My wife and I are regulars here. We rave about it to everyone who will listen. It might just be the richest, most flavorful ice cream I've ever had, anywhere. The hardest part is deciding which amazing flavor to put in your cup. You can pick only two. They do provide samples.

Gelato Dolce Vita is a quaint spot for amazing gelato. The selection was plentiful and free samples are offered. The staff are friendly and eagerly offer information on the gelato flavors & ingredients. After my first sample, my selection was made. It was immediately clear that I will need to go back to try other flavors. The price points are reasonable as well.

We just came back from a wonderful trip to Italy a few weeks ago and missed having gelato! We found this little Italian gem not too far from where we live and we will definitely be back again and again! Gelato was delicious and yummy! Lots of flavors to choose from! Staff was friendly with excellent customer service! Highly recommend this place!

I've been coming here for years, bring all valley visitors to this place. It's best in class, hands down. The Afogatto is a big favorite but I also love the caramel peanut flavor they sometimes have! Truthfully, you can't go wrong with flavors there. You've got to go!!

My boyfriend and I decided that we wanted to make pizza from scratch so being new to Gilbert Arizona I jumped on Google to look for Italian markets near me and found Dolce Vita and I'm glad we decided to shop there. It's a cute store with 2 sides to it one is there delicious homemade gelato store area and the other is there deli where you can buy everything from meats to pasta. Everything we purchased from here for our homemade pizza was delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

This is a small ice cream shop but they had many flavors to choose from. There was lots of seating and the place was nice and clean. The gelato is unbelievably good, I got the coffee and the stupidity flavors. I’m definitely going back to this place.

So beyond happy that we found this gem! Our first visit was last night for the BEST gelato I’ve ever had. We were so impressed that we came back today to try their paninis. And let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint. Also, the rainbow cookies are to die for, they just melt right in your mouth! This gelato spot is really amazing. It’s both a gelato spot on one side and a mini deli market with authentic Italian products. I was a little sad they didn’t have the tiramisu flavor but they change flavors daily so they had just taken out of the menu.

If I am mood for gelato this place is BY FAR my favorite. Best gelato in Phoenix, no joke. The chef graduated from the Gelato University in Italy and his flavor “Stupefy” is an award winner. My favorite flavors are, “Dulce de Leche” and “Crème brûlée “. I definitely recommend this place... believe me, you won’t regret it.

The location of this gelateria in NE Mesa,AZ could easily compete in any American city with Italian heritage neighborhoods. My double dare is Gelato Dolce Vita deserves a place at the least as a Top 10 location for gelato and sorbetto across the US. Walter Bergamaschi born in Italy returned to train at Carpagiani and earned his certification to bring Italy's sweet gift to the desert SW. Less than 5 minutes from the Falcon Field airport you could easily fly in and "chill" with best. The recipes show no hint of being Americanized with DQ or Baskin Robbins style flavors. If it were possible to add a 6th start to this review I would do it! Bravo and Molto Grazie to Walter for picking the corner of Brown & Higley in Mesa, AZ as the epicenter of gelato in the desert SW!😎😎😎

Best gelato in the valley. So many flavors to choose from! All smooth and REALLY cool, refreshing, and tasty! Half the store is an Italian restaurant and deli. Italian meats, cheeses, and cookies can be purchased by weight. Biscotti were very hard and not much flavor. Their lemon pistachio cookies were delicious! The vanilla and chocolate sandwich cookies were good but I preferred the lemon pistachio. Open til 8 PM most days. Open late till 10 PM on Fri and Sat

Best Italian food I've found yet and reasonably priced. Cute deli with good service, I was told their gelato is homemade daily When we were in Italy, we ate gelato everyday, the gelato at this sweet place is just as good. Highly recommend

If you have had gelato before but haven't had dolce Vita; I'm sorry to say you've never had gelato. This place puts every gelato you've ever had to shame. Stupify, their award winning flavor, is one of the best but they rotate many others out and you can always find something amazing. We always bring our friends from out of town here and whenever they come back in town they always ask to go back. Give it a try. It may change your life.

