Reviews of The Bent Spoon

I eat a lot of ice cream, and this place is hands down my favorite. The flavors rotate regularly, but they always keep a few classics on hand. My go to is their dark chocolate ice cream and raspberry sorbet! I've also had their blood orange sorbet, which is also good.
I hadn't been here in years and recently went sometime in March. It was just as good as I remember! I liked it so much I went back to have it again before leaving! Don't miss out!

It took us twenty minutes waiting in a line just to see the flavors, but it was worth it. Ice cream varieties are unique and original. The method of serving is also unlike I've seen. But most importantly was the taste. You can tell it's artisenal ice cream that's fresh rather than manufactured. It's just all good and your taste buds will love it.

The ice cream is yummy but pricey to me. They have unique flavors, a fun fact is they offered cicada ice cream during the great Brood X cicada emergence in 2021. How cool! Sadly I missed. Now I have to wait another 17 years! I tried their hot cocoa too and again, pricey but worthy. It is very sweet and very thick and creamy. Unlike Starbuck hot chocolate made from powder which will split after a night in the fridge. Their cocoa did not split and I don't know how they did that.

Amazing ice cream! Their sorbet is so refreshing and they have so many variety of flavors. Only downside is they don’t offer all the flavors for the scoop of ice cream and only sell in pints, which means folks who don’t live around the area can’t try those flavors unless they carry around ice packs.

Just passing by Princeton to get an ice cream from PA. It’s a treat for a very warm weather. Always stop by this store because we love their ice cream. The place is small but always packed of ice cream lovers and we are one of those people. All are happy coming out of the store with their ice cream in cone or in cups. We are happy customer always.
jen sluyk
Amazing homemade ice cream! They offer vegan flavors and not just regular vanilla. I had a vegan pumpkin and my fiancé had dairy ice cream and he loved it as well. We cannot wait to come back. The line was long but it was so worth it!!
Dipika Lakhotiya
Best Ice cream, with lots of flavors! Anytime any day you go there will waiting, trust me wroth waiting..they have amazing Ice creams. We tried mango/ coffee and raspberry, love it!
David Chastain
The one size cup with two flavors is the perfect serving of ice cream a fair $6.95. Vegan options options available for those with allergies. I had milk chocolate and white vanilla cookies and cream. SO GOOD!! The wooden spoon I got broke trying to scoop my first bite. Watch out for that.

Checked out the famous bent spoon gelato in Princeton . I loved the ricotta pistachio . It was rich and flavourful . However I did not love the dark chocolate and I have had better dark chocolate gelato in my life.
Ricotta pistachio - 9/10
Dark chocolate - 6/10
Ido Simyoni
Loved their classic hot chocolate. Wasn’t a fan of the marshmallows though (too much honey) . Whipped cream was good . Wish they bring back the lavender hot chocolate.
Juhan Song
Hands down one of the best ice cream places I have ever tried. Highly recommend you try this place and ask for recommendations if you can't choose from their abundant and ever changing flavours. JUST. TRY.
Quinn Favo
The best ice cream I have ever had. You can taste the quality. The crème fraîche was top-notch and the banana crème actually tasted like real Bananas, not like the artificial flavoring you find in most ice cream nowadays. The line was out the door and around the block even though it wasn't too hot of a day. It was well worth the wait.

Note: Cash is NOT required like it was in the past.
First time here, and I was looking for the coconut ice cream, which I've been told rivals that which you can find in the Caribbean. Sadly, it was not available today.
But I did get to try two great flavors. The Dark Chocolate Orange tasted just like a good orange dark chocolate bar. Both it and the Peanut Butter Cookie I had with it had a nice, somewhat dry texture that I really appreciated.
The Passion Fruit my son had was good, and interesting, but not something I could ever order. My wife's Vegan Pumpkin and Vegan Mint Chocolate Chip were better, but still not something an ice cream purist like me would order.
There was a long, long wait to order the ice cream. You have to take a number (I was 12; 86 was being served as we arrived). But the process was orderly and very COVID safe.
There's only one size, and it costs $6 per clear cup. Portion size is only average. A good experience, but not perfect due to a few things. I'd still come again, though.
Update: after a second visit, I'm downgrading my rating. It's just not living up to the hype. The ice cream is fine, and I think the vegan option are great (for being vegan), but I'm just not impressed enough. Either the portion size would have to be larger, or the flavors better. 3 stars.

