ice cream attractively served in a fresh waffle. interesting. on top you get toppings that are, ahem, top notch (abundant fresh berries anyone? mochi bits on top of green tea ice cream? both? yes!) for me, the waffle while good is a bit much, quantity-wise. almost hard to eat the whole thing, but definitely worth trying — maybe it’s your thing. they have vegan (coconut) options for some ice cream flavors, and a gluten free waffle also.

The food is amazing and there are incredibly delicious options that are gluten and dairy free. I haven’t had such a tasty dessert in ages. The pictures are mostly from other members of my group and are not the gluten free dairy free versions, except for the mango one. That one is gluten free and dairy free. Everyone in our group loved what they got.

After a meal on Wickenden. We drove over to try this ice cream that was near by. I am rarely bowled over by Ice Cream these days. They for the most part seem very much the same. Yet Kow Kow us on another level. Both the freshest ice cream, fresh fruits, and all wrapped in freshly made waffles. These Waffles are offered in an assorted selections. along the most amazing toppings, and take-home selections. Do not bother with what you think is the best. The only thing to exceed all I have mentioned are the ladies behind the counter. They're waiting for you now! Drive over the Kow Kow, you will not be disappointed!

Cool little ice cream shop in Fox Point. They have a good amount of options, and you can mix and match ice cream flavors with different styles of waffle cones for plenty of combinations. The waffle cone itself is the real star here, as they are all made to order and are so soft and fluffy! It goes great with the ice cream and toppings, which are always presented very beautifully. While you will spend about $10 on a cone, it will definitely fill you up and leave your sweet tooth satisfied.

Yes, their cones are visually appealing. But the ice cream can stand alone too. A friend and I shared a one scoop cone and it was enough to satisfy our after-dinner sweet tooths, and I said, "I would buy a pint of this." This was about their death by chocolate ice cream (clearly would recommend). They also offer plain cups, other toppings, and have a vegan/gluten free cone option. Accessibility-wise, it is located on the ground floor. There is no indoor seating, but there is a very cute outdoor seating area with string lights when the weather is right.

Kow Kow is without a doubt my favorite new ice cream discovery to hit Providence. Let’s start with what sets them apart from everyone else shall we? The CONE. Oh my goodness. Imagine a freshly made Belgian waffle but with the texture of bubble wrap. It is quite possibly the best remix on a cone that I’ve ever had. I went with the original waffle but they also have chocolate chip, matcha, and vegan/gluten free options available. The week I went, Kow Kow was serving up black sesame ice cream made by Big Feeling. I’ve always been obsessed with the rich toasted goodness that is black sesame and it’s almost impossible to track the flavor down in New England. It was everything I imagined it would be and more—smooth, creamy, dreamy perfection. I wish they had this flavor available all year long, but you can follow them on IG to see what new flavors they have each week!

Delicious! Loved the different toppings and flavor combos available. I had the mini mochi (delicious!!) and blackberries on graham ice cream. So tasty! They are large though - even the one scoop had me stuffed!

Kow Kow is the best ice cream place in Providence, hands down! Their bubble waffle cones are so fluffy and unique but they don't stop there. The quality of ice cream is so thick and creamy while pilling on the toppings too. I have had the graham canyon which is my ultimate favorite but the cone pictured is the cookies and cream. It has cookie crumbles, oreos, and a hazelnut drizzle. YUM YUM YUM. There is a parking lot of 2 spaces, the parking is pretty much wherever you find space on the street. They also just added a cute outdoor seating section! Kow Kow can also be vegan and gluten free if that is necessary. Please give them a go if you are in Providence. It is even walkable from downtown on a gorgeous summer night.

Delicious warm waffle cones made fresh with a great selection of flavors. The servings are definitely on the larger side, even a single scoop is a very filling dessert, I would say go easy on the meal you eat before this or save some room to make sure you can enjoy (though kow kow does have takeout cups with lids and spoons)Heavily suggest the usual here . I have had Kow Kow a few times in the past, they started as a cute little food truck and it is great to see that they have a full on store now. They stay open during winter now which is awesome too!

