Reviews of Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co
Christine Bryant
It was great to see how chocolate is made from bean to product. Its very good chocolate without preservatives. The tour is amazing & the people there enjoy sharing about their company. The day we visited they had extra special chocolate samples to try with CBD. That was good also. And the caramels are to die for... I found the tour & shop on a website called Only in Your State for Tennessee since I was coming to visit Tennessee for the 1st time and wanted to visit places like this.
Eriks Fish
Absolutely incredible place! The staff member who we met while visiting was extremely personable and even gave us ideas of where to go while in Nashville! I highly recommend visiting and buying some of the Duck Fat caramels! You will not be disappointed!
Jessica Owens
We went on the chocolate tour. The factory is small, but it is charming. I am not a fan of dark chocolate, so my options were limited. Overall it was a great experience
Lena Korzhevska
This is fantastic chocolate place for the chocolate fans like i am. Quality is just top notch!!! Great ingredients (only beans and brown sugar and that’s it). A bit pricey, but it is worth it for sure! And the packaging is just incredible! Love it!!!
Timothy Campolo
Essentially, an awesome place to visit and see essentially what they do to make chocolate. Essentially the tour was a fun experience.
Michael
Ordered online and visited twice when in Nashville. Had a very nice conversation with the owner Scott and a memory for life. Very nice man and excellent products. Must stop in if you are In Nashville. The duck fat Caramels are a must have. Still have other products to try and I'm sure they will be great.

Just wow: we wondered in this morning to what could only be described as a southern Willy Wonka chocolate factory, just with more charm and character. The whole decor and branding is classic, reminiscent of the 1920's in a fun way. Smells amazing, too!
We spoke with Jason, who could not have been kinder. Makes you think what the world could be like if everyone treated strangers like that. The chocolate is phenomenal. Will come back for a Saturday tour, and to bring out-of-towners. All in all a really ~sweet~ place, definitely worth the visit.
Joanne Kennedy
Great to meet Scott today and learn more about his route to chocolate.
The shop is fab and the chocolate delicious. Especially loving the sea salt and vinegar caramels!
This place is a MUST visit for choc lovers.
Thanks so much!!
Dave and Jo from UK !!
Ryan Linkous
Had a fantastic experience on a Saturday tour. Just $5/person on the weekends and includes a tasting. It’s best to reserve your spot online. They create some truly unique flavors and textures. The chocolate itself is a bit of a novelty to purchase, but the tour is a great value.
Jessica Pulcifer
$5 each for a tour. Worth it! Our guide was super nice! Was great at explaining how they made it from bean to bar. You walk out with a better appreciation of how it's all done. You also get samples of the chocolate, which were all unusual but tasted great! A must stop!!!
Joy Bee
On my last day in Nashville, I took a quick tour at Olive & Sinclair. The tour is only $5 and takes about an hour. It's a must do if you have time to squeeze it in. They give you plenty of samples during the tour... All the more to get you addicted so you buy their chocolate at the end of tour. Worked on me, lol.
My favorites were the Bourbon Nib Brittle, Smoked Nib Brittle, and Buttermilk White Chocolate. I don't even like white chocolate so that says a lot that it was one of my favorites.
The staff is great, super friendly and you learn a lot during the tour. Quite impressed that they still make chocolate in this store versus an extremely large factory.
Offroadjk
Amazing little place. We had happened upon this place through a subreddit and saw that it was only $5 a tour. Why not?
We’re so glad we did! The tour was well worth the small price as well as learning about how chocolate is made.
As far as the chocolate goes, this is completely different from anything I’ve ever had! I highly recommend even sampling the chocolate if you ever happen upon this place.
Jessie Knowles
Take the tour! Really interesting look into how chocolate is made. Friendly, knowledgable staff and interesting info.
diazsce
My second visit, they're a cool bunch. Love the unique chocolate and caramel chews there. Their chocolate tour is a fun one!
