Phenomenal place. Great burgers for the price, but know that they are HUGE. You could easily split a burger with someone else. The fries are decent, but could definitely use more salt. Not to mention the custard is fantastic. And the outside area is very cute as well. Inside is only stand up tables, and outside are only benches without tables. But the experience was nothing short of amazing. Staff are super kind as well! If I’m in the area I will definitely consider stopping by again!

Kopp’s Frozen Custard is a delicious restaurant. The burgers are juicy with fresh ingredients, and the fries are fluffy and salty. The custard is very good; creamy and lots of choices. One of the best things about this place are the prices. It is very cheap and they give you a lot of food for your money. However, there are no tables or chairs. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a burger or some custard.

Really neat place for. Inside you order custard and/or food then outside you eat in a walled off area with a waterfall. Custard was great. The seemingly random vibe was really cool. I’d definitely come back. Would be a fun place to meet up with friends.

We come to WI once in a while mostly visiting the Public Market and especially St Paul's. Since we live in downtown Chicago, unless the food is worth it we won't make the drive. We decided to give this place a try after visiting the Public Market and seeing the high ratings with over 8000 reviews. It is not easy to find old school frozen custard places these days unless you are out in the sticks. We didn't make it the first time around since it was a hot day and the line was out onto the street, but we made it the second time around. There was no wait on the custard side so it was quick. This review is for the frozen custard only, not sure about the burgers and other foods but burgers are just burgers, fries are just fries. What makes frozen custard different from ice cream is just the egg yolk, which gives the richer, thicker and creamier texture. This place does it nicely, but no wow factor whatsoever. There are only 2 standard flavors (vanilla and chocolate) plus the flavors of the day, butter pecan and cherry cycle, 4 flavors total. I guess you just have to come on a different day for the more exotic flavors like Red Velvet Oreo. The limitation is a big minus for me, probably also explains why there was no wait that day, maybe. Compare to the Jeni's in Chicago (and can be purchased in groceries stores and even Target), this is no comparison in my opinion. It is just same old boring frozen custard and definitely won't be part of the trip, but the portion is huge, single scope is probably equavalent to half a pin, no joke, and for $3 plus only, but you get what you pay for... 😂

Kopp's. Oh my. This is a burger and custard wonderland. This is a MUST do in Milwaukee. The burgers are soooooo amazing. We got the KRK burger on this trip. Even with one patty, it's huge. And soooo delicious. With an order of onion rings, you've got more than a meal. And the custard creations are the absolute best. Their flavorings are unique and delicious, and the custard is the most rich and creamy I've ever had. Kopp's is a landmark and a place we'll eat every time we are in Milwaukee.

It was very confusing on where to order our custard. We waited in one line and we're told we had to go to another line just order a custard. My caramel cashew custard was not very frozen. The chocolate sundae was pretty good.

Kopps is as good as advertised. Every time. Cheeseburger works works(yes twice...trust me!), onion rings, root beer. Don't get the fries, they are terrible. My only complaint!

Indoors is crowded but spacious. 💁🏼✍️ SERVICE (= 1 ⭐️) - They are a well oiled machine. Very fast and huge production. They have lines for cones, lines for food, lines for online pick up- the works 🥗🍜 FOOD/ICE CREAM (= 1 ⭐️) - The ice cream - as stated by my wife - “is the best ice cream I’ve ever had” Burgers were okay. Nothing special bit the onion rings were great. 💰💵 PRICE (= 1 ⭐️) - Extremely affordable for such high quality food and ice cream and for the game of the location. 💃🏻🎊 EXPERIENCE (= 1 ⭐️) - If you order ahead (which I suggest) you’ll wait about 10 minutes for your food. But it’s delicious and there’s great place to sit! 🤔 Overall Thoughts - 5 ⭐️’s! Highly recommend

Shared a cheeseburger and an oreo sundae and both were delicious!! I'm not usually one for sundaes but this one knocked my socks off. Unfortunate due to the cold but totally worth it. I enjoyed watching the food get made and checking out the cute posters on the walls and other random tidbits around the customer area. Will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy that beautiful outdoor area!

