I really enjoyed this little place. Very unique take on making custom ice cream. I watched them take various ingredients, place them in a large drill bit contraption, then all the ingredients got grinded up and came out like soft serve ice cream. Really interesting take. They also serve local beers too. Overall very good ice cream with a unique twist on making it.

SO DELICIOUS! This unique place will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth and will not disappoint. You have the option of choosing one of their ice cream concoctions or creating your own. We chose ones they had on the menu and we absolutely loved it. 100% recommend trying Capitals Ice Cream.

At first I was a little skeptical that they sell beer here, but after visiting I’m all here for it. The ice cream was sooo good. They only have chocolate and vanilla ice cream but they make up for it by having so many toppings and things to mix into it. I recommend getting the Oklahoma standard shake, it’s amazing.

The person that served us was great and pleasant. Our order didn't take long and we got exactly what we asked for. The ice cream was just fine though. It's the standard frozen milk or whatever comes from every other ice cream maker you can probably buy at a kitchen store. Nothing worth $8/tiny cup. I guess it's fine if you don't care about money.

Great ice cream! An extremely large amount, so if possible it might be best to share. We had three ice creams spilt between 4 people and not a single one got finished. But it you don’t mind throwing a way some left overs then go for it! The ice cream was excellent! They had plenty of flavors to choose from, and the employees were amazing!

Nice place for a different experience with ice-cream. You may ordered from their combinations on the menu or you may build-your-own. They have 3 different ice-cream bases: vanilla, chocolate or mixed. I got the Oklahoma Standard on vanilla base ice cream. It had Fudge brownie, Chocolate drizzle, and Peanut butter. I liked it but I would've prefer it with more of the ingredients on it. The ingredients were just on the top of the cup. The bottom half of the ice cream was just vanilla ice cream. It wasn't mixed well on the whole ice-cream. My wife did a build-your-own and she got Oreos, Lucky Charms, Blueberries on vanilla base.

Wow!! Our first time here. We pass by so many times. Finally this week we decided we would stop by. We should of shared one of the selections we got. They we very nice portions. It was worth what they charge. We will share next time so we can go 2 days in a row with less guilt. Glad we went in today. Great ice cream shop. Clean place, friendly staff and sweet treats!

Walking into capitals, you are immediately met with this nasty odor that is similar old milk dumped into a never-emptied grease trap at the bottom of a fast food joints grill. Once seated you will find your pants stained by the never-cleaned barstools while you enjoy your (delicious) ice cream. If you reach for a napkin make sure to watch out for the ice scream splats all over the napkin dispenser. The ice cream is really good and the employees have been nice every time I’ve gone. Yummy ice cream!

Ice cream is always a nice treat after a light meal and a great fix for a sweet tooth. The friendliness of the staff is undeniable as guests are promptly greeted when you enter the small yet airy store. The minimalist design offers a complimentary backdrop to their colorful offering of toppings for your cold treat if you want to mix and match one or more ingredients into the creamy vanilla ice cream base. Not wanting to make a decision? Simply choose one of their changing menu of special concoctions. Ask for recommendations if you still needed some guidance but the final product should not disappoint. Capitals also serves pour over coffee, cold brew and craft beer from local and national brewers. So even if you are "dragged" to Midtown by your child for an ice cream dessert, you have the option for a more "adult" treat. That should make the challenge of finding parking a little more bearable.

Nice service, trendy options, seasonal menu changes. The atmosphere of this place is very clean and modern. The only downside is that it is quite small and uncomfy when it gets busy. Also what I ordered was a little too sweet, I would recommend fruit mix ins ( rather than adding more sugar to an already sweet base ) or getting the cold brew shake. My husband ordered the cold brew shake and it was AMAZING! I will definitely be ordering that from now on

Had the Great Salt Plains ice cream, very tasty. Great place to stop for dessert after lunch/dinner at any of the restaurants nearby. Not a lot of parking in same block as shop. But more available about a block away. Reasonable prices for what you get.

The people in the shop cannot be nicer, and the selections of mix ins are unique. You have three bases to choose from- vanilla, chocolate & dairy free. You can have an ice cream or they’ll blend it into a shake. The overall idea for the shop is great but the ice cream is average. I’m talking about the ice cream base, not all of the things you can throw in it. The base is underwhelming. There are many other, sorry to say, chain shops that offer a greater tasting product. So if you’re in the mood for ice cream and you want to load it up with mix ins, this may be just the place for you. But if you’re wanting an amazing scoop of ice cream, I’d keep looking.

