Visited 7/2022, the line was 20 or so people deep but moved quickly. We ordered after about 20 minutes of being in line. The ice cream was wonderful and we felt it was a good value. There is no indoor place to sit so after you order everyone goes outside on the patio. They offer a bunch of flavors and a few different way of eating them (traditional cones, waffle cones, waffle bowls, cups and milkshakes) their flavors change on a regular basis but it seems like our favorites are always available. We would definitely eat here again!

Top notch ice creamery! They make all their ice creams and ices right there in the store! No frozen product being shipped to them from some corporate kitchen. They are an Ohio-based ice cream shop hence the name of their Buckeye flavor. I stopped in during a slower time and the staff was very friendly and accommodating of my many questions. They do offer samples if you want to try a flavor or two before purchasing. The quality of the ice cream is very high. It's actually a gourmet ice cream. They even have Frosty Paws on the menu for our furry friends. So dog owners can buy their pups a safe, healthy treat safe for canines when the humans get a tasty treat of their own.

Me and my friend went for a sundae. It is so delicious 🤤🤤 and the people are friendly!! Brooke scooped up our ice cream and she is patient and gave us extra cherry than we asked seeing that we are 3 people!!! Thanks!! Honestly I love the ice cream and people would repeat!! As far as the ice cream goes it’s not too sweet it just has the right amount of sweetness to it.

I had a few minutes to kill on a 100° summer day before picking my kiddo up from camp. I decided to wander in and check our Handel’s after stopping at Scheels in Sandy. I worked at an Ice Cream Shop in High school and any place I’ve tried doesn’t quite stack up.... until now. There was a little line, but the staff worked through it quickly. The ice cream parlor is clean and the staff is very friendly. I had chocolate marshmallow and coffee chip. Handel’s ice cream is delicious, the right amount of sweet and the perfect mix of butterfat! I will definitely be bringing my son back in!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. They change their flavors regularly and every time I come in, I'm surprised and delighted by something new. Today I tried grape ice cream and my inner child woke up a little. The ice cream is fairly good, but full of gums and thickeners. The lack of seating inside makes buying high grade ice cream and cones at the store to enjoy at home a little more tempting. In response to reply: please share the complete ingredients list of both grape and a basic vanilla flavor.

I’ve tried several favors at this location - the Mud Pie and Horchata flavors were great. My personal favorite is Monkey Business - the banana flavor is truly incredible, the caramel swirls and the brownie bits were just perfection!

My daughters favorite ice cream was the cotton candy.Every Monday she asks me to go to this place. She told me she liked how the texture was perfect and it was homemade. So this year for her birthday she wants to go there with all her friends. I will be there with my daughter and my boys this time. My boys also want to try the ice cream there.

The ice cream serving sizes here are really big! As you can see from the image the single scoop is really multiple scoops. If you want lots of ice cream for a good price this is the place to go. My big complaint is the milkshakes were more like chocolate milk. They offer a thick shake so maybe that’s what the rest of the world considers a regular shake.

Handels is SUPER tasty ice cream! It tastes 100% real and fresh. They have tons of flavors and tons of options. The ice cream is so creamy and they give you a decent amount for the price. My only complaint is that there is no room inside to sit and the ordering area is very small! I can see how this would be a HIT in the Summer but when it is 20 degrees outside, I don't want to eat ice cream outside, so we ate in our car! lol! But the benefits outweigh the rest, because this ice cream is damn good.

I got the 4 scoop sampler and it was great! The cinnamon roll flavor is fricken BOMB, but all the scoops were very creamy and high-quality. Also the employees were super friendly and helpful. They made lots of recommendations, let me try however many samples I wanted, and they just had this natural banter going. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a variety of flavors as well. You guys are awesome!

Great place to stop by and get an ice cream cone. Love the atmosphere and friendly customer service. I asked for a small cup of ice-cream for my 2-year-old and they gave him the cutest complimentary vanilla scoop on a miniature cone. I ordered one scoop of pralines and pecans on a cone and it was a large scoop, with fresh tasting pecans. I love ice-cream. I usually buy grocery tubs to keep in my freezer at home. One star off because the flavor of the ice cream itself was OK not much better than like Dreyers or Baskin Robbins. Maybe I should try a different flavor next time, but I was visiting from out of state.

Creamy ice cream, what more could you ask for? Their ice cream is sweet, so sometimes this makes it a little hard for me to finish. Plus the portions are huge, even the smallest size is big. But that’s also great because it is a great value for how much you pay!

