Reviews of Benfaremo- The Lemon Ice King Of Corona
The Lemon Ice King of Corona is a hidden gem in New York that serves up some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The shop has a fun and inviting atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. But what truly sets The Lemon Ice King of Corona apart is their almond sorbet. It was rich and delicious, with the perfect balance of almond flavor and creaminess. Every spoonful was a delightful treat and left me wanting more.
In addition to the delicious sorbet, the service at The Lemon Ice King of Corona was outstanding. The staff were friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend The Lemon Ice King of Corona to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable ice cream experience in New York. Whether you're in the mood for sorbet, ice cream, or something in between, this shop has something for everyone. Overall, The Lemon Ice King of Corona is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional dessert experience.
Should have gone with cherry flavor. The spumoni is okay only. Wish we could sample more, there's so many flavors but only allowed one, maybe two if lucky. Also you can't combine flavors so if you get a bigger cup, it all has to be one flavor. This is a big disadvantage versus a Ralph's where you can have say up to 4 for a pint. The parking is hard, expect to walk ten minutes unless you're lucky.
Came here on a nice warm day and I definitely need to go back to try more flavors. I got the peanut butter one and really enjoyed it. I also got it medium size for $4 and it was enough for me, so expect a good serving and great-tasting ice!
This corner water ice station is cash-only, something to keep in mind as you peruse their sizable list of flavors. I ended up with a pint of their orange-vanilla. It was a good choice, as it had a lot of flavor. It's a bit out of the way from the subway, but worth a trip.
I can’t speak highly enough about Benfaremo. The kids and adults to work here are so nice and courteous. I’ve been coming here for a long time but today I wanted to get 1/2 gallons of ices for my son’s daycare since it’s so hot today. The manager and kid working behind the counter packed all the ices for me and even helped me pack the containers and insulated it for me. They even offered to help me take it to my car. Wow! The ices are fantastic, but the service was exceptional. Even though this place is a 13 minute drive for me and Ralph’s is only 5 minutes away from my home, I’ll do the extra 8 minutes for such impeccable service.
The gentlemen behind the counter were very friendly and wonderful. I really wanted to like my ice but I didn’t. I had the sour apple and it tasted off. It had a weird aftertaste and it hardly tasted like sour apple. My friends enjoyed their flavors though—peach and cherry. Perhaps I just chose the wrong flavor. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. I sure will return and try another flavor solely based on the hospitality of the place.
Part of my youth ... Spent hours with King of Queens. Knowing, that part of it was recorded here is awesome - still after 30 years. Glad you survived the lockdowns!
WHY IS IT SO FAR AWAY?
We ate at Park Side and left room for dessert.
I do not like lemon ice BUT look at the sign. I felt I cheated myself if I didn’t get a lemon ice.
MY GOD, I was blown away! I didn’t expect to by crème’ goodness!
Once I got done demolishing it I went back for the fruit cocktail which had real fruit in it!
We are from Long Island and there is nothing like this out here!
Whenever I return to NY to visit home this is always my first stop. Never fails to bring back memories of my childhood going to the ice king on summer nights with my dad. The ices are always as good as I remember and have never had better.
A 5 dollar cup of Italian Ice. What a treat, the tangerine was incredibly vibrant without being overly sugary. Would take this over most gelatos in the US.
A great treat worth getting if you are in the Corona park area.
I was on YouTube going through vices videos and I saw this joint and surprisingly it was 500 feet away from me so then I ran down the block to go see the hype and damn was the hype true that ice was smooth and flavorful like I had em ice things before but this was by far the best the price is good for what you get and it’s evenly priced based on the amount so this place is a gem for sure! Btw I got the mango
The Lemon Ice King of Corona is one of the signature dessert spots in Queens. It is super popular and there is always a line by the windows. The staff served everyone quickly so the wait wasn’t too bad.
We had their lemon and pistachio, both in small size. Their ice was so delicious, refreshing and smooth with creamy texture. We were so surprised that they made the ice without any dairy products.
The options on the menu are in a great variety and there are lots of flavors we would like to try like peanut butter, pina colada ... Luckily, we are in the neighborhood and already plan our next visit.
Classic NY Italian ice. I love the lemon, or grape (tastes like grape nerds). Make sure to bring cash. Yum!
I’d heard a lot about Benfaremo and, as I was In the area I thought I’d give it a try.
I am glad I did! They have a fantastic range of flavours and sizes in case you can’t make up you mind. I had a large Lemon ice and it was delicious.
The young guy manning the store was friendly, if a little underemployed at the time but it was 12pm so I suspect it would get a lot busier after I left.
Good ices with lots of tempting flavours. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
Layout/atmosphere
*Takeout window on corner of busy intersection
Service
*Friendly; quick
Food/drink
*Rainbow ice - very good; creamy and flavorful
*Spumoni ice - Good
Hands down. The Very best ice’s in NYC!!! I’ve tried the rest, no comparison. They are the Kings!!! Had to get a half gallon, yes a Half a Gallon of cherry to take home. Can’t get enough!!! Great service. All the flavors will leave you speechless. There a must visit this summer for the whole family. Well worth the trip!!!
Whenever I'm in the area, you'll find me at Lemon Ice King! Too many choices to choose from; orange and cream, cherry, pina colada, just to name a few. In the end I always settle for their coconut. Smooth, refreshing, so good. Just too bad they don't mix flavors in a cup. Fyi, no seating available.
Picture this: below freezing and this stuff still tastes incredible. I got a small mango one, and I loved it. I cannot wait to come back here when it’s warm and try multiple flavors! Also King of Queens!
A great treat for a hot day. The Lemon Ice King of Corona offers over 30 flavours of Italian Ice (not ice cream!). Note: Cash Only!
The best, Italian ice, hands-down! Been coming here since I was a little boy.
A very unique place to get ice. I skip all the smaller sizes now and go straight for the pint.
The consistency is what makes this place a go to for me. The ice is not as fluffy as the asian shaved iced shops (ie less airy) but it is not as grainy as the italian ices (finer texture.) I would say it is like dense snow.
