Reviews of John's Water Ice
Good water ice. Quite refreshing for a summer night. Original flavors are cherry, chocolate, lemon, and pineapple. Flavors taste a bit artificial.
The bar is set by lemon ice king of corona in nyc. While these are slightly different (looser and more watery, duh), they are clearly not as good.
Excellent pricing and good portions. Ability to mix flavors is appreciated.
The water ice is AMAZING. The fruit flavors really taste like the fruit not artificial flavorings. Get the mango if you love mango fruit. Pineapple was my second favorite.
You can get the water ice, ice cream, or gelati. The prices are very reasonable too — they’re not gonna charge you $5 for a scoop of ice cream. Do yourself a favor and go here for dessert!
Who would have thought chocolate water ice could be so perfect? Loved it so much we tried small cups of all four flavors! Incredible prices, too!
John's is hands down the best water ice. It's been around since the 40s for a reason. There are a lot of places that sell water ice but nothing like this. Love this place and how it hasn't changed that much in the 40 years I've been going there. You have to love a family run business that is a land mark for Philadelphia. Keep supporting local businesses
Cash only water ice spot into Queen Village. This place is great on a hot summer day in Philly!
Service is speedy quick, quality of the water ice and gelato is superb, way better than Rita’s water ice.
There is an ATM on site if you forget cash.
Getting water ice at Johns is a Bella Vista neighborhood tradition from April through early fall. You can get small, medium or large servings of water ice, ice cream or gelati (which is 1 scoop ice cream 1 scoop ice). Ask for a free taste of the pineapple -my favorite mixed with vanilla ice cream! It is cash only but there is an ATM right there if needed. The prices are very reasonable: we spent $9 + tip for 2 dishes of 2 scoops each. There is no seating, but John's neighbor around the corner offers their bench to sit and enjoy. Most head a block to Palumbo Park and enjoy their treats at the tables/benches there. There is not a huge variety of flavors (see sign), and their packaging isn't ecofriendly, but the staff works very hard and are friendly (Please tip them if you can!)
If you’re in Philadelphia and haven’t been to John’s then shame on you, it should be your palette cleanser after you have your first cheesesteak! If you think of Rita’s when you think water ice you’re in for one hell of a surprise once you try John’s! It’s nothing like those syrupy ices that they sling in the corporate chains! John’s only does 4 flavors (an additional couple water ices are made on the weekend as specials) and they do them right, fresh fruit, homemade. There ice cream may even be better than their water ice, they have it made to their specifications in Lancaster and its creamy, delicious and shouldn’t be missed.
Great seasonal flavors, regular ones, and the customer service never disappoints. Don’t worry about the line either…it moves fast. Cash only but they do take Venmo! Try the Gelati or the Waffle Cones! There are no wrong choices here.
Absolutely amazing! I loved their cantaloupe and mango flavors, both of which had real fruit bits in it. The cantaloupe water ice legitimately tastes like straight up blended cantaloupe. I also tried the cherry flavor and didn't care for it as much, but it was still good in a nostalgic kind of way.
The sign said that Sept 15th (today) was the last day of the season and they won't be back until April of next year, so when it's available again, I would recommend going and trying some of the flavors.
Had, from most to least favorite, chocolate, cherry, and pineapple water ice. No complaints, especially impressed with the chocolate and cherry. And I got to try all three for only $2!
Originally thought we'd try a popular chain ice shop but stumbled across John's and OMG I'm so glad we did!!! Pineapple was my absolute favorite...Not overly sweet but packed with so much flavor! Everyone that works there is SO NICE!
Great place, great ice! Lemon is my favorite. The staff is great and so is the product. It's cash or Venmo only, but there is an ATM on site. A Philly classic.
Best ice cream and water ice in Philadelphia.
The water ice does NOT taste artificial and too sugary.
Ice cream - they have great flavors. Favorite is the coffee chocolate chip!
I have been going to John’s for over 30 years. My husband and his family lived right down the street before the gentrification. My kids would love when We visit their grandmother and go get water ice from John’s.