I wish the inside was open because the pictures of the drink's and desert looks good on the website. The cupcake was too small for the price but delicious! I would probably buy more, I'm not going to lie. 😂 I enjoyed the Hot Chocolate as well but I wish it was larger for the price I paid, oh well it's Princeton I guess, Next time I'll try the chocolate chip cookies.
Marat Nizberg
Ice cream was delicious. The wait in line was definitely worth it. Coffee and Mango Cinnamon was our favorite
Donella Held
Excellent ice cream and sorbets. My fam liked all the ice cream they got. I tried the vegan dark chocolate and coconut sorbet, since I forgot my Lactaid, and was impressed by how creamy and and smooth they were. Only one size option available. They took credit card when we were there. Would go back!
connie farnham
Different flavors! All are delicious! We tried avacado lime, coffee cookie and a few more! Worth the little wait to get them! Will definitely come back!
Paul Vetrano
Excellent ice cream. Freaking awesome! If you are in Princeton and was delicious ice cream....this is a place you need to check out!
ECVF
AMAZING VEGAN HOT CHOCOLATE. You literally dont find this anywhere!! Also, it was so perfect and next to the christmas tree. Although the line was long, it went by fast! They need more space & to open another bigger location!! So so happy :) The staff was super sweet and even let us try some before ordering. They also have so many vegan options for ice cream! One downside is its superrr pricey, but i’ll definitely return when they lower their price!

This is the ice cream for the ice cream connoisseur. You will know it from your very first bite (or lick). Very popular with locals and countless visitors to Princeton. They offer highly creative flavors, menu that always excites you, convinces you to try new combinations made from quality ingredients. They seem to focus on local sourcing where possible. Financial Times recently rated this place as world's one of the best ice creamery. Small space, super busy with lines that usually snake outside, but thanks to many smiling attendants inside you will get your hands on your unique treat quickly.
Chareese Gibson
This place is small boutique artisan style ice cream. Unique flavors very good combination of hard and soft serve ice cream.
Krishna Sathi
A good choice of ice creams and shakes are available. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve tasted but some great flavor.
rimla khawaja
The creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had. This was worth the drive. Expect a long line outside.
Ngan Chung
I have been here two times and the ice cream is very good but not the best I have had. It would be nice to see more seasonal flavors. The great thing is their vegan ice cream is amazing. I had to wait 45 mins on a Friday night and 25 mins on a Sunday afternoon. Get a ticket when you arrive to place an order.
Krishan Tailor
This is a tiny little ice cream shop in Princeton that packs some serious flavors. We tried the mango sorbet and the lavender ice cream. It was delightful. The only reason I dinged a star was during summer the show is so small and crowded that it becomes a little claustrophobic inside. We're still going through a pandemic and so just a better way to manage the crowd would have been a better way to do it.
Rigel J
Just found some of the Bent Spoon's vegan mint chocolate bit over at Basil Bandwagon in Clifton, NJ. WOW! This is the best vegan ice cream I've ever had! Will definitely be coming into the Princeton shop one day to try some more flavors!
sai subramaniam
Not into ice cream at all - but that lavender ice cream at this place blew my mind 😍
A friend from Princeton took us to this place - his favourite hangout! Comes here over the weekend and sits in the park and relishes it with his family at the park bench opposite to this place and his pooch is happy running around!!
Again, i am not into ice creams! But if you are - then you are missing something great , if you do not visit this place!
Place gets crowded and you have to stand out for a while. But it’s pure worth once you have their awesome ice creams and other items 😍
amir vasebi
We ordered different flavours ( dark chocolate , cinnamon, coconut & raspberry apple cider), all were good. Highly recommended.
The Local Foodie
I've been going to The Bent Spoon for over a decade and I love everything they serve. If you want to support an honest local business that truly serves the community (seriously, the amount of money/food they donate and charitable efforts they do are phenomenal), this is the place. I only urge the business to please work on making the ordering process more efficient. I've been coming here for years, and it seems that each visit has me waiting in line longer than the last. Don't know if it's the high turnover because of the young students working there or the small space, but this place really needs to become more efficient at taking orders and serving to customers. It's been an ongoing issue for years now. Regardless, the ice cream is fantastic and the business does lots of good work.
Sebastien Michelin
Awesome icecream shop with original and flavourful choices that regularly change. The staff is super friendly and happily lets you taste before ordering. Highly recommend, regardless whether it is cold or hot outside. Only too bad I couldn't go back there a second time.
