Amazingly good ice cream with some really cool flavor choices! There are some ice cream flavors you wouldn't think of, but in the form of ice cream are awesome! Super nice atmosphere and great coffee also.

This one's a doozy so let's break it down into three categories: The Good, The Bad, and The Funky. The Good: - You're supporting a small, local, LGBTQ-owned business. It's so important for us to uplift and support community spaces like these. - The coffee service is amazing & the cinnamon rolls are to die for. - Everyone who works there is super friendly, chatty, and they seem to enjoy their work (good sign). - The atmosphere and interior design is on-point. They really embrace the rustic feel of the building. - They support their community by selling art from a local artist and collaborating with local bakeries and distilleries. - They offer a fair selection of vegan and vegetarian food as well. The Bad: - It's pretty expensive. Their menu does explain the 15% service charge but it's always a bummer to order what you think is two $6 ice cream cones and your end total, before tip, is $17. They say gratuity is not required, but we all know food service workers don't get paid enough. - The ice cream is good... but not worth the price. It's all made in-house, which is really cool considering they have some really unique flavors— but then you are told they are almost all made using flavor extracts which, personally, takes the magic away. With ice cream giants in Minneapolis like Milkjam and (formerly) Izzy's who have always been loud & proud of their use of high quality, fresh ingredients, Fletcher's Ice Cream just kind of tastes cheap in comparison. - The soups are really inconsistent. You can see there's a water heated food-warmer unit on the counter, but I've never seen it be used for anything— especially not for keeping soup warm. My friends and I have ordered soup from here and it's always inconsistently cold, lukewarm, or has undercooked elements. Definitely avoid the soup unless they start putting it in the warmers (keep an eye out). The Funky: - Nobody who works there seems to know what's going on or at least taught the same things. Like I said, everyone is super friendly and great, but the knowledge they have on what's in ice cream, where certain items are sourced from, or even how some items are prepared. Namely, the tea options. I always get a different batch of answers, even from different employees on the same day. I asked a lot of questions on various visits and always got different answers for the same question. - Branching off my previous point, there is some menu incongruity. They say they sell apple cider, but I was told they don't make that anymore. There are also some ice cream their menu says they have, but they actually don't. - The owners (the two, clearly oldest/adult employees) are kind of kooky. It's not a bad thing— they're just a little strange, personally. From what I've seen they're both very professional and nice, but yeah. A bit kooky. I suppose it adds to the atmosphere. Overall, Fletcher's Ice Cream & Café is a welcome staple to the neighborhood that needs our support, there are just some food service inconsistencies and issues that need to be ironed out. There's a lot of potential here and I'm hopeful they will up their ice cream game.

Delicious ice cream, unique flavors-I got flix and chill (buttered popcorn flavor with black lava sea salt on top) and cinnamon pop tart(tasted just like it) and my daughter got horchata (right on). There's a cool cow to take photos with, great employees and service. Would love to come back with the pups sometime, they have pup cups and bones for sale. Fresh made waffle cones, I got the chocolate dipped with sprinkles, yum! I can't wait to come back and try the waffle with pulled pork and cole slaw on top.

Customer service was great. Ordered the waffle with Nana Nilla icecream on top and it was frikkin amazing! Also ordered the peppermint Latte and it was way better than the Caribou stuff. So if you're craving something sweet or savory I would definitely recommend this place.

We met Fletcher and they are one of the sweetest people in all of our time here in Minneapolis! We had two delicious pint of the XXX Chocolate and the Malt Vanilla and they both were delicious! The Malt Vanilla was a slightly softer consistency and had a similarly softer flavor. This one was my favorite of the two, which comes as no surprise as it came recommend by Fletcher themselves. If you are a lover of the flavor of malted milk, I would highly recommend this flavor. It would make a great take home treat, especially if blended together with fresh strawberries as a strawberry malt milkshake! The XXX Chocolate was a harder ice cream, no doubt in part due to the sheer amount of chocolate absolutely CRAMMED into it! I usually pass on just straight chocolate ice cream due to the overwhelming flavor of usually lackluster chocolate, but Fletcher has really leaned into the chocolate flavor and made this ice cream down right fudge! It is so rich and thick you would be forgiven for thinking you're eating refrigerated fudge if it wasn't for the silky and creamy texture. Fletcher's Ice Cream is an absolute STAPLE here in Minneapolis and I cannot wait to see their business flourish when I next make my return to the city. Thanks Fletcher!