Melissa Sarduy
Cocoa-mazing! You're hit with the delicious smell as soon as you open the door. The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. They explained the process, spoken proudly, showing us the cocoa beans roasting, the Lindt machine, and the international machines, from 1907, that mix the decadent chocolate. We tasted pretty much all the delicious flavors - my favorite was the sea salt chocolate! You bet we had to bring many of those bars home for later!
Mark Williams
This is a small shop near the Five Points District. It is a combined retail and production facility. The facility itself is a newly remodeled older building. The staff was nice, knowledge, and helpful. The had samples available of the different products to try, and everyone was amazing!!
Kathy Mode
Bought some O&S chocolate from a grocery last time we were in Nashville. Loved it so much, we decided to do the factory tour on our next time in town which was yesterday. What a fun time we had learning all about how it's made, how flavors are created, and even got to taste it! The smell alone was worth the trip 😋! Highly recommend it if you're a chocolate lover, especially dark chocolate!
Courtney Gunter
The chocolates and caramels were amazing, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. We got 1 of almost everything. I love small businesses, so when I travel I am always looking for new places to go to. Very happy I found them. Will be stopping again on my next trip through Nashville.
Steph Pariano
Their chocolate has quickly and easily become my absolute favorite! It’s amazing that it only has two ingredients and is made in a hundred and fifteen year old stone grinder. If you are there on a Saturday, go on a tour to see how they make it! You won’t be sad about a visit here!
Jessi Hatfield
I cannot rave about this place enough. I haven't had anything from them that is not delicious. My favorites are the coffee chocolate bar and the duck fat caramels!! Super cute building and love you can see the process. Staff are friendly and knowledgable.
Access information: Street parking is amble and there is also an accessible parking space at the delicious cafe diagonal. No stairs to enter, spacious and open on the inside.
Katherine Clark
Vegan chocolate options, friendly staff and free tastings of their selection. I walked out with 3 bars!
Susie Youngson
Great 45 minuet tour! We learned a lot and had fun. Fabulous gift shop. Try the white chocolate!
Heather H
We were visiting Nashville for our anniversary in April and stayed at an Airbnb, which was right across the street from this sweet little chocolate shop! This was the first place we visited when we got into town. I must say that the lady who was working was so nice, hospitable, and generous. She set the mood for our entire trip. We purchased some chocolates and neat little glasses, and she was so incredibly sweet to throw in an extra gift for our anniversary!! How great is that?!?! She even wrote down some good areas to park for our visit downtown. I can’t give this place enough stars!!! I want them to know how appreciative we were for their hospitality!! If you’re planning on visiting Nashville, be sure to check this place out!! They are awesome!

Wow... just Wow!
Off the charts delicious house made chocolate. Located in a little old building in Nashville’s hip Eastside, they are a retail shop and factory all in one. They offer tours of exactly how they make their unique confectionary offerings like ... Duck Fat Caramel, Chocolate aged in Bourbon Barrels and an amazing thing called Chocuterie (think of a salami roll that is made of chocolate & dried strawberries).
I Love their “Seersucker” line of sea salt dark chocolate, cherry cordials and salted bourbon caramel. The packaging is creative, old school design that make for great gifts. We took some of the Chocuterie to the beach this past summer and it was a big hit.
Awesome friendly staff and really cool place located right in the neighborhood. You can shop on line, but you really need to do yourself a favor and Check it out in person.
Jessica Hale
Great little tour very informative and lots of samples. Amazing local chocolate and confections.
Shawn Hostettler
One of best local chocolates I have ever had.
