I recently went here and tried their Tufting workshop in which you get free ice cream after and it was amazing! It was really cool to pick my design we wanted ahead of time and make it come to life! The staff was very accommodating and made the tufting very beginner friendly! Not to mention the ice cream was amazing! I had the Maria Maria and I could probably eat it every single day! You’ve got to check this place out!

Best ice cream I’ve ever had. It looks beautiful and it tastes amazing. Style and execution done right. Then you get down to the Taiyaki cone (fish). It’s a hand baked amazing pastry. The Taiyaki cone slaps every other ice cream I’ve ever had. It’s so good it makes you wanna SLAP YOUR MAMA! In fact, if the only way to purchase a Taiyaki ice cream was to slap your mama, I’m sure they would still do great business. Luckily, they take credit cards. So you don’t have to slap anyone. Unless you want to, and that’s none of my business. Sooooo. Yeah. It’s damn good. I will go back 100 times. 🍦🐟🏛

Beautiful establishment, great music, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I attended the tufting class. You get the option to pick the art you want to tuft. Very fun date night idea. Everyone was so attentive and helpful throughout the entire session. I had the Maria Maria cone. A vanilla based soft serve with Goya Maria cookies and graham crackers. So yummy. Make sure you stop by and support.

Ice cream was great and toppings were on point, the overall experience was worth once or twice but the price point was steep 9$ for an ice cream. Understandable however due to being near the federal hill location and rent it High. One recommendation I would note I’s always ask for a cup as the ice cream drips and melts very quickly and if the shop had a water station that would be ideal (wash hands and drink a cup of water) FYI street parking only If you found my review helpful please give it a thumbs up

i always wanted to go my friend was bragging to me about it must say, never thought i would love green tea ice cream.... such a fan now also love their fish comb, it was like a pancake with some crunch (well the one i had) and prices range 5-8 with a build your own comb its between this and kowkow that i want to take my niece and nephew downside its super crowder and parking is tricky. Scooting is the best bet, or ubering also the place gets super packed, and no wonder, its really tasty and the artistic designs of the place is on point.

Love this place! Have been going for about a year now. Tried the spooky Halloween designs and they were great too. I wish they offered the guava-and-cheese-filled taiyakis year-round because they're delicious! Definitely a place to check out!

I've been absolutely dying to finally try this amazing looking treat. Finally, this beautiful afternoon I was able to get it...and believe me, it tasted 10x better than it looks!!! If I could double the star rating, I would!! I had the weekly special but was able to swirl the ice cream to have ube too! It was creamy, smooth with the extra nostalgia of Fruit Pebbles! THIS IS DELICIOUS AND DONT YOU DARE THROW AWAY THE CUTE FISH SHAPED CONE! It's crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. So good!!! Nearly turned around to get another one.

Such a cute little spot! Everything was soooo tasty. The staff was very kind and helpful with allergies. My partner mentioned it was on a pricier end, but I countered saying everything FRESH and hand made!! That is so worth it as a nice treat!

Amazing taste! Kind staff and the place is super cute inside. Love that you can customize your treat. The ube ice cream was insanely good and the taiyaki cone is soft and absorbs all the flavor! Recommend drinking water or coffee with this treat because it is SWEET.

Love, love, love this place. Not only is the ice cream and fish cone delicious the atmosphere is so aesthetic and the toppings are so fun. My daughter loves it there , we are definitely regulars. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating. Oh and let’s not forget all the cool different flavors they have as specials. I strongly recommend so worth it .

Never had taiyaki, so wasn’t sure what to expect, but I did not leave disappointed. The focus of this place is the cone, which is the taiyaki. The ice cream itself is nothing special, just soft serve, although they have unique flavors you won’t find elsewhere like matcha and ube. The taiyaki itself was delicious. They are all freshly baked, and have a texture that is more chewy than crunchy. When the ice cream melts it soaks some of it up and takes on the flavor. The filling is a bit lacking, but still a unique cone that you won’t find elsewhere. Their menu has some good flavor combinations and you also have a build your own option. The toppings are good (love that they have Maria cookies!) but they’re a bit stingy with them, especially compared to the amount of ice cream they give you. Prices are a little high in my opinion, but not out of line for being on Fed Hill. It does get very busy, so I would recommend going early to beat the crowds. A word of advice, don’t come here and get a cup. You get a mini taiyaki with it but it’s definitely not going to give you the same delicious taste as the cone version!

really cute space and concept. I was on a "health and detox" kick when we visited so I ordered the matcha flavored icecream and it wasn't my favorite. I'll definitely order something sweeter next time. I will say the size is way too big for one person to finish, so definitely consider sharing it with another person (or two). I'll skip the unicorn sprinkles too as they were definitely too difficult to chew and eat. they introduce new flavors often so I'll be keeping my eye out and waiting to drop by for a second visit soon. the first visit was definitely Instagram worthy though 😁👌🏽

I got the Ube ice cream it was okay. For the price, there wasn’t anything special about it. I wouldn’t come here very often. My boyfriend got the vanilla ice cream flavored (not shown) and he didn’t think it was worth it. We paid 17.28 for both. When considering other options in the area there’s no reason to go here.