Unbelievable warmed different flavored lg waffle cones, packed with ice cream & toppings. $8.50 & so filling. Its like eating a meal. Fresh fruit toppings & the chocolate chip waffle cones have pieces of chocolate in it. Omg!

Took my friend here for his birthday and I definitely was not disappointed. The staff was incredibly sweet and so helpful! I love that they have soooooo many options and can accommodate for dietary restrictions and allergies! I definitely recommend this place if you want some ice cream with a cool spin! The ice cream cones come out so pretty it’s almost a shame to eat! But they are also as delicious as they look! Yum yum!

The waffles are delicious. Got the Oreo Factory and the chocolate drizzle combined with the ice cream not only looked good, but tasted fantastic. Also appreciate how they have free substitutes for those with food restrictions. The one downside is that they only give you one scoop of ice cream, despite that it costs >$9 but the waffle makes up for it.

first time having a bubble waffle and it met my high taste and aesthetic standards! i had the graham canyon which was great. The workers were quick and efficient in assembling the dessert although I did not go at a peak time. it is quite filling so beware!

I love these wild ice cream places. This place reminds me of Helado Taiyaki with its own little twist. The flavors and toppings were flavorful and fresh. There are plenty of options, not only in regard to flavor, but also when it comes to dietary restrictions. I was very happy with this place. As others have said, the waffle can be a bit much, but no one says you have to eat it all... you should though!

Dessert for a whole meal? That's what you're in for at Kow Kow. The portions are huge! If you're gluten free or vegan there are options, though there is the chance of cross contamination. If you aren't worried about cross contamination with gf/vegan options definitely call ahead as they aren't always available. Check on their Instagram for specials + in case they close early. Their social media is very updated.

Summary: Kow Kow's own ice cream is very bland. Get the specials because they usually use a local third party that's much better and has more exotic toppings. Serving size can be hit or miss. Get a flavored waffle because the normal one is too plain. Their specials are wonderful, offering interesting combinations of toppings and ice cream. However, their own ice cream is usually more on the bland side and the toppings can be miniscule (specials usually have their ice cream sourced from another scoop shop). This is made up by the large bubble waffle which is a nice texture combination with the ice cream. I do wish the bubble waffles offered a bit more flavor as well however. Price is $8.50 for one scoop of ice cream in the waffle, sometimes it's big, sometimes it's small. That's a bit high compared to other scoop shops. A takeaway is that while Kow Kow does have amazing specials, they even sometimes donate to various local organizations unlike other shops.

I love Kow Kow! I have been going since they were a food truck on Waterman Street and even chipped in to help them on Kickstarter so that they could open their own brick and mortar shop on Ives Street. The owner is Laos and I love seeing how she has brought some of her own culture to Providence in one of my favorite desserts, ice cream. I really only get the same one thing every time I go there, but I enjoy seeing their variety and limited edition specials. I believe they also offer gluten free and vegan options from time to time. Their ice cream is also from Warwick Ice Cream, so I’m glad to see they are keeping it local. I have noticed they help in coordinating food drives and other events for local nonprofits, which I find great that they are finding ways to give back to the community. Their work culture also seems great from how they take part in team bonding experiences. Overall, Kow Kow has great food, great values, and I recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a sweet treat in Providence!

Great ice cream place. Essentially there are four-five options. Once you make a selection all the supporting ingredients come with it. You also choose the waffle type. Huge portion, excellent taste, friendly energetic and young staff. You can eat outside on nice benches.

DELICIOUS! BEAUTIFUL! FUN! This spot started from a food truck and deservingly earned its place in the heart of fox point because of the quality they put. The ice cream is locally sourced and very tasty, which alone already commends respect. The waffle options include dairy free and vegan, which my friends truly appreciated. Yes, the price is high, but this is an experience that you treat yourself to. I am in loved with the Oreo factory on a chocolate chip waffle cone. Oh and the waffles are just wonderful. All in all, pay them a visit, but don’t have too much to eat before because these puppies are filling!