In a state full of quality beef and dairy products, Kopp’s is head and shoulders above the best. I’ve been checking the board for the flavor of the day for over 25 years now. Their frozen custard is unparalleled for extremely fresh ingredients and smooth beyond belief. The butter burgers are consistently epic: fried onion, German mustard and cheese keep this burger lingering on in my memory even long after I’ve left the state. Order the onion rings (with extra dipping mustard), you won’t regret it. And while you’re gobbling down your fries, make sure you get a staple Sprecher’s root beer to wash it all down. Take it outside to enjoy it in the shady seating area with waterfall. The tell-tale stainless steel countertops and retro dairy hats live on as a legacy Milwaukee treasure.

Kopp’s is so unbelievably good!! I’m not even a burger person but these are the best burgers… maybe even in all WI. The frozen custard is so delicious too- they always have super unique flavors as well. Finally, this location is so weird but very unique- very “modern” and “industrial” but does not deter the quality of the food!! Decent prices, HIGH quality food. I love stopping in whenever I’m in Milwaukee.

Been there one time. If I am in the area and am even slightly hungry I'll be returning. Got a double bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious and hit the spot. I really liked the outdoor seating and water fountain. Very relaxing.

Definitely not what I expected, but then again not knowing what it was, I didn't really know what to expect. I will say I was pleasantly surprised! Burger was delicious! As were the fries. The custard looked amazing, sadly I didn't have room for any. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely go and get dessert first! If your visiting, just a heads up this place is BUSY, but you don't have to wait long. Also there isn't traditional seating. The have a bunch of benches you can sit on to eat or take it to go.

I don’t say this often, but I will about this place. Kopps is now in my top 5 favorite restaurants. I had heard from my in-laws about this place and just thought it’d be another good burger and maybe some custard, but I was wrong! The aesthetic, the burger, the custard, the experience. Everything was so amazing. The burgers were detailed to me as HUGE and they were right! They were about the size of a softballs diameter. I got the fried onions in mine and I would urge you to do the same!! The custard is creamy and delicious. I have a Culver’s very near my house so I am very familiar with custard and this place was awesome. Maybe my favorite part of the entire experience was the aesthetic. You sit and hang in this comfortable little cove with ivy and fountains. It’s like a dream. Please go and enjoy Kopps!

Always get great hamburgers or fish sandwiches. They have great custard, a different flavor every day. Very clean, courteous, quick moving staff. A well organized machine. Always packed full of people after 4 o clock. Go around lunch, a little less crowded. Better food than Culver's or any other fast food hamburger joint. It's real meat. Enjoy, I know you will.

The best burgers and THE greatest custard you can find. Orange Dream cannot be beat, nor should anyone ever try. I've been going to Kopps regularly my entire life. After every band concert, every Friday for lunch when teaching tennis and now every time I'm nearby. I met up with my random roommate in college here before we moved in. Nine years later, I was here as part of their wedding party. Eat here, cherish it and keep the memories forever.

It's an experience! The place is very noisy and you have to listen carefully for your order to be announced. It's smart to watch which color coded microphone the staff member is using. Some folks rave about their burgers. We're not fans. Our friends are in love with their frozen custard. This might be a surprise, but there's probably too much butter fat in the mix. After about the 3rd lick of your cone, your tongue is coated with butterfat & you have to eat or drink something else before going back to appreciate the frozen custard.

Kopp’s has been a Milwaukee institution for decades. It’s consistent quality and service always makes it one of my favorite places to stop when I’m in the area. They’re famous for their jumbo burgers and frozen custard, but they also serve up chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, fries, onion rings, shakes, malts, and more. They have three area locations, and each day, they feature a new flavor of frozen custard, and each month, they have a specialty sundae feature. It’s definitely a special place to stop by!

