A long time jewel of the West Seattle Junction shopping area. The ice cream they make is delicious. I especially like the Kona Coco Rum. The deli is higher than others but their sandwiches are the bomb! Also, there is an assortment of dry goods available that are from around the globe and not sold at supermarket chains.

Wicked sandwiches, old school Grocery and fantastic ice cream make this a must visit. The turkey Swiss cheese and tomato on marble rye is a killer sandwich and they even offer half servings. Pick up a great tee and apron.

Oh man I wish I had discovered this place earlier...so I can always have their delicious, huge sandwiches when I need a quick but good breakfast in West Seattle. They have an expansive sandwich menu, from which I tried like Rosie's on my first visit and absolutely loved it. Portion is generous, ingredients feel fresh, tastes are great, very appetizing and satisfying. I had a customized sandwich the second time, but I think Rosie's is the real deal. Besides sandwiches (and ice ceam), you'll find all kinds of pantry items and provisions in the store. I got a bottle of peanut butter with espresso nibs, it's so good that I finished it in less than one week, haha.

First time here and it was super good! My coworkers have said good things about this place too. (For anyone wondering, this was the Nick and Norah. One of the workers here recommended it to me!) I love the classic vibe of an old Deli shop.

I can't believe I've never been here. The ice cream is amazing and the deli offerings are great. There are foods from just about everywhere available to purchase. Everything you need to feed a hungry Sasquatch (or your family). I could come back day after day just to keep trying different ice creams. They also have a candy bar. Not a single item to purchase, but an actual smorgasbord of candies to purchase. Fantastic truffles and licorices and chocolates.

Here has everything. Savory to sweet! Local historical shop. We stop by here at our bike ride for a snack. Seasonal ice cream flavors are fun to try. We had houchata, they said "egg nog" ice cream is coming out after Halloween. We gotta go there and have the taste.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Classic neighborhood deli and market. Nice selection of local and imported foods; slanted towards Italian, German, and Scandinavian goods; very good selection of jams, spices, and sauces. I ordered The Navigator breakfast sandwich, I really enjoyed it, everything tasted very fresh and it was well balanced. The staff was friendly and seemed happy. I'll definitely come back.

This store is awesome, went out of my way to buy extra stuff. nice selection of interesting/quality ingredients including imported items. Would love to see a house roasted beef/turkey but I had two great sandwiches from here put together perfectly. Friendly young staff just trying to make some extra bucks and learn the ropes. Cannot wait to go back for ice cream!

Great sandwich! But awfully slow service. Stopped in for a really good panini on Sunday afternoon. There were 2-3 other folks getting sandwiches, but it didn’t appear that busy. Waited 15-20 minutes for two sandwiches. Chatting with each other seemed much more important to the folks behind the counter than filling orders. Both my order and my companion’s were made incorrectly. Would love to get a sandwich here again from their comprehensive and delicious menu, but I’m deterred by the poor service.

This place is so cute and delicious! Lots of fun grocery selection, and their sandwiches are so yummy. I ordered the artichoke turkey and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Everyone who works here is friendly, too. Would definitely recommend for a quick, delicious bite!

Now under the ownership of Jack Miller, a third generation member of the family who opened Husky Deli in 1932, Husky Deli & Catering & Ice Cream was predictably busy the Wednesday before Thanksgiving - but not so much that staff couldn’t take their time to offer samples and scoops of their famous Ice Cream. Nothing less than a West Seattle icon, a “throwback” grocer in the best way, guests can expect international goods plus made-to-order Sandwiches, but the real draw are big scoops made on-site and highlighted by “Husky Flake” Stracciatella and Maple Walnut that tastes like cold and creamy Maple Fudge punctuated by lightly bitter bits of crunch.

