Recently I visited Nielsen’s Frozen Custard. They have a lot of interesting combinations to choose from. Their frozen custard is too good and service is excellent. The flavours were delicious and the texture was really nice. Below are a few things I tried from their extensive menu: Oreo concrete Carmel Sundae Hot fudge chocolate sundae (highly recommended) Chocolate custard rolled in chocolate sprinkles in a cone Overall experience was amazing. Highly recommended.

Coming from Utah where there are multiple Nielsen's my wife and I are excited we accidentally came upon one here in Vegas while driving through the area! We love their bumbleberry and also got a pint to bring home for later. The inside of the place is nice and classy too! Love everything about this! Definitely will be making more drives around the area ;)

Absolutely loved it! Great service, great quality custard, great options and great vibe. The options are simple and straightforward and there is a bathroom in the back too. Overall, a great price for a simple custard with one topping for about $4. Loved it!

I knew about this place thru Instagram and started following them because everything looks so delicious!. I finally had a chance to check it out. I ordered vanilla with reese's peanut butter cup. I am so glad I was able to share this because I wasn't going to be able to finish it all by myself. The staff was great. The place was nice and clean and also there restrooms.

I feel like I’m back in the 1950s at this quintessential custard palace! I strongly recommend the concrete chocolate brownie, all of the toppings are fantastic; the hot fudge sundae is a definite game changer. A little on the pricey side but well worth the investment as your stomach will reap the rewards!

A grand experience. The walls and decor looks like a 1970’s ice cream creamery. Neilson's makes and sells frozen custard. It is supposed to be made at colder temperatures than ice cream. 4 stars because last two times I was there in 100 degree weather the tasty treat melted way too quickly. I couldn't keep up with eating it that fast. It's almost $4 -$6 for an custard 🍮 ice cream and toppings. $0.99 each If you want toppings like candy or hot fudge you have to order your treat in a cup not a cone or get the cone and toppings on the side. If they mixin the ice cream beforehand it costs more. If the cashier is willing. The texture is creamy and the chocolate. I enjoyed it but think I'll get vanilla next time.

Very tasty frozen custard! They had 3 flavors: vanilla, chocolate and a seasonal one (can't recall the name). I ordered a concrete with cheesecake. Very tasty and rich, like it should be. Quick service. the place was pretty full when I got there around 7 pm. I would definitely return!

I've gone here many times before, with friends, once on a date, and with my family. Every time I come in, it never disappoints me. The ice cream is absolutely amazing, it's real dairy product and cream. It's thick and heavenly, the atmosphere is also impeccable. I'm a big fan of 50's Americana aesthetic and music, so their restaurant is the perfect place to go for me.

The custard is of course amazing here, but the employees are the reason I love this place. The service is excellent every single time! Tonight my bag ripped as I was on the way out, my items fell on the ground, and one broke and spilled everywhere. A very kind employee immediately came to clean up the mess and had a new ice cream ready for me in minutes. They really go above and beyond!

If you have never tried frozen custard, you haven’t tried the real ice cream. Nielsen's Frozen Custard beats ANY ice cream shop anywhere! Love frozen custard and Nielsen's won't disappoint. I always get a custom concrete of bananas, almonds , vanilla. So creamy , so thick ,so rich and so flavorful. So tasty. So perfect. I love the custards, yummy! A creaminess you have to experience to know. Awesome variety of choices to suit whatever you're in the mood for. Takes you back to a time when things were more real and pure and healthy, not like today when everything is artificial and tasteless. The customer service is amazing, very welcoming and friendly. The place is spotless clean. It is beautifully decorated with all the antiques, perfect for taking photos. Best place for family’s or date night. I love it here and you will too. This place has great custard and I enjoy coming here. However, they should turn on their open light sooner on their window facing the lot as at night it looks like they are closed due to tinted windows. I marked them down a star as the ceiling fan and other areas need to be cleaned. The windows and the ceiling above the register too. There are 4 guys standing there talking while one is scooping out custard from the machine. Placing toss with the tips coin. Maybe one of them could sweep up the trash from the floor or do some cleaning?