I love this place. There's nothing quite like a Kopp's cheeseburger. Also, the onion rings here are excellent. Kopp's has standard fast food counter ordering, but there's usually a bit of a wait for the food, since they make everything to order. However, the service is always consistent and dependable. Make sure you don't forget to order frozen custard, too!

No long lines this time. My burger seemed to be seasoned differently than my many prior orders. Loved the flavor so much more this time. I never put ANYTHING on my burger other than cheese so the meat flavor really stands out.

I was first introduced to Kopp's in 2011 and I have been a regular fan since. The custard pulled me in and then I discovered the delicious burgers and sandwiches especially the chicken sandwich. I brought a friend along and introduced him to the fantastic onion rings and now he needs his onion ring fix a couple times a week. No matter what part of town I'm in there's a Kopp's within a 10 minute drive. My absolute favorite custard flavor is the black raspberry.

Classic place to be in Milwaukee for ice cream burgers used to go more regularly now I stopped by when I'm coming through really like I mean come on you can't go wrong. I think I may have reviewed this before but back in the day I always used to have a burger with the works or buffalo chicken sandwich or chicken Caliente and custard of the day or just custard of the day which is a meal in itself. The only reason I give it four instead of five is just for customer seating and the in and out it's a small footprint on a corner there I guess you can't complain they have a nice Fountain area you can sit down in there what more can you ask so I'll say four and a half. I don't think I would change a thing really quick access get fed get out enjoy!

Oh my goodness! Kopp's has some of the best burgers I have ever tasted. Reminds me of a place my family and I use to go and eat at when I was a child. Picture delicious juicy burgers wrapped in white paper and buns so big you actually need two hands to eat them. And get this, the meat patty is as big as or bigger than the bun. What a novel idea! I had a side of rings and a vanilla custard waffle cone to balance things out. All I can say is umm, umm, so good...wait a minute...I need a moment...LOL. And I didn't even mention the really nice outside sitting area. If you want to treat yourself, your family, or your date to some great comfort food, Kopp's Frozen Custard in Greenfield, Wisconsin is the place. Food was delicious but service was very slow and parking lot was packed. It looked properly staffed, just very slow making the food and even the custard side line was moving slow and was out the building, down the steps in the seating area. This has been my least favorite location I have been to, other locations were also busy but handled it better, took about 30 minutes to order and receive our burgers and onion rings.

I moved to New York 7 years ago and I still haven’t found a worthy burger alternative so that’s saying something. Don’t even get me started on the amazing custard. The quintessential location for Milwaukee frozen custard. When a friend is in town for the weekend, this is one of the five spots I insist on taking them to. I recommend the KRC burger, a sprecher root beer, and the flavor of the day for a scoop of frozen custard. I have eaten at Kopp's around 40 times, and I would say 39 of those times were perfect experiences. They're consistently an amazing burger and custard joint.

Quality on items that are not custard have gone down. Buns for cheeseburgers are now spongy and and toppings are hap-hazardly tossed on. Fries are barely cooked and do not stay warm for more than a minute. Custard is still great.

Today I was down in Franklin,WI and for lunch I made a trip over to Kopps Custard on Layton Ave. I have previously been and the Glendale and Brookfield locations. No surprise here Kopps was very busy. I enjoy being able to watch the workers do all the food preparations as each order is made individually. I had my usual. Hamburger with the works and an order of fries. Simply delicious and hot with the right mixture of ketchup mustard sauce that Kopps uses along with delicious fried onions. I was feeling brave after lunch and got my self a Hot fudge sundae. Kopps has the best custard in town. At least in my humble opinion. Two thumbs up rating from me.

This location is my 2nd fav kopps location. It's 2nd 2 the 1 in Glendale on Port Washington Rd, which is the best of the 3. The fish from here was good, crispy, and hearty. Fries were good but needed salt. Overall, it's a great spot. All 3 kopps have the BEST CUSTARD EVER!