I visited Husky Deli on a quiet Sunday morning and I was impressed with the selection and service. The space has a lot of things to choose from. It’s almost overwhelming seeing all of the different things in the store. As you enter there are a bunch of ice creams to choose from. There is a deli counter on the right where you can order cuts of meat or meals. There are chocolates and candies to choose from in other cases too. Throughout the store there are a lot of European foods to buy. A kind employee asked if we needed any help finding anything and while we didn’t at the time, she exuded kindness and hospitality. While I didn’t buy any of the foods on the shelves, I got an ice cream cone with a scoop of Raspberry Decadence – chocolate ice cream with raspberry ribbons. The ice cream was sumptuous and delicious. Husky Deli a West Seattle institution and I hope to return.

Husky is a very eclectic shop in the junction in West Seattle. Worth a visit if you are looking for some lunch, deli meats, ice cream, candy or other things. The staff here is super friendly and always having fun which makes the environment much more welcoming. They have a huge menu of sandwiches, the 12th Man is pretty much the best sandwich. Prices are bit high on the ice cream, but they make it themselves so it's from scratch and delicious.

We have walked by this deli so many times but never checked it out. My boyfriend finally decided to get a sandwich here a few weeks ago and he was not disappointed. He got their cuban (only offered during the weekend) and he LOVED it. So last weekend we stopped by for him to get the cuban again and i got a Turkey Reuben. It had a little too much sauerkraut for me, but I absolutely loved it. The thousand island sauce was crazy good, the turkey was flavorful and the bread was perfect! If you're looking for a sandwich I would highly recommend this place!

Good sandwiches but terrible service. The guys seemed much more focused on chatting and joking together than preparing food. As crazy as it sounds, it took a little more than 20 mins to make me a sandwich while I was the only one in line and they were 5-6 behind the counter. Then they were hesitant to give me my sandwich because they didn't remember me ordering. No harm done and I still left a big tip - will update my review if I have better experiences there in the future EDIT: went back a couple times. Everything was great, and the ice cream was delicious! Store was packed but service was pretty fast - at least much faster than last time!

I like this place for unique imported sauces, sweets, and other English cooking ingredients. Apparently they were having supply chain problems so out of a lot of stuff this visit. Also, they are moving down the road at some point to a new development. The young staff is always nice. Will go back again at some point when things normalize a bit.

Their food is really good but the wait times are long for sandwiches. The real shame though is the $4 (!) upcharge for Franz gluten free bread. Guys I know this bread costs $5-$6 at Safeway, I buy it all the time. You're making what should be a nice lunch stop completely unaffordable for your gluten free customers. Your food is good, especially your ice cream but I can't eat here again until you lower the charge on gf bread. It's the highest upcharge I've seen in the area

There’s not much I can contribute in this review that hasn’t been said before. Husky is a West Seattle institution, and it rivals Easy Street in terms of cultural significance within the community. It’s an important place. The best part? Husky isn’t a business content with coasting on its legacy. The ice cream is legitimately world class, the deli sandwiches are prepared fresh with care & quality ingredients, and the confections + specialty grocery wall is always filled with new surprises. This is a business that’s ran with love, pride, and respect for the community it serves. Service isn’t slow nor quick - it’s intentional & thoughtful. Good things take time, and good things last. I hope it always remain true for Husky.

Husky Deli is a great local spot in West Seattle. Every time I go in, the staff is so nice and friendly. I have had a few of their sandwiches and they are always tasty. I also love their milkshakes. I have tried the Oreo coffee flavor milkshake as well as the chocolate flavored milkshake and they are both thick, creamy and delicious. Their ice cream is really good as well. I will say that on weekends they are typically busy but what business isn’t at the Alaska Junction on a weekend? I definitely recommend trying Husky Deli and we will definitely be back!

I stopped by Husky Deli and ordered the Grilled London's Burning sandwich. While I waited, I looked around at the unique food items and teas. They have an amazing selection of tea. The sandwich is an amazing combination of flavors and is unbelievably delicious. I will be returning. They are a small, family-owned store with very good customer service.