The flavor isn't heavy but is fairly pronounced, like the lemonade from a fair.
Came here my entire childhood. My wife and kids first time in queens, The kids wanted ice cream. We were at Flushing Meadows Park so decided to go here for icees. The flavor choices were great. The prices were reasonable. The only inconvenience was that they only accept cash which they didn't tell me until after ordering 6 icees. Luckily they do have a nearby ATM.
We’ve been coming here for years and they are the best lemon iced in the city. Peanut butter and mint chip are our favorites but you can’t go wrong with lemon or watermelon either. And we had all 4 of them as the dessert at our wedding :)
Really great Italian ice and so many flavors! Great service too! Can’t wait to go back to try more!
They are very nice and polite, long list of flavors for any kind of taste , and when I didn’t like the flavor I got (coffee flavor didn’t taste right ), they offered to replace it with any flavor I wanted, so I got bubblegum and it was amazing
I love this place not to far from where I visit if it's slightly warm or not raining definitely a stop on my travels.
So many flavours to choose from and they all taste great.
If you like Italian ices, this is the best in NYC. They are absolutely delicious - taste and texture- and very refreshing on a warm summer day. Definitely worth the trip. They also have a flavor to satisfy everyone's taste. My favorite is Lemon - 😋 DELICIOUS …
Went here last weekend while in town visiting because a friend recommended it. SO GLAD we listened because it was incredible. I got two lemons and even though it was chilly out, it was delicious. Sam was the one who helped me and he was so helpful, pleasant and professional. I’ll be back next time I’m in town!
Nice corner store back from the 50’s this is as much old fashion ice cream could be, water base, very sweet and with the park across make the perfect grab and go. They don’t have table so must be a grab and go. The neighbourhood is nice.
Wide range of ice flavours, great prices, refreshing ice. What's not to love? Must have if you find yourself on this side of Queens.
Highly recommended and rightly so. Excellent flavours lots of selections. Gentleman serving on the front was pleasant. I had a medium fruit cocktail wish I had purchased a large!
It's a classic spot. Ices always good. Kid behind counter was nice.
Some of the best Italian ice I've had. The flavor variety is great. I always make sure to grab cash and stop by if I'm in the area.
I don't know if it's new management or if it's a new producer but it's not as yummy as it used to be. I'll give it another try come this summer but if it fails I'm gonna have to drop my 3 to 2 stars.
A landmark, been around for ages, best icies in NYC overall, and during the holidays they make fresh candied apples 🍎! Delicious. Don't forget to leave a tip for your servers! …
So many flavors to choose from. My team’s favorite place to go after a run.
The best. Lemon ice love all of the flavors and take it to go gallon
Note, I am from Denver, and I occasionally never eat Italian ice, but this spot was pretty good, first, when we got to The Lemon Ice King, there wasn't anybody there, (possibly because people don't go in the falls because it's cold.) Although the was were inattentive. Please don't say you're opened just so my dad and I take an hour to get Italian ice, otherwise good ice, good staff, pretty good overall.
Love this place my favorite go to is lemon ice cream yummy ...
Best ices of Queens. I normally get their fruit cocktail, its so good. The fruit ices normally have pieces of the fruit choice you picked. So if you picked peach, you will find peach pieces in it. The prices are great as well. 100% recommend coming here.
Ices are good, but in my opinion slightly over priced. You're also only allowed to get one flavor no matter how large of a size you order.
What do you say about a place that has probably had it all said before? I am originally from Brooklyn and I grew up on eating the Geno's ices from the local pizza places. Those are real ices to me, not all of this Rita's and water ice and whatever other stuff is out there.
Popped in here after a Mets game and got the Rainbow flavor (thanks to Genos) and it tasted identical to that taste I knew and loved as a kid. I figured I had to find out if it was identical all around so I then got a lemon ice. This place is the real deal. We tried a bunch of flavors but the fact that this place is cheap and can bring me a nostalgic feeling of my youth is enough reason to come again and again. Thank you Lemon Ice King.
Always a good experience here. They have some of the best Italian ice of all. Personal favorites are the root beer and the mint chocolate chip, but the fruit flavors are also amazing. Some of them have chunks of the real fruit in it, so delicious.
Best place for delicious Italian iced! Lemon is the most refreshing! Kids love blueberry and cotton candy!
You must take the time to visit this place. The different flavors makes it difficult to choose but I did. It was excellent.
My all time favorite ice spot. I may be bias cause I grew up 10 blocks away but it's still a must try.
Greatest ices on the planet! When the is warm, you have a multitude of flavors to pick from!
This is one of the best places to stop off to after a long day in the park with the kids or a good workout. The Lemon Ice King is not only delicious but is refreshing. They have every flavor you can imagine and tastes great. A great place for the whole family to enjoy.
Outstanding Ices.Once you've had Lemon Ice King you'll want no other! They have 25+ flavors. They are the tastiest! Parking in the area is difficult so bring along a friend to sit in your car.
It was my first time having their icees. I was amazed at the icees having actual fruit and gum in them. I think the flavors were refreshing, accurate and awesome. You can't go wrong give any flavor a try!
Always great. Better than any other. Any flavor is great. Favorites are Fruit cocktail, banana, and chocolate. Come all the way from South Jersey whenever we are in Queens. Grew up in Flushing and lived in Corona. Totally above the rest! ❤
Great icy spot! Affordable and delicious 😋 they have many flavors! My favorite is the cherry, coconut 🥥 and passion fruit! …
I came to the popular Lemon Ice King of Corona. There are so many flavors and if I lived nearby, I'd spend every summer day trying a new flavor. The service was excellent. The people that work there are super nice and helpful. I had Pina Colada and tried Coconut. Both flavors were so good. The texture is smooth, silky and icy both mostly smooth. Perfect way to cool down on a hot New York day. :)
I have been going there for over 35 years in the summer and the winter and still can't decide what flavors to get. Their sugar free flavors are so good that you don't miss the sugar. Every flavor is great and they have good jelly apples too. Also, the guys that work there are always so nice.