There's nothing bad on the menu, but get a burger. I'm a vegetarian, but Kopp's burgers are a cheat for me. Grilled cheese is really excellent, too. Mustard is pretty spicy, though. Beware!

Underwhelming. I’m not sure I understand the hype of this place. Took more than 20 minutes for a milkshake, not counting the wait in line to order and the struggle to find a parking spot. The custard and milkshake we got were good, but far from anything special. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but I wouldn’t say this is anything worth going out of your way for.

This place was suggested by a co worker. Drove into the city for it and was not disappointed. BEST ice cream hands down. I enjoyed the fact that everyday they have a special in flavors so you get to try a variety on things. From the outside the place doesn’t look like much but it has a small oasis in the entrance where you can sit down and eat. The place inside to order is large and spacious. A not overwhelming at first and the staff is not that great at explaining the process. But I enjoyed my food. Worth it.

They are known for their Frozen Custard and you must give it a try if you haven't before. Just know the unique flavors change daily, but have the standard ones all the time. The food was an unexpected surprise as most of the time if a place is known for deserts you don't normally think they put in the same effort towards the food.. This place, while known for their custards have ridiculously delicious burgers and the Chicken Caliente sandwich was awesome with a jalapeno salsa on it

Do not recall any eating place packed with long line of customers since pandemic 2.5 years ago. Secret is the fabulous burgers and frozen custard and the carnival atmosphere, that is made possible by a beautiful garden for customers to enjoy the food. Fantastic experience.

The only downside is if you're going in person it's going to be a drag ordering and hard to hear the number because it's so many people and its so hot in there. Love the frozen butter pecan cuter. I love the uniform btw.

One of the essential Milwaukee experiences. The best frozen custard made fresh. Always has vanilla, chocolate, and two flavors of the day. Custard is a separate line on the left which is faster. The lines on the right are for sundaes, burgers and drinks. Frozen Custard is much richer than ice cream and is velvety semi-soft. They're hot fudge and pecan sundae is to die for. Cheeseburger is top of the class. Another well-known Wisconsin based burger chain is rumored to have copied them and knew they could not compete initially so started out and small towns.There are three palaces on each side of town, each large with unique decorations.

Eatery famed for it's oversized burgers and custard (that's frozen dairy dessert or ice cream for non Wisconsinites). However, other than it's jumboness, I didn't find their burgers exceptional nor enticing. I had heard that it was a must for anyone, but sorry to say, not impressed. I am not much into frozen desserts, so I didn't try any of those. I ordered their "famous" hamburger and they got the toppings wrong. Because they have to really flatten the meat patty pretty thin to fit on the large bun, it has a tendency to dry out on the high temperature grill. No amount of sauces can redeem it. My companion's cheese sandwich was functional with the bread toasted to crispness without turning greesy and an abundance of melted American cheese between the slices. Onion rings were nice. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside without being greesy. Outdoor seating with a fountain is very nice in season. However, winter visits could be bummer with no real seating choices indoors. The entire place has a feel of clean industrial setting with shiny stainless steel everywhere. Actually, they seem to work hard to keep it absolutely clean. All of that was not enough, however, to lure me back.

This is a true Milwaukee area classic! The restaurant is really something to see especially the outdoor courtyard area with its wonderful waterfall and unique bench seating. The food is excellent especially the fried onions on a cheeseburger, who doesn’t love that? Prices are reasonable and the service is incredibly fast. We went on Father’s Day and I guess everyone else had the same idea because that line was out the door but we still got our food within about 15 minutes. When it’s this busy parking can be a bit of a problem but it does open up fairly quickly. Be aware that there are two lines one for food and one for custard so don’t mistake one for the other if you get there and it’s busy. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Parking was difficult but it was a better than expected experience. It was a little oasis spot. The outdoor seating was down a few stairs to a seating surrounded by plants, a waterfall on side and the center had trees that covered the area nicely.

