Yu
Tried matcha soft serve, so good! Also bought the Hojicha cake roll to go, strong hojicha taste, really nice! Not so many people at around 5:30 on Thursday. Will come again soon!
Dave
Nana's is a pleasant surprise. Japanese inspired parfaits, soft serve, rice plates and lattes. Everything was good but a little pricey. When your eyes are bigger than your wallet, it's easy to overspend.

Delicious matcha latte and ice cream , 💯! …
Alejandro Olea
Expedient & Gorme.Matcha Latte & Roll Cake.
Christopher (C. André)
The inside is very different. They provide you a variety of parfaits. The Matcha chiffon cake and Warabi mochi parfait is a good choice. The chicken katsu is also a good option.
The staff is very nice and will offer some advice if you ask
Gabby Ng
Definitely share a parfait because they're huge. I enjoyed the hojicha flavor better than matcha. The parfait are super yummy but hard to eat all the things together because of the tall cup.
Davis Smith
Had a wonderful time

a bit pricy to come here to eat but well worth it for their matcha goodness. I recommend almost everything on their menu but I am also biased and love matcha a lot haha
Firstname Lastname
Excellent food, drink, and dessert, well worth the wait (and around 12-1 it's not even that bad)
Tsedi
Matcha ice cream was really good. Nice customer service.
Hitesh Rathod
It was a really neat place. Everything matcha!

Pleasant atmosphere, good Instagram spot... nothing more. Matcha everything is cool and all, but I wasn't particularly impressed. Will come again if I'm in the area and got nothing else planned.
Leah Bentz
My expectations for the food quality was high, but I was doubtful if I would walk away full. The prices were far less than what I expected, so I assumed portion sizes would be small. The dish I ordered was so tasty and I had plenty of leftovers for that night. I was a little hesitant to go because the line was (literally) out the door and I also thought the wait would be long. Nope, super fast service! I assumed I would be a number because they were so busy, but the two people (taking turns) in the front were both very friendly and personally engaged me. They made the experience memorable. Besides being pleasantly suprised, I learned I assume way too much😂

Great matcha place in downtown area
Irwan McGregor
Found this gem in downtown Seattle, a lot of great things in this place don't let hard parking spot bring it down.
Ruben Dalmacio Jr.
Who knew there were so many options for matcha?! Too many to try, must go back. Black sesame matcha frappe was 🔥, and the chicken karaage was good too.

Get the Hojicha soft serve ice cream and be transported straight to heaven. The flavoring and attention given to the craft of their is amazing!
sharon jimenez acacio
We got the soft serve green tea with red bean and mocha, red bean latte, and green tea cream puff. If you love green tea or matcha this is the place to go. We scarfed down the soft serve. They have alternate milk for extra.

Icream & cake are very good. Will come back if have the chance

I was honestly blown away with their quality and flavor. Going in, I thought I wouldn't like it a whole lot since I didn't like tea but everything I tried was super delicious! I'm definitely coming back
Dana Prouty
I love their mochi, parfaits and matcha drinks. It's nice that they have sashimi and katsu meal options as well as all the amazing green tea desserts.
Shiina Yuri (yuris)
Love the soft serve mocha 🍨, will definitely recommend people to try.
Kaylee Oliva
Very disappointed. I’m not sure if it was timing when we ordered or the quality of the food changed. I ordered salmon don and I only got three small salmon pieces as well as really bad warabi mochi quality
Judy L
Oh my goodness this place is amazing!! The parfait was perfect. Sweet and great texture with the wabarimochi and the corn chips and oh. Highly recommend
Gen Man
I love their choice of parfaits. Brings me closer to when I was in Japan. I wish I tried their dishes as well. The more reason I have to come back to this place. Nice atmosphere as well!
Robert Thompson-Tunstall
Atmosphere was great
Food was amazing
Craig King
Yoooooooooooo. Just go. These flavors and these aesthetics are far out bruh like frfr.
Zaida Pina
Service is great! I was skeptical about the food and portions but left full definitely well portioned and delicious. The desserts especially any with icecream are quite large and perfect to share

my favorite Matcha restaurant in Seattle
Jay Bensal
Had a bad first experience ordering lunch at 1pm today - had to wait 30 minutes for our order. The store was busy but the food process seemed disorganized. Food was good but not worth the wait. The menu looks great and the ambiance of the store is cool so would only come to grab tea when not in a rush.
Long Vu
Delicious matcha choices everywhere!
David Lee
Tea and cakes are good. Not the greatest. Food is ok. Can't tell the difference between typical Japanese dining and this. Hard to find parking. Find parking before you head out.
loneoceans
An enjoyable place to visit but a little expensive though service and ambience was great.
Mang Yang
Nana is a nice place. delicious food.