Prices are cheap, less than ice cream. $4 for a large. Tried a medium cherry and a large lemon, both were delicious. Will be back before my trip is over.
Love this place better than Ralph's ❤ Sorry, not sorry! I came here all the way from Long island just for The lemon ice king and they did not disappoint 😁 …
I'm from the UK and visited this place a few days ago on vacation to NYC. I made the trip out to Queens purely based on my love for the show King Of Queens. I didn't actually know what Italian Ice was and to be honest I'm not actually a fan of sorbet back home. I love the rich creaminess of dairy ice cream and worried most of the flavours here wouldn't work with a water base. Still though I was here for TV nostalgia and didn't really care if I enjoyed my ice. Friendly service, a very authentic place where the no frillsness of it all really adds to the experience. The moment of truth though, my first bite of my ice....WOW! Absolutely delicious. The best ice cream I have ever had and technically it's not even ice cream. I got the cherry vanilla flavour and I could really taste both. So guys you have a fan in London UK.
There is a variety of flavors to choose from and it always taste great! I make sure to never miss out when I am in town!
Best I've ever had, so refreshing. It doesn't just taste like flavored ice shavings, there's so much flavor and chunks of fruit. Don't ask for a mix but if you get two you can combine your own.
Great variety flavor if you're in Queens you must definitely stop to try their great flavors
There fruit cocktail icee was delicious, with real fruits added. The cherry has real cherries and they were both very creamy in an icee type of manner... Go and enjoy. FYI large is $4
Very good but Vecchitos a little better
They really make a nice watermelon
Greatest ices on the planet. For peanut butter lovers that is one of their best flavors. As is nearly all of the fruit based flavors. I am a regular I go there typically several times a week in the summer. They call me super peanut butter guy.
STILL ONE OF THE PLACES FOR SOME GOOD OLD FASHION ICE. THEY BEEN THERE FOREVER AND HAVE NOT CHANGED A BIT.....TRY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Getting a $2 strawberry/banana ice was the highlight of my week. It is so refreshing and you only need a small to be filled with happiness. I have heard the summer crowds are crazy, but I went on a warm and rainy day and it was perfect. Hopefully I will go a few more times before I leave the city.
Lemon Ice King has been a spot my family would go to for years. My favorite flavor is Chocolate. I recall ordering a cherry that was delicious BUT it had pieces of cherry in it that I'm not a fan of that. Great service.
One of a kind expensive but you can't put a price on a great thing in life because you only live once in a lifetime try it and visit thenm because you don't know what love is until you have taested it lol 10+
This is not an ice cream place. It's an Italian ices place with a street, walk-up counter. No seating.
They have tons of different flavors as well as sugar-free choices (only 4, I think. Btw, Hey Lemon Ice King - make some other sugar free flavors!! Come on)
Its a classic, but don't count on finding any parking in front.
Not as good as it used to be but still better than most Italian ice spots. Some flavors don't taste as fresh. I feel that every time I go, it's home down a little more than the last. Flavors are not even close to the actual Italian ice spots in Italy.
Wonderful selection of fresh made ices. Some good sugar free flavors and a bargain.
Love getting some and watching Bocci Ball at the park across street.
It's too sweet, sweeter than a slurpee and they don't do half and half flavor mixes, I prefer ralphs compared to lemon ice king, you can get a cherry water ice with real chunks of cherries and more for your money while at lemon ice king you get a overly sweetened artificial sappy mess in a small soft paper cup.
Would really like to visit one day. I hope to soon.
Love this place since I was a kid. They have every flavor you cant imagine and some you'd never thought of. I was sad when they refused to mix 2 flavors in my cup, otherthan that, an excellent place for a cool treat.
Always fun to visit here. Many flavors. Only thing is the little paper cups are very thin and the ice gets messy very quick. You have to order a large to get a wax cup and they charge $4.00 for the large. You can also take home pints and quarts.
Large variety of flavors at this Queens institution. The ices were some of the best I’ve ever had and the service was great!
Remember this ice when I was a kid I am 42 now and would love to have one if I could live in big texas now but boy do I wish I could taste this joy that it bring to my heart again. One scoop full at a time.
it's very good, but they only let you have one flavor per cup. definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and you can sit in the park across the street. also it's very sweet and prob high in sugar and melts pretty quickly. so good though
A staple in Corona surrounded by some of the best local restaurants like Parkside to name a few. This ice King has some of the most unique flavors around compared to other ice shops. This one has the best laundry list of flavors to choose from. Get anything from small and above starting at $2 to satisfy and cool down from the summer heat.
Simply put; if you like authentic Italian Ices then this is the place for you. Just remember it is a take out establishment. There is a small park around the corner with plenty of benches where you and your family can sit and enjoy your treats.
Year round, walk up counter. You are not going inside. it really is the Italian Ice King, amazing texture, all real natural flavors, no concentrates. Not just lemon, lots of flavors even a few sugar free; lemon and cherry.
There is a small metered lot across the street, it is your best hope by car, or wait in the car double parked like I do (not true Queens style, where you leave your car...)
Best Italian ice ever! Plus so many flavors from the traditional like rainbow, cherry and lemon but other flavors like cotton candy, blue, sour apple, canteloupe, pistachio, mango, etc and with real fruit. It's so awesome. It is a must have and must try if you have never had. Nothing compares!!!
This place has been here for many years for a reason, I share a last name with them but have no relation to them. I been going there as a kid and now I take my kids there as well we all love it but they are not limited to ices they sell candies apples as well which my kids and husband love to eat (always traditional) red candy apple
There's a guy who sells their products on the corner of Junction Blvd and Roosevelt Ave during warm seasons. He has fewer varieties, but for a taste of basic flavors, it's easy to access by subway #7 or buses. Inexpensive, and delicious on a nasty hot night. Treat yourself and try Lemon Ice King flavors, you won't be disappointed!