Horrible customer service. Average product. As a restaurant manager and a prior frozen custard franchisee, I have not had this poor of service in a long while. When you walk in, you have to choose one of two extremely long lines, with poorly communicated descriptors on each. One says burgers and fountain and one says cones and soft drinks. As an out of town visitor who wanted a shake or concrete, which to choose? Apparently I chose wrong. After waiting 15 mins in the wrong line I was told they couldn’t help me. Really? I explained I was here my first time and she just gave me a blank stare and said I had to go in the other line. Absolute BS. What I was ordering didn’t fit neatly in one of their categories and the team member couldn’t figure out a way to help me? Point no. 2: the custard is average at best. I’ve now tried four places in Milwaukee and feel like the custard here at Kopps is over-rated. It’s creamy, but pretty bland. Save your wait and head down the street to Culver’s or Oscars it all tastes the same. Honestly, after waiting 30 mins in line then another 10 mins for my shake, I’m very disappointed.

I have been coming to Kopp's since I was little and it has barely changed at all - which is what I love about it. Why mess with something that is already practically perfect? The custard is top-notch, the sundaes and shakes/malts are worth salivating over, and then you have the specials. Different flavors every day and while I may not like some of the options that are provided, it's fine because the chocolate or vanilla custard doesn't taste like it's a consolation prize. They do have a somewhat limited food menu, but they have all the essentials and they do a wonderful job on all of them. Word of advice though: the burgers are big, a regular cheeseburger is the size of a quarter-pounder from McDonald's and the double cheeseburger is massive!

I love their cheese burgers. I usually get a double cheese burger and I can hardly finish it. The only reason I do is because it tastes soooo good I can't let any of it go to waste. I love that I can watch the whole process of my food being placed on the grill then watch as they cook it. The employees there don't coast either, they are always performing their duties with some urgency, almost like they enjoy being there to serve me. If there was one reason for me to miss living in Milwaukee, it would be Kopp's. Their burgers are absolutely freaking delicious in every way, shape, and form. The burgers are huge and you know they are good when the grease drips down your fingers and you don't even care. YES PLEASE. Sleek and modern, minimalism is the game--and it's great. The menu hosts several limited options of "jumbo," delicious burgers/sandwiches. Their fame comes from their custard, though. Similar to Culver's, you can always order vanilla or chocolate, but then there are flavors-of-the-day that offer additional options for that day only. The custard is top-notch--so thick and creamy. Service is super fast, especially for the custard. No indoor seating, but spacious and scenic outdoor seating is available in a landscaped area. It looks like a really great place for a summer stop, but in the winter, we chose to bring our food back to the car. Even so, the experience was great.

When I first saw the online price list for this place, I decided I should go for a double cheeseburger since they clearly couldn't be very big if that was all they were charging for a single. I look back at that naive young man now with a deep and abiding melancholy, for once you have consumed what I think may have been half a cow of well prepared beef, you can never reclaim the carefree innocence of yesteryear. Or your waistline. Basically, when they say they sell "Jumbo" burgers, they mean it. I have no idea how they're able to provide so much food for the prices they charge, or how that food can be so good, but it is. And the sundaes are fantastic (and huge) as well. I will definitely be going back in the future! ...But I'll be sticking with a single.

Burgers, fries, and custard are great at all three locations but this one has the best outdoor seating. This is the best frozen custard in Milwaukee and, therefore, in the world. IMPORTANT NOTE-- if you plant to order a chocolate shake, specify you want it made with chocolate custard. If you don't request chocolate custard they will make it with vanilla custard and chocolate syrup (which is awful).

I have been coming here since I was just a little kid. By far some of the best custard, greasy burgers and root beer I’ve had! It’s not a place to visit if your dieting and expect a bit of a wait during their peak busy times but it is all worth it. Very busy on the warm winter and spring days. None the less, food is awesome, all customers treated well and equally. Food is fantastic, although fries are occasionally not crisp at this location. I would beg that people filling the pints, quarts, and half gallon containers ensure they are packed without air pockets, and the custard is well blended. Too often we are finding whole sections of each container size lacking in these two categories.