A Philly classic and a personal favorite. John’s never disappoints. Even when there’s a line, you don’t wait more than 10 minutes- these people are QUICK and they don’t mess around. Cash only, and a limited selection of flavors, but they’re the best you can get! (Get the cherry gelati with vanilla!)
We were in Philly on Sunday, and stopped here to get a cold, wet treat. Their water ice is really good - made with fresh fruit. Within our group, we had their blueberry, strawberry, pineapple, and mango. All were really delicious, and you could taste the fresh fruit in each. Will definitely be returning to this little gem of a find.
I've been coming here since I was a kid and it still has the same great taste Cherry & Chocolate mix is my absolute favorite.
Classic south philly experience. Best value for ice cream and water ice in the city. Never disappoints. Always tasty.
We had the Johns Truck for an employee appreciation event. The service was great and both the water ice and ice cream got great reviews! I recommend!
Loved this local icecream shop. We had the combos - gelato and water ice😍 The canteloupe water ice was so yummy and fresh! One of the locals recommended this spot and it didnt dissapoint after a long day of walk on the streets of Philadelphia. Truly a sweet end to everyone s day! …
Cheap, quick, and refreshing. $2 for a small cup (12oz?) and $4 for a pint of water ice.
I had low expectations, but left really genuinely enjoying it. Big hit with peoples kids and the wife. Highly recommended
Yummy lemon is my fave! It's simple but has lemon bits in it, which I love. I've been coming to this same water ice store since middle school. Same consistent flavor and service. Thumbs up to both!
The best. Hands down. You get a lot for price, always a line but moves very fast. No chunks in the water ice which is key if you ask me. The flavors are sweet but not cloying. Had cherry ice and vanilla ice cream, absolute classic then on a second visit had mango ice and vanilla. Mango was less sweet. I want to go every day.
This place is an institution. You definitely need to visit and experience the water ice. The small is plenty, medium is great and I can't finish a large.
John’s is the best water ice in the entire world I can say. I’ve never been able to get the kind of water ice that John’s makes anywhere inside or outside of the Philly area. I literally visit a couple times a week during the season and always take away quarts to go along with a large gelati (ice cream and water ice together). They carry the finest ice cream I have ever had. I always grab a quart of vanilla ice cream and a quart of cherry water ice to take home for times when I can’t make it the shop. I look forward to having Johns every evening throughout the summer months. They have late hours and the people are awesome. It’s a Philly tradition and I hope they continue to provide their unique water ice and ice cream for a very long time to come. Nothing comes close. They also have something for everyone including ice cream in lots of flavors water ice in lots of flavors including lemon, cherry, pineapple, and lots of rotating flavors from watermelon to cantaloupe. The best!!! For the uninitiated, water ice is similar to Italian Ice, but generally is smoother and more flavorful and can only be found in the Philadelphia metro area. It’s a unique regional treat that is as unique to Philadelphia as the cheesesteak sandwich.
Whether you’re a water ice or ice cream fan, John’s has you covered. Johns is a Philly staple.
They always have a few standard flavors and then mix it up with some seasonal flavors.
But come hungry and be prepared to eat quickly! The scoop in the picture is a small!
I tried the lemon water ice and it was great. A small costs $2 and is enough to share with another person. The service is no frills and it’s a quick in and out transaction.
Very limited selection of flavors. It turns out the reason is because the limited flavors are AWESOME! some of the best tasting water ice you will ever have. BTW the staff is as good as the flavors. I've only been there twice, but both times it was a terrific experience. Just to note, this is a take out place. Similar to a stand. Get your ice and enjoy the nice area of south Philly, or take it to go.
I had heard so much about this place. We were going to stop a few weeks ago while we were in the city, but they were closed. We ended up in the city during the day and swing by. Honestly, the water ice is very reminiscent of Rita’s Watee ice. The differentiator for me was the ice cream. It was much more flavorful than you can get at Rita’s.