Went here last night with my family for my sister’s birthday and wow, what a treat! Such a wonderful hidden gem in the Northeast neighborhood and some very delicious ice cream flavors! Try the Ube when available, not only is it vegan but it DEFINITELY didn’t disappoint (I loved the vibrant purple color that even stained my tongue purple in the process)! 🤤🍦💜

used to live in NE mpls and absolutely LOVED going to Fletcher’s! always a wide variety of flavor options for ice cream and other treats- you can’t beat it🍦 don’t even get me started on the lemon poppyseed flavor…so good! not to mention i had a custom ice cream cake made for my fiancé’s birthday which lasted no time at all lol highly recommend to anyone that hasn’t been!

Fletcher's, you saucy minx, with your mix-ins, your daily specialty ice cream, and small-batch ice cream. You need to RELAX before I MOVE HERE just so I can come here every day. For real. We got the classic fudge sundae and the waffle with a scoop of ice cream. you get to choose the ice cream flavor in these and we got sweet cream and cheesecake, respectively. INSANE. This is a CLASSIC ice creamery that makes you feel like you're in Pleasantville. They also have other treats like kumbacha, chips, and they have a lunch menu that looked BANGIN'. WORTH IT.

I enjoyed the 1800 flavor ice cream, I tasted the pistachio. It was lovely as well. I will be going back to try more menu items. They are open 7 days a week from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm *11/11/18 I tried lemon poppyseed ice cream... So delicious. We also brought home a pint of Nutella ice cream, Exceptional flavor!

They are in a great location on Marshall with on and off street parking. We went there just for ice cream and noticed they had a small selection of fresh flavors to choose from (in a bowl or on a sugar cone). They also have sandwiches that looked tempting but it was not the right time off day. My son had a cookies and cream cone and claimed it "was far better than dairy queen!" The price for one scoop on a cone was about $5. Pretty pricey for little quantity. I'll return to try sandwiches someday!

Wonderful little place that serves ice cream, wonderful waffles, sandwiches, soups, baked goods, and delicious coffee! They are dog-friendly in the warmer weather as well, with outdoor seating and seating inside the building separated from the actual restaurant with a big roll-up door and they serve doggy ice cream!

Found this cute little shop after a day out in the park. Ice cold ac, cute decor and some great tasting ice cream. Got a double scoop of lemon zest and black plague (blackberry), my friend got to coffee chip. The dairy free options have more of a granita consistency than sorbet, and the flavor is fanominal. The coffee chip has a great coffee flavor without be too overpowering. 4 stars because there was a slight dusty smell and bathroom wasn't finished, hope to come back soon to see the place finished and 5 star worthy :)

Delicious waffle. We got the s'mores waffle as an after dinner dessert and I got a kids scoop of dark chocolate ice cream. My 12 year old son said he was really full and only wanted a bite but ate most of the ice cream. Then complained his stomach hurt. But, after my husband and I ate half the waffle, he pretty much ate the rest. That's how good it all was.

Very good ice cream! My wife and I love finding small ice cream shops that make their own ice cream. I had the vegan birthday cake and my wife had a scoop of the coffee chip ice cream and a scoop of the strawberry. Both were very good. We did not realize that they also serve baked goods, sandwiches and waffles. We will definitely be back to try more things next time.

Holy cow (see what I did there?), their new sorbets are wonderful! I did a combo with the passion fruit mango and watermelon, and it was such a perfect combination of flavors and completely refreshing. Also, their doggy ice cream is a very decent serving, so it makes it worth the money. Service is always friendly and the place is always clean. Wish I could upload a picture, but I got too excited!

Very cool space, and much larger than I thought it would be. Plenty of seating inside and even some tables out front on the patio too. Ice cream was fantastic! Highly recommend the cheesecake flavor, it's nice and thick and rich. Lots of traditional flavors to choose from and a few more creative ones. Will have to try the food and coffee next time!

So glad to find this little gem while visiting MN after grabbing lunch. Did not know it was a former limo garage! The interior is very cool and spacey, with plenty of seats/tables to enjoy your treat. It's always pleasant to smell the sweet waffle cone scent when you walk in. Loved the giant connect 4 and other games to play with your friends. Their menu is quite extensive (even have waffles/coffee/treats) and of course you can request to try some flavors before placing your order. We got the non-dairy birthday scoops on a cone and decadent chocolate shakes, and they were all quite delicious. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great first visit!

