VEGAN ice cream options! Although it was only like 3 or 4 it's Van Leeuwen! The ice cream is pricey but delicious. I ate the entire cup before I could take a picture! The staff were all super bubbly. I enjoyed the fast quick walk in and out service.

Of course, the ice cream is delicious! There were 2 people working when we were there. One person was making waffle cones and the other serving customers. It’d be great if there’s another person who could help at the register because we spent a while waiting to pay. Otherwise avoid the shop when the line is long if you can’t or don’t want to wait a long time.

We loved the vegan ice creams at Van Leeuwen !! Our toddler (who does not ice cream usually) loved their waffle cone with vanilla ice cream (single scoop). While we had Black cherry dip, pistachio and earl tea scoops. They were amazing ! I wish we had some more parking space in the downtown (but it is what it is.. )

Great ambiance and a lot of flavors to choose from. I had the pistachio and enjoyed it; very nutty with a nice amount of sweetness. Their flavors do seem to hang more on the sweet side. Don’t be afraid to ask for samples to try and see what you like!

Let me just say that I have been dying to try the Kraft Mac n Cheese Van Leeuwen ice cream for months. I probably would not have visited this location if it wasn't for them having this flavor in stock. Generally, this is a pretty standard Van Leeuwen – some of the NYC location are little more unique but it was really cool to get to visit one in Philadelphia. We visited around noon on a Saturday and there was no line but I imagine this changes in the afternoon and after dinner on weeknights. The Mac n Cheese ice cream was weird and I would not get it again, but I had to try and it and I'm glad I did. They did not have it on the regular menu so we had to buy a pint from the cooler and eat in the restaurant. I hope to go back and try some of their better flavors. This place has a pretty nuts menu. I have been eating their ice cream for years but the in person experience is definitely worth the trouble every now and then.

Delicious and unique flavors a including a few seasonal specials. The single scoops are huge. I particularly enjoyed the Earl Grey. The staff were very friendly and happy to make suggestions. There were plenty of vegan options on the menu too. I will definitely be back!

Grand opening for 1$ scoops! Friendly staff & delicious ice cream. Homemade waffle cone was amazing. Will come back to try all of their other flavors. Space is huge with plenty of table seating and bar standing areas to enjoy treats.

So yummy! The ice cream is expensive. $6 per scoop. But it is definitely a delicious treat. Got the earl grey tea flavor and it was absolutely delightful. Strong flavor but not overpowering.

Went here with two friends and ice cream connoisseurs visiting from Wisconsin. We were here on a Thursday night and the place was boppin'. The inside is beautiful and the smell of waffle cones fills the air. There are loads of flavors including a whole selection of vegan options. I went with the chocolate fudge brownie and was delighted with my choice. Even the smallest size gets you a lot of ice cream. So happy to see Van Leeuwen’s in town. We went on a busy Saturday evening during Philly’s vegan restaurant week. This place is new and the line can get very long. We were a bit disappointed that many of the vegan flavors were out upon ordering. I wish they updated the menu so that ordering at the counter would have been easier. Otherwise, there are many vegan flavors to choose from and vegan toppings as well. Allergies are clearly marked on the menu which is a plus. We really enjoyed the churro and pumpkin flavors.

We came here for a late ice cream treat. The staff was friendly and efficient. The ice cream portions were fairly large but needed to be because a double scoop was $7.50 which is the same price as 3 quarts at a grocery. The ice cream was very creamy but we both were disappointed with the lack of flavor. We could barely tell what flavor it was supposed to be. What 3 different flavors with the same lack of flavor in each one. If there had been more flavor in the ice cream this would have been a 5 star review, but sadly it is not. We feel like we can recommend this place, just don't expect a lot of flavor in their ice cream.

This ice cream is undoubtably good.You can get their ice cream in most frozen sections of grocery stores. I went on opening day and got a 1$ scoop as a part of this beautiful 3 scoop waffle cone. Despite this, a 3 scoop ice cream cone was 11$. You can get nearly 2 pints for that price without waiting in line. If you want the experience of going and sitting in an aesthetic environment while eating some ice cream, this place is ideal. If you want to enjoy a ton of ice cream, just buy a pint at the store! As an aside, one of the workers gave me a wrong scoop and kind of pressured me to take it anyways. Nbd because the ice cream was still tasty, but definitely fits the narrative of my experience lol

Loved the icecream. Very friendly staff. This place is super busy on weekends. Parking is a problem around this area so I would suggest be ready to pay for garage parking or use Uber.