We frequented Rita’s on a weekly basis in NJ and were very excited coming to the “original” ice place and it didn’t disappoint! I loved my pineapple ice😋😋😋 …
Go now and get the gelati. Prices are cheap and portions are great. The staff is wonderful. Cash only. Don't let a line scare you away, as it moves fast.
Was looking forward to some Water Ice but tried the Vanilla-Peanut Butter Special Ice Cream. Huge chunks of PB
Highly recommend to try this local ice cream shop! Their “Raspberry Chocolate Chip” flavor is a must try!
The chunks of fruit I had in my water ice was a little tooooo much & please get Apple Pay Venmo is for the older people get with the times lol
Really good water ice, wish they had more variety. Still the classic flavors, and John's does them well.
The water ice here is everything. Made with real fruit so it's super refreshing. I also had their chocolate ice cream and it's was so incredibly creamy and good. 10 out of 10.
Come here for their Philadelphia water ice.
Enjoy it while visiting the Italian market or rest at Palumbo Park 723 Catharine St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
All I talk about is john’s water ice anymore. Make sure to check the truck’s Instagram for where they will be!
I've heard good things about this place so I was excited to try it for the first time ever since moving to Philly. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It wasn't the worst I've tried but, it was flavorless.
I got a medium cherry flavored ice. They're reasonably priced for the amount you get but I can't get over the taste..I had to throw mine away. Not sure how people love it, or maybe I got a bottom of the barrel bad batch. I dunno but I won't try it again.
I had a Gelati, which is water ice layered with ice cream in the middle. I chose the raspberry chocolate chip specialty flavored ice cream with the cherry water ice. It was absolutely delicious! I also got to try my husband's mango and pineapple flavors. Amazing!!
And to confirm, as an outsider, water ice is NOT a slushie or Italian ice. It's definitely it's own beast, more dense, more smooth, with richer flavor. And apparently, John's is the best out!
fast friendly service, cleanliness of the utmost importance everywhere you look. Product quality is all fresh and delicious. No chemical taste here. The ice cream was also good. The process can't be best. Go here. A lot. And give the lemon ice a chance. It tastes a little thin at first but you'll see why they did what they did when you're finishing the cup with the same excitement as you started. Trust me. 😁
The cherry tastes like cherry. Don't expect sugar red. Expect cherry. And prepare to order. The spotlight for you will have to be somewhere else. Very friendly very courteous but ya ain't hangin out. Thanks. Great stuff. Would it kill ya to buy a quart?
My dad and I’d favorite place. They have the best Italian ice in my opinion.
Dare I say this is better than Rita's, well I'm saying it. The mango has mango bits and tastes like mango. The chery taste like cherry not "Red juice". The ice cream is also delicious.
Their lemon ice is so refreshing on a warm summer day. Their smallest size is plenty for the price, but I wish they offered more seasonal flavors at one time.
CASH ONLY
I love John's they have the best Italian water ice in PHILLY. I've been going there for yrs and will not go any where else for water ice. A hot day this water ice will cool u off and relax u if u don't go to John's u r missing out!
classic, old school water ice. not syrupy sweet, but genuine flavors, done well, for a good price, and prompt and courteous service
The best I ever tasted. It"s worth the time if you don't live close to get there
Italian ice was very good (5 stars).. staff was average (3 stars- not rude but not friendly).
Tried their water ice from their truck at a special event today, and it was hands' down, the best I've ever tried (I've lived in Philly for about 20 years). Made w/ real fruit so each one tasted like its namesake.
One of the best water-ice and ice cream places in the City of Philadelphia. Ice cream and water-ice is homemade. DELICIOUS DELICIOUS !!!! Also they are still wearing mask. So happy to see this especially since they are servicing food and this is a small space.
What a gem. This is the best water ice in town. Small selection of flavors, but you know you are getting the good stuff. Cantaloupe and Mango are my personal two faves (Cantaloupe is only available a few times a summer, so get it if you see it), but Lemon is another classic.
This placd has great customer service. The water ice"s are tasty and flavored well.