Update: I’ve now been here several times now and I’m downgrading this place. They nailed it with location, but the last time I went, they changed their cups to shorter ones and it appears they are possibly giving more ice cream. Which sounds ok in theory but it’s not. It was hard to eat, melting all over the place and falling over. Plus it doesn’t seem like they increased the mix-in’s so mine basically just tasted like straight chocolate ice cream. Also, the tables and chairs have been pretty dirty the last few times I’ve been there. Wait in line for a stressful eating experience of a basic chocolate ice cream at $5-$7 a pop, no thanks. Great location, cool vibe, great concept, nice staff but the core product needs improvement. ———————————————- Pretty cool place. Ice cream was good. Simple. Clean. Staff was nice. As far as I can tell the only real unique thing is the blender they use. So in that regard, a little pricey for what you are getting. I got the chocolate ice cream with Oreo and strawberries, which I enjoyed. I would recommend checking out this place. The people writing reviews saying this is the best or most unique ice cream in OKC are either blinded by the newness and novelty or they know the owners.

What a great addition to Midtown!! Extremely well done mix-in ice cream!! We opted for shakes on our most recent visit and they were phenomenal!! They also do a great job keeping it interesting with wonderful seasonal combinations, but don’t disappoint leaving favorites around, and of course you can create your own! Highly recommend!

They blend fruit into their ice cream and the menu changes. I like this place because the ice cream isn't super sweet and the flavours of the fruit are subtle. We tried out the "little miss sunshine" and "white water bae." I would definitely come back.

My wife and I love this ice cream shop. The employees are extremely nice, they have a fun environment, and not to mention the ice cream is amazing. Melanie, one of their employees, suggested I get blueberries, honey, and granola with my dairy-free vanilla ice cream - this was a fantastic choice and I think it should be made a permanent special on the menu. Go try this ice cream shop! You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious ice cream! It’s a fantastic find when I can receive soft serve dairy free (oat milk base) vanilla ice cream with my childhood favorite cereal mix ins. You must give this place a chance you won’t be disappointed! And, although not listed on their website they offer a selection of local beers on tap too.

Came here for dessert because of the reviews and the concept. I like ice cream in general so it was good for me but it's basically a glorified blizzard from DQ or a McFlurry with no actual chunks of ingredients. I ordered the Signature Oklahoma with vanilla ice cream. While I could taste all the ingredients, I wanted to also taste chunks of brownie or PB.

Unique take on ice cream - I got the Bipartisan (strawberry, blueberry, and captain crunch), and it was delightful! It is like a concrete as others stated - but flavors pack the right amount of punch and not overwhelmingly sweet. I do wish there were more solid toppings, but still has a notable texture (whether or not you’re into that)

My son and I stopped in because we wanted ice cream and we’d never been. We really enjoyed it, and it’s a very unique experience. You choose ingredients that they grind up on a cup, then top with ice cream and mix together. It’s a very unique process, and the toppings are pretty interesting (from cookies to kids cereals). We chose one of their special mixes because there were infinite options, and we both really enjoyed it.

I loved the cool lighting, benches, and colorful artwork. The ice cream was good but the speciality flavors had too much stuff in them. The blackberry pie was tasty. It had actual ground blackberries, but there were too many seeds to enjoy it. It was a unique experience to share. I recommend choosing a simple combination of ice cream and one topping to enjoy the flavors.

I thought it was soft serve but it actually seems like it's not - from watching them make it it looks real chocolate and vanilla ice cream that they scoop into a mixing machine where they drop in cookies and cereals and such. The result is almost like soft serve but INSANELY FLAVORFUL. Like each bite I found a little bit shocking. It's definitely worth a try!!!

Very cute modern space. The ambiance is everything and it’s a nice place to grab something sweet. I wish they had more options available for customers. It is absolutely my favorite ice cream place in the world!!! I get the cookie dough every time and what they do is they start with a base flavor. You can choose chocolate or vanilla (I get vanilla) and then you can add whatever you want to it. Since I get cookie dough, they blend real cookies in with the vanilla ice cream in a special blender. Then when it comes out of the machine, they put cookie dough bites on top :) DELICIOUS

My wife had been talking about this place's impending Grand Opening, so while family was in town we decided to go see if it was open. Happened to stumble in on day 2 in business and during the Midtown Walkabout event. They were packed with wall-to-wall people and although it took 45 minutes, they handled it like a champ and the service was great. The ice cream was also worth the wait! There are some great things coming from this hardworking group and looking forward to going back and trying new flavors!