Daniel Floda
Some truly unexpected flavors here (like clementine with pine), and constantly rotating. A few of the flavors have been a miss (like the Christmas fruit cake), but overall, the creativity is phenomenal and it's always been a unique experience. Definitely make a habit of coming here to try whatever they think of next.
Funda Fernandez
Cute little spot to get some ice cream. Variety of flavors. Not overly sweet and good quality. Wouldn't drive out of my way for it, but if in the area would get again. Long line to get ice cream but I guess that's to be expected. Inside is cramped for so many people and felt rushed to make a decision, maybe they should post a sign outside with flavors so can decide during that long wait online?
Ruby Portnoy
best ice cream i ever had. they have a ton of seasonal flavors but milk chocolate hazelnut is always my go to, (try it if you like nutella). i will say there is usually a wait or a line but nothing too crazy and it is always worth it.
Jaquie Sol
Extremely smooth and deeply flavorful ice cream with creative flavors. Wierd but really good homemade taste that I've never experienced. Great vegan options. Line looks intimidating but moves fast, get a pint while you're in.
Cooke Harvey
Got there right as it opened(the other night there was a line 25 people deep.) Good vegan options bright, sunny personnel but I could not find any water.
Ben Geschwind
Amazing ice cream, with unusual flavors. The sweet corn & cream and the NJ Ricotta were both among the best I've ever had. Well worth the wait in line.
Bethany Kwak
They’ve got good flavors, and the ice cream is deliciously creamy, but the portions are pretty small for $6.50. Bent Spoon’s ice cream quality is slightly better than Halo Pub’s, but Halo Pub is more worth it considering the prices/sizes.
Athena L
I did not like Mango Lassi, it had too manu specks of spice / cardamom? and strong taste from it.
Ryan Guasp
I cannot visit Princeton without stopping at The Bent Spoon. They have an ever-changing roster of flavors. They have classics like chocolate and vanilla as well as more experimental flavors like avocado, crème fraîche, lemon mascarpone. Honestly, they have some of the best ice cream I've ever had.
C Hernandez
Pull up to a spot with a line out front and you know its going to be good. Great natural tasting ice cream flavors with a lived in atmosphere what else can you want.

Love love love the ice cream but please ditch the wooden spoons! The wooden flavor is so apparent when eating your ice cream and ruins the experience.
Aileen McNamara
Hazelnut ice cream cone was as generous as it is delicious. Transported my right back to Italy as we strolled the adjacent Princeton campus with our confections.
Mounica B
This store accepts only cash. Ice cream tasted good (Turkish coffee, grape, mango, fruit cake, cookies and cream), lot of flavors to choose from. Service was good. I understand it’s a local business but for literally 4 scoops why 7$. Quantity doesn’t do any justice to price. Other than that, everything is fine.
eileen o'connor
Exceptional ice cream! You can really taste the creative flavors, not too creamy or airy. My fave!
Ellie Joy P.
I appreciate a lot these kind of local businesses that offer healthy yummy food items! We had a late ice-cream dessert and I appreciated a lot the authentic dark chocolate taste of the dark chocolate sorbet! You can tell you are eating that certain flavor that you asked for, not just a blend of sugars: real ice-cream! They do have some seats both inside and outside to sit and enjoy your treat, but there are also many benches at walking distance, like across the street, that you can also enjoy.
spoorthi Shres
Great variety of ice cream flavors to enjoy, love the staff and vibe. Please note indoor seating is limited and place gets crowded during weekends, prepared to stand in line to get inside
Ash Allsop
The Bent Spoon, based on the name alone one would believe they would be known for soup but in all honesty, their best selling products seem to be their raw cookie doughs which are delicious without being overly sweet.
--
On my first visit I tried the Guinness Braised Beef Dip with a Side of Macaroni & Cheese Soup. The sandwich was delicious, you could actually taste the beef and cheese and the bread really tied it together because it was still soft on the inside but nice and crusty on the outside. Personally I did not enjoy the Mac & Cheese soup as much as I could have with a few tweaks, the soup itself is okay, I could make better and have made better the problem is that the way they serve it without a garnish of a sharper cheese or even mixing in more sharper cheese makes it taste a little bland but it was great for dipping my sandwich in. :) The price for the sandwich and soup was great $11ish for the both which compared to many places in Burlington is very reasonable, I will definitely come back to have lunch here again.