The Only place in the city that makes their own water ice I've been going there for over 35years. I cannot think of South Philly and not think of John's
I swear it’s the Schuylkill punch that makes this water ice taste so good…oh yeah…it’s also the use of real fruit. Somehow John’s is able to make the flavor profile of lemon complex, yet darn right simple.
Best water ice in the on the tri state area. Fresh made and tast like the actual flavor without a artificial taste been going their now for over 35 years, and it has always been the best of Philly
Ahhh, hands down the best prices for water ice in S. Philly. Their ice cream is smooth and tastes slow churned like, straight from the farmer. Water ice is good too!
Chocolate water ice was vegan and delicious and not at all what I expected it to taste like.
This is where I get all of my wooder ice. They're fast, friendly, and fantastic!
Always look forward to when John's is open for the season! They Have classic and unique water ice flavors and their ice cream is also amazing. Just remember to bring cash ☺️
I finally made it here. Well worth it he wait. Best water ice. So smooth, RW is made of ice cubes in comparison. I tried strawberry and pineapple. Everyone should experience John's.
I tried the mango which was good. There water ice is more natural so if you are used to sweetness thru sugar this place is not as sweat as what you would get in a mom and pop or convenient store.
John's Water Ice is by far my favorite spot to stop for both water ice and/or icecream. They have a diverse variety of flavors for both types of treats. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. So happy they are open for the season(s) again!
The most tasty ice cream,os a classic visit, employee could smile and greet the customers, it will be perfect
A South Philly staple! Go there and you will know why! I would suggest ordering off the main menu as we didn’t like the seasonal flavors they offered. The gelati is nothing like I have tasted before and you can taste how fresh and homemade it is! Don’t even try to compare it to R***’s.
Phenomenal Philly water ice, in the heart of S. Philadelphia. The water ice is delicious, the service is good, and the location is convenient. Recommended: a cup of gelati consisting of vanilla ice cream on the bottom and chocolate water ice on the top. The combination, especially after it begins to melt, is divine. Relatively inexpensive, the water ice flavors are Cherry, Pineapple, Chocolate, and Lemon, and the ice cream is Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Butter Pecan, all using the same 1945 recipe, and only three simple ingredients, water, sugar, and fruit. Watch out for the weekly specials, there are one to two each week, and they are quite popular as well.
The gelatis are the BEST - they have different specials all the time so you can create endless flavor combos. The ice is not too sweet and so refreshing, ice cream is perfect and creamy. Cash only and affordable, perfect summer spot.
I go here every now and again when I'm feeling for some water ice and it always brings my mood up whenever I come! I dont know the place just feels welcoming to me, like I just want to sit on the side walk eating my water ice on a hot day like a little kid. Though they dont have as many flavors of water ice as a place like Rita's it sure does taste a lot better in my opinion.
By far, the best Water Ice in South Philadelphia. Pineapple is my usual choice but on weekends they make special flavors depending on what fresh local fruit is in season. Incredible ice cream flavors like Rasberry dark chocolate chip, as well. You must visit this place and Enjoy!
Has never change since my first taste in the 90's, now my baby loves it.. ❤️
Friendly services. I let them pick my flavors:) Taste was fresh. Next time I’ll try cherry and mango
Another fun adventure to a Philly staple. I got a lemon ice and vanilla ice cream gelati. My assessment: The ice was nice. The ice cream was lovely. The combination was nothing to write home about and while I thoroughly enjoyed supporting a local business (and you should too, to form your own opinion!) Rita’s more sugary ice and custard form a more superior blend. :)
Great water ice! They have 4 standard flavors and then special flavors on a white board. Their ice cream is hard packed and not soft serve.
Worth checking out.
Amazing! I love how simple it is with just 4 flavors to choose from. Taste was phenomenal. Just know what you want as the girls are no nonsense and have no patience for someone dilly dallying in line!
Amazing water ice. Not excessively sweet. The mixture of the strawberry ice cream and lemon water ice made for a fantastic afternoon treat. They have a specials board with additional flavors, but if the line is busy, I'd suggest knowing what you want based on the regular board.
