Shop was clean and cute, the guy working the counter was friendly and helpful. Salted caramel was the BEST! nice and rich with chunks of caramel chocolate, I think, but not sure. Tables outside were comfortable, umbrellas to keep out the misting rain (or sun but not needed yesterday). I bring my dad here every Father's day.

Cute little ice cream shop tucked away in a neighborhood in South Portland. Limited street parking is available directly in front of their location. They have several picnic tables and chairs to sit at while you enjoy your ice cream. Really glad we found this little place on our recent trip to Portland!

If you are a local or visiting you NEED this ice cream. I am often a purist (boring) with ice cream but the creative flavors are amazing. My favorites are the coffee Oreo, Pb Fluff and the “Sunburn” is fantastic-strawberry ice cream with jalapeño I think?-just the right balance without anything too overpowering. I have to back up the shop here in defending the price raises-quality homemade ice cream is expensive (even without crazy inflation) as is paying for good labor-the staff/service is great. The portions are also generous and the prices are reasonable. I will always support local businesses and this one is a gem.

Indeed good quality ice cream. We found this place from Google map while visiting the town, tried four different flavors and they are all pretty good. I personally enjoyed the Chocolate with Sea Salt and Dark Roast Coffee. And their Blueberry Cheese Cake was pretty good according to my wife.

Gotta say.....GREAT ice cream. The mint has mint leaves right in it....very authentic. The salted caramel comes a couple of ways (chip, nuts) and is really excellent. Just great ice cream. The only BUT is the price....$6.00 for a one-scoop cone. I'm from Vermont and a pint of B&J is still $4.75. But we're here in So. Portland on vacation, so because of the price we went twice in a week rather than every day.

I've been enjoying ice cream from Willard Scoops for many years! As someone who adores ice cream, it's always been easy to recommend this sweet spot to others. All of this said, over the years I've become increasingly disappointed by the prices. Due to the exceptional quality of products, the pandemic, and the fact that it's a local business, I've been able to rationalize the price in the past but I don't think I can do so any longer. For the 2022 season, a Pint of ice cream is now $10.75 and 1 Scoop of ice cream is $6.

A great scoop at a reasonable price in a great little neighborhood in South Portland. My wife and daughter and I stopped in last week and enjoyed our ice cream at their outdoor seating. Definitely stop in if you're in the area.

My son and I drove over from Westbrook yesterday to try this place out. It was okay, but not as awesome as other reviews lead me to believe. My son ordered their chocolate ice cream which was actually pretty good, very chocolatey, like a frozen hot cocoa or a frosty. I ordered their strawberry ice cream - we have a thing for strawberry ice cream and one of us always orders it anytime we stop for ice cream somewhere - and, while it was good, it definitely wasn't as rich and creamy as Beals or Gifford's ice cream and no where near the awesomeness that was Catbird Creamery (we're still looking for a replacement; we miss you so much, Catbird!) Both had an average milkfat content, nothing all that special. If you're a fan of soft serve, you'll be disappointed here as they don't have it.

Great creative homemade ice cream at a reasonable price. In regards to comments about the ice cream being pricey, go to the store and buy fresh whole cream, sugar, milk, and other ingredients. Making great, real ice cream is expensive! Great job with the ice cream, my family loved it while we were in the area visiting. We just intended to try it once but ended up going back again because it was so good and there were so many flavors we all wanted to try!

While visiting family we stumbled upon this gem! I walked in feeling a little overwhelmed by all the amazing flavor options. The staff was helpful, kind, and patient with me and we walked out with delicious ice cream! Their blueberry flavor was the best tasting ice cream I've ever eaten and their coffee cookie ice cream was creamy goodness. I wish we had more time, I would have stopped again!!

THE BEST HOMEMADE ICE CREAM. More fatty than it is dairy. DELICIOUS! The coffee Oreo and cookies and cream may be the absolute best but they also have fun flavors like “Sunburn” which is strawberry ice cream with a habanero kick. Monkey Business is a good one (cruchy, banana flavor). Wild Berry is super yummy. You really can’t go wrong here. PLUS it’s a quick walk to Willard Beach. Who doesn’t enjoy ice cream and a sunset? Bonus: they have hot fudge cups to go. Also.. there are some reviews about the line and not enough employees- this is during COVID-19 so there is only one walk up window available and the line is outside. The service is wonderful. Don’t let those haters keep you from trying this ice cream.

Yummy! The Best Ice Cream Ever! Real pieces of candied Ginger in the Ginger Ice Cream. The Peppermint Ice has actual peppermint stick in it. Flavors Explode in you mouth. My only regret is I can only eat 2 scoops on a Waffle cone at a sitting.

Willard Scoops is the absolute best spot in the greater Portland area for ice cream. The salted caramel nut is sublime, especially as a hot fudge sundae with nuts and whipped cream. The interior of the store is on the smaller side, making things feel a bit too cozy during a busy summer day.

Try the hot fudge sundae. You won't regret it. Enjoyed it over salt caramel but can't imagine a flavor it wouldn't be good on. Bring your appetite - the portions are very generous.

The best! Just so you know, you can always ask for 2 flavors on a one scoop cone or cup, and on a waffle cone or 2 scoop cone, I guess you can go to more! Which is great, because deciding which flavors to order is not easy! They are out of this world delicious!

From a loyal customer: PLEASE hire more employees. Your product is fantastic, but having only one employee on staff with a giant line waiting outside is not fair for the employee, or good service to customers. People end up leaving without making a purchase because the wait is too long.

Its a very small shop in a quiet neighborhood The ice cream is very good . down side you have to pay with a credit or debit card only an then you can only tip in cash which is very confusing

Sea Salt Caramel is a little piece of heaven. All of their flavors are spot on and the owners are often in the shop. Willard Square is a small community-oriented neighborhood. Favorite part, Willard Beach is a short walk away!