We first tried Handel's in St George and then we're so excited to get a location closer to us in Salt Lake! This is the best ice cream!! You will not be disappointed. Super creamy homemade ice cream I love that they have so many unique flavors to choose from. I've loved everything coconut flavored that I've tried and really love the banana cream pie and coconut cream pie. My daughter loves the Midnight Madness (dark chocolate with peanut butter Oreos and peanut butter ripples). Yum!!!

Got the Birthday Cake Monster Shake. Love it! Delicious and generous size. Definitely coming back! If it’s your first time you should know the ice cream flavors are also the malt and shake flavors though that may be unclear if you don’t ask.

Great Ice cream. I've tried all of the ice cream besides the pecans and the one with nuts. But everything else Is supper good and I recommended. Great customer service I've never seen such kind workers in my life with great and big scoops. So If you want some ice-cream then defiantly come to handles. I always come whenever I can and whenever I'm there, theirs this Calvin guy who Is probably one of my favorite worker in the store.

I've cream was great. Staff members were friendly. Only thing I'd change is the ordering setup/procedure. I'm sure it's straight-forward for those that have been there before but it was confusing to the many of us that had not been there before. Nobody knew where the line was, where to order, or where to pickup. It was chaotic. A couple signs would clear things right up. Very good overall though.

The ice cream is Ok. The service is always great! But the ice cream always leaves me wanting. Ice cream is my favorite dessert, and I normally can go for just about anything. However, this ice cream promises more than it can deliver. The servings are massive, it looks delicious, comes out dripping just right. Yet, despite these structural and textural perfections, the flavor falls short. It's like being thirlled for Christmas, only to wake up and find out your dog ran away. 10/10 on the presentation tho.

Oh how I love Handel’s homemade ice cream! My husband and I used Handel’s to cater my son’s 3rd birthday and it was the biggest hit! The owner came out and served everyone! I'm so pleased Handel's opened in Sandy and brought back the lost art (can it be called an art?) of "going out for ice cream"! This place is amazing. Just reading their long list of yummy flavors is an experience. So far I'm in love with their coconut cream pie and banana cream pie. I was so impressed to learn they actually make their ice cream daily in-store. I have a thing for vanilla ice cream--always vanilla over chocolate! Their vanilla is heavenly and is the perfect base for the delicious flavors they have come up with. It's in a great location and has a fun vibe.

What a fantastic little ice cream shop! Even on a chilly winter night... the quality is so good that it’s worth some ice cream. Our service was excellent. Even though there was a long line, it moved relatively swiftly and we all really loved every flavor we had. The only downside is that inside there just isn’t very much room. There is nowhere inside to sit and enjoy the ice cream. In the summer, it’s located on a lovely little spot where there will be lots of space outside to relax and have ice cream. So just be aware that in the winter, you just get your ice cream and then probably head back to your car to go enjoy it somewhere else. I’m really excited to go back in the summer.

If you love ice cream, waffle cones, tons of options, and an enjoyable night, this is your place. Creamy ice cream that is stacked high is just one of the great things here. I love the vanilla with Reese’s. The candy bits are not frozen solid, so they melt in your mouth next to the cold vanilla cream. Sooo good.

We tried 3 flavors at Handel's and all of them were perfectly named. Flavors were all spot on! We tried the Caramel Pretzel Crunch, Chocolate PB Brownie and Chocolate Cake Batter. Our favorite of the 3 was definitely Caramel Pretzel Crunch. If you like airy, fluffy ice cream then you'll love Handel's! We got our ice cream in bowls so we could share, but we think you would get more bang for your buck with a cone. Their menu is pretty big, don't be afraid to ask for recommendations from the employees!

The ice cream here was great. There are so many flavors, which was a little overwhelming. They are great to offer samples which was helpful. I had the 4 scoop sampler which was a great way to try a few different flavors. My only complaint of this place is that there is no indoor seating. We ended up eating it in our car, which was hard with a 1.5 and 3.5 year kid.

Monkey Business! This flavor took me back to when I was younger and we would get chocolate banana shakes from Iceberg. What a delightful treat. The ice cream is on point. I am definitely impressed with the quality. Can't wait to try more flavors!

The ice cream is so creamy and that is an understatement. They have a ton of different yummy flavors (20+) they have a few dairy free options as well. They have a four scoop sampler to try a variety($5.50) . It is a little pricey. We usually get hand packed pints($6), which are only 5 cents more that a double scoop ($5.95)so we have ice cream for a few days. Love this place!