Amazing water ice. Best in the city. I wish they had more flavors sometimes. Would love a rootbeer water ice! Pretty please!
I've loved this water ice for several years. Consistent & flavorful.
Best water ice in Philly! Go there and try it for yourself. I got the Lemon. Rita's water ice can be too sweet sometimes because they use too much syrup but John's uses the perfect balance!
South Philly natives will tell you this is THE best place for water ice in Philly. Water ice, for the uninitiated, is the local variant on Italian ice, a frozen dessert somewhat similar to sorbet. John's has been around forever and still serves the same four flavors chocolate, lemon, cherry, and pineapple. Try the gelati if you feel adventurous and eat dairy, it's a scoop of gelato with your water ice. They melt and combine and it's delicious.
Hands-down the best water ice joint that I've been to in Philadelphia. Rita's has nothing on this. The ice is super smooth and made with real fruit. I suggest that you opt for the largest size, because you just can't get enough. This is the best way to beat-the-heat on a hot summer afternoon. 😋 …
It's a neighborhood staple, a Philly classic, and for good reason. The water ice is delicious and refreshing, and the ice cream is of a surprisingly high quality. There's often a line but it moves very quickly. If you find yourself in the Italian Market on a hot day, do yourself a favor and grab a Gelati from John's.
Great water ice, great ice cream, all made in house with great flavors
Whoever's Live is better than ICE Cream, did not have their ICE cream moments here.
Neither have I had ICE cream @ John's ?
Dnid not tell you yet, but I enjoy a good bowl ICE Cream!
I'd you ever had paciugo non dairy ice cream, it's like that but a little more watery. Pineapple, lemon are our favorite. Chocolate is interesting. Cherry... depending on how much you love Cherry flavor.
This is a Philadelphia institution, with all the attendant gritty details. You got 4 flavors, bub. This ain’t no Rita’s. If you’re lucky there are additional flavor specials. But don’t count on it. Lemon, cherry, chocolate and pineapple. You got a problem with that? Get lost.
Every spring I eagerly anticipate opening day here. Been going my whole life, since I was a toddler.
This place is a Gem! From the outside it doesn't look like much but their homemade ice cream is to die for! I had a Vanilla & Pina Colada Gilato. The vanilla had real vanilla beans in it. And perfectly done water ice (not that Italian Ice hard as a rock stuff). To top everything off they're priced really well (as in not super expensive, for the size I got, cheaper than anywhere else)!!
This is Philadelphia without a doubt best water ice in the whole entire city. I come here as many times as I possibly can just forward rice the girls are always good looking young and pretty and willing to help get you what you need as fast as possible the prices are excellent parking's a little tough but it certainly is worth it I would definitely recommend to bring your kids your family and anybody else that you know to this place it is clearly a landmark and something you should experience
Today Sept 15, 2021 is the last day of the season. Worth for a long line til next year. Chocolate ice cream is the best
Best water ice I have ever had. Great selection of flavors and they make it with real fruit, which is a huge bonus. I highly recommend!
A staple of the Philadelphia summer! Nothing better than a refreshing water ice on a hot day. I would give this 10 stars if I could!
It was a great place for me to get a refreshing treat that I know locals enjoy too!
John's is the only place I will buy water ice from. They have classic and delicious flavors, at a reasonable price. Their ice cream is also delicious and well worth it. Love it!
Excellent water ice. The banana (one of today's specials) was full of fresh fruit. If you're in the neighborhood on a hot day, it's a "must stop".
I went to John's because I was told it is was the best in Philly. Water ice is a cross between a slushy and an Italian ice ??? The flavor was ok - not real strong. For a New Yorker, used to the stronger flavor of an Italian ice, it was a bit disappointing. It melted pretty fast in the Philly heat!
Had black raspberry chip ice cream and it was really good at a great cost!