I ended up trying their Peanut Cluster Raw Cookie Dough in a Waffle Cone, this tasted really good, I kept eating it and my brain was thinking it should be cold but it wasn't so I think next time I would prefer it as a sundae however it left me wanting to try the other flavors which is a good thing for business. I'm not a huge fan of sweets due to working in a bakery and testing products a lot.
One of the owners is a previous teacher of mine, he is partially responsible for why I got into cooking and changed my life in the process. Great guy.
Sushil Pangarkar
Interesting place in Beautiful Princeton University campus. Variety of ice cream flavors which you never thought of but they are really nice.. small cozy place but awesome friendly staff. Definitely recommended if you in Princeton area
Jacob Park
Yummy Alphonso Mango and Blood Orange sherbet. The spoons are not actually bent though. However, the service is great!
Rachana Khedekar
Unique flavor & delicious ice cream & cup cake.
In weekend it's always rushed. waiting time would be 10 to 20 mins

You know when you hear and read so much buzz about a place, you get really curious and wonder, “will it live up to the hype?” I can say unequivocally, “YES!!!”
Hubby and I were in the Princeton area, so we decided, we had to try it out. After all, we’ve already been to Thomas Sweet Ice Cream and Halo Pub so, of course, we have to try this place. Upon arriving, the line was not bad at all and we waited perhaps no more than 15 minutes. We saw they had a one-size cup with two flavors for only $6.95. Yes, you read correctly. I wondered if the sizes were going to be small and I can say unequivocally, no, they are a perfect size. I appreciate they used biodegradable cups and wooden spoons with a long handles. My two chosen flavors were Lemon Mascarpone and Creme fraiche. Hubby's chosen flavors were Bananas & Cream and Cardamom Ginger. The flavors were so rich and knowing they made their ice cream using organic and fresh ingredients only make me appreciate this place even more.
I have read some say the prices are a bit steep but being at several other ice cream places, I would say for what you are getting, it is worth every penny.
Be sure to ask for a sample of the flavor you are interested in. They have so many interesting flavors such as Avocado lime, Gingersnap, Local Ricotta, and Rhubarb just to name a few. This is a true artisan ice cream parlor. Already, I’m dreaming about the next flavors to try.
Agnes Y
We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the line was long, but thanks to the prompt staff, the wait was not long. The ice cream I tasted after waiting is soft and luxuriou:) Vanilla Bean is a must!!!
Grace Woodard Chan
Such tasty ice cream!! And I loved the paper cups they were served in! My friend went to Princeton years ago and apparently the bent spoon is a real institution downtown. The flavors were fun and unique and packed with delight.
Mary M
Great ice cream place with unique flavors that you will not find anywhere else! The local nectarine was the most delicious sorbet I’ve ever tasted! I always have to stop here when I’m in Princeton
Kartik Gopal
Hard ice cream, unique and wonderful flavors, nice hot drinks and cookies as well. Bit on the pricy side.
Sandra Price
Really great vibe to the place and yummy vegan and seems be regular ice cream judging by all the smiles and that line. 😁
Don't be afraid.. Get on line it moves fast and it's worth it.
Enjoy!
Nathan Kang
European level ice cream! Their mango flavor actually tasted like mango, not artificial. The other flavors were also great! When we went, there wasn't much of a line, so we were lucky. I have to knock off a star because the portion is not great for the price, as you can get a pint of ice cream somewhere else for the same price of 2 small scoops here.
Claire Wayner
Best ice cream in Princeton. Possibly the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Subtle flavors that aren’t too sweet. Very creamy consistency with no ice crystals. I recommend any of the chocolate flavors or the mascarpone.
Amy Lampert
The long line moves fast enough. Always vegan options for those who can't have regular dairy like me. The vegan dark chocolate is amazing!!
James
Love this place. We always get ice cream when we visit Princeton. There is a nice park with plenty of chairs so you can sit and enjoy.
Akshatha Rao
I tried the vegan dark chocolate ice cream and mango sorbet (also vegan). Wow!! Couldn't believe how creamy and thick the ice cream was. It was heaven. 😍 …
Yolanda P
If you’re a connoisseur of Artisan ice cream or sorbet this is the place to be. Everything is made in house. All ingredients are provided by local farm’s. This place is very vegan friendly you can’t go wrong. Any and every flavor that you get is a certified winner if you’re ever in the town of Princeton this is a iconic place to stop. You will never think of ice cream the same way again.