The burgers are jumbo and you can get whatever you want on them! I thought the burgers just tasted alright but I liked the price for how big it was! The real treat here is the custard, in fact the custard line was longer than the burger line when I last went. This is not a place you sit down and eat at, usually there are standing tables inside and outdoor seating but didn't see any available right now due to covid and it being winter. You can always eat in your car but be courteous of other people needing to find parking as it can be limited during busy times!

My friends and I stopped in here after an event to honor the fallen for memorial day. After being denied service at AJ bombers we stopped here and were not disappointed. The food came out in a timely manner and as always was delicious. The size of the burgers are large especially for the price. The outdoor seating is a awesome thing as well. The atmosphere makes this location my favorite stop. Everyone in there was working very hard to get the food out quickly and not a single mistake is ever made on our order. Keep up the good work I will always stop in here when in the area. But next time I think I should have the custard first as I never have room after eating such a fabulous burger.

A comfort food must have. This place is hands down one of the best burgers you can get. I had a double bacon cheeseburger with lettuce onion ketchup and mustard. The service here is always good and usually pretty fast even despite how busy they can get. Keep in mind the weather because there's really only outdoor seating available. That said, the outdoor seating is a fantastic landscape with a waterfall. I'm really proud to call Kopp's my home town burger joint.

I went to LA last year and finally tried inn-N-out.... I was so upset at how not even close to being good they weren't. kinda weird spot, it doesn't feel like a restaurant until you find the front door, but once your there it's a very cool spot. the air conditioned area where you order is normally packed with minimal seating so your often eating outside or standing in the corner but it's a awesome spot. although they do have good food all around it's mainly the local hotspot for it's custard, that stuff is the reason people come back.

Hoping this is just a fluke!! Disappointed lately at the lack of fixings in the flavors of the day. We tried the Wedding cake and it looks exactly like plain vanilla when there were supposed to be cake pieces and raspberry ribbons. Also, the Twix flavor had 2 pieces of shortbread cookie in an entire quart. We also had a Tiramisu sundaes that had no ladyfingers (or what is used). I guess for how expensive it is, I want something above average with lots of goodies.

This has been one of my favorite places for decades! The custard is smooth and delicious; Kopp's always offers 2 flavors of the day and many other dessert options. The burgers and fries are also a favorite. Sprecher root beer on tap is such a treat to go with any meal or have as a float. During this visit, we found our burger buns were a little stale/dry - it seemed different than other visits.

Kopp's is one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. Every restaurant should be as good as this one. My wife and I split one of their amazing double cheeseburgers with grilled onions and a side order of onion rings. This ample portion was enough for two people to share. The cheeseburger was perfectly prepared. It was hot, juicy and beefy and they even cut it in half for us. We didn't have any of their fabulous frozen custard today, but we'll be back another day for a scoop or two. Their custard is simply the best. The flavors are creative and tasty and the custard is always smooth, creamy and delicious. Kopp's is one of Milwaukee's jewels and I highly recommend it.

The burgers are great if you are eating them there but they don't hold up well if you take it to go. My bread and lettuce is always soggy by the time I get home. I wish they would add outdoor tables instead of just having benches. I think they could definitely make way better use of their outdoor space. The custard in my opinion is not as good as Leon's but to each their own. I tried the hot fudge sundae and the hot fudge was grainy and the pecans did not taste fresh. I wish they would change their bread and fries, as their fries are kind of sad. I think Kopps is a definite go to for burgers and maybe some unique flavor of the days but nothing else.

Whenever we visit Milwaukee we make sure we stop at Kopp's. Although the lines are usually VERY long, I don't think we've ever waited longer than 10 minutes before they take our order. The burgers are almost as good as Culver's (there are those who would disagree), but their custard is the best I've ever tasted (again, some will disagree). But the one thing everyone agrees on...Kopp's is a definite place to visit if you visit Milwaukee. I give them my highest marks on every front.