One of my favorite local Deli' s in all of Seattle. When I visit West Seattle Junction area. I always go in and order either ham and swiss on light rye, or turkey breast on sourdough sandwich. Finish it off with one of there wonderful in house made ice cream in plain cone. It is a family owned business three generation's. A vital part of West Seattle Junction. Must visit again soon. 🍞🍦

Husky Deli is part deli part ice cream shop part grocery store. They have a wine selection in the back along with an assortment of non-produce items like pasta, crackers, cheese and jam. I did not try their deli but their ice cream is good. They have a great variety of flavors. The prices seem a bit high but for a single scoop they pretty much give you the size of any normal double. We asked to have a split scoop and got two scoops of each. The service was also very good! It's a family run store and many of the employees are related which is sweet. Our server was really nice and even gave us some tips about places to visit in Seattle. Overall a great family friendly place.

Overall a really nice place. A wide variety of flavors available and a really great neighborhood presence. The ice cream is honestly overpriced, and I don't think it's high enough quality to justify the price hike, but I feel better knowing it's going to a neighborhood staple. The line can get a bit long but they usually move pretty quick.

A lot of restaurants haven't felt worth the hassle of going out lately what with covid regulations, but this is one of those places that's always an awesome experience - despite all the precautions being taken, the employees have been the nicest, the milkshakes are amazing, the prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are huge! Now that things are opening up again, it's a nice simple spot to hang out and eat inside.

Excellent deli. We stopped for ice cream and it was amazing. Fresh made waffle cones and a big selection of ice cream flavors. The deli side has a great selection of sliced to order meats and cheeses. Shelves are packed with sundries from around the world. Canned Haggis from Scotland to water crackers from England even Vegemite from Australia and so much more. I really liked this place and it’s worth a visit.

We've lived here for over a year and finally made it to Husky Deli. Where has this place been all my life? The line for ice cream was wrapped half way around the store (it moves quickly), but your patience will be rewarded. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the scoops are very big, and the ice cream is amazingly good. I am really excited to come back again, and also visit for some breakfast or lunch options.

Local shop in the Junction. The selection of European goodies resulted in me sending multiple photos to my Nana of treats she enjoyed when we were in Scotland. We ordered sandwiches and while they are not the fastest with service, the entire staff was friendly and answered all questions. This place is a gem. Homemade ice cream (with a variety of interesting flavors that are sure to please), delicatessen, treats from around the world, etc, etc, etc. This is a cool place! My fiancee was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of British candies and chocolates in the back as I was just happily perusing all of the different items. We ended up having some sandwiches made and then grabbing some ice cream. It was good. This place isn't super cheap, but then again I'm not from Seattle, or a big city for that matter. My idea of cheap is the dollar/quality menu at any fast food joint.

This place is a West Seattle institution--I remember coming here as a child and it's still great today! The ice cream is homemade and super delicious. They have a full deli with difficult-to-find items and a truffle/candy counter. If you can score a parking spot behind the building in the free parking, they even have a back entrance so you can be mere steps away from ice cream heaven.

Great sandwiches, though we’ve only tried a limited sample of the extensive menu. We’re stuck on the Chicken Pesto and Southwest Chicken and it’s been hard to branch from those two as they are very solid choices. Have yet to try ice cream but definitely on the to-do list. Be warned that they are pretty busy throughout the day pretty much every day and depending on what you order, you may have to stand outside for awhile waiting (per their COVID protocol).

I FREAKING ADORE THIS PLACE. What isn't to love? The sandwiches are unparalleled - their ultimate grilled cheese is 💯 and my favorite z the grilled vegetarian with mushroom field roast, is the sandwich of my dreams. My SO and I come here far too often to be good for our waistlines, but we split a whole sandwich now so at least we are sort of being good? On top of the sandwiches, their homemade ice cream is the best "traditional" ice cream in Seattle. Their shakes are perfection. Love that they started offering a smaller size so I can feel a little less guilty when I indulge. But don't stop at the sandwiches and the ice cream. Keep going to the back of the store, where you will find an amazing selection of chocolate (and you can theoretically purchase some of that field roast if you are so inclined to attempt to recreate their vegetarian sandwich. I'm not sure I'm up to the task - I just buy it to make inferior sandwiches at home). We sneak back there from time to time and treat ourselves to their tasty truffles. Last but not least - if they have scones, grab one when you are checking out with your sandwich. They're basically super tasty biscuits with jam inside. Yum. This place is a neighborhood staple - and favorite - for a reason. They're always busy. Don't let that dissuade you though; you can order to-go on the phone and pick it up to save some time. It's our signature move: order, then walk over just in time for the sandwiches to be ready. Enjoy!