Michelle Hernandez
Super cute ice cream shop in an adorable part of Princeton. The ice cream is really good and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend it!
RIYA PAREKH
I love Ice Cream & this place definitely goes in my list of favorite spots! Its reasonable & you can get two different flavors of your choice! Vegan friendly! 👍 …
Sumit Malhotra
Great shakes and ice creams. ice creams are not on display, but they are happy to help you taste before making a choice.
Vita
I just want to say, that the ice- cream from the Bent Spoon was the best that I tried ever! I'm not joking at all. Absolutely tasty. 💯 Recommend …
Sarah Riffel
Probably the very best Ice cream I’ve had in a long time! I had the vanilla malt and the apple ginger snap. They were both to die for!
Sarah Goldshteyn
This ice cream was PHENOMENAL. It’s a small place so during the summer there’s often a line out the door, but it’s worth the wait. They have various unique flavors that most other ice cream places in the area would not have. The blueberry mascarpone was so good! Highly recommend and i’m looking forward to visiting again in the future.
Ro So
Great ice cream with fantastic varieties! Sweet corn and olive oil are my two new favorites!
Prokshit Angadi
Delicious ice cream. Best mango, banana and coconut ice cream I have ever had till now. Good service
JAMES H.
This is the only ice cream shop we go every time we visited Princeton! I love their new creative flavors even though I heard many other great ice cream shops around . It’s not that expensive compared with those fancy ice cream shops in NYC.
Zach Gates
I’m dairy free and their sorbets are amazing! I also love when they have the rare vegan ice cream. Absolutely delicious. Would love to see more creamy vegan stuff in their cool flavors (corn, basil, lavender, etc)
Update 7/30/22 - They listened or I got lucky, but I cannot BELIEVE how grateful I am. Vegan corn ice cream!!!!!! It was ridiculous!!! Thank you!!!!!
TheWildEgg
I got the icecream and donut sandwich. It was really good I had cookies and cream icecream in it. I would recommend. Cash and card excepted.
Manan Mehta
Really nice ice-cream. My friend suggested me to visit there and I have to make plan to go there as it is 1.5 hrs away from my house but I can say the ice cream and the hot chocolate both were worth the time spent on travel. But if you are nearby then I would say must try it once. You can feel all the flavors as if it is real. Will be visiting it very soon. It's worth to waiting in line in freezing cold.
Малко София
Iconic place for hot chocolate and non traditional ice cream tastes in Princeton.
Habanero hot chocolate is amazing !!
Matthew Stevens
Seriously the best hot chocolate. Very rich and well worth the $6 price. Vegan option available as well.
Sahnaz Saleem
THE BEST ICE CREAM IN PRINCETON. So many unique flavors, daily. They change they flavors every day and incorporate seasonal ingredients in their ice creams. They also make the best hot chocolate I've ever had. Be warned, it's very thick but also extremely delicious. You can tell the quality of the ingredients are superior to surrounding ice cream establishments.
Lucinda Gonzales
Delicious ice cream at a good price for a college town. I definitely liked that they use biodegradable spoons and cups. There are sorbet/non-dairy options available as well.
Jackie Liu
The Bible speaks of a land flowing with milk and honey, and that land is the property lot of the Bent Spoon. Ridiculously good options every day of the week.
Rich G
Probably the best ice cream in New Jersey or anywhere for that matter. Stumbled upon it by chance and so happy we did.
Myra
Cash only! This is hands down my favorite spot in Princeton. There are so many creative flavors to try here, don't be afraid to ask for a sample. My favorite flavors are the earl grey and hazelnut milk chocolate.
Shreya Kulkarni
Love the eclectic seasonal flavors and also the regular one👍👍 If you missed the Cicada Choc Chip....next available 2038😋🐞 …
KC 1199
Amazing options. Check out the seasonal rotations as well. They have a loyalty card too. They have dairy-free and coconut-free as well as traditional ice-cream. On top of that they offer some daring flavors today was the "Old Bay Sweet Corn" and it delivered. Thanks so much.
Jane Usatin
Three days and three visits. Exotic selection of ice creams. Totally recyclable utensils and containers. Friendly staff. The park across the street is where you'll want to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Will definitely return next time we're in town.