Will Powers
The best the best!!! All of my clients loved the chocolate I sent as gifts. I did also. Truly artisan and I loved the shop. Cool place and neighborhood
Tyler Brown
The tour was great. The tour guide was very entertaining and informative. There were samples throughout the entire chocolate making process. When first arriving, the place seems old and small, almost like a house, but it's worth taking a look inside. The tour is well worth the cost. Buy the Smokey Nib Brittle. It's amazing. 5/5 would recommend
tim williams
This locally run small town establishment is amazing. Please visit. I did and I loved it. FYI the duck fat carmels are so good. My new favorite. Oh and the chocolates are amazing. The smells well yum. A must visit when in Nashville. Small and totally worth it
Sabina Okanovic
This amazing little gem has some of the best chocolate I've ever had. If you're in town on a Saturday I highly HIGHLY recommend the tour of their small factory. It's only $5 a person, but you have to order tickets in advance. The staff is a small crew of mighty chocolate makers, who absolutely love what they do, and telling you the history of their product. Even if I don't go on a tour again, I'll definitely be back for more chocolate, also on the lookout for it here at home!
Claire Nichols
The brittle is amazing! I ate the whole box in 10min! Oops haha. On a serious note the staff is super friendly and nice and just a joy to be around!
Jeremy Searcy
Great little factory. Great history. Tour is very quick and very short on samples. Tour guide was nice and very knowledgeable. We didn't realize that this particular chocolate factory didn't do normal sweet chocolate. My wife didn't care for their type of chocolate. But that's all our fault. We should have looked into that. Most people really love their product. Their chocolate is unique in a very cookie cutter industry. Great packaging design on their products. Prices are high. More than we were willing to spend.
Alex
Took a tour a few days ago and it was so worth it! I went to Hersey not to long ago and was super disappointed as we did not actually enter any factory, and this is just the opposite. It was very informative and fun. Only complaints are the tour was a bit crowded, and I also just don't personally like dark chocolate so most of the taste tests ended with a bad taste in my mouth. Regardless, if you have even a remote interest in chocolate-making come here and get a tour!
Nora Osorio
I went here with some friends to do a $5 dollar tour. The tour is worth the $5 just for trying the gourmet samples. It is a small operation that works with other small businesses for their final product. On top of the tastings, the tour gets you $5 off a purchase of I think $30 so if you make a purchase you basically get your money back. Obviously the products are expensive, but the quality is good. It is important to me to spend money on local business and business that supports fair trade practices. If buying products isn't in your budget, the $5 tour is a fun and very cheap way to learn about something new (how they make chocolate) and of course try some gourmet goodies. The duck fat caramels are bomb!
Alex Kult
I recommend taking the tour. It was very interesting and provided some very tasty samples.
Jessica Husted
Not at all what we expected. We thought chocolate shop lots of different chocolate. Nope. Bars and brittle mostly. Cool thing is you can see the process of them making chocolate. Wouldn't make an across town trek for.
Allyson Adame
We love chocolate and try all the local places but this one was not a winner for us. It's a really cool place and I wanted to like it but didn't find any of the samples very appetizing. The bourbon bombs were very tasty and I picked some up, but overall very pricey.
Honey Ferguson
Love Olive & Sinclair! I have been on the tour a few times and it's such a unique place to see. Their dedication to their craft is shown in the fantastic attitudes that they share each time we have visited. Delicious sweets made by wonderful people!
Nicholas Gregory
The bar was set extremely high for this place. I am from Birmingham and had watched Unique Sweets where this chocolate company was featured. They BLEW AWAY my expectations. We walk in and the staff was very friendly and welcomed us like friends. We got a variety of chocolate, caramels and their chocolate and cherry filled confections. I am Thankful you can order to their chocolate online and have it delivered to Birmingham. If you come to Nashville or live here, you absolutely HAVE to visit Olive and Sinclair Chocolate Company. I truly appreciate the staffs customer service.
Matthew Sullivan
Wonderful local chocolatier, in an antique-decor shop. They offer tours on Saturdays, which I highly recommend! The staff is very friendly and courteous and can help you find just the right flavor profile, and there are plenty of gift options.