Husky Deli is a West Seattle staple (and it shows). The place is packed, nearly every day. Locals speak of it as if it's been there forever, because, it basically has been. Most of the employees grew up here and take pride in their work. The Ice Cream is mostly great and made on the premises. They also sell it in bulk tubs to take home (for extremely reasonable prices). They offer generously-sized scoops and heavily-packed milkshakes. You never go away feeling ripped off, like you do at some of the newer parlors in Seattle. They also offer a deli sandwich counter where you can order customized whole or half sandwiches (using mostly Boar's Head products from what I could see), along with homemade side salads and soups. There's seating facing the windows, at the front of the store, and a few tables outside on the sidewalk. If you care about wine, they do have a fairly large selection in the back. Definitely check this place out and grab a freshly made waffle cone full of your favorite flavor during a hot day. Just be sure you really love the flavor, because the scoops are enormous.

I love this place. Great sandwiches (and good sandwiches are shockingly hard to find in West Seattle) but the star attraction is the ice cream. Their ice cream is my favorite in Seattle (especially the Husky Flake) , and stopping by Huski Deli for a cone at the end of a hot day is quintessentially West Seattle.

Oh my god... We loved this place! Very cute family owned ice cream shop and deli! Went for ice cream twice during our short stay! Warning, their ice cream portions are huge!!! I got a split single and it was like 5 scoops of ice cream. My hubby got a double and got basically a couple pints in a cone! 😂 So many flavours to choose from. Loved the Mexican Cinnamon Drink and Espresso flavours. Hubby liked the Reese's peanut butter cup with full size peanut butter cups crushed into it and some berry cheesecake one. The flavours change though so don't go expecting the same flavours as the day before!

Jack and Heidi are just the kindest people on the planet -- very Lucky to have them here in West Seattle spreading smiles and exceptional service along with great food! Awesome place for ice cream (homemade, baby!), deli sandwiches, cold salads, foreign foods (are you craving Vegemite from Australia? Buy it here!) and candies. In the summer, this place is PACKED, so seating is at a premium. There are a few tables inside and two long tables outside. I'm a Type 2 diabetic but even I have to break down and get some fantastic ice cream here when I visit friends in West Seattle. I haven't tried the sandwiches or other foods yet but I might have to one of these days. This place is popular with kids and parents and everyone else. It has ZERO pretentious attitude.

I love this place. Lived here 35 yrs.and I go in at least 1 day out of the wk. Soups can be strange sounding ( roasted tomato w/beans,spinach lentil ),but they are delicious and very flavorful. Sandwiches are outstanding as are the staff. Ohhh don't let me forget the ice creams on hot days..they even make malteds. Looking for that rare item in a recipe they have a lot of those items in the store itself.Huskies is a must place to check out.

Cool little deli with lots of different sandwiches and a variety of European snacks and sauces (think Barry's tea, Cadbury hot chocolate and fingers, lots of different preserves and cool horseradishes and mustards), plus they have about 20 different ice creams and lots of different candies. It was fun to be able to walk around and there were a lot of people getting ice cream...still required to wear mask, just so you know.

Great ice cream, the staff was much more concerned with chatting about the new way they’d learned to make waffle cones than serving me though. Despite four people being behind the counter, it took about a minute of standing expectantly at the counter for someone to ask if I needed help with something. The horchata ice cream was good enough to make up for it; just make sure not to except high quality service.

But 25 minutes for the most basic cold tuna sandwich is kinda crazy... maybe the other sandwiches take more effort, maybe they have tastier things but I don't know that I'll wait and see, the bakery next door is way better.

They're known for their sandwiches and ice creams. However, they do have many neat selections of other things - wines, teas, coffees, breads, chocolates, and candies! They have some packaged items (mostly food and condiments?) from other countries as well. Just wanted to mention all of those, but I usually just go for their grilled panini and their ice cream. The price is awesome and you can park behind the store!