Kolleen
This ice cream shop has some unique flavors. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was truly “vintage” like many other places in Princeton. I enjoyed a butter pecan milkshake. Not the most clever choice of ice cream flavor for a milkshake due to the pecan bits, but it was VERY tasty. My friend also enjoyed her milkshake which she says she must get whenever she is in the area. I would love to try their other milkshakes whenever I’m in town. The only downside is that they wouldn’t allow my friend and I to try any samples before ordering so we had to cross our fingers that it was going to be good.
Mukaram Syed
Small but cute ice cream shop with delicious flavors. My kids loved it! However they only take cash 💰. Time to accept credit cards 💳!!! …
Alexander Chang
Hey Matt and Gab (or whoever reads this)! I'm a very loyal Bent Spoon customer. I've *always* enjoyed my many experiences at the Bent Spoon until today. I asked the person working there if she knew if the Kulfi milkshake was good and she responded with a definitive yes. I ordered it, and it was honestly undrinkable. I came with 6 friends all who also tried it and they agreed. They also thought it was better to throw out than to drink. As a current employee once told me, employees are told to recommend seasonal flavors instead of their actual preferences. However, this ruined my experience today. If only the person taking my order was honest and replied with either no or I'm not sure, it would have made everything better. I hope you please take this to heart and remove this policy, since it just makes already-paying customers have worse experiences.
Danny Mcguiness
Great artisan ice cream! This is a must go when your in Princeton, in the heart of palmer square!
Laura Doto
Delicious coconut sorbet plus a chocolate, blood orange cardamon ice cream. All cups (2 scoops) are $6.25. Friendly place ( coffee is next door).
Jenny Johansen
I've been going to the Bent Spoon for the past 3 years now and somehow I still always forget they only take cash until I've already ordered, oops! The selection of ice creams varies greatly and if you like interesting flavors that aren't all that common, you'll love this parlor.
Monica Pham
Ice cream are delicious. I ordered a ice cream sandwich and ask for a double scoop and the guy told me NO. I ask even if I could pay extra for it? He still told me NO! So that was rude. So a stranger behind me order a double scoop ice cream and share the other scoop with me so I can create this doublelicous ice cream sandwich. Mango and coconut! 😍😄
Randia Coronacion
Saturday line is pretty fast. Fresh homemade ice cream of Princeton🍦 …
jome jacob
The ice cream here is worth the wait as it's tasty and fresh. Wish they move to a bigger facility.
Ravi Bharadwaj
So flavorful that the Sr. Citizen in the family had a total of 4 scoops for the variety of flavors. Just excellent!!
Vishwa Ragala
Such a wonderful experience!! Loved every bit of it. Specially the Hot chocolate topped with Marshmallows are amazing!!
Joe Roohr
Showed up here for the vegan ice cream. Absolutely delicious! I had the Peppermint Shtick and Dark Chocolate Vegan Ice Cream, and I would recommend the peppermint shtick over the chocolate. Popular spot so expect a bit of a wait to order.
Koshali Shah
One of the best ice cream places in NJ amongst all I have been to so far in NJ. creamy texture and amazing quality and quantity. And the off beat flavours are just like a cherry on top. Must visit.
Michelle Rynkewicz
I got the vegan chocolate ice cream and my husband bought Jersey Lemon Blueberry. The ice cream was thick and tasted so amazing. I stole a little of the lemon blueberry, and even though the chocolate was great, I wanted to steal his.
Lana Sarchiapone
Great ice cream and best hot chocolate ever!
Ruri O
Made with wholesome ingredients you can taste with herbs sprinkled in some flavors. One of the best ice creams that I have tasted! Come fall/winter, they have the thickest hot chocolates just like the ones in Europe/France. It’s like “eating” molten chocolate, not really drinking.
Christine Kim
The ice cream here is great! The shop is very small and cute but typically has a long line of customers because of its variety of unique ice cream flavors. It only accepts cash for payment.
Nirali Shah
Love their ice cream. They have vegan options as well. If you want wider range of choice in ice cream, you should go early. Some great flavors are sold out by 9 pm. Also they have huge line & waiting so plan accordingly
Chris Caravella
Amazing ice cream! Great texture and a unique selection of flavors while still having some safe picks for more old-school snackers. They also have vegan options and they do an "allergy scoop" for those with allergies, like my son. Great to have a safe place for him to eat!!
Big Wilson
Just some really amazing ice cream. Nothing like it around.
Stephen Fox
Incredibly delicious and unusual flavors of ice cream makes this our favorite.