If you have a Matcha addiction, this is the place to go! The parfaits are so good! If only I could find a place like this in Denver. ☹️
Aayush Chhabra
Matcha mochi parfait is to die for ... 😋😋 The place is always crowded though ... If you plan to go in the peak hours be prepared to spend some time waiting in line ... We always do takeouts which are super fast even if there is a line 😎😎 …
Joe Chow
Place was packed even near closing!. Their signature drink and dessert is obviously matcha green tea, so if you like/love that, then this is your spot! They also have food here like katsu curry.
EV
Match drinks and ice cream were good
Brittany Taylor
I've tried the matcha roll, matcha soft serve, matcha latte all were delicious

This place is my guilty pleasure!! Whenever I come back to Seattle, I take time to come here. I'm really happy that this place is still open during these uncertain times. It's Wonderful!!
Kidduk Kyung
Very tasty and delicious mocha riceball cup. A little bit expensive tho. Worth of a try but don't make it a habit ;)
Angella Esterline
Great place to hang out and enjoy this antioxidant-rich matcha food and beverages
Bhanu Agarwal
A hidden refuge for matcha lovers in the heart of downtown Seattle. They have green tea and red bean flavors in numerous interesting forms, ranging from ice creams and rolls to cookies and lattes.
Su Mi
Absolutely fabulous, a must try macha tea.
Toma Gratcheva
Delicious parfaits that look beautiful! The wait is long due to the originality of this place, but the desserts are worth it. A bit on the pricy side, but the quality is amazing.
Jane Xu
I love love love this place. I’m sad gloomy and rainy days, I like to come here and get happy. I just cannot order some items now because of braces, but the ice cream and cheesecake is amazing.
Josh Rudis
Odd mix of Japanese comfort food and matcha-based sweets that works well. Both are excellent, try and go for lunch when it's less busy.
Evan Moyer
Nana's is solid. It's pretty consistent and the people are always nice but you're paying Seattle Tax for sure. That being said, it's about the experience as well. I've been before and I'll go again.
John Pelonio
We enjoyed the matcha soft serve ice cream. Flavorful and not too sweet.
Samantha Aires
A friend suggested to try Matcha soft serve and couldn't think of other place to taste it but here. Never disappointing! I love the taste.
Zachary Rogers
Best place been here 4 days gone here everyday. If I had 15 dollars left in my bank account I would go to nana’s
_ xiuxiu
I was delighted to get my favorite hoji cha soft serve in Seattle after trying Nana's for the first time in Hawaii. Glad to see this location is bustling with customers!
H'Liana Niehrah
Love the parfaits. Food is good too but way too pricy for the tiny portions. Would only recommend this place for dessert.
Vickie Yang
Staff were lovely and there is so much to try on the menu. Had two tea parfaits which were just the right amount of sweet with great textures.
Benoni Napitupulu
Bought the sponge cake, ice cream and more cake. A place to enjoy fashionable , tasty and greenteaness all around. Got some dishes too for sale.
Eloida A.
Great atmosphere and great service. My experience has always been pleasant. I have ordered parfaits and soft serve. They came out quickly and I’ve always enjoyed them.
Bitter Rabbit
Green tea and sweets! What more can you ask for. It’s pretty, has a unique selection, and overall is just a nice place to hangout and chow down with some pals.
Amy Cheung
Had ice cream and some pastries. Amazing tea flavors!!!

Always friendly staff. Great desserts. All their matcha desserts are first class.

Great delivery of parfaits - wasn't sure how they'd hold up, but they arrived in great condition. And excellent katsu curry.

Awesome spot for good food and even better treats!
Shreya Sriram
Love the green tea here! I wish they had some vegan food options though...
Kathy L
Loved the parfaits, especially the seasonal strawberry one, lots of seating available although it was very full and could be difficult to find an open seat
Hal Carleton
Great lunch spot. I get their katsu curry twice a week. I just wish it came with potato salad or any vegetable really.
Ka Son
Very rich green tea flavored. Bit bitter for me.
Lillian
Matcha products are solid, esp. soft serve. Not impressed by other food though
Kat P
I am not a matcha lover but I had a sweet caramel match hot tea and it was great. Not chalky!!
Boby Kay
The place has a great selection of items. Would do without the long line.
Janessa Wangadi
Stick with the matcha when ordering their desserts.
Justin Huang
Love the cold brew matcha and their desserts!