We stopped here after going to the NY Hall of Science less than 3 miles away. I have heard through the years how great this place is. Well, they were right! My daughter had the watermelon ice and I had the bubble gum ice that had little pieces of bubble gum mixed in. It doesn't get better than that. They were soft and sweet. Parking is a nightmare so most people pull up with somebody else driving to get the ices and go. It's a very small shop and for those who commented on the service, I am not dining here and staying for an extended period of time so as long as they can get me the ices I am not concerned. The guys serving them were pleasant but very busy on a rainy Mother's Day.
Awesome flavors and even more awesome employees! Very patient and quick! Great spot to grab one and hang out at the small park across the street. The affordable prices make it so you can try a new flavor (or two!) in one sitting!
Long standing place that has withstood the test of time by consistently serving a great product with a wide variety of flavors. Known for its lemon ice but you have to try the sour apple !
Wow! The Original. Easy to see right off of 108th Street servicing Corona and the adjoining areas of Queens County. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Window service only. No napkins. Spoons only for large orders. Cash only. Cherry, Peanut Butter, and of Course Lemon are all hits. No mixing of flavors. Make sure you know the rules. We will definitely be going back.
Fantastic place, with Italian ice like no other tons of flavors, fresh fruit peices blended right in. Multiple sizes. Nice park across the street to chill and eat or watch bachi ball. Great all around experience
Always the best icee. Lemon is a must and it's their original flavor. Been coming here since I was a kid now I bring my own here when we visit. Candy apples in the fall and spring are amazing. Always go with the granny Smith green apple in caramel.
Anyone who grew up in Queens knows about the Lemon Ice King, the best Italian ices shop in the city. All of their flavors are delicious, and none of them are too sweet. I personally love the lemon and orange & cream flavors.
Been going here since I’ve been in diapers! This place never gets old! This is my dad and i’s favorite spot to go to on a summer night! Vinnie the owner is so kind and very friendly! I just hope they add more flavors! Long live the lemon ice king! I hope to take my future children and grandkids here some day cuz this is the best place ever!!!! You haven’t lived yet until you’ve tasted the Lemon ice king! All the flavors are absolutely delicious and never disappoint!!!!
OK so this place has the BEST tasting great prices. Oh and the most flavors. I've never been disappointed. Tonight I decided on the peanut butter flavor. I'm never trying another flavour. It even had pieces of peanuts. I'm just saying!!
I have been to this place countless times. The best Italian ice. There's no seating, so is either to go on standing while eating, and you order outside. They do open in the colder months and offer caramel apple.
Ices are lit here and cheap! They're famous for starring in a shoe and I didn't even know but if you never tried this place then your not from Queens. $1.50 for a small ice and they have good flavors. People complain about the cups that they put it in, I think it's just fine bc it makes u eat the ice FASTER. On a hot day, this is the spot!
It certainly has been a hot Summer. What saves us from the heat? Nice air conditioned room, ice cream, beach…and then there is Italian Ice. We heard everyone talking about this one in particular, near Corona Park. On a weekend we were visiting the Corona Park, we decided to take a walk over to this Italian Ice spot. It was quite a walk, especially on a hot day. It was around 20 minutes walk, and then we finally arrived to this window-serve location. I might have been hoping for a place with indoor seating, and strong air condition, but that dream was crushed quickly. They had enough staffs working so it was pretty quick to get our order.
We had Watermelon and Peanut Butter flavors, both were strong, sweet, tasty and smooth. Make sure you get some napkins, as it can be messy once the paper cup starts to break, you can’t really stop the leak... Read my full review on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
My favorite Italian ices. I have been going here since I was a child. It is a Queens NY staple, landmark, tradition! Be sure to go watch bocci ball in spaghetti park while enjoying your ice!
Been coming here since early 80's. Neighborhood has changed greatly for the worse since. But not The Lemon Ice King of Corona. Still the BEST Italian ices anywhere, period.
This place is amazing! The ices all taste amazing and are all non-dairy. I dont understand how they make the ices taste so great. So many flavors to choose from and the prices are extremely affordable compared to some other places ive been to. Staff is friendly as well. Definitely need to try it.
Tried many other iced. NOTHING compared to The Lemon Ice King of Corona. So many flavors. Been a customer for 55 years and I even get it in the Winter when the urge hits me. My favorite flavor ? It depends on the mood, safe ro say they are all awesome.
Best ices 😍🥲 i lived in nyc my whole life and just discovered this after searching where i can get ices to meet my cravings 😍 …
The pineapple has bits of pineapple in it, which my nine year old self would have been upset by, but now I'm older and was able to enjoy them. Consistency is important to me, but a few sweet chunks disrupting the otherwise smooth texture of the ice are ok. I asked for a spoon. A medium was more than enough. Great deal, I don't know if there are restrooms.
Great price ice cream. Iconic place in queens. This place was featured in an old show called the king of queens. The prices haven't changed over the year which is great. It's located in a small Italian area in corona. People usually go across the street and eat their icees an a park. During the winter they sell apples with caramel.
Lots of flavors to choose from. They also have different cup sizes to choose from. Only thing the paper cups they give u in are kinda crappy,by the time you reach half way down the block..its falling apart. Other than that it's a a good place to visit for a cool down with your favorite flavor. Lots of people when it's hot.😊😊 …
Wonderful place I used go here with my kids when they were little. So glad it's still around!
Staple of Corona and Queens… these ices still taste the same today as they did 30 years ago. Strawberry banana and Sour Apple are great.
This place is the absolute best. Lemon classic incredible and peanut butter to die for. It's going to take me a while to try all 50 flavors.
World's best Italian ices. If you never had one, you have been deprived! Real fruit! Takes me back to a time when life was simple and food was good.
More tradition than treat, this place has been dishing icies since 1944. The flavors could be stronger and more natural.. but hey it's a creamy smooth treat that's stood the test of time right?... Right? Besides they refuse to mix flavours...
Well,. it's been there since 1946 ... That says a lot.. creamy, cold, but you know, .... I think they can do a better job since they have been doing this so long. Step up the game, add real fruit and to bottom it off, YOU CANT MIX FLAVOURS... Not going out of my way... When I can get much better sorbet at the grocery store!