So good! Best waffle cone my wife had ever had; Belgian waffle with ham and cheese and hollandaise? Light, savory, outstanding. Perfect appetizer for the Whiskey Carmel apple Belgian, one of the top deserts I have ever had. And the personable service was the icing on top, well done y’all!! (Compostable to-go boxes, even the cutlery was compostable! These folks are doing it right)

This is a wonderful place with a sweet treat for everyone any time of day. They have a great selection of coffee, waffles, pastries and ice cream. My favorite is the non dairy ice cream options. They don’t just have the usual sorbet option, they create in store, the creamiest vegan ice cream I have ever had (local or store bought included). Big shout out to the staff as well. They are always kind and will let you sample to find your perfect scoop. Thank you to Jason for making a fresh batch of birthday cake ice cream, it is simply the best vegan ice cream in the metro!

Good stuff! My daughter was SO MAD her ice cream was finished because she never wanted it to end. For vegans, they have one flavor option per day and it rotates, so that can be luck of the draw, but this is quality desert and a patient helpful staff.

Great place, great atmosphere, something for everyone! We had wild white chocolate, and I think it was coffee chocolate chip, and that margarita sorbet would have been the best thing on the last of these hot summer days, SO much flavor packed into what seems like such a simple treat, but Fletcher seems to rock everything he's doing here. I was seriously impressed by this entrepreneur willing this place into existence, it is a TREASURE. Vegans, have no fear, there's a variety for you to choose from, too. The employees seemed to love their job too, and on a subdued Sunday of a holiday weekend, that's not always the case. I can't wait to get back there with an empty stomach so I can try even more deliciousness.

It is always a treat when we go to Fletcher’s their ice cream is delicious as they make it with the freshest ingredients, their ice cream isn’t the only star of the show as they make fresh breakfast items and waffles. They are always considerate of the communities needs offering Vegan, Dairy-Free and Vegetarian options. They are doing an amazing job with COVID-19 precautions, with curb take-out options, putting place markers on the floor 6 feet away, allowing four people at a time in the store. Fletcher always takes time to share a quick word or two and we love to stop by.

Today was just my second visit and I was very pleased. First visit was for a freshly home-made cinnamon roll w/icing. I dare say my mom would have been proud to serve rolls like this. And she made GREAT caramel -nut cinnamon rolls. Second visit was for a bowl of home-made (not a mix) split-pea with ham soup. "Fletch" was very generous with the ham pieces and I was very happy to find that it wasn't as salty tasting as some can be. (My cardiologist would approve.) It is not totally convenient to my south suburban residence, but I think it's worth the time to get there. Planning on going there the end of this week with friends for a birthday desert. Friendly staff, too. 😁 (I had a Steam and Cream waffle for desert. Happy tummy. 😁)

My husband and I could not believe how amazing this place was! The atmosphere was hip and clean, the owners are so welcoming to everyone and seemed to have a lot of regulars, and customer service went above and beyond. You can tell that they put 100% into everything they do at Fletcher’s Ice Cream. The waffle was the best savory waffle we’ve ever had (huevos rancheros), the ice cream was the best ice cream we’ve ever had (cookie dough and pistachio), and the coffee was to die for.. which says a lot because we’re extremely picky about our coffee! You will not regret going to Fletcher’s! They also have a dog friendly patio AND doggy ice cream. We will definitely be back!!

The lemon poppy seed ice cream was excellent. I needed dinner so also tried the BBQ pork waffle, which was enhanced with some syrup. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking lot on the North side of the building, with street parking too. I will return!

Perhaps the best ice cream in the Twin Cities - kinda dense ice cream with smooth, velvety texture; both basic (for example vanilla and chocolate) and creative (lavender and tea, anyone) flavors. To top it off, the staff are super cool. Nice location with convenient parking.

I love ice cream and I was so excited to try Fletcher’s ice cream. I really liked the interior and outdoor seating. The flavor options were nothing out of the ordinary. However, the biggest issue was the ice cream’s taste and texture. It wasn’t super flavorful and there was a bit of a chalky texture. I think with a bit of work on the texture and more interesting flavors, this place has a lot of potential.

This is by far in my top 3 Ice cream places in the Cities! Beside traditional flavors (which are amazing) I truly enjoy they Chai, London Fog, Lemon Poppy Seed and Pistachio flavors! They also have a flavor specially made for your dog - so bring your fluffy one for a treat!

EDIT: the more I come to Fletcher's, the more I appreciate their flavors. I just tried Mexican chocolate Stout and OMG it is amazing! Definitely five star! Good ice cream shop. Wasn't terribly impressed with any of the flavors but it was yummy enough.

