This place has been on my "want to go" list for a while and I was excited to try it. It was so cute from the outside. However, I was bummed that the staff wasn't friendly or engaging at all. Isn't ice cream supposed to be happy? My daughter got Boba tea and thought it was very watered down. My other daughter didn't order anything because she thought it smelled like an old house. She wasn't wrong. They list way more flavors on the website than they actually carry. Its still a decent selection. I really wanted to love this place, but it was a downer.

This place was a surprise to me, I really enjoyed the ice cream and the environment. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I’ve started to see more places have boba tea or bubbles and this place has executed well! I especially loved the reproductions of paintings in the seating area. Great little touches to the make the environment quirky!

This place was great! We enjoyed the experience! I had the James Brownie Sundae (with the cookie dough and some other salted caramel ice cream) and it was delicious! The employees were fun to talk with and we had a nice time. Give this place a try if you are in the North East Indianapolis area.

Based on other reviews, I wanted to like this more than I did. Wyliepalooza has potential but seems to be having an identity crisis. Looking back at older photos, the atmosphere looked brighter and more welcoming/inviting than what it is today. For me, the previous photo with the yellow walls and blue floors set the right tone for an anime and ice cream shop - bright, fun, inviting, and creative. What I walked into felt like an old dingy shop that sells used video games/comics and happened to have a small corner carved out for ice cream. As far as the ice cream goes, I had butter pecan and green tea - they do allow you to "try before you buy". The butter pecan was delightful - creamy, buttery, and a good amount of pecans. I made the mistake of ordering the green tea without sampling it - this was because of an article I read raving about their green tea ice cream. I've had good green tea/matcha flavored ice cream before and had arrived with an expectation on flavor - a slightly sweet, more green veg. forward flavor. While it wasn't overly sweet, there wasn't much flavor...which is probably evident from how pale the green is for this ice cream. I think if I were to go back, I'd try out the location in Broadripple location next and some different flavors.

Never should you come to a place like this without having a wild imagination. I mean there are tons of icecream flavors to choose from. I like the butter pecan it's wroth walking around the block standing in line 2x lol. We always have fun and I actually help them open them using my concrete business. How nice to help you local business.

Ice cream is great! Drinks are not great… I got a Taro milk tea and my partner got a raspberry black tea with strawberry boba. My taro still had powder in it and should have mixed better. I would suggest they used a little hot water and a matcha whisk to get better consistency with powder teas. The tea my partner got was also pretty unsweetened but I can see the argument for having that unsweetened for the sake of the sugary boba. The menu for the boba was confusing to understand for anyone used to other boba places. Terms like Tea, Shake, and Soda confuse. It makes sense after it being explained, but they really should organize the different flavors and separate the teas and syrup flavors from the shakes. Aside from this, it’s a great spot for ice cream and anime! My favorite definitely is the blackberry lemon bar. They just need some improvements here and there on the drink menu and preparation. Also the employees could sound a little less annoyed when explaining it all…

Seemed unkempt and had no public restrooms. Only 2 lactose free flavors that taste like sherbet. Others in my party weren't impressed with the ice cream flavor they purchased.

I love the number of choices and toppings available at this ice cream parlor! I had the James brownie, two scoops and fudge with brownie pieces. The flavors old fashioned vanilla and brownie cascade were both rich and delicious. I wasn't able to finish. I will be back for another James brownie for sure.

Enjoyed the excellent staff, and welcoming facility. Very cute themes, and fun for the family as a whole. Board games on site with seating and old style arcade games. Excellent icecream, and prices are far cheaper than sub zero. Facility has a small play area for Tikes, and there is plenty of parking on the back side of building. Be sure to pay this place a visit. Comforted in Historic Irvington.

Wow. I fell in love with this place quickly. The ice cream here is fantastic. They have many flavors, and I love their unique creations. (I just had raspberry cheesecake oreo tonight! Yum.) They rotate flavors, when one runs out, they don't replace it right away with the same flavor. The staff is super friendly as well.

Ice cream is decent but one of the workers was rude. That person was also training somebody and was very rude to him and was causing a scene because he didnt use the correct scoop size for the kiddie cup. I spent well over 20 dollars for ice cream and she wouldn't even let me purchase a banana for my 1 year old niece who cannot eat ice cream. My husband finally had to go up and reason with them and insisted they sell us atleast a banana "topping" (which is just a banana cut up). Way too much hassle for something so simple.

Loved this shop. Took my 4 grandchildren of all ages and they loved it! Great selection of hard ice cream! And bubble tea. My 14 yr old granddaughter loved all the anime products and clothing they had for sell. My grandsons were intrigued by the 90’s Pac-Man machine they have in there.

I took my 4 girls out for a sweet treat so we could have some mom and daughter time. My girls love the shop and the ice cream. Service was great! We all picked a flavor of ice cream and paid in a timely manner. As a mom I love seeing younger people learning customer service at a local shop. We will definitely return!!!

