Hatch is a one of a kind place. Not only do they carry delicious chocolates but they have by far The best hot chocolate in the valley. Stop in for some delicious sweets, hang out and warm up with delicious hot chocolate. Highly suggest to go with the Dark hot chocolate.

These guys are amazing we went to see this place 4 years ago due to my daughter going in for heart surgery she was able to meet one of the owners. We are back in salt lake city for my daughter's open heart surgery she is really hoping to go back here before we head back to Idaho. Tried their dark pumpkin spice hot chocolate. My husband got their dark peppermint hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate and this is probably the best I have ever had. Check them out!! I had no idea this amazing gem was located near downtown SLC. We will definitely be back!!

Here’s the thing, obviously the chocolate is amazing and the hot chocolate is out of this world. But what is outstanding is that even though the line is out the door, Steve the owner, treats you with kindness and appreciation. Two words: Hot Chocolate! If you can’t think of what to try first, please try their hot chocolate! We always enjoy coming here and looking at all the beautiful chocolate goodness. My favorite place to come to while downtown in SLC. Prices aren’t too bad for the quality. I recommend trying a little bit of everything. Their truffles are to die for and the peanut butter bars are so delicious. Darn it try it all guys! Just do it!

Excellent chocolate! We got the frozen hot chocolates and they were very good. One $10 cup is large, easily enough for two! Also, ask about the hot chocolate card. After buying nine, the tenth is free!

This place is bomb. And I don’t know how it’s not more we’ll known. During winter time the hot chocolate is the best. It’s like drinking straight from Wonkas chocolate river. Augustus Gloop would lose his mind here. All around the chocolate is very high quality. And more importantly consistent. The chocolatiers here know their profession. This is a must visit establishment.

The hot chocolate really is phenomenal here. 10 oz of it will cost you 6 bucks, but it's more like you're drinking 16 oz of regular hot chocolate, because it's so rich and thick. The ice cream is really expensive also, and I'm not sure it's much better than ice cream from other places. But the atmosphere is fun, and usually crowded, though very lively. We love the magicians that come on Monday nights.

The systems went down right before we got there, and they were still able to manage the transaction greatly, they were all very friendly and it's such a cute little shop! The hot coco was delish (must try), and the chocolates were succulent with real flavor, try the raspberry cream milk chocolate num num!!

This review is coming a bit late since we went back in february buuut better late than never right? all of their assorted chocolates looked amazing and the ones we had were very good. The dark chocolate hot chocolate was delicious and I’d for sure get again. lost one star because I’m not sure if it was just the night we chose to go, but the regular hot chocolate was underwhelming and not worth the line we waited in. The rest was great though!

Drove all the way up to the Avenues, stood in line for a good 15 minutes behind a bunch of families only for them to tell me they just barely ran out of what I had come for. On a better note, their chocolates and beverages are absolutely fantastic. Extremely high quality, and a fun, kind crew working there. Just wish they had some for me.

They have a wide variety of delicious desserts. I have tried all the brownie variations, sugar cookie, and a couple different ice cream flavors, all of it was excellent. All the desserts are very rich, so you could definitely share one or take some home. Some nights they have live music and there is a little park directly across from their shop. The staff are fun and friendly!

It's all delicious! The raspberry sugar cookie had a very refreshing raspberry flavor which caught me off guard based on previous notions of what a fruit flavored sugar cookie is, definitely give that a try! The individually dipped chocolates are varied enough to find something you will like, we enjoyed the salted caramel quite a lot. Don't forget their brownies either!

Amazing. No words. I was referred to Hatches Chocolates by a co-worker and I am so grateful! :) The chocolates are indescribably delicious, with creamy chocolate, amazing fillings, and the flavors balance perfectly. They have ice cream too: it's the best, creamiest ice cream I've ever had. They also actually have lots of toppings in their ice cream, like the cookies and cream ice cream actually has lots of cookies in it! That's all I ask for in an ice cream (besides being creamy) and very few satisfy that requirement. I've heard they have great hot chocolate too, although I haven't tried it yet. Great location and really cool murals on the walls!

This is my favorite chocolate shop! I used to go to school in the avenues and I had to visit the hospital for various reasons and this was my happy place. Their chocolate is beautiful (so is their fudge) but my favorite is their ice cream, sorbet, and frozen hot chocolate. I also just love the atmosphere, all the paintings that get hung around and change every so often and the chairs are pretty comfortable, especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Sorry I'm rambling this sounds like an ad... But I really loved having this shop to go to in my last few years growing up.

The place you have to experience in Salt Lake City if you’re a chocolate lover.They use the best cacao around and that makes the difference with their quality , which is hard to beat. Also their hot chocolates are a must try in times of cold since they’re sublime (they also offer a couple of vegan options which are as good as their regular non vegan ones). Great location in the avenues and plenty of parking around.Expect some lines if you come here in the weekends , specially Friday evenings. Service always very cordial and friendly and love their live music some Friday’s/Saturday’s.

The best hot chocolate in Utah! I never really liked hot chocolate until I had Italian hot chocolate (it's almost pudding like.) I have tried many hot chocolates in Utah since (10 years worth) hoping to find something similar only to be disappointed. This is the first place that has hot chocolate as good as the authentic hot chocolate in Italy. My husband and I like it so much that we drive all the way from Herriman to get it on our dates!