I have lived in Queens my whole life and only recently got around to trying The Lemon Ice King of Corona. This was place was great! Flavors are awesome price is great. This establishment is a true landmark.
If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by and get any of the bazillion flavors. You won’t be disappointed!
If the weather is good take a load off on one of the many benches in the park across the street.
Beware parking in the area is very difficult. Be prepared to walk a few blocks to the store.
My bf and I went to get an ice after the Mets Game (who won!!). I ordered the Lemon and he ordered orange and grape. All three flavors tasted amazing! Its cheap but you can not Mix flavors. If you are in the nieghborhood and want a delicious treat go to this place highly recommended ! Yum!!
It's really great for after a big dinner. There is always room for icys.
Lemon is worth trying!
Mango is my fav
Suggestion: for one person to handle the money, so they don't have to continually wash their hands.
Costumer service is great!
Enjoy!
I grew up just a few blocks away in the 70's and remember walking with my parents to the store in the summertime. I remember "Joe's Candy Store" not far from there as well. Wonderful childhood memories...always a treat to grab an ice from there. Nice to know they're still in business.
I went there Monday evening. Very tasty, but I think an adult should be there at all times (there were teenagers behind the counter).
They were ok, but customer interaction could have been a little better (the person I was with spoke to them about an issue he had with his order and the kid just stared blankly back at him).
I usually give this place 5 stars, but that was not appropriate behavior for someone who is representing a business.
The best Italian ices EVER! This place is legendary. A great variety of flavors. The vanilla chocolate chip is a must! The best ever. GO NOW!!!
Started going here after my night drives to queens & it never fails to disappoint, the best italian ices you’ll ever have & a wide variety of flavors & you can also get pretty big sizes, parking can be hard to find tho
It was really sweet and artificial tasting. No real fruit pieces to be found. -- For mango, peach, and pina colada flavors.
The cups they use are so low-quality that if you don't scarf down your scoop within a few minutes it will disintegrate in your hand and make you sticky.
They need to revisit their standards.
Classic NYC ices. Famous place. Great people. Low prices
Cash only lovely prices for lovely icees
Pina colada is the best. Pineapple is good, too. Really good ices. Would recommend.
The staff is great and they have a lot of flavors. The best place for lemon ice a must for anyone and everyone. You must experience this at least once.
The Lemon King if Corona is fantastic! There is an extensive variety of flavors, it's so hard to pick one! I still have yet to try them all, but I want to!!! The sizes of the ices are pretty large and they also sell candy apples which is a pleasant surprise. The ices taste very natural and not artificial - the mango ice actually tastes like a real mango! I would highly recommend going here!
The area is a bit confusion so I suggest driving there if possible.
The best Italian ices in the world, i grow up in Corona and have been going there for 45 plus years. I moved away so everytime I go see my mom I pick up a 2.5 gallon of rainbow and bring it home.
Great place to get an awesome icee. There is a good selection to choose from and you can also but it in various sizes. They also sell freezer bags and candy apples. There is a small park you can go to across the street to sit and eat your icee. You can come here after having dinner at the Parkside
Still the king! So many flavors to choose from. Only $2.00 for the small size. Real pieces of fruit or nuts in the ices! Part of what makes Queens great for over 60 years.
This place is way legit.
After completing a Flushing Food Crawl—we came here for some desert. This place was great.
I had lemon and my son has mint chocolate chip.
We both loved it.
The place to go for cream ice. Used to visit on special occasions as a kid, so when I came back after so many years, I was prepared for disappointment. It was just as good as I remembered. I'm a vanilla chocolate chip fan, and no one else gets the vanilla strong enough. Yum. Looking forward to the next time.
The lemon ices really are all they're hyped up to be. The inside is unfortunately off-limits, but the old-school decor still gives it a nice feeling.
Watermelon flavor was off today. Something about the icees seems different in taste.
You walk up, you get a delicious icy. That's it. Enjoy it, it's great. You want ambience, a foot rub, and lofi hip hop? This isn't it. It's good old, "what do you want?" Greatness. Order one, stuff it into your mouth, shut up and go about your business. Queens all day, 6 days a week and twice on sundays!
The icees are delicious especially the watermelon and lime flavored, I just wished they mixed the flavors and took cards.
yet again another great neigborhood feel kind of store with amazing water and cream ices. open all night and no matter where you live in new york it's worth the trip. prices are great and you can buy a barrel if you can find room to fit it in your car or on the train lol. so many flavors to choose from so make sure to try them all.
Large selection of ices, most are quite tasty. Little fruit pieces in those flavored ices which add to it well. Always ask for napkins because it can get messy once it starts to melt.
THE BEST ITALIAN ICE IN NYC!
Absolutely amazing loved the Italian ice - some great flavor.
This is the place on king of queens where he drops is icy and they have to go back to get another one. We got the Rainbow Loom doing colada and Cherry... The Pina Colada and Cherry was amazing but the rainbow was not that great. It's a little pricey for a small amount but it's legit... I think it was like three or four dollars for a little cup but you have to try it.
Great ices in a multitude of flavors, but let me tell ya', 9 miles from Manhattan never felt so far from civilization. Just be sure you bring no expectations to this area before you go.
I come here throughout the summer and tried most of the flavors. I dont like that you cant mix up your flavors. My favorites are watermelon and mango. It can get busy but the lines move quick and the icies are very affordable.
The best ices I've ever had! So many lovely flavors and I thought they were artificially flavored with syrup, but my cantaloupe ice had several seeds in it.
Don't knock my Lemon Ice King. They are so Queens and a staple in the neighborhood. I go to them after my bike rides. I like the fruit flavors although tangerine really tasted like Tic Tac. Service is fast despite the crowds. No mix of flavors in one cup.
All the Favors are Delicious and Refreshing on a Summer night...You've tasted the rest... now go Taste The Best!
The teens that take and prepare the orders are EXTREMELY RESPECTFUL and Helpful. Uniforms and Hands are Always Clean. And You Never hear inappropriate conversations.