Great service! Spent an afternoon there with my 6 year-old son and got some delicious ice cream. When my son accidentally dropped his drink and it shattered, he got upset because he'd made a mess (not because he lost the drink), and the staff replaced the drink with a brand new one anyway. I dont usually like sour sandwiches but the London's burning sandwich was soooooo good. bread cheese and chilis combination was super. I also got the chicken avocado which was good as well. the sandwiches are smaller than my coworker had described so I recommend getting the whole sandwich. there are also soups and other things you can add to your order if you are just getting half of a sandwich. I will definitely come here again in the future to try all the sandwiches and ice creams.

My wife's family has been ordering from Husky for over 30 years now. We've personally ordered food thru Husky about 7 times now in ten years. We are never disappointed in the amount of food nor the quality. Their chicken skewers are more than ample. Their BBQ meat balls are good to go. The sauce is incredible. (I am very picky about BBQ sauce) Although we hadn't ordered their sandwiches in awhile, those were always great as well. Plenty of ingredients and fresh. The only dish I we thought was questionable is their very tiny quiche. They taste good, but, they are so tiny you may have to eat 4 or more to be anywhere near satisfied. Even saying that: We still highly recommend Husky above all other catering, deli companies from s.o.d.o. to West & South Seattle.

I've been a Huskys stalwart for nigh on forty years... maybe longer. They've been a top drawer old style deli since Mt. Rainier was a hole in the ground, delivering their wholesome goods with horse and buggy. You don't need to go to a chic, boutique ice cream shop for good ice cream... you only need to go to the people who like ice cream as much as you do. Huskys Deli. Stay away from their Blackberry Cheesecake ice cream; that's mine.

They have Husky Ice cream, real ice cream soda fountain, wine in the back, deli deliciousness fills center of the store There's a "real deal" deli case where You can see stacks of meat to be sliced for your sandwich. and, if you turns been around 90°, you can see all the wonderful homemade chocolates that could be your dessert. On top of that, there's places to sit that look out on the sidewalk and you can watch the rest of West Seattle stroll by on any Saturday. They support local teams & have for years. They even share their 2 restrooms with public. No key to sheepishly beg for, while running in place . THIS IS LOCAL,Folks ! ALthough there's a move coming because of redevelopment, from what I understand, HUSKY DELI has been promised a place! Now that's "cherishing what's worth cherishing"

I can't recommend this place any higher. Jack, his family, and his team are like everyone's family friend. In this day and age of declining civility and impersonal transactions, coming to Husky Deli is, and has always been, a breath of fresh air. If I'm even sorta nearby I'm stopping in. Like sandwiches? The sandwiches are gigantic and tasty! My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini (I ask to add Mama Lil's Peppers on it). They have many other sammies or you can build your own. Like deli meat? They have an amazing selection to buy in bulk for making your own sandwiches. IT'S ALWAYS BETTER AND CHEAPER THAN ANY STORE AROUND! The Husky Deli is a West Seattle institution. Generations of West Seattlites have grown up with either a sandwich or a waffle cone in their hand. Bread is baked next door every morning at Bakery Nouveau, and the soup is fresh, and made by hand, from scratch... by the same person who has made soup there since I was in diapers. Husky Deli is one of the few spots in town you can get cajeta, locally made ice cream, and Haribo gummy candies in bulk. It has a truly eclectic mix of items, most european, that will probably make you wish you could afford that $8 jar of jam. But who cares? It's an awesome shop, and even if you can't afford the jam, there's probably something in there you've been looking for or wishing you could find in regular grocery shops. And, if not, you can drown your sorrows in lovely, lovely ice cream.

So this is a small place with nothing really special going on. I have a soft spot in my heart for this place because they had a wine I couldn't find anywhere else. Can't really recommend it, but if you are in the area it is worth checking out.

Love huskys its a lttle bit of everything. This place is where you take the kids after the game for freash ice cream. Also good place after a date. Out door setting and lots of parking in the back. Inported food and chocolates that are to die for.