Mary Vercruysse
The temperature was 95°. We stopped by to see if their ice cream was the best. My mango sherbertc was delicious. My son's cookies and cream inspired him to go to Thomas Sweet and get dark chocolate covered jelly candy. Great experience!
M B
The Bent Spoon is a place I always stop by on my trips to Princeton. Their ice cream is amazing, and it changes with locally available products along with the seasons. They also have VEGAN options!!!
The ice cream is creamy, delicious, and has the perfect amount of sweetness. And!!! Their team working there is just as sweet as their ice cream. 🥺
jorge norat
They supply unique and tasty ice cream flavors from the common such as vanilla bean it the adventurous as chocolate jalapeno. They also have fresh baked goods and treats. You definitely need to stop by when visiting Princeton.
Janie Hermann
Unique flavors and so yummy that there are no words to describe the deliciousness of everything they make and serve. In addition to wonderful ice cream they make my all time fave cupcakes. Plus the owners are very engaged in the community. It is a must visit for anyone who lives in or visits Princeton.
Chan Wai Kin
The vegan dark chocolate and apple pear ice cream and sorbet are so good! I haven’t had the creamy texture for so long time! It’s so delicious!
Lexi Holstin
Tried the rosewater ice cream - tasty and refreshing
Hubby tried dark chocolate orange flavor and said it was amazing ...
Some parking right outside
$6-7 per person ....
Carolina Bobadilla-Mendez
Great ice cream! They also have strange flavors that I love to try. It is a bit on the more expensive side but every time I am in the area I have it so it is definitely worth it even during winter.

Soooooo good. Really nice artisanal ice cream with both traditional and something odd flavors. The blueberry stout is a unique to them but my favorite is the coffee cookie which is basically cookies and cream with a coffee base. Not too sweet
Paul Ochs
I enjoyed the NJ Strawberry and the Basil ice cream. Wow! Amazing. The lemon cherry and the Ricotta were also wonderful. My son enjoyed the mint chocolate, so much that he didn't offer any for us to try. Delicious! We will be back soon.
Gabby Aron
This ice cream shop is SUPREME…. On every level. Nourishing, decadent, fun, adorable, seriously good stuff. Spoon head for life.
Tamara Petrosyan
Definitely worth the wait for the ice cream. They have a lot of very unique and delicious flavors, the coffee with ice cream inside was especially good. There is a small park with seating right across the street which also has a large cornhole game to play.
Jake Freyer
I didn’t need so much ice cream, but it was very good. The sweet cream vanilla was really great; dark chocolate orange had a nice bittersweet, raw cocoa flavor that I really liked (but might not appeal to everyone). Very efficient outdoor pandemic service too.
Ikram Khan
I liked the ice cream but the flavors option is not what I wanted. I guess you have to go on certain days to get some good flavors. The mango ice cream was delicious even though it was vegan.
Jeongeun Park
Excellent ice cream flavors and fall themed desserts.
Lily Huber
Best. Ice cream. Ever. The Bent Spoon undoubtably makes the best ice cream in the world. I think it says a lot that I still go there for ice cream in the middle of January. The ice cream is always fresh, super tasty, with very rich flavors! Their baked goods are delicious as well. Plus, they have great customer service.
Keri
ABSOLUTELY the best ice cream i’ve ever had. super soft and full of flavor. they have really tasty flavors like tropical citrus and raspberry sorbet. all homemade. really really small interior with 1 place to sit that’s usually packed with people. the line goes out the door which is a good sign. service is quick so you’re never waiting long.
B Gre
I was at the Bent Spoon for the first time recently based on a recommendation from a family member. She gushed about this place. I have a food allergy, and I told the woman taking our order, and specifically ordered a flavor that accommodated that allergy. When I got home and opened my pint, I took one bite and immediately had a reaction. I had been given the wrong flavor. I returned very upset the next day with the pint, and the staff was OUTSTANDING! They were so kind, understanding, and apologetic. I didn't ask for a refund, just an exchange, but the gave me both, even after I protested the refund. I was blown away at the customer service and kindness. Also... the correct flavor was delicious!
dennis koshy
Great ice creams, vibrant location. Some of the flavors are really unique. Small gets you two different scoops, medium three and a large, four. Among the variants, Buttermilk was the strangest, best avoided unless you are really adventurous. Sometimes the queue can stretch way outside the front door, but service is fast, efficient and friendly. Don't expect any seating inside.