We have come for the gelato several times and it's always excellent. Very consistent product with inventive flavors, good service. When it's busy they have several servers so even if there is a long line it moves quickly you don't have to wait that long...it's worth the wait anyway. Flavors: Some of our favorites are "Stupify" (made with little bits of crunchy cookies), espresso, limoncello, hazelnut. You can ask for little tastes if you are not sure. You can ask for a smaller scoop of two flavors in one dish also. Very reasonably priced for authentic Italian Gelato.

Best gelato I've ever had. Excellent customer service too, my wife and I are constantly coming back to this place. Prices are actually really reasonable too. I love the 1 star reviews whining about the prices, try getting gelato up in Scottsdale or Cave Creek/Carefree. You'll pay at least double what this place charges.

This neat little gelato shop is delightful! There was close to 20 flavors to choose from and it was no problem to get a generous sample of several flavors! They also have a card to track your purchases and earns a reward after so many....and it's for each purchase, not each visit! I got 6 stamps on my first visit! Delicious flavor and the creaminess of the gelato made it perfect!

Best I have ever had. I suggest the espresso. It is so delicious. I also really enjoyed back then the peanut butter flavor but I did not see it. I hope they bring it back soon because I can't wait to tasted once again. Staff was of course so sweet and was not bothered by the amount of samples I had to do before I could decide on which one I wanted. They were so sweet and I hope that they stay there for a long time cuz they bring so much light into that stablishment. I still remember when it first opened it was just a small little shop and I was there on the grand opening. Now seeing how it has become one of the greatest places to go is remarkable and I hope they keep up the great work!!!!!!!

Hands down my favorite place to go to for a sweet treat. The environment has the exact feeling you'd want from a hometown Italian shop, with native Italian being thrown around and amazing customer service on top. And.. well... As for the gelato, I've taken over a dozen people here to get there opinions, and to share my experience with them. Every. Single. Person. Has said that it is the best frozen treat they've ever had. I Have to say I randomly came across this hidden gem. This place is cozy, Family friendly and a great atmosphere. Everyone in the store is with a big smile and very kind. The gelato here is authentic.It is a 35 miles both ways fr us but fully worth the drive. We as a family with 2 kids enjoys the gelato here. Not to mention the restaurant on the on the side and also they have gluten free pasta and other products.

I have been going here when they only had gelato and loved it right away. Everything is authentic and quality food. The gelato is super good. The deli has great sandwiches and pastas. I have a friend that is gluten free and can eat any of the breads and pastas with no reactions. All of the flour used is imported and not processed in the US. This is a small family owned business from an Italian family who takes pride in what they do. Unique and quality food that is hard to find in Mesa.

My husband took me here for my birthday earlier this month and it was the most wonderful treat. Did you know that where Ice cream is airier and has a higher fat content, that gelato is softer and is more condensed with flavor? Why settle for icecream? When you could have this yummy-ness?

This place is a bit of a drive, but worth it. It's the closest place I could find for real Italian Mascarpone and lady fingers from Italy. While I was there, I also had the tuna salad. Delicious! I didn't try the gelato because I'm allergic to one of the ingredients, but the owner told me that if I call ahead, they can make gelato to order. What amazing customer service!!! I will definitely be back soon.

Not only was the many flavored Gelato's the best tasting, the small shop "old country" atmosphere was an added treat. My wife and I both give it 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Excellent! Our group of four people all had panini sandwiches at the deli for lunch, and then we all had gelato after. We all agreed that everything was great from the service to the food. I will definitely be going back and recommending it to my friends. I think it is well worth the 20 minute drive from my house, even though there are many other options much closer. Just an FYI, if it's your first time going and you sample some gelato and are planning on ordering some, save your spoon from the sample because they're the same spoons they give with the gelato orders, they just don't tell you that up front and a lot of people think the spoons are just for the samples only because they're small spoons.

If you want authentic real world Italian this is your place. We stumbled onto this cute little location when looking for gelato and we're very impressed. Then when grandson was diagnosed as gluten free found they had the best gluten free pasta around. They also ship in wonderful marinaras and vodka and all other sources of sauces from Italy. Their meats are frozen and shipped directly from Italy as well can't say enough good things about this place. Every time we've been there we've been joined by an Italian family next to us at a table. That must say something about how authentic the food is! If just getting gelato, service is very quick but we have found that if ordering food on the other side of the store you should be prepared for a decent weight because a small location and service can be a bit slow....but worth the wait.