This was my first and last time coming to this store. Although the ice cream was fantastic the service on the other hand was rude and short. Like I stated earlier this was my first visit to this store so I wanted to try a few flavors, and the two employees facial expressions looked like it was an inconvenience that 1. I came in 15 minutes before they closed and 2. Asked to try a few flavors and when they didn't have one of the flavors I asked the young lady to please hold on so I could call my fiance so he could change his flavor. Then I ordered mine and asked for extra extra sprinkles and I got just a normal amount. Neither employee smiled or Greeted me when I walked in or said anything when I left. . They were pure rude and ignorant.

Im a Brooklyn Native, and when I saw that Van Leeuwen opened a spot (now like 3?) in the Philly area I was ecstatic. They have some of the best flavors, and some great vegan and nut free options for my friends with dietary restrictions! Highly recommend!!

Really good ice cream, but you can't see the flavors! First time I've ever experienced that in an ice cream shop. Also they were out of coffee. The most unfortunate part of this place is that they are stingy with scoop mixing - so you can't get 3 flavors in a medium or two in a small or anything like that. So if you like trying multiple flavors, maybe go elsewhere. Can't say anything about the ice cream itself though, fantastic!

This place was packed on a Friday night around 9:30 pm. We waited in a long line and just felt sorry for the servers the entire time because they were working incredibly hard and didn't look like they were having fun. The flavor selection is fairly normal here with a few specialty flavor options. The waffle cones are the star of the show as they are handmade on the spot. Our server wasn't overly nice but I really don't blame them. It took at least 15 minutes to get up to the counter. There isn't a ton of seating but walking around the city in the summer with ice cream was a treat. Definitely recommend the cookie dough flavors. They were also out of the first three flavors my partner asked for.

The ice cream was creamy and satisfying but expensive. I was disappointed in the opening day advertising. I waited in line for 1.5 hours and got 3 scoops of ice cream just to be told as I was paying only that the first scoop was $1 and all others were full price. Not something I was expecting to pay $9 for.

Stopped in for the first time on a Sunday so it was a little busy but the service was great and fast. They answered questions we had, were patient with my niece's changing order and quick to offer up samples to make sure that she got what she wanted. Pretty extensive menu with flavors for everyone including a lot of vegan/non-dairy options! Will definitely be back.

Pretty busy on a Wednesday night, maybe because it is still fairly new. Good selection of unique flavors and vegan options. The special pumpkin cheesecake flavor was very good. Was told the ginger flavor had actual pieces of ginger in it. Earl Grey flavor also got a thumbs up. Didn't try the made-in-house waffel cone, but it looked and smelled good. Even with a long line the service was quick and friendly. There were also pints for sale (including "Mac and Cheese" flavor!).

I got the pumpkin ice cream. It was super delicious and very flavorful with varied textures in the actual ice cream. The staff were very friendly and kind and attentive. A lot of personalized customer service. I think my only issue is that the actual menu on the wall is so tiny it's pretty difficult to read.

Not sure why the line is soo long!! We waited in line for 25 minutes in anticipation of great ice cream. It was good but not great. They do have a bunch of vegan options which I assume is why it is so popular. I had 2 vegan flavors that were good but I'm not a vegan so I couldn't tell you if it was better than others. The regular ice cream flavors that we had were good, but not noteworthy.

I've tried scoop Deville, jenis and franklin fountain and I think this is the best of the four. Their original flavors are inventive and intuitive. If you are cone person, you HAVE to get the waffle cone. It is made fresh and it is amazing. I tried to PB brownie and it a rich and bold. They are basically a fresh better version of Ben and Jerry's. Their staff are as sweet as the ice cream they serve. Highly recommend.

There is a reason this place has a line out the door everytime i pass it. When you first come in the smell of fresh waffle cones being made hits your nose. They have a very interesting selection of ice cream to choose from. I got 3 scoops (earl grey, honey comb, and pb brownie) in a waffle cone. It was so good! Will be going back

SO I had no idea this place was THE place selling that Kraft Mac and Cheese ice cream. Unfortunately I didn't get to try it BUT they had many good flavors to try! They opened recently in Philly but they do have other locations, like in NY. Definitely recommend, their ice cream is very rich and creamy. They also serve vegan ice cream! I got to try their Brown Sugar Cookie Dough and Earl Grey ice creams. Be sure to go early because the lines can get long on the weekends!