Scrumptious. I used to love going to Nielsen’s when I lived in SLC, and so I had to come out here when I saw there was a location in Vegas. This was the first stop we made as we drove in from LA - the frozen custard is that good. Definitely get a concrete, which is an uber-thick shake that you can eat out of a carton. You can pick vanilla, chocolate, or the flavor of the day as your base, and pick whatever toppings you’d like for an additional charge per topping. We got the chocolate and had Oreos mixed in. The benefit of a concrete is you get the topping(s) more evenly spread throughout rather than having them concentrated at the top, although I wished that they put in one more Oreo. Nevertheless, the custard came out in less than 5 min on a Friday evening around 6pm, and was delectably smooth. It’s almost remarkable how there’s no graininess or iciness like you’d find in ice cream. Note there are egg yolks in the custard. Parking is easy, as there’s a free lot. Credit cards accepted and there was some indoor/outdoor seating. The service was quick and friendly. Masks are required to go inside, and they do offer pints to-go if you need to get in and out. There are also other options like sundaes and whatnot if you don’t want a concrete. Overall, it’s family friendly and a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Eat here and you will learn that frozen custard beats the pants off of ice cream! Once you do eat here the very thought of Dairy Queen or other shameless ice cream places will make you feel nauseous. Frozen custard is heavier and creamer than ice cream and we'll worth the price, which is comparable to Cold Stone. The customer service here is top notch also. I was going to take a picture of my frozen treat, but ate it before I could get to my camera. You won't regret eating here!

Stopped in Nielsen's, it was very crowded. The line moved quickly. I got a strawberry and chocolate waffle cone. It was good but very soft. Almost too soft to eat because it was melting faster than I could eat it. The chocolate was kinda lame, not alot of flavor. Tasted like chocolate milk that needed more syrup. I think I will give this place another shot. My friend who lives in Vegas told me the vanilla was her favorite, maybe I should have listened to her.

Wow!, Small old style frozen custard shop. So creamy and smooth, much better than the industrialized ice creams of the day. Great selection of shakes, and Sunday's. Super crowded long line out the door but the line moved pretty fast. We had to wait about 12 minutes before we got to the counter. Fast turn time, good service. I always order the smaller amounts because this custard is very rich and filling. Don't miss Nielsen's Frozen Custard!

Found Nielsen's Frozen Custard when I was in Rexburg, ID 2010 - 2013 (Location now closed). I went about every Tuesday with friends for their hot n' fresh fries, as well as their thick n' rich frozen custard. When we decided to move to Vegas from Utah November 2018 I was STOKED that there was going to be a Nielsen's Frozen Custard! Good memories, good service, and of course the best custard around.

I tend to judge ice cream shops by how well they do basic flavors. Vanilla double scoop cone was an excellent, satisfying and so rich and creamy. Nielsons will be my go-to place for beating the lv heat. Wonderful establishment and looking forward to visiting again before returning to CA.

If you haven't tried frozen custard than you haven't had ice cream. These guys make it just like they do back in Wisconsin. Low air, high density, smooth and creamy. These guys do it right! And a cool throw back kinda atmosphere.