I have loved the burgers at Kopp's for years. They will make them however you want them. I suggest adding the hot celery. Delicious! It adds just a tiny bit of heat, and a nice satisfying crunch, to the burger. They also do onion rings quite well. No matter when you go, it's likely to be busy, even at 10:00 on a Tuesday night. So worth it when you forgot to eat at normal people's time! 😁

Ok...this was awesome. I was the order taker for work. 10 people...10 different orders. I made sure the online order was good on my end. I got to Kopp's and the order was almost ready. Within minutes of the time they said to pick it up. The gal behind the counter double checked what was in the bags to my receipt. She then told me that the sandwiches were numbered on the wrapper and on the receipt. Genius! She then helped me carry my order (two boxes) to my car. I've always loved you. But man...that was such a great experience. Great job!

Never been here before, but a friend recommended it...and I am glad he did! It was quite busy when we went, but we were able to still order just a few minutes into walking in and received the order a few more minutes after that. First of all I chose this place to break my veganism (for a day) and I was not disappointed. It was worth it. I ordered a double cheese with the works and fries. What I got was an absolutely mammoth burger that was greasy in the best way possible. Fries were ok nothing special but they give you your money worth. Now to the frozen custard…mama that frozen custard had me moaning. I mean it is an EXPERIENCE. I got two scoops on a waffle cone and the portion they give you is enough for 3 people. I ate it all. The pecans were not soggy. They were crunchy and fragrant and the butterscotch flavor was so well mixed. BY FAR the best frozen dairy product I’ve ever put in my mouth. However... the inside is ran like a sweatshop in a way that personally makes me shy away from this place as an eating experience. The KRK burger was big and had the flavor profile of a Big Mac for probably the same price per lb. The frozen custard was okay, however it was not smoothly blended and definitely not the eateries artisan product which is is ironic considering the name..

So I wanted to sojourn to this joint after watching I believe food insider. That was my first mistake. In the end, this place is a fast food joint. And the reviewer from food insider was either paid orrllff or needs to be in a different line of work. The custard is clean tasting and the fish sandwich and cheeseburger were well made but only in terms of a fast food place. I am also a little sore about my fish not coming with the cheese I ordered, though it was my own fault that I didn't go back in the get it corrected. In due fairness, the place is busy so I understand. Kopp's takes the crown against other fast food joints without a doubt. If you are in the area, I would suggest this place over any other fast food spot, and the custard is clean and delicious but nothing to write home about. Hopefully, another trip up there will elicit a different experience.

Custard is the best. My favorite flavor is Amoretto Cheesecake, yummy! There burgers are great too. Sometimes a little heavy on seasoning and they finally have the ‘NO PICKLE ANYWHERE’ down pat, lol. All my out of town relatives insist on visiting every time they come visit.

Good, greasy custard shop food. Frequently enjoyed the enormous cheeseburgers and fries. Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction during my last visit (allergic to peanuts & tree nuts) after eating part of a cheeseburger. I suspect it was due to cross contamination, but disappointed Kopps is not more aware & careful when it comes to allergies. Due to that, I will not be returning.

The original and best Kopps location, of the 3, by far. Burgers are great, even with the new buns being fluffier (some may prefer the old buns, but both good IMO). Chicken sandwiches are great. Fries and onion rings are amazing. Malts are great. Lastly, custard is phenomenal and nearly unbeatable. New flavors daily, which you usually can't go wrong with. Amazing and friendly staff and service. Atmosphere may be loud at times, but i think that's the greatness of this place, as it's never dead. Outdoor seating near the waterfall fountain is really nice during the summer. Great place, must visit.

The custard is known throughout the state. Fun creative flavors as well as tried and true classics. The jumbo burgers are tasty once in awhile but I wouldn't make it a habit to eat them too often. The decor still makes no sense and I hope it stays that way.