Being from NYC I had some slight reservations about the quality of taiyaki to expect, but honestly it was amazing! The taiyaki was so fresh even toward the evening, you could smell a batch fresh out of the oven as you walked in. And the soft serve - I got the matcha - was the perfect consistency that I love in ice cream! Where it's just frozen enough that it holds up and keeps its shape - a little more icy than creamy. Loved it! It might have been the best food I got on my whole trip to PVD

I found this gem ice cream spot located on Federal Hill in Providence Rhode Island by coincidence. I can’t say enough about the amazing ice cream which is so creamy and not overly sweet. I had the vanilla flavor with Dulce leche drizzle and guava and cheese inside the hand-made waffle cone. It came with a Maria cracker and the combination of flavors were wonderful. The shop is also tastefully decorated there are beautiful murals on the walls and a big window facing the street making it very relaxing. Make this your next summer experience. You won’t regret it!

Excellent service, tastes great, good price, and there was some existent parking nearby. I got the Oreo flavored, and I can't complain. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely drop by. Had enough seating, just keep in mind that as I was leaving they grew to a line out the door and then some. Definitely need to try making Taiyaki myself for when I'm not in the area though, because they got me *hooked*.

The Brown Sugar Cinnamon Oat Taiyaki and Ube Taiyaki are a must try. I usually get it in a cup with the cone on top, it’s not as pretty but it’s definitely a lot cleaner and more manageable to eat.

Y'all, this ice cream is GOOD. I have a dairy intolerance and one of the ladies working helped walk me through what ingredients were vegan. They even made a vegan taiyaki fresh for me! The brown sugar at milk soft serve was one of the best things I ever had - it tasted like cinnamon toast crunch. Yum!

Worth a trip but not sure about being a high repeat customer- it's a bit of a drive for us and parking is always difficult on Federal Hill. The taiyaki cone is a must, and any one of their pre-arranged offerings is ideal (though you could build your own). It's made freshly, quickly, and deliciously but I'm not sure the novelty is enough to get me back. You won't be disappointed but once you've had it do you need to go back?

This was the best Ice cream place I’ve ever been to in my life no exaggeration. I love everything about it. If you are debating going to any other place than this one don’t. Ask for a vegan fish and they’ll make it special to help you out! Very cool place and wicked delicious!! Edit: Never seem to be open as scheduled. Advertise online for 4-8 on Wednesday and Thursday, but on that day, they will change it to closed.

Totally awesome and worth a trip. They do sell out of flavors (usually the specials), but don't worry... EVERYTHING IS GOOD HERE. Great for kids and adults. Worth the price, worth the drive. Just go and try something. You'll like it. It is not take-homeable. this is definitely an eat it while you're there or on a walk around the neighborhood kind of place.

This place is pretty cool. The fish cone is a great and unique addition to our local gastro-scene. Their ice cream flavors are unique and well executed. For me personally, it was well worth the visit, wait and price to have it for the first time. I would definitely take friends who had never experienced the uniqueness of the fish cone. Definitely go if you've never had it, and you won't be disappointed. It is just my opinion that the charm and novelty can only go so far for returning customers. Northern RI has a few ice cream shops that I would probably consider before returning to Helado.

Perfect dessert after dining in the area, just a walk away from restaurants. It’s a vibe here! Family/kid friendly and very colorful! The Oreo Taiyaki is my favorite and all others are just as great!Keep an eye out on their really cool specials, you won’t be disappointed!

I really like the fish shape ice cream cone and poki stick that comes with the ice cream you order. It looks like a pretty popular place for a lot of the young people to go to. The ice cream is a bit on the pricey side but, I believe it's worth it. The ice cream is vegan friendly. If you're lactose tolerance or vegan it's perfect for you.

The ambience is really pretty cool. There were a variety of ice cream choices plus you can make you own. Although, the ice cream is soft serve it was definitely delicious. Also, I suggest especially on a hot weather, you indulge on it as soon as coz it can quickly melt on you.

I truly loved the taiyaki. it was beyond amazing. however, the atmosphere left a bad taste in my mouth. the music was extremely loud. i was sitting directly next to my friend and could barely hear him over the blaring beats. the staff seemed annoyed with us and the customers that followed. the menu was pushed at me and i felt rushed to decide. i asked a question and the cashier immediately said “what?” in an exasperated tone (i wonder why lol) i then watched as the same cashier kept checking their phone and subsequently rolling their eyes every time they had to put it down to assist the next customer. don’t get me wrong the ice cream is so worth the trip but, don’t plan on sitting down to eat inside.

Very tasty Ice cream! Recommend the xstrawdinary. It’s more of a creamy, milky vanilla flavor rather than the sugar filled kind. Expect more of soft serve with a pastry cone (there isn’t much filling) rather than classic taiyaki cone.

Literally my favorite ice cream place I've ever been to, and I don't even like ice cream lol. Their strawberry taiyaki is my favorite followed closely by the matcha and ube flavors (but all of them are perfect). Everyone should go here at least 10 times!