The real deal. I recommend the lemon after a big meal--very refreshing. The also sell tubs of the ice (a big hit at the graduation party i brought then to).
Their peanut ices is a REVELATION. I've driven 10 miles out of the way just to come here for the best ices in New York. Amazing place.
Been going here since the 80’s and it’s the absolute best Italian ice in the country. This is a historic landmark in NY.
I love the lemon ice king. It’s a must stop every time I’m in the area. Fruit cocktail is delicious
One of the best ices I've ever had. Only complaint is didn't see them using gloves a few times.
Unique NY institution. Where else can you indulge in pistachio ices with real nuts, rum raisin ices with actual raisins, watermelon ices with seeds(!), or even bubble gum ices with bits of bubble gum. Delicious on a hot summer night.
Many flavors, cheap prices, fabulous summer stop for families. Nearby an open bocce ball court, if you want to watch some free bocce action while you enjoy your ice. Smooth shaved ice and close to the 7 train and Citi Field.
This is absolutely the best Italian ice in the tri-state area. I love how the ice has pieces of whatever the flavor is in them. I wish they had a location in Houston.
Been here a few times and a real icy place. Old fashioned Italian ices.
The Lemon Ice King of Corona is a staple of Queens. With over 20 flavors to select from, you really don't know where to begin. I usually order mango, tangerine, pineapple, coconut, ices which come with chunks of fruit within each scoop. I have been a fan of this place since I was a little girl and we still make sure to come here every weekend during the summer. The neighborhood has transformed throughout the years but you still see older gentlemen playing bocce across the street.
I remember going to The Lemon Ice King of Corona decades ago and it was fantastic. The recipes must have changed because the ices are just OK now. Ralph's Ices are much better.
Best flavor is peanut butter hands down 👏 …
I been going here since the 60s
And I'm from the Bronx and I still try to go at least once a year and I'm still in the Bronx.
This is the best ice-cream haven't tried any of the food but I know it is yummy I even learned it in my class!
The lemon ice is always fresh (brings back memories of another time and place). A visit to this place has become a post-Mets-game tradition. I usually take home a pint to make lime rickeys (kids, ask your dads).
Loved this place since I first had their ices in the fifties. Make sure you get the fruit cocktail which has real fruit in it.
SIMPLY. THE. BEST. EVER. This place is an institution & the ices are still the best in NY. The fruit ices have pieces of fruit in them, the chocolate is almost like ice cream & of course the Lemon is superb.
Best place to visit after a Mets game! A tradition like no other
The best Italian Ices many memories summer's with my son and watching the Bocce Ball games across the street eating the Italian ices. Most tasty ices.
Best way to get to know Corona in Queens is to go to lemon ice king in Corona and get any flavor that you love and stop and see the old italian gentlemen playing bacci Ball in the Small Triangle park across the street... Then Stroll Into Flushing Meadows Park
Still the best I moved away from Queens 14 years ago and still go there any chance I get I now only eat sugar-free ice and there's is as delicious as the regular one they even gave me a free cup of the new orange sugar-free ice fantastic just like everything there and the people are genuinely nice who run the place
This ice is just amazing! Every flavor is great!
Tried fruit cocktail, mango and lemon; they were good (lemon could've tasted a lot better though), creamy texture and very affordable prices. Customer service was ok.
AGAIN Raised in CoronaThe Past Owner was my landlord Miss him and his Grandmother who was loved dearly by everyone who grew up by The Lemon Ice King of Corona Must try all the flavors like I did the only iceI don't like is Bubble Gum all others😋😋😋😋😋 …
Grew up living in the area, love this place for their great ices. Tons of flavors to choose from, and they all taste rich and great.
Solid, but had no lemon! Cherry was good. No mixing!
Best Italian iced in all of NYS anyone who taste there iced will tell u that from a 1 to 10 I give em a 20 that's how good they are you'll agree on that once u have one
This place is a nice diversion on a warm summer day. However, when you're used to Ralphs Ices at L.I. locations, this represents a significant step down. They're good, but Ralphs is a Bentley vs their Benz.
Driving through Corona, you have to make a pit stop to grab some Italian Ices at this spot.
No matter how cold or how hot it is outside, there's always time for some Ices.
They have a very huge selection of flavors. Not a lot of funky flavors, but they're just normal original classic flavors almost everyone can love.
Ordered the Pina Colada, Tangerine, and Cantaloupe. The pina colada would've tasted really great if it had some real alcohol in it (there's a bunch of liquor stores near by if you want to buy those small shot bottles and spike it; not like I did it, just saying).
The flavors all tasted real and nothing artificial that I can taste from. My cantaloupe Ices had a cantaloupe seed in it, I guess this is sort of solid proof that they use real ingredients.
Middle of nowhere, no much trains near by, but easily reachable if you transfer to a local bus from the subway station.
Been going here since I was a kid a wonderful holdover from when paul Simon sang about “ Rosie the queen of corona” in “ me and Julio down by the schoolyard”
Prefer lemon, they don’t Mix
There is no comparison to the factory Italian ices found in pizzerias and no this is not sorbetti
This is real New York as authentic as it gets
Great for a post Flushing authentic dessert
Very very reasonable
Parking is impossible but....
If you manage parking I suggest a walk over to the nearby park to watch the Bocce players ( NYC park)
These guys are Spanish speaking of Italian ancestry ...from Argentina and Uruguay
Love it
Only in NYC
Been going here for years since I was a kid, and now my children go here!! Mango Icy and Sour Apple, Peanut Butter, Coconut are my Family's favorites
Very amazing home made icees coming in several delicious flavors.Great serving size for equally great icees. I greatly enjoyed my visit and I would come again!
Insane flavor selection & reasonable prices. Best Icy's I've ever had. Though it draws a crowd, line moves fast
My eyes are gettin' weary,
My back is gettin' tight,
I'm sittin' here in traffic,
On the Queensborough bridge tonight,
But I don't care cuz all I wanna do,
Is cash my check and drive right home to you,
Cuz baby all my life I will be driving home to you
Best ices. So many flavors to choose. Most that I've tried are very good and not artificial tasting like some others out there
This place has the best IItalian Ice that I've ever had.. I grew up in NY and now that I live in AZ I make it a priority on my visit list when I come back.