This I am certain absolutely without question is the place that I visited after I took my family to the Phoenix zoo. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are excellent, as are the flavors. If it's Italian gelato, and other delicious things like tiramisu, or gelato espresso combinations, stop by this place today! I don't think you'll regret doing so. When we walked into this rustic Italian gem of a grocery store/gelato shop, and heard Walter, the owner's charming Italian staccato accent, we could have sworn we'd arrived in a quaint Italian village groceria. From the shelves lined with boxed pizelle cookies, pastas & jarred olives, to the cheese case filled with imported cheeses, and finally, our reason for making the journey....the gelato counter boasting tubs of colorful mounds of homemade gelato, we truly felt as if we'd be transported to Italy on an AZ staycay. LOL! We chose to fill the $18.00 tub with half strawberry and half dark chocolate gelato, which were delectable alone, but oh soooooo delightful together! The flavors tasted fresh and light; we could tell the ingredients used are of the highest quality. Planning on returning again and again to test all the other tempting flavors we've yet to get around to, so we can discover our next favorite mix.

Great gelato, and good service. The place is really small so there's limited seating and their flavors of gelato vary from day to day so you're not sure what they have. You can always probably find something that you really like, but if you're looking for something specific you might want to call beforehand to see if they made any that day.

Yumm!!! Although it is located in what seems like an empty plaza, this is definitely a must try! What I Ordered - Butter Pecan - Amaretto Both of the flavors were delicious! It might be a little too sweet for some people but it didn't bother me. I have a major sweet tooth!! :) Only complaint I have is that they limit you to only 4 samples per person. I really dislike the fact that past customers who sample and don't buy anything ruined it for others. :( I'm indecisive and I like to know my options before I settle!

Wow. Simply wow. I tried Gelato once in the Pacific Northwest and it didn't even compare to this establishment. That wasn't Gelato, but this is. Perfectly balanced and absolutely delightful. We tried the Coconut Gelato, the Pistachio Gelato and a Doppio. Pure heaven.

This is the Best Gelato on the Planet Earth and Beyond Period. Salted Carmel and Strawberry are my favorites but other flavors are just as wonderful. Very nice staff.

Come for the gelato, stay for the gelato. I challenge you to get a large and mix the flavors for the best combination. I kinda failed... Each flavor I ordered was amazing (especially the lemon) but they were beat enjoyed indivually. I'm sure if I go again I'll do a better job of choosing the right flavors!

3.75 stars! First time visiting Dolce Vita Gelato, although I've tried its gelati at Peixoto (2015 review) and at Paris Rendez-Vous (2016 review). I came today hoping I could get something to eat at the Italian market connected next to it, and then get some gelato and coffee to finish the meal, but no one was tending to the cheese and deli cases, so a snack will have to do. Was able to sample four flavors- "Stupify," DVG's Gold medal winner at Gelato Festival 2017 America; South African Dark Chocolate; Bourbon Vanilla (spied owner Walter incorporating it in a float!); and Mango; and went with Stupify and the dark chocolate in a medium cup ($4.29), plus a cup of Americano ($2.09). "Stupify" features "spiced cookie, nutmeg, and cinnamon" flavors and comes with a whole spiced cookie, but I had not noticed it in time for photo-capturing until it was too late! It had caramel ribbons on top, as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the South African Dark Chocolate! Ever-so-slightly sweetened rich chocolate, and just enough bitterness-- dark chocolate lovers who enjoy 70% or higher will appreciate this! The cup of Americano helped to keep the sweet flavors from overwhelming my tastebuds. Will definitely return to try more flavors. Now off to burn calories- my body is buzzing from the sugar and caffeine!

I have been a frequent customer here for the last 2 years. The food is fantastic! It seems like I'm getting a panini almost once a week. Everything is great from the bread, the cheese, and the meats. My go-to flavors in gelato are Dark Chocolate & Banana. That being said: Dolce Vits's Banana gelato was delicious. And while the Dark Chocolate was tasty, I prefer Frost Gelato's Dark Chocolate.