Decided to go try this new ice cream place with the family on a Saturday night. The line was long but it moved fast! Cole was so helpful and let us try whatever flavors we wanted. He said his favorite was the strawberry cheesecake so I got that and it was so creamy and delicious. My son got snickerdoodle which tasted exactly like the real thing! The staff is friendly and the ice cream is amazing! I wish this Sandy location had the French Silky Pie like the Cottonwood Heights location. It might not be called French, but it's something silky Pie and the amount of crushed graham crackers in each bite is perfect.

My favorite was the chocolate malt. The staff was very friendly and quick to get us through. Handel’s ice cream is the best in the Salt Lake valley! I like the rich creamy texture of the ice cream. They have many flavors to choose from and it doesn’t disappoint. The serving size of the ice cream is very generous. My favorite is the banana cream pie ice cream. Tastes just like banana cream pie! The store is very clean. The owners are friendly and welcoming! I would give them 10 stars!! but google only allows 5.

The ice cream was delicious, but very unprofessional staff. When I order my ice cream the young lady kind of sighed at me and didn't say another word. Then proceeded to chat with her fellow coworkers, and when I checked out the young lady showed no interest in being in conversation with me. She had no customer service attitude to her at all, and I felt sort of a burden to her. The only reason why I am not giving a lower rating is because the ice cream was so good.

This place was actually really good! I hadn’t been here before and saw it when I looked up ice cream and figured I would give it a try. I originally ordered a double thinking 2 scoops but the lady was nice and informed me a single is like 2 and a half scoops so I switched. Didn’t even finish it but it was good! The workers were really nice and will go there again for sure!

The best ice cream ever! Everyone kept talking about how good Handel’s ice cream is. I thought I would like it, but I had know idea how amazing it was going to be! I found out the reason it’s so amazing is they make it in store fresh everyday. I went on a Saturday night and there was a giant line. I thought I would be there forever. The staff was so great at keeping the line moving quickly while still being friendly. It took no time before I had the delicious graham central station ice cream cone in my hand. Mistakes were made. I ordered the Monster shake and though amazingly good.... it was a beast of a shake. The flavor choices are broad and the menu is simpler than other ice-cream shops. I may return after the memory of the shake fades away.

Simply the best tasting flavors. We've been there 3 times so far and it's packed every time. I'm sure it will just get busier when Winter ends and the warmer weather appears. The biggest negative is that there is no seating at all. I really liked the Coconut Cream Pie, but it's not there now; must be seasonal?

Let’s start with the good. Service. Flavor. I m the guy born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. Grew up on Handle s. I gave a good review last time on the Snappy Turtle. The absence of the chocolate pecan was alarming but I enjoyed the snappy turtle. Basically chocolate pecan with caramel. I have had it at least 6 times...the last time being today. My first review it was excellent. The last 4 out of 5 I tasted no caramel and maybe a cpl pecans. I had to add my own. I told the owners to keep the pecans plentiful and it would be up to the standards I was used to growing up. Unfortunately the majority of the time this has not been the case. Not sure I can say that this franchise will keep itself at the level that’s any better than any of the other ho hum ice cream parlors in the same neighborhood. If they aren’t going to make it right then take it off the menu.

We went to Handel's for the first time the other day after seeing an ad on Instagram, and this place is SUPERB. Best ice cream in Utah imo, and I am excited for their new locations to open up. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the menu is great (but easy to read unlike several other establishments in the state), and the ice cream is really unique and creamy. My only critique is there is no indoor seating. 5/5 do recommend.

Not sure of what to expect, except getting ice cream, we went to visit for some instead of a regular lunch. Upon entering we found out all product is made on site, they have over 100+ flavors in their repertoire, but usually have 30+ available at any time. He asked if we wanted to sample anything, which we did, but were most surprised when asking for a single scoop on a waffle cone, we were presented with a cone that was 4-5 above the edge as well as some compacted into the cone. Delicious product and VERY generous portions that are even stated on their posters inside. This place deserves your business!!

