Every time we are in town, we make sure to come here. Every time, they are super friendly and helpful. They were even about to close and stayed around a few extra minutes so that we could get a last-minute sweet treat! The price is definitely worth the quality of the desserts.

Creamiest ice cream I've ever had. Definitely try the sea biscuit! The two scoop option is so worth it - you get two GIANT scoops. You can't even see the first scoop below since it's entirely covered by the second scoop.

This ice cream is so thick and rich. I have never had to chew ice cream before. I had salty caramel, others in my party had coconut chip and black raspberry. All were great. Wonderful way to end the evening.

Tried the Lucky Charms and the Blueberry ice cream! Both were fantastic but the blueberry really stood out, it even had real blueberries in it! May just be one of the best scoops of ice cream I've had!

They have a lot of good ice cream flavours, many of which are unique to the area. It's all handmade and they have a souvenir area inside too. The reason for the average rating is for price (very expensive) and atmosphere. If they removed some souvenir material they could do bench seating. However, they provide no eating area for patrons.

I stopped in because the owner gave my construction crew a free ice cream certificate to Sam's ice cream. I went in a week or so later got one of their homemade ice creams and it was delicious. I've not been since but I definitely intend to go back and I would recommend this ice cream shop to others.

My wife made me go here twice in one day. We kept getting kids size and sharing because all the flavors were amazing. My grandfather made home made ice cream when I was a kid. Having there ice cream reminded me why I'm always so disappointed when I get it from the carton in a grocery store. Y'all definitely have to stop here. Get a kids size. Go out to have dinner or for a walk and then come back again for second dessert. You're probably on vacation, just do it!

This is homemade ice cream, all made right in this shop (this is the only location) and it is excellent. Open year round. Try the Mexican hot chocolate flavor. They also have candies from Havens, a local chocolateer.

We make our own ice cream and haven't found any other ice cream shop as good as Captain Sam's. Our favorite is to get a quart of chocolate next to salty caramel. Simply the best!

Oh M G, Oh M G, OHHH MMMM GGGG. This is ice cream??!?!! My household is on a diet, until we bought some ice cream for my son, and we asked him nonchalantly if we could try it. Only to stare each other dead in the face, for what seemed like the longest five silent seconds, with shock and awe, of my eatery life. We had to --no control -- turn back and order ice cream for ourselves. The cream, in ice cream is- as I've found it- not only a delicacy, but a talent to master. AND get ready to taste the highest grade of cream in ice cream you've ever tried. I ate here gladly, it's a good thing this place is located far far away from me. Otherwise no gym would help, and I would find any excuse to the 'Capitaine's' daily. My son isn't listening go to Captain Sam's; my husband isn't doing the dishes, go to Cappi's house he''ll fix it; I need a quick bite, there is Capt. Sam's.