The ice cream varieties seemed like they had went down from the last time I have been in there. The ice cream was very good on the sugar cone that we had,but the room was filled with so much other products to sell that they really cut down on any room to sit and enjoy your ice cream.

We arrived right before closing, and the staff were still willing to serve us. They were friendly and kind, gave us lots of samples. Had many delicious flavors of ice cream, as well as bubble tea and milkshakes! Great atmosphere, definitely a fun vibe. They have longer hours and are open until 8:30, which is a great spot for some after-dinner dessert! Would recommend trying.

We recently used the Wylie Truck as the dessert for our wedding reception. Jared was super adaptable when it rained out. Our guests commented on how great the ice cream was all night and into the next week. It is super affordable and definitely one of the highlights of our wedding!

I had found this ice cream shop in 2019. Was so excited to get something other than Dairy Queen. The ice cream is fabulous although it could be a hit or miss for some since selection is limited and flavors may not be what you were hoping for. I get the same flavor that is a regular so no worries for me. The reason for only 3 stars is that every time you walk into this shop is reeks of Pine-Sol! Who really has a taste for ice cream when all you smell is some sort of very heavy chemical in the store. It is quite overpowering. When you read their back story the place sounds so quaint and inviting. When you enter it is not quaint or inviting whatsoever. Not sure of the vibe they were going for but the place is dingy and this remodel of sorts makes it look even more drab and dirty even though it smells of disinfectant. I order a waffle cone and usually get 1 scoop because it is so large. This most recent time I had to get 2 scoops because the one scoop barely filled the cone. Not sure if there is training on how to fill a cone but if so I think a little retraining may be in order. I will return as I enjoy the ice cream but if you are looking for a quaint or even trendy ice cream shop this is not it.

I've been going to Wylie for about 3 years now and they always have the most delicious ice cream in town! Flavors vary and the atmosphere in side the shop is fun and energetic. Employees are local high school kids, and it's great to see local businesses partnering to grow the community.

Literally the best ice cream shop I've been to so far. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming! The employees were efficient, informative and kept up with such a quick pace while still making quality treats! And the ice cream? DELICIOUS! It was so flavorful, and there was a flavor for everything you could want! I also have a strong appreciation for the hand drawn labels. That gives the displays such a genuine feel. I love this place, I can't wait to come again!

Cute little ice cream shop with delicious homemade & often unique flavor selection. I had the Butter Beer which gave off Willy Wonka vibes for days & tasted amazing. Like a liqoud butterescotch candy. Got the soy made ice cream for my lactose intolerant yet favorite son & we both agreed we thought it was pretty good. You can tell it's it non-dairy but they nailed it with the texture & consistency.

Haven't been in since COVID-19...great to go back and see all of the new changes...Wow! We got the Holy Scoop, huge enough for a family of 4-5, delicious! Got 2 Boboa Teas with exploding balls. Also, 2 scoops strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone. Everything was excellent!

Nice ice cream shop in Irvington. My family enjoys the rotating ice cream selection and the anime stuff. However, each visit we have felt rushed to order and the staff is not that friendly in my opinion. I made a little comment to the girl ringing us up about the Japanese snacks and how excited we were and she completely brushed me off -- seemed rude and unpleasant for a counter girl. Definitely did not feel valued as a customer for patronizing this business. Parking is in the back of the building.

Got kiddies scoops in waffle cones for my two kids and two milkshakes. We spent about 17 dollars total. The ice cream was pretty good. They have a green tea ice cream and I mixed it with black cherry. My husband mixed green tea with butter pecan. Neat flavor combinations possible here! The kids had a great time.

Best ice cream in town! Use to be that when I go for ice cream at maybe a 31 flavors spot, is generally always get the exact same two flavors every time. Not at Wyliepalooza! I love the variety! Ice cream was great with a variety of flavors as well as a good selection of other novelties. Loved the atmosphere inside, too. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

They were out of most ice cream varieties last time we were there. All the booths are gone and seating is very limited.

Due to living in a state that doesn't have many anime or Boba tea shops it's always nice to see one. This was a nice little shop with a little collection of anime and Japanese related products and the items were not that expensive now as for the ice cream or Boba I can't say due to the fact I didn't try them. Very good I've cream! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Friendly staff. A little out of the way, but worth it. Seem to run out of my wife's favorite ice cream. Called ahead one weekend, and sure enough, out again. I was told they get their ice cream on Tuesday. So now we go earlier in the week. BTW, her favorite was called "exhausted parent". Thanks!

The dark chocolate Zanzibar ice cream here is worth a trip to this ice cream parlor just by itself. But when you consider that you can combine that delightful flavor with any other number of specialty ice creams varieties far beyond the norm, this is THE go-to ice cream place for us. Yes, they do run out of a popular flavor on occasion; but even then it just meant that I discovered something else that I loved. Recommended!