I've enjoyed Hatch Family Chocolate for a while now but just recently was able to take some time to go into the store. I love the local artwork they have and how calm the atmosphere was. The caramel and chocolate pretzels are my favorite, next to the milk cinnamon bears. I haven't tried the ice cream yet, but based on what everyone else says, that and the Hot Chocolate are next!

This place is a new favorite! Not only do they have a gratuitous assortment of delicious chocolates and chocolate-adjacent offerings, they also make most of their own ice cream in house. If you like fresh roasted nuts at all, try the maple praline ice cream. I think it may be my favorite ice cream of all time. It was that good. Also - shout out to Brady for enabling my husband and I to taste test way too many of their ice cream flavors before we made a decision. They were all so good! I can't wait to come back.

Cutest little date night place with a girlfriend or otherwise! Delicious ice cream that seems homemade and unique! Decent prices! Could be a little lower for five stars. If the ice cream doesn't fill ya there are tons of chocolates and its a cute environment. They let us sit and talk after closing.

Steve, the owner, is a delight. He makes a personal connection with each of his customers and is so wonderful to talk with. Definitely worth your time and money to try out Hatch Family Chocolates. I've only been once here, but my first experience was magical. Yes, I'm aware that sounds cheesy, but from the high quality service and delicious products (I ordered the orange hot chocolate), all of the local artwork that is displayed and sold, to the fun events that they have going on (like the magician and balloon artists on Mondays), it really does pull you in. It feels like more than just a place to get good sweets. They have created an atmosphere that makes you want to sit down and stay. I have every intention of coming back here.

Hot chocolate is a MUST when you go here. We had a group so we were able to taste both the dark and milk versions. If you are a dark chocolate lover, be sure to get it because it definitely doesn't disappoint. But I would recommend getting the regular milk hot chocolate your first time if you are only going to get one. It is so smooth and silky!

Not super cheap, but worth every penny. They have the best hot chocolate, made from real melted chocolate (it's pretty rich). They also sell dipped pretzels, dried fruit, Oreos, etc--along with your classic truffles and fudge. They also have ice cream and frozen hot chocolate etc.

I always get the dark hot chocolate. It's soooo good! I got cinnamon in it once too, which was pretty good. Nice that it's pretty close to downtown but enough out of the way that you don't have to worry about parking (though not ideal if you don't drive).

High quality, delicious chocolates are all the better in a warm, inviting atmosphere. I feel like a kid every time I walk in. I almost feel at home, and I’m a raging introvert. My first time going in was after a movie they played on the building for a block party. So much fun. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I wouldn’t have thought of going to a candy store for something Iike chocolate chip cookies, but I tried it and it’s probably one of the best I’ve had. I like the Malone’s, rice treats with marshmallow middles. Everyone here has been so patient as I’ve said, “ what’s this? Oh. Really? Sounds good. I think I’ll have that. Wait. Hmmm, that looks good too..maybe that..”. Definitely worth stopping in. It’s directly across from the hospital, so if you’re like me with frequent hospital visits, Hatch chocolates is perfect for when you need a reward for being brave.

Been coming here whenever we can (we lived in Utah County, and now in Colorado) for years, back when it was on 4th and E street in the avenues. The owners are gracious, and profoundly expert in their craft-the chocolate is amazing, and the hot chocolate is so rich as to be difficult to consume on one's own. It's a favorite of mine to get some hot chocolate (which is, for all intents and purposes, exactly as if they'd melted a chocolate bar, added some cream, and called it a day-wonderful beyond all reason) and take it down to walk around temple square during Christmastime. By the time you get there, the drink has cooled enough to not be painful, but is still warm enough to comfort the soul. Go here. Enjoy it, and revel in joy that comes from promoting a local business with such a rich, amazing offering!

It was some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had, and the Aztec flavor changed how I make hot chocolate at home, it was so good! We got a small table and enjoyed great live folk music. Our first visit was great. Had some of their chocolates and their chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream. The ice cream was so good that we went out of our way to go back for it on the second visit and was disappointed that they didn't have any. Unfortunately the flavor I got instead wasn't as good. Will definitely go back again, but may call ahead to make sure they have the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream on hand.

Excellent hot chocolate drinks. I've loved this shop for years. The paintings add to the quirky ambiance and are worth making a trip just to see, but the hot chocolate drinks are what you can't miss. Whenever I have visitors, I always take them here and buy them each a hot chocolate. After years of always getting the dark hot chocolate, I tried the Choco's mocha, their amazing hot chocolate paired with espresso. It is somehow greater than its parts and it has become my default. I had given up on mochas but this one is special.

This place is SWEET. I've ordered a hot chocolate and milkshake from here and both packed a PUNCH. They are delicious but I'd get the small size because you feel like your face is melting after about 4 bites. The oreo shake was unbelievable and I'd recommend going here if you havent already. You will not be disappointed. Environment: awesome location and there are often bands that come and play music while you're there. (Kind of hard to talk to people but it's still sweet.) We stopped by as part of a ghost tour (side note - the shop used to be a grocer's and it's believed that the basement is haunted, most likely by the original owner) and the current owners joined in the tour to share their stories. As the tour was wrapping up and getting ready to move on, we were given some fantastic dark chocolate suckers shaped like ghosts. We also found out that they were doing their monthly outdoor movie that night (Despicable Me 2) and had to come back. Next time we're in SLC we'll be swinging by again.