This place totally does it for me because I'm a custard girl. And they do things right! First off, I love that they have the basic chocolate or vanilla custard, but they also offer a weekly special. Lucky for me, on my first visit last week, they had Cashew Caramel. They let me sample and it was delicious! That made one decision easy - done. Now to figure out what size concrete. Good news, they only offer one size! And it's pretty big. So instead of lying to myself and deciding I want a small, I can get a big cup of goodness that will leave me feeling very full and satisfied! Then for the mix ins. I usually jus throw in absolutely everything that sounds good. Here I went with Oreos, Reese's, hot fudge, cake batter and peanut butter. I'm not always crazy about nuts in my ice cream, so having the Oreos and Reese's to crunch with the cashews was perfect for me. When I requested hot fudge, the girl at the counter earned me that it would cause my concrete to be on the melt side - fine with me! Regarding the cake batter, it's not chunks of cake. It's actually a gooey cake batter. How fun! I've never seen that offered before. It rounded out the flavors in my concrete perfectly - it made it taste like an Oreo Reese's Cake went into my custard! All in all this amazing creation cost $10 - money well spent. The service was very friendly! Although they did seem quite surprised by the amount of mix-ins I requested. When my concrete cane out, my cup was over flowing a little - score! This place is definitely a winner and I can't to indulge again!

Wow absolutely Delicious dessert! From the moment you walk in you are hit with the most yummy smell of sweet custard. We had the bumblebee sundae, classic chocolate sundae with walnuts and took home a pint of their oreo. And if we could've have eaten anymore we definitely would have. Absolutely delicious. And the nicest staff ever. I will be returning and hopefully become a regular here. Totally worth a drive and the quality is unmatched and highly recommend this Nielsons to anyone looking for a delicious cold sweet treat

First time going to Nielsen and let me tell you I was not disappointed in the least. I have had a ton of people tell me to check this place out because the custard is supposed to be the best. I got the cookies and cream concrete which is pretty much a shake that you have to eat with a spoon. It was delicious!!! I highly recommend for anyone who wants some good Custard!

My family and I have gone to Nielson's for years and we have never had a bad visit. Their custard is superb, the service is fast, and the daily flavors are amazing (I had cherry chocolate chip the other day-amazing). There's chocolate, vanilla, and the flavor of the day. However, you can get concretes (compressed custard ice cream). If you're in town, this is a great place to stop and get good custard. Be careful with the parking lot however as it is kind of hard to manuever.

Love this spot! Can get busy, especially in the Summer. Worth the wait though. First place I ever tried custard and far superior to regular ice cream. Dozens of topping combinations to add variety to every visit. If you're a little older the vibe is 50-60's soda shop with oldies playing over the sound system.

Great place to grab some frozen custard. They change the special everyday so be on the lookout for that. That day they had rocky road so I ordered a rocky road concrete. Even the small is very filling so you will leave satisfied as long as your not lactose intolerant.

This was my first stop after driving from Phoenix. It was my favorite in Gilbert but unfortunately that branch closed. Luckily it's got the same great taste here. I had the apple pie in vanilla concrete. Generous chunks of apple pie, but the frozen custard always takes center stage. So smooth, creamy and wonderful! Will definitely make the stop each time I am in Vegas.

Great flavors and options, but a bit pricey for what you get. My favorite is a sundae with bananas and hot fudge. You will need to ask for an additional side of hot fudge as they don't put much on it though. We will be back, but not as frequently as we would if the prices were a bit better.

Addiction of the best kind!!!!! I am sorry to all the other frozen yogurt places I used to frequent this is the one and only now. Super thick creamy delicious wonderful real true frozen custard. If you love ice cream this place is sure to not disappoint you. We went in on the mere fact that their page came across my Instagram feed. The place was busy but they move you in and out quickly. Menus are located right when you walk in so you can decide while you wait. I had the cherry soda with vanilla custard and it was out of this world. The cherry soda was made up real crushed up cherries and the custard tasted homemade and so smooth! I was disappointed I went with something so simple but cannot wait to go back to try out some other of their concoctions.

I absolutely love this place! Their mint oreo, rocky road, and chocolate if classic is your style, are my favorites. This place is always clean. The staff are friendly and kind. Great custard and customer service, but I had a terrible experience with toppings. I got the Nut concrete with almonds. The almonds were chopped unevenly (some whole, some half and few small pieces) and I even got the powder taste which sometimes stick to the nuts. I hope next time they'd properly wash/chop them. I haven't tried other toppings, but they're probably better.