Omg! So good! Their sundaes are MASSIVE. And their flavors are so unique and delicious you truly can't find them anywhere else. This place is right in the middle of the main strip of Irvington so it's great for grabbing some ice cream and checking out the shops!

The location is unique and that have neat Nick nacks that you can buy scattered around. I got the Oreo scoop and it was delicious, my son loved the chocolate. We will visit this place again next time we are in town.

Great place! I love their taro boba tea shake. Previous review above was 2 years ago. As of December 27th. 2021: I got a taro boba tea and it tasted like water with a hint of coconut. The green tea ice cream tastes like plain ice cream. I'll unfortunately not return.

A favorite ice cream shop with the bonus of being in the interesting community of Irvington. Head down Johnson Ave. from Washington St. and park behind the store. Expect a generous dip of exceptional quality ice cream in a wide variety of flavors. This time I tried Harry Potter-inspired Butter Beer, similar to an old-fashioned soda. There's bubble tea and even a few meal options. Enjoy!

If you're ever driving through Irvington on East Washington street and think to yourself, "I'd sure like some ice cream" and don't stop here...kick yourself. Their ice cream is absolutely wonderful. According to the sign in their shop it's a franchise of a larger company based out of Wisconsin and let's be honest - Wisconsin has the best dairy products. There are TONS of flavors that you can get and different toppings. They also have take-home pint and quart sizes if you want to keep enjoying their frozen, creamy deliciousness in the comfort of your own home on your own couch in your pajamas. Because hey...adulting. TL/DR; Go here. You won't be disappointed.

This is a unique spot with good vibes! Hands down best ice cream I've ever had! And they have boba teas. The James Brownie sundae is my fav! Zoreo is my favorite ice cream flavor! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS Ice Cream! We came to Wyliepalooza in the summer last year and completely fell in love! There’s always a new flavor to choose from every time we go, as theres a constant rotation of flavors, and try some new ones you may like! My current favorites are Banana Creme Pie and Maple Nut! There have been some people saying that the prices are steep, and although it is a bit for a single, first: they have crazy flavors you wouldnt find anywhere else! Coconut Almond? Superman? Second!: They give you a TON of ice cream for a single. The first few times we went, we tried getting doubles and left too full to handle. They’re also one of the only Ice Cream shops that are open YEAR ROUND! Wylie is 100% worth it, and we’re both gonna miss it so much when we go to college :’-(. Save some Green Tea and Coconut Almond Bliss for when we visit! <3

Absolutely love that zanzibar ice cream. 🍦No other ice cream like it! It's the best dark chocolate gluten free ice cream ever made. Well worth the 2 1/2-3 hour trip! (Just need to switch your cleaner to something like Mr clean with febreeze. It smelled way too strong like pinesol for us to sit inside. I clean professionally and it's a much more light pleasant smell.) The employees were friendly and attentive! Wish we had one closer!😍

Cool little ice cream shop in Irvington. The shop is decorated with cute, funky pictures that make it feel like a true ice cream parlor. They have plenty of flavors to choose from and have their own ice cream specials that are adorably named. Unfortunately, the three times I have been in here, it hasn't been an inviting experience. Maybe it's just that teenage awkwardness the workers have? Give the place a try though. It's always good to support small businesses.

The malt was absolutely delicious. We got a banana split also but it tasted as if something had spoiled. Maybe the strawberry sauce they put on it. I like that there was a play area. We will definitely go back for shakes though.

This Irvington ice cream shoppe had reasonable foot traffic during our visit. Generous portions and servers were courteous. Yet, the flavor varieties were few, as compared to what we consider for this brand of ice cream's retail stores of West Lafayette's Silver Dipper (near Chauncey Hill). Wyliepalooza's variety was sparse in comparison and honestly I struggled to decide which of what I consider their variety as perhaps less popular. Ok, I was looking for iced latte da (coffee w/ chocolate chips) but wound up with a cappucino flavor which just didn't compare. There was a really powerful, strong airborne odor in the store that I couldn't place if it was incense (remember the Karma record stores?) that permeated everything almost to the point of asphyxiation. Someone in our party thought it was a cleaning agent. Too much!!!! The only reason I'd return is for the brand of ice cream and perhaps proximity but with knowledge I probably will strain to find a flavor with which I favor or am familiar. The indoor decor is budget teenager oddball knick knacks and even kid finger paintings which is cute but just lends no consistent atmosphere. Okay, there are a few other retail stores selling this Chocalatte Shoppe Wisconsin brand ice cream and yes I think I will try some of those other stores and repost. Now, this store offered other foods than ice cream, so that might be their niche. Parking may be tough during peak days/hours (we went on a Sunday dreary afternoon) and didn't know there's a back door/rear parking lot aside from street parking and what seemed to be one shared public lot across the street. Not a place I'd go to impress a date, but just something low-end quirky.