The staff is super friendly and everything was delicious! The line might have been long at the moment (they are training more people to keep up with demand this week) but it was worth it. The bubble waffles are still warm when you get them and the toppings/ice cream are generous. We got a Lil Rhody and The Usual and my youngest got a plain waffle and vanilla ice cream. My 12 yo old said the strawberries were so good and fresh. We wished we'd skipped dinner!

Kow Kow is AMAZING and I have always been floored by their quality, flavor, and attention to detail. I have a very fatal nut allergy and this is the first place I've ever gone to that asked me right off the bat if I had any allergies, rather than expecting me to tell them. (It’s 2021, why can’t I upload a video of my ice cream with my review? LOL) I went to their store front location and it was amazing! Got there and there was a line out the store and half way down the block yet the line managed to move at a decent place. Nothing that made you want to complain or consider leaving. The store is super cute! Small, not a place where you can sit and enjoy your treat but it’s really cute! And I want to point out that there was one cashier and three staff making the ice cream yet they worked fast and seem to be enjoying themselves despite the large amount of customers. The ice cream was excellent. We each got 4 different ice cream, I tasted all of them and they were all tasteful. My favorite; death by chocolate! The waffle was superb , would not mind having just the waffles to eat.

I’ve been following Kow Kow for a very long time but never had a chance to visit. I made a trip down from central MA to see what everyone’s been raving about on social media. All I can say is wow... they really live up to the hype. When I arrived there was a line but I was surprised to see how quick it was moving. They were very safe with covid protocols. There were many people in and out but the shop still remained super clean. But now to the best part, my girlfriend got the “Strawberry Shortcake” and I got “The Usual”. Let me tell you the waffles were perfect, I don’t think I could compare it to any other waffle I’ve ever tried. The toppings and ice cream worked wonders with each other. I usually don’t ever leave reviews but this place has been on my mind for weeks after. I recommend Kow Kow to my aunt and now we are having them cater an event for us. I can’t wait to visit again! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone for any occasion and any time of the day!!

Truly an amazing and creative establishment. Not your typical ice cream parlor. Find them on social media for pictures, live updates, and more. For anyone with a sweet tooth, this place is a must. ATMOSPHERE: What started from a food truck to now a storefront even during a pandemic. Limited people inside, cleans outdoor tables often, and follows safety protocols. Outdoor tables are available but limited. FOOD: The variety that is available all looks amazing but I cannot venture away from my favorite milk & matcha. They allow you to customize as you please and reasonably priced. SERVICE: The staff and owner is super friendly which makes it even better. Please be aware storefront just opened so don’t be surprise if you see a line out the door. It’s worth the wait. It’s unfortunate Evan didn’t get the chance to see what the hype is about. If not mistaken, the old location to new location is around the block (3 minutes to be precise) . Will be returning for sure. Wishing Kow Kow the best.

Egg waffles used to be a guilty pleasure for me when I visited Hong Kong. They are a yummy treat and this place definitely does them justice. 10/10 The workers are CHAMPS dealing with just terrible people, long lines, and the fast pace. The line is long, yes, they JUST opened. People need to have a little more patience. I also read a review saying the ice cream was “bland”... I’m sorry but I don’t think that word can even be used to describe ANY ice cream. This place is great, friendly, photogenic, and delicious. :) I’m glad so many people are “fooled” into liking ice cream. 🤙🏼

Unbelievable. I would have taken a picture to post here, but I was so overwhelmed by the magnificence of my cone that I didn't even think of it. Beautiful. Tasty. Warm and cold. The cone actual waffle, not just that crunchy waffle cone. And you can get chocolate chip, matcha, and idk what else so the cone is just as much an experience as the icecream.