A big assortment of Ices. Some flavors are better than others.
Their quality never fails. I have been going here since I was young especially when I was working at the museum as a teen. Classic Queens mainstay. I hope they are still here for years to come!
1/2 gallon of Cotton Candy to go, please! And yes, I’ll take the insulated bag for extra $1.
Benfaremos was and is, for the most part, the Italian tradition in Corona. If you grew up here, you'll remember the king just as you remember this part of Corona. You know the red striped Q23s, the blue striped B58s, the Redbirds in the distance on Roosevelt. The lumberyard, the window dealer, the Italian markets, the Precision calipers factory on 47th. You have Meet the Mets by heart, and the PS14 school song. You know where Corona pizza used to be before the move, Parkside is a wiseguy joint, and that the 4th of July fireworks in the triangle park was sponsored by them. Knowing that, you don't ever litter in that park, ever, since who knows who the guys playing Bocce are, they could be respectable men keeping an eye on things, capiche. Benfaremos has the best Lemon ice, period. Cold, tart, sweet, natural tasting and scooped by youths from a window in all seasons and all weather. You want to know what it means to have a perfect New York City summer's day? Old Muscle car with the radio turned up, hydrant splashing water on the corner, and that ice - in a paper cup.
Well, that was old school. Most of the goombahs moved onwards, and this part of Corona is nowadays Colombian/Ecuadorean/Mexican. however, if you look carefully, there are still a few Italian places left - Parkside is still quite good (and we are not questioning that claim, capiche?!), Leo's Mama Latticini on 104th makes a delectable sandwich, Corona pizza has a mean local Vinnie pie, and despite the fact that there are Empanada and Lechon joints all over, Benfaremos still scoop their ice the same way. Still taste cold sweet tart light and refreshing, and still a pride of Corona and our fair city. That 7-Eleven across the street selling squishees? Fugedaboutit, you want the lemon ice from Benfaremos. The only hometown ice sold in Local Vinnie joints in the five boroughs and in Citi Field.
This is the real deal, this is our slice of New York. Manhattan might have the money, the Bronx the street creds, Brooklyn might have the hipsters and the stroller mafia and Staten island might be the home of our bravest, but Queens? We have the World's Fair, the 7 train, and Benafaremos. The Mets might not be good all the time, but the ice sure is, and that's all we need.
Ever had flavored ice that contains REAL ingredients and pieces of actual fruit, nuts or candy? New exciting flavors with an old school dinner appeal
best ices in the city. the problem is what flavor to choose. they do not give tastes. worth a trip. we go to parkside restaurant for dinner, go to the park afterwards and watch bocci and walk across the street to corona ice king to get an ice. perfect evening.
There's a large selection of flavors and the ices themselves are refreshing without the flavor being overpowering. I definitely look forward to coming back when summer is in full swing.
This fine establishment is a neighborhood fixture! I can honestly say that I've NEVER had a tastier flavored ice, and the variety, than the ones made, and served here.
It's a Queens Classic summer evening - go to Lemon Ice King, stand on the line, it moves quickly, get ices (our favorites are tangerine and lemon) then take your ices and walk to the Bocce Courts across the street in the Triangle Park and Enjoy a nice game of bocce while people watching and eating delicious refreshing ices!
I mean, cmon! If your in nyc idc if you have 10 mins to spare. SPARE IT! Cherry, lemon or coco are my favorites. They can’t miss. For perspective ppl buy buckets of icee, in the dead of winter. Yup.
Great ices when you are in the mood for that water ice that has amazing flavor and cheap prices you come here and you will be refreshed love when I get the chance to go!
My all time favorite for a hot day. The perfect spot for a nice, refreshing Italian ice filled with fresh cut fruits. Yummy
There is no better Italian ice anywhere. A true New York classic that should be landmarked. The fruit cocktail ice is perfection.
All natural ices from a land mark in Corona Queens. And take your ices across the street to the park and play or watch Bacci Ball. A throw back to the neighborhood's cultural background
Absolutely the best Italian ices in NY
Seems like they've been there forever
Great ices. A lot of variety and tasty ices! Not too many places like this left.
Cool bit of authentic New York.
Best Italian Ices in Queens! Open late and in weekends. Dozens of flavors for your delight!
Always Loved The Lemon Ice King Of Corona Growing Up The Best Italian Ices In NYC Also Try They're Candied Apples You Won't Regret Your Visit
ive been to other italian ice places that people have said are good and none of them come close to the lemon ice king of corona. every flavor is great
Literally been coming here since I was a little girl I’m from the corona area this is the best place to get some iceys from especially because of the different varieties of flavors
Haven't been here since I was younger and going back recently reminded of my childhood. Great flavors get the large for the upcoming summer.
It wasn't that great as it used to be the customer service sucks there was one young man that never smiled or spoke it was wayyyyyy.better when the older men were their back in the days don't think I'll be GOING back by the way I had the apple it was NASTY!!!!!!!!
This is the best Italian ice I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend blueberry, orange-vanilla and peanut butter enough!
The workers were definitely rude but the icees were absolutely delicious as always.
I love this place! Never fails if in the middle of the winter I want an icy they are there for me
lemon ice king is one of the best ice cream place i know.you can try many flavors and add many stuff to them like m&m's . the people that serve you are really nice.is a really good place to go
i love this place! i live 2 blocks away and i go here on hot summer nights. this is mainly a place to just drive by, but it has a wide variety of icees.
The ices are addictive..and pretty well priced, I just wish it was easier to park
Ooooooohhhhh yeeeeaaaaa this is the king of all icee places hands down. They have like 50 flavors of icee goodness. Prices are great and they open till late.
Loads of flavors to choose from, always hits the spot any time of day.
It's best to know exactly what you want so that you can have your icee fast!