The staff here are friendly and quick. I was running low of battery on my phone and when I asked if they had a public charging spot they did not but offered to let me borrow their personal charger. I wouldn't say they would offer this to everyone in every situation - I was the only customer in the store and I was getting my hair done next door. In any case the staff was very thoughtful about my tea - recommending a different cup so the lid fits better and offered to put in if cube when they noticed how hot it is. Highly recommend! The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. :)

I visited here and tried the cuban panini along with the 1800 and XXX chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cones tasted so fresh, and I lvoed the unique ice cream flavors that were also delicious. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere here as well!

Never have I had a chai latte that was spiced to my satisfaction until today. By the time I walked down the sidewalk a ways I had upper lip sweat and a runny nose even though it was a crisp fall day. I had to walk with my mouth open to let my fire breath escape and cool my tingling mouth. I was beginning to think it wasn’t possible, that chai lattes were just supposed to be mildly spiced milk, but this one blew me away. It smacked me over the head with its spice powers. Ran me over with its flavor potential. I went home and journaled about it. Thank you to the employee with shaved blonde hair that made a spicy chai latte on Nov 5 at noon. Let me start by saying I have always really enjoyed Fletchers. My first time there, I had their amazing lemon poppyseed ice cream and couldn’t shut up about it for months. Truly one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. This summer we made it a point to do coffee rotations throughout the neighborhood and Fletchers easily had the best cold brew. But THE CAPPUCCINO. The cappuccino has driven me to write a review raving about this place. If you enjoy cappuccinos, you know how difficult it is to find a consistently good one. Yesterday my boyfriend brought me one in the morning and I’m not joking when I say I yelled out for joy after taking my first sip. I had to try it again today just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, and my god it wasn’t! Couldn’t recommend giving your business to Fletchers enough. Everything we’ve gotten from here has been nothing less than amazing.

We are new to the area and have been to Fletchers a few times now. Our first experience was pretty extraordinary - we didn't realize they weren't open but the door was unlocked so we went inside. The person working gave us a pint of vegan birthday cake ice cream, which was incredibly generous. It was also damn delicious. We have since enjoyed their dairy ice cream as well as their waffles and coffee drinks. Nothing has fallen short of superb. The ice cream is easily the best we've had in the entire metro area. They have a nice mix of sweet and savory waffles (the huevos rancheros is particularly good) and the lattes put some of the better coffee shops in the area to shame. They even feature a dog-friendly ice cream option for furry companions. Last but not least the service is fantastic. Incredibly friendly staff that make coming to Fletchers a joy. Worth a trip to Northeast any time of the year!

Overall, a bit underwhelmed. I was super excited to try this new little shop so close to home. I left feeling a bit disappointed. Let's start with the good. The vanilla ice cream is AMAZING. Easily one of the best vanillas I've had. Fletchers offers a few unique flavors including Golden Gears which stars turmeric and ginger. The sundaes came in 1 or 2 scoop options in a cute little cup with a giant heap of whipped cream and a cherry. Which leads me to the big disappointment. Hot fudge, or should I say lack there of. Clearly on the menu for $7.79 is a single scoop hot fudge sundae with the option to add additional toppings for $.99 each. The extra $.99 got me 7 slices of fresh strawberry...one strawberry. And no hot fudge. I asked if it had been forgotten and the guy added more of the chocolate syrup that was drizzled across the whipped cream. He asked if that was better and explained they don't have hot fudge, he was unaware hot fudge was on the menu. Its Ghirardelli syrup that they use for both the ice cream and the coffee. Not hot, not even warm. Super disappointed. I'll come back for a scoop, but only cones going forward as the $4 extra for whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and one strawberry is not worth it. The ice cream also seemed super hard and all the staff was struggling to form complete scoops. I'll be back to give it another try and see how it goes.

Stopped by here with coworkers on a hot May afternoon. I tried the Birthday Cake (vegan) and the Cocoa Caliente in a double scoop. Being gluten and dairy free myself, both flavors tasted great and left me feeling satisfied and not uncomfortable at all. :-) The service was great - Jason Fletcher is a very friendly and pleasant person. This is one of those little places that is highly underrated. Still in the first year of business at the time of this review but i have been here multiple times and there is absolutly nothing wrong with this place. The food is fantastic, decor is strange and unique in a very interesting way, Owner and employees could not be more friendly, and there is actually a parking lot available on the side. The negative reviews are minor thi gs that are simply little things to tweak that always come along with new bus8nesses bit nothing close to dealbreakers by any means.