Cool Philly water ice spot. Flavors are on point and prices are fair. Go get your water ice at this local Philly Favorite!
best out of all water ice places in philly, the workers are nice, the ice cream and water ice is good, and the wait isnt that long! (unless its packs lol) but its worth the wait!
This is a great place for water ice in South Philly. Staff is very friendly and because they have to be very fast.
Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. But in summer. The lines are long but the wait is worth it!
Since leaving South Jersey, we have to return to get Water Ice. Going to a funeral in Philly, we found this place by accident, it was so good. Wish we had a Water Ice place like this in Williamsburg, VA. Can't go to Jersey since we are not allowed right now.
I’ve been going here since I was a kid. Was always my favorite spot growing up. I moved farther away now but it’s always worth the hike. Whenever someone asks me to get water ice from I always say John’s!
The water ice is good, but the real gem here is their ice cream. All delicious, all giant portions and so reasonably priced. I wish they were open all year.
John's is a great, old fashioned taste of the neighborhood. No frills, just a walk-up window with water ice and ice cream. It's all made in the shop there. If you don't know what water ice is (not from Philly), go treat yo'self and discover! Or go nuts with a gelatti - ice cream & water ice combo. Chocolate ice & vanilla peanut butter ripple is the best combo!
I love there Cherry water ice, Butter pecan ice cream and soft pretzels when they have them; plus I've been going to John's for 45 years and I'm 51 by GOD'S grace. Love South Philly.
Efficient and Curtiest Sevice, worth going extra Mile
Water Ice or Ice Cream, this is my favorite in the city. The line at times looks long but it moves quickly. Really love the waffle cone sizing, but they have cups and smaller portions too.
The young man was nice enough to make my small cups fit in the cup holder so I could get all the water ice back to my car. John's Eater Ice has been a staple in my community. Water ice is the same: delicious and refreshing.
Really good ice-cream and outstanding service. Cookies and Cream tastes very fresh; it is our family’s favorite.
Ain’t been here in 6 years and y’all ain’t skip a beat!
Nice treat on the return back to Philly!
Peanut Butter Ice Cream on a waffle cone is clutch!
If you haven't had this water ice RUNNNN and get some! My favorite water ! We drive 30 mins just to get this! The BEST!
I’m a middle-aged man born and bred in South Philly who’s been coming here ever since I couldn’t walk and was carried in arms. John’s Water Ice is a Philly institution and there is simply no other water ice that can equal it. Other water ice franchises are far too sweet, saccharine and contain too many preservatives. Also, John’s only carries a few core flavors so as not to dilute the quality of their product. And finally, in a 21st century world replete with money-driven franchises that have long since lost their original flavor and distinctiveness (see Tastykake, Entenmann’s, Cinnabon, Breyer’s, etc.), John’s Water Ice is one of the rare products that tastes the same today as it did 74 years ago. This old dude finds this comforting and has exposed John’s to a 5th generation in my family. Bravissimo!
The water ice is so refreshing, and the ice cream is also very good. Try the blueberry flavor in July!!
For a Philly guy that is not a huge fan of ice cream, water ice has always been my summertime fav. And whenever anyone asks me who has the best water ice in Philly, the answer is always JOHN'S! My fav is half cherry, half pineapple. It makes for this amazing fruit punch kind of taste. What also makes John's water ice unique is its texture. It's almost as if the flavor was merged into the ice. It is not syrupy at all.
Fresh and delicious. The ice is super fine and the flavors are made with real fruit juice.
One of my favorite summer spots in South Philadelphia. My kids love the ice cream. They are only cash only, but there is an ATM right out front.
The water ice was pretty bland and watery (for those who have had it, Diane's and Sundaes put this place to shame). My son liked the ice cream and that's what everyone else with us got as well.
Nothing better on a hot night than a big water ice. Huge servings with low prices. Don't be put off if there's a line, because it moves really quickly.
John's water ice is awesome always has been always will be!!! The best in Philly or anywhere.
The best water ice besides Rita’s. This stuff is the good sugar when you go down south philly.