We grew up coming here. It's nice to see that it's just as good as in the 90's
The ices are great and are perfect on a hot summer's day. The candy apples are great when someone wants something sweet. Overall, great.
Classic Queens Italian Ice store. Lemon and berry are cool and refreshing. No mixing flavors in the same cup.
Been going here since I was a kid. No doubt on taste. Service is good and quick too.
Really good icee shop. The only thing that makes no sense at all is that they only have candy apples there for like 4 weeks in the spring in a whole year.
This is my childhood it's been 25 years I come here to get my icey and now my 4 year old son is making the same memories coming here. I will never eat icey from anywhere but here.
I dream of the day I get to go back! Yes, they sell large quantities to take home. Yummy, DELICIOUS !
Always the best.... Always the KING.... Come on down to our neck of the woods, the kids there are friendly and they have been serving our community for my 35 years of being in Corona!
The Lemon Ice King of Corona has the Most flavorful, and true-tasting ices out of all the Ice shops I'v ever been too! Definetly returning!!!
Pina Colada, Pineapple, and Green Apple are my go to at this place. Nothing beats the heat of the summer than a Medium cup of Frozen Nectar.
This place is good they have the best ice I had lime last time
Top notch. Great variety of flavors, very fresh flavor. Nice proximity to the park so it's nice to grab an ice and go for a walk.
Didn’t know I enjoyed Italian ices so much until I came here. Only problem would be that I can’t pick a favorite.
For me, these ices are the benchmark all other Italian ices have to measure up to. Wide selection of flavors. No mixing!
Excellent as expected. Many flavors to choose from.
Bed place to go to for ices. Large assortment of flavors and friendly service. My go to place after a Mets game.
Strawberry is delicious!! With a side of classic lemon flavor :) first time there and will definetly be back
Real taste and real fruit!! Loved the coconut flavor. Coming back to try others over this summer!!
Had the Mixed Fruit , totally awesome. Peach was just ok. Coconut was awesome
Highly recommend this place
Tastes so good and fresh❤️ Real good, real Queens!
Perfect stop in the summer. Grab an ice and watch the locals play bocce across the street =) Lemon/watermelon are my favorites
Best homemade ice flavors in town!!! This place is legendary and it is a MUST to visit and taste!!
Fabulous place. Ices in all flavors. Cute Italian guys. Good service, pleasant place.
Love this place, whenever I go back to NY I always return there. The only problem I have is I cant decide which flavor to get!
This is classic summertime NYC,nothing beats the heat like the perfect Italian ice. Consistent through n through, this place never gets old.
Only $2 dollars and you can enjoy the best piña colada ice cream.
A symbol of Queens New York, they earned that with their amazing ices. One taste and you will know why.
Best ices in New York ! Offer a wide variety of flavors.Parking is an issue
Stop here whenever in the area (Mets games or US Open tennis). Best Italian Ices anywhere.
I loved it. Can't wait to go back. It's bern years since I had an Italian ice.
It's been a few years since my last visit to Queens, couldn't leave without stopping in to The Lemon Ice King. Had to have my favorite, Peanut butter.
Good ices but they can be found in most parks in the city, thought there was a unique taste here....
The original Italian Ice. Ices made with the fresh fruit are beyond belief. Just remember: it's the Lemon Ice King. The peanut butter ices and the like are not going to be as amazing.
The place for ices and I've been going there since 1981 and they are still the best by far I highly recommend
Used to be Good n fresh..Had peach ice n it was imitation flavor!!
Love this place! Use to come here all the time when a was a kid.
My only down fall is that they are getting pricey.
Crazy good stuff!
Famous Queens staple. If you are visiting or not from Queens make sure you check this place out that has tons of delicious Ices
Had peach icee really good.3.00 for a medium size or 2 scoops
Great ice has been going to this place for years they need to stay open till 11 at night
The ices there are so flavorful..my goal is to try every flavor for this summer...50+ flavors
Had the watermelon & bubble gum. Both were delicious. I'd recommend coming here for icees!
Always a delicious classic lemon ice. Friendly fast service.
Amazing ices, cheap, And tons of flavors. Fruit cocktail is definitely a favorite
It's simply the place against which all other Italian ices should be judged (but will never match). All hail the (lemon ice) king!
I tried strawberry banana and i can't wait to go and try more. Delicious
Only complaint is that they don't mix flavors! Would like to try more than one at a time
Talk about old New York. I wish there was an italian ice stand like this in every neighbourhood. So many interesting flavours to try.
Nothing like it! Fruit cocktail is real fruit not just the taste of. IT IS THE BEST HANDS DOWN!
Unlike the imitations they made theirs from scratch. Their coconut has pieces of it inside ALL of the flavors are very very good!
Lemon Ice King is a real treat! The best water ice you will find in the country.
Best tasting Italian icees made with real fruit. Love this place.
Don't even dare come anywhere near this place without stopping!! Personal favorite is the peanut butter ice
Been going here since the 80s. No ices come close. Addicting.
Every time I'm in town this place is a must
Classic Queens institution. My only gripe is that you can't mix flavors. A bit restrictive for my taste.
G r e a t
Small cup bit high priced ?huh?
Been coming here since I was a kid and it's as good now as it was then! The peanut butter is amazing.
Great but neighborhood really not what it was before but I guess worth the trip no parking at all
Best lemon ice in all of Corona Queens.... Really hits the spot 🥳 …
Closest in quality lemon ice since my trip to Italy !!!
Dear God... get the lemon... delicious...
Delicious with a plethora of flavors. You can never go wrong with coconut flavor. Cheers all!
It has just the right amount of sugar in each icy not to sugary and not bland.
Best ices made from real fruit... best peanut butter, pistachio, cherry, lemon in the world!
Always a classic. You can't beat the real fruit flavors. Many to choose from but I stick with lemon and Pina Colada
I've been going to the lemon King for well over 20 years truly truly enjoy their ice he's truly

A landmark. I've been told that they make the ices themselves. They're delicious and very reasonably priced.

A True Queens Classic! The best and freshest Italian ices around!