I’m on the fence. I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur and go to the best ice cream joints in every city I visit. For me, the experience is equally as important as the ice cream. The ice cream was delicious and they offer many unique flavors. The texture and consistency of the ice cream was spot on and every bite was packed with goodies. They aren’t skimpy on the serving size either! They make it in house and you can definitely tell (I heard another employee mention it to another customer, sadly the person helping me wasn’t very friendly or descriptive of the flavors when I asked about them, especially since it was my first time). I’d heard so many good things about this place, so I couldn’t wait to try it. I hadn’t even looked up photos or looked on yelp, so I was walking into it blindly and blind is how I felt because there were two things that really bothered me about Handels: 1. You can’t see what you’re ordering so you have no idea what the ice cream looks like. Is it chocolate base? Vanilla base? Unless your try alllll the samples, you’re ordering blindly and not confidently. The ice cream is hidden behind the counter in freezers that do not have glass on them. For a company who offers so many different and unique flavors, how on earth are you supposed to know what to order if you don’t even know what you’re looking at? Not great for the customer experience or the indecisive person. I ordered the most popular item, the graham central, it did not disappoint! However, the menu provides no description of the ice cream either, and if you don’t have a helpful server like I did, you’re just ordering hoping it’s a good choice. But then looking at your neighbor who ordered something else guessing what they got and if you made the right choice. Yes, they offer samples and a sampler scoop is on the menu, but still! Have better descriptions or photos of the flavors maybe? 2. Lack of seating. There is absolutely no where to sit! Half the experience is sitting down and enjoying your ice cream. It’s cold in Utah for about 6 months of the year so the only place to enjoy your extra large serving of house made ice cream is standing in the small space or in your car. Now if you have kids? Forget about it! I’ll be enjoying this place in the warmer months where we can eat outside. I walked away enjoying my ice cream but also disappointed that my experience was cut short. I’ve been waiting for a delicious ice cream joint to make its way to Salt Lake. Handels could have been so promising, but it just didn’t check all the boxes. It did check the most important box of delicious ice cream tho! Now, these two cons won’t keep me from going back to Handels again, but it’s not my number 1 favorite place because it didn’t offer the complete experience. If I’m going out for ice cream, I simply want somewhere pleasant to enjoy it too. Not to feel rushed out of there because it just doesn’t taste as good eating it in my car or on the go. This place will be perfect on warmer Utah days, but not in the thick of winter.

This place has been such a big hype. I have been hearing about it and following on IG. I finally made it in. I was excited to come with my 4 year old and have him see all the ice cream so he can make his own selection. I was a little disappointed in that you cant see the ice cream flavors. I had to just make a choice from the list of flavors. The ice cream was good, no arguement there. But, there is zero sitting space, so me and my son had to eat our yummy ice cream in the car, which was also kind of lame.. Maybe I'll come in the warmer months.

Ordered the Monster Extra Thick shake and the person helping me probably got a forearm cramp from all the ice cream they had to scoop to make it. It is certainly not a one person or one sitting shake. I shared and still hurt myself putting this down. Oh so good though. The pain was worth it. 😁 Be warned that the large straw enables you to get brain freeze. Never had that drinking a shake before.

This place is perfect for an ice cream gu-roo. You can try several flavors, and if any of the 48 flavors don’t fit your fancy (try me, you’ll find at least one), come back to try any of their total 150 flavors. On the textures: cream based are thick and the flavor actually stays on the tongue for a bit (which I like), so it’s very savory. (I haven’t tried the other kinds yet.) On the workers: focused- if we hadn’t had the manager helping us we may have had a teenager who mainly focused on getting us the product and getting on the the next guy, the manager was top notch giving us advice, history and being patient as we were bambooseled by the list of flavors. On our first trip we tried 4 flavors on the spoons and got their sampler- having 8 scoops of different flavored ice cream. If you have a big group, go in and get samplers. Your mouth will love it.

We tried the four scoop sampler - monkey business, chocolate chunk, spouse like a house and chocolate peanut butter cup. The chocolate chunk is grossly misnamed, a dark chocolate ice cream with only a couple of chocolate chips in it. The other flavors were good though the ice cream has a different texture - creamy but kind of like frozen pudding.

I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio (where Handel's comes from) and would have Handel's on a weekly basis! Moving from Ohio, that was one of the hardest things to leave behind and one of the first thing I get when I go home to visit. I was beyond excited when I saw it here as it tastes just like home for me and is simply amazing. For the Cafe Rio lovers of Utah, imagine moving to the east without Cafe Rio, and then they build one by you! Amazing flavors, big portions, and perfectly priced. I would highly recommend Graham Central Station and get a quart to yourself.

Actually love this place. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is due to the complete lack of seating. There is zero inside seating, so you must eat outside, which is fine, but they literally don't have any patio tables and chairs of their own. The only available seating is the sparce and uncomfortable benches provided by the development. GET SOME patio tables and chairs. Come on!!!