Simple. Not meaning that in a bad way. You are getting exactly what they advertise. It's like Rita's x 100. And they have great ice cream so their gelati is damn good too.
Good water ice and fresh flavors, but sorry too slushy, I'm from Philadelphia and I've noticed tgete is a difference between water ice Amma Italianwater ice and thus stuff is not like real Italian water ice you can have in NYC. Italian water ice should have a consistency in texture and not be slushy and it is very hard to find that in Philly.
An amazing water ice tradition in the city. Flavors are limited, but they have some of the best ice you can find. Worth the stop!
Me and my daughter's(well family) FAV spot for fresh water ice!!! We BIG Love their goodness.
Good place for water ice. Better than Rita;s Nice selection of flavors Ice cream offered. Only street parking. NO tables to sit
Honestly I am addicted to this place. Someone please find me better water ice… Because I am in disbelief that is possible. Cherry vanilla is my go to.
Best water ice in South Philly!!!
John's was our first water ice experience. We loved it. The gelati was especially good. The prices were great!
I had the lemon flavored water ice & it tasted so good. Tasted natural, didn’t taste like chemicals were added totally recommend.
Simply the best water ice in the world.
Best water Ice around town
Water ice is dumb. I don't know if that means I shouldnt review water ice places or what. But I waited in line for 20 minutes at this place to get a cup of cherry slush that didn't have any actual flavor. No clue what Philly sees in this stuff.
I absolutely love their water ice & ice cream. Workers are very nice & helpful & move quickly.
Best water ice in Philly! And you get a good amount for your money. Parking is not usually easy, but as it's South Philly that's to be expected
Water ice and ice cream are good and good prices too my only complain is the girls behind the counter they rush you to order quickly, I understand the place is busy but they have to give you time as a customer specially if you buy more than 5 ice creams like me.
Some of the best water ice in South Philadelphia along with stick pretzels where do you get stick pretzels at only John's
This place Ben here for many many years, And I must say the icecream is mouth watering 😋, and the water ice is smooth and delicious yes yes 👍 keep it coming. …
My favorite water ice in Philly
Best place in the city for Water Ice, all natural. The only thing they can improve is I wish they would stir there water ice more. Once in awhile it can be a little too hard.
I am 65 years old. I've been GOING to John's water ice all my life. You can't change perfection.
A really great refreshing treat on a hot day! Very affordable- better prices than most ice cream parlors and the sizes are great.
The best water ice in the city... I have been going here for years with my grandparents and I'm over 40..A tasted of the past .
Really one of the best water ice in philly. Can never go wrong with john's
Local favorite - Fresh ingredient's, delicious and refreshing treats!
So good! I got the gelati and it was great! Service was quick and the portions aren't bad for the price
Love the butter pecan ice cream!! All the water ice flavors are the best!! Would give ten stars if I could!
This place is the epicenter of what true water ice should be. Judge all others based on John’s. South Philly landmark for water ice.
Some of the best water ice I've had. I had lemon and cherry. Would recommend and the price is right.
Very good disappointed no fruit in the water
Best water ice on Earth
Water ice is very Good.
Great water ice. Not too sweet.
Birthday cake ice cream and lemon water ice amazing! Best water ice in Philly
Classic flavors well represented.
The best in pa delicious cherry flavor real fruit I love this waterice 😋😋😋I wish I could have it all year round I brought my 3gallon in April …
Great water ice at a great price. Nice portion as well.
Amazing water ice. Pineapple is my favorite. Their ice cream is really good too and at a great price!
Excellent fresh flavors and quick service - local staple! Make sure you bring cash
Amazing water ice!
I love the lemon, pineapple, and cherry water ice.
I count the days until John’s opens in the Spring. With the Pandemic and John’s closed I hope I can make it until April
Great water ice and ice cream
South Philly tradition classic water ice and traditional flavors! Obama loves the place and so will you.
Best water ice in Philly. They are less expensive than Ritas and way better!!
Great flavors of water ice and ice cream.
Best water ice in the city. Love the pineapple flavor and the ice cream is delicious.