Portion size of my single scoop was huge! I had mint chip and my friend got the pecan caramel flavor. Both were loaded with mix-ins. Not just on the top but throughout. Plus the outdoor seating area is lovely.

A classic restaurant I've never had a single bad experience here over the past several years visiting. My family and I have gotten food and desert here for as long as I can remember. The employees are always kind, respectful and patient. Never had a single wrong order and everything is always delicious. (I personally recommend the chicken sandwich and grilled cheese!) The custard is so good, and if you like the classic chocolate and vanilla be sure to check out their flavors of the day, they have a flavor forcast of their website and paper calendars in the building. Highly recommend to everyone!

Truly, both the burgers and ice cream are very much worth their price. The burgers are huge and toasted, plus fully customizable. The ice cream, though, has to be the best part, for the "one scoop" is really big, and quite tasty. Be quick, though, it melts quickly, especially now in the summer. My only dislike is the wait times, but that's because it's so popular with locals, the entire area is nearly filled to the brim!

Custard was great. Service was not so much. The first girl who started taking our order was very rude. She had an attitude since we didn't know we were supposed to order icecream only on one side. She pointed to the other side and said" go over there" and walked away. The other girl who helped us the second time around was more pleasant.

Fantastic burgers and custard. The burgers are very large and juicy with tons of flavor. The 2 custard flavors of the day are always unique and delicious. There is a nice sitting area by a waterfall-like fountain that is great to use when it’s nice out. In addition, there is a modern square-shaped walkway with some logs and benches to enjoy.

This was the best frozen custard I have ever had! It was reasonable and I loved the outside seating area. It’s also cool to be able to see them make the custard. Leon’s was also good but this was so much better for the price!!! It was creamy and thick and perfect! I am considering moving to Milwaukee just so I can eat custard every day!

Burgers, shakes, fries and onion rings are all "real" food--not the commerical fast food grade stuff. Everything was really good--except that the burger was super salty... They allow (at least in online ordering) an option to get the burger without salt--that's what we'll try during our next visit. Tried the mocha coconut shake--you can taste the real coconut 😀 I'm sure some was just coconut extract, but there is real coconut in it as well. It also seemed like there must be chocolate in it, not just mocha and coconut. Chocolate shakes are really good as well! Definitely a good place to visit.

Another Milwaukee food gem. Started coming here for the custard decades ago and got hooked on their burgers. Fast friendly service in a well maintained and clean establishment. When the weather is good the outdoor seating is great. Parking can be a challenge when they are busy during peak times. They have daily frozen custard flavors to check out. Their burger and sandwiches are large, fresh and made to order. Grab a side of fries or better yet onion rings.

First visit, only tried the custard, and went with chocolate and vanilla to get the “true” flavor profile. It was good, but on par with Culver’s frozen custard. Some others in our group said the fudge and ganache weren’t very good.

Always a stop when we come. Disappointed when ordering though, needed a flavored soda for my daughter and explained I would pay for a strawberry cream soda but please just put the ice cream on the side or just don't add it at all she is lactose intolerant. The guy said, we can't do that. She had a horrible headache from some new medicine and so I just ordered the cream soda as was... she took 2 sips and couldn't drink it. I just don't understand why it couldn't just be made without the ice cream, I said I would pay the full price. Burgers were good but onion rings, both orders, were cold. Love the custard and waterfall, the violin player was awesome...support the arts.

Only ordered a two scoop cup of ice cream and a shake. Seen about five people come behind us and get at least two scoops in a cone and even one scoop in a cup served before us. Sorry but I can't help but feel "black vs white".

Kopp's Frozen Custard is SO GOOD. I come here every time I visit Milwaukee... which is generally a couple times a month. The custard flavors are super delicious and flavorful. The food is really good too. The burgers they serve are large and juicy; they definitely don't skimp you on anything. If I had to recommend my favorite custard flavor from Kopp's, it would be their Tiramisu custard!