This was our second time going and it was good. I got a build your own, chocolate ice cream with Graham crackers and cookie dough. It was pretty good. My wife got a cold Brew milkshake. It was really good. Fast service and solid ice cream. Definitely worth going to if you're in midtown.

We decided that we wanted ice cream, but not just braums or some sonic ice cream. So I got online and found this gem. We drove there. There was a line when we got here, but the THREE, 3 girls that were working got through this line in at least 5 minutes. They clean there machine after each use. That awesome. Also these girls worked great together. They knew exactly each item on the menu and knew how to make it quickly and efficiently. Out of 10 they get 100!! They rocked. And the ice cream was delicious. Most definitely will be back.

I've been to capital a handful of times and while the ice cream is good! they have these "boozy shakes" and every time I go in there with the hopes of getting one they claim not to have them available. My main reason for going is to get one of these shakes that my friends always brag about. The worker said they don't have their liquor license to i don't know why they still offer them on the menu. I've been trying to get one for the past 6 months, I officially quit.

Delicious ice cream with a ton of mix in options to make your own crafted ice cream experience. Start with the base chocolate, vanilla, or dairy free vanilla option and choose from a ton of assorted fruit, candy, or cookie/cereal mix-ins. The location is a little small, but not a worry if you're just passing by quickly. The prices are fair, and the portions just right. I would definitely give this place another go, and then walk around the block for some more!

The staff was great. Very friendly, helpful, and good at keeping the line moving quickly. The cups are too small to stack the ice cream so high. Too much of what you pay for ends up melted on your clothes. Get a shake if you go, so you don't have to worry about it melting. Bigger ice cream cups please!

Great place to go after dinner. There are several options of ice cream and mix ins. Also, there is a non dairy, vegan option that tastes great for those who are lactose free it vegan. The line is always long, which means it is worth waiting for, but the line moves very quickly and the service is fast. The servings a very large, and I always wish I would have split one with someone. Great after dinner dessert place.

There is honestly nothing like Capitals in OKC in my opinion. The way the ice cream is made is super cool. The concept is very creative. The variety of flavors makes it fun to keep coming back to try the new ones. The staff make the environment very fun and inviting. Capitals' popularity rests on their signature blended ice cream products. A base of vanilla or chocolate ice cream is combined with various mix-ins (from fruit to breakfast cereal to cookies and graham crackers) and it's all blended. You can get a milkshake version or denser concoction like a gourmet, extra-blended McFlurry. Much as I like an occasional blended treat, my go-to is their chocolate milkshake. Both the chocolate and vanilla bases are high quality and don't need the mix-ins to be the star in their own right. Sometimes I ask for strawberries in my milkshake for some added oomph, but 8 times out of 10 I opt for the best chocolate milkshake in OKC. When I need a caffeinated treat, I go for their spin on a coffee milkshake--cold brew blended with vanilla or chocolate ice cream. (They also have waffle cones, but these are popular and often sell out fast.)

My first impression of this unique OKC ice cream shop was positive! The highlight for me was the cone which tasted fresher than other offerings in the city. They only offer two flavours, but various choices for mix-ins as well as coffee for people who rather have caffeine than sugar. I will definitely be coming back soon!!

Great ice cream but the size of the ice cream varies too much. I wish there was just a standard size. The first time I went it was really good and worth 6 dollars. The second time I went, i got half the amount of ice cream for the same price. I just do not understand why the amount of ice cream is different each time I come, it should just be a standard size for a set price.

There was most notably a great atmosphere and understanding staff (we came in two minutes before they closed, trivia night took us a little longer than we thought, lol). The icecream/ milkshake combos were endless! Cereals, chocolates, fruits, and candy galore! Yet, it's the little attention to details that make this place even better; they use biodegradable single-use plastics and provide free water to all their customers. Great place, would go there again!

Wow! Blew my expectations. Who would've thought flaming hot cheetos and rice crispies would be good together? Not me. My favorite was the great plains.