I've been going to Nielsens since I was 8 years old. I am 28 now and love trying different ice cream places, but hands down Nielsens is the best I have ever had. Quality is always consistent and there's a ton of options. If you've never had frozen custard before, absolutely go here for your first time, you won't be disappointed

I actually combined the custard at this location along with the strawberry crêpe that I got from Crêpe Expectations in the same plaza. I strongly feel you should have ice cream along with crêpes. It is the best frozen custard/ice cream place I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, the staff are all very polite and happy-always in a pleasant and welcoming mood. My family and I go to Nielsen’s at least once every week, and it seems to just get better & better. My personal favorite is the hot fudge Sundae (HFS). Of course, I’ve tried their other flavors, too, but for me the HFS is the end-all. Their frozen custard is so awesome; and together with the classic malt shop design & antiques, friendly staff, with the 50’s music hovering above it all, that whomever reads this review and tries it will also find themselves returning over & over again. We love it!

I like this place. They usually have just 3 flavors of softish ice cream like frozen custard, so not much thinking needed there. The concretes are the best. Similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen, but better. Put whatever toppings you want in it. We have been here several times, and my daughter's softball team dead an end-of-season ice cream run here. Good times.

Love the custard but not sure how safe this place is anymore. They allowed customers inside with no mask on and the tables and chairs outside need to be removed or placed elsewhere. The placement makes it to where you have to walk through big groups of people not wearing mask to enter the restaurant. If these restaurants don’t start taking this stuff more seriously it will all be closed again soon.

The perfect dessert after a wonderful meal at Taco Y Taco next door. I got my usual ice cream choice of chocolage cookie dough. Neilsen's Frozen Custard took it to a whole new level of delicious. This was our fourth or fifth visit in the last 18 mths (its 40 mins away with out traffic so we only stop when we're on that side of town). The location is always spotless and the staff is super friendly. We usually stick with the concrete since they are so good. I love trying the special flavors like lemon and pumpkin... so so good.

When you walk through the doors of Nielsen's, you're transported back to a time of families sitting in booths laughing and groups of teenagers sharing milkshakes and sundaes. Oldies music plays through the speakers as you stand in line to place your order. It's old fashioned, creamy delicious custard I remember from my childhood at Coney Island in New York. You can get the flavor of the day, chocolate or vanilla. If you're feeling adventurous, you can get a "concrete" which is a really thick shake you eat with a spoon. Choose your flavor of custard and they mix in your choice of goodies. They also have pre-packed containers you can take home. You can concoct your own or choose from the ideas they have on the menu. I go for good ol' vanilla on a cone. Creamy, delicious, not too sweet, heavenly vanilla. Mmmm. I want to go get one right now! Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place is so worth the trip!

On 9.25.16 My husband, my son and I visited @ 8:27PM, the store was due to close at 9PM and the place was already getting ready to close, chairs and sitting area was closed, we asked prior to ordering if the shop was closing (in consideration for their time) and the gal/cashier said No! Followed by pressing of the lips and rolling of the eye's. We ordered and sat in a booth (area not closed off), oddly enough about 5 to 7 other families & patrons showed up after us and we sat patiently awaiting our treats only to wait until 8:50PM after everyone else after us came in to receive their treats, I walked up to counter and asked if our treats were coming same gal looked at me with anger and said "yeah" a different gal came to our booth and said "um- can you remind me of your order" no apologies, no flinching, no cares! I don't expect fine dining service or even restaurant service, but I do expect some service and timely delivery. MACIE the cashier gal was very rude and should be reminded that if she doesn't like her job, there are plenty of other teens willing to take her place.

Not at all the custard experience I grew up with as an east coaster. This stuff is cloyingly sweet, and the sugar so overpowers the flavor you can't taste anything else. If you're used to Kohr Bros or Clifs in New Jersey, you'll be truly disappointed. No soft serve options, pretty much just glorified blizzards and mcflurries.