Daniel Jones
Awesome chocolate factory in East Nashville. Hidden in the fatherland neighborhood, this artisan chocolate shop offers several varieties of chocolate bars as well as brittle and unique caramels. They offer tours on Saturdays which is definitely worth the 5 bucks. If your looking for hand crafted artisan chocolate then this is the place. My favorite is the sea salt bar.
amanda Gregory
Must see while in Nashville. Offer tours of the factory on Saturday have to buy tickets online at five dollars a piece. You get to see the whole process from bean to bar. Free samples of thier products as well through the tour. You get the background and history of thr company and its owners. Even great for young kids. If you love chocolate you have to visit and take the tour. Its a nice treat while in Nashville.
Teresa Lukey
We were just passing through Nashville and had a day to check things out. I had previously seen mention of the place elsewhere, so I thought it worth a try. If you are looking for unique chocolate combinations that are not sickeningly sweet, then this is the option for you. I dare say that I tried almost everything they had. My favorites were the SMOKED NIB BRITTLE, DUCK FAT CARAMELS, and the CHERRY BOMBS. I would've like to have tried the Sea Salt & Vinegar Caramels, but they had none to try when I was in.
If you are looking for a great gift for the dark chocolate lover in your life, check out their website, as they have gift packs and samplers.
Laura Batey
Hoping to book a tour, but failed. I love to learn more about baking, chocolates (candy making), etc. Still planning to visit. Now that I know about this place, I'll try to book earlier next time.
Jasmine W
They have amazing chocolate. If you're anything like me and you love dark chocolate this the spot for you. I went on a tour of the place it smelled heavenly. I really love that you can try the chocolate before committing to the bar. The sea salt and pepper bar sounds odds but trust me its good stuff.
Lynn Harris
Had such a fun time on the tour with my children. Will do again. The smoked chocolate was really good, in fact all was way above any normal chocolate. You can tell they really take pride in what they do and I will be coming back. After tour went to Pastaria and got some dark chocolate gelato made with Olive and Sinclair chocolate. What a fun day
Will Dodson
Fantastic place and love their candy. The people that work there are the best! The bourbon nibs are a particular favorite!
Brian Odencrantz
You want to visit a true Willy Wonka style place. Then go here. Truly some of the best chocolates and confections I have ever had. The team is wonderful and you won't leave empty handed.
Jonathan Vest
While the tour itself was chocked full of savory morsels of knowledge, Paige, our chocolate docent, took the experience to another level! Her humor was a 10/10 and knowledge paralleled her wit. Oh, the chocolate samples weren't bad either.
Gary Peters
This is a great gift for family and friends. I can’t say I love all of there crazy flavors but I do love the fact that they experiment. It can be a bit hit or miss but they are very open to letting you try until you find what works best for you
Almira Pasic

Molly Buchanen

Bonnie MacDonald
I wanted to try their chocolate ever since I heard about them on the Alton Browncast. My family gave me a whole bunch of their chocolates for my birthday since I don't live anywhere near Nashville - all are creative and amazing. They've got lots of items to try. The chocuterie is a standout, very fudgy and rich and decadent. Honestly, though, my favorite is the salt and vinegar caramels, and I do not usually enjoy salt & vinegar flavors. These, however, are completely incredible. Check them out!
Paige Spence
The chocolate here is supurb! Once you try their chocolate it will be hard to go back to the other brands. The tour is also great to take if you have the time.
Shannon Little
The tour guide was super informative and entertaining! The samples were delicious! Can't wait to come back and try the peppermint bark this winter!

I bought 5 different bars of chocolate…😋 It was that good! I appreciated how the owner allowed visitors to sample as many pieces of chocolate and caramels as we like. The caramels with ghost pepper were my favorites. The vinegar one also had a very clean taste. I’d have to say that these are the best caramels that I’ve had. I love how the brown sugar adds depth to the chocolate. Their white chocolate is the best I’ve ever had. I typically have white chocolate, but I couldn’t resist buying a bar. I like how the coffee chocolate bar was not gritty or overwhelming with the coffee flavor but still showcased the chocolate. The owner is very friendly and warm. I appreciated that he gave a slight discount for paying in cash. I’m definitely coming back on my next trip to Nashville.