J
I really enjoy ice cream from the bent spoon. It is never overly sweet and typically the flavors have a good profile. They usually have some less common ice cream flavors available as well as standard ones like vanilla and seasonal options like blueberry.
Nola Savage
I wanted something sweet to end the night and this place made it happen. There was a decent line out the door when we got there, but the ice cream was worth the wait.
I got a mocha and lemon cookie ice cream sandwich and it was huge! The mocha ice cream tasted just like a mocha with a nice kick of delicious coffee. I also got to try some of their fruitier flavors thanks to my friends and each of the fruits' flavors were pronounced without masking the sweet cream.
The service was quick and the staff was nice, so overall, I'd say this was a great experience. Can't wait to visit again.
Dave McBride
The ice cream is just as pure and full of flavor as everyone says. As soon as you get there take a number then check the flavors currently in stock. Crazy busy on weekends in nice weather. Worth it.

Growing up in the Princeton area, The Bent Spoon was always the ultimate hangout spot and lavender mascarpone was synonymous with what the "cool" people were having. As someone who loves trying unique, unusual, and innovative flavor combinations, I never got the hype around Bent Spoon ice cream.
To be fair, I think I've tried really hard to like it. I have had several of their celebrated flavors like blood orange and earl grey. I have also stood in long lines without complaint at this place, even on a bone-chilling February day, so that out-of-town friends could try this local favorite. Each time, I was hopeful that maybe this time I'd finally be wowed.
My latest visit was during covid times, when you can order a pint online and pick it up by their back door. It had been a few years since I was last here, so I thought this was a good way to give it one more go without the lines. I picked a half-pint of Chocolate Cardamom Orange and another of Pink Rose. After trying them, I officially give up.
First of all, I firmly believe that ice cream should be creamy. And creamy does not have to mean sickeningly heavy and/or loaded with artificial junk to give it texture. Light and refreshing scoops made with good quality ingredients can be creamy too! At Bent Spoon, the ice cream is quite icy, which is just so frustratingly unsatisfying.
Let me address the flavors I most recently tried. The Chocolate Cardamom Orange was quite okay. The chocolate flavor was robust and the citrus flavor from the orange was fresh and worked well with the chocolate. However, I could not taste cardamom in there anywhere; neither could any of my family. Which was too bad, since chocolate + orange, while a solid combo, isn't new or exciting. Pink Rose was a major disappointment. The rose flavor was overly sweet and tasted completely artificial. Also, there was no interesting flavor pairing with the rose; I kept hoping to taste a hint of salt or spice or nuts, but there was nothing. Very one-dimensional, and not what you would expect from a place known for creativity.
Overall, their ice cream sounds very appealing but their execution leaves a lot to be desired. But it's not all bad news. At least they're inspiring people to be more adventurous in their ice cream tastes.
Cindy K
Delicious! I had the vegan cookies and cream and a vegan chocolate chunk cookie. So good! The owner is the sweetest person ever too! I highly recommend a visit.
Surinder Singh
This is One amongst the best ice cream parlors I have visited. Lot of variety with some unique flavors.
I just love their flavor 'sea salt caramel', but often it is sold out .... Will be great if the outlet can stock extra.
Nice ambience and perfect locations of their stores is commendable.
Overall great experience !!
Don't miss it if you get a chance to try their flavors.
Bradley Bartolino
Unofficially kicked off the ice cream season last night. Flavor options are quite varied and unique. The small cup I got ($5) allows you to enjoy two flavors, which was a pleasant surprise. They also have some baked goods to take home for later. Inside is very tight with a few chairs, but really you should be taking your cup/cone and enjoying it outside, preferably as you walk Nassau Street.
Aakriti Thakur
Their flavors are delicious and they’re very creative. Regardless of the long lines at any given time, they try to be quick with your order. That said, they really rush you and make the whole ordering process feel a bit hostile. At least this was my experience the few times I went, hopefully it won’t be yours!
Tara Tai
The excellent, adorable little ice cream shop right off the main shopping street in Princeton is stuffed to the gills with amazing desserts including but not limited to ice cream. Flavors are inventive -- brown clove, "stuffing" in honor of Thanksgiving, and sweet potato with toasted honey marshmallow are just of the few that were on when I visited last. The hot chocolates available also have a whole slate of different flavors like pistachio and mocha, and the banana whips looked very good. Note that the ice cream is a bit on the creamier, airy side -- closer to the gelato end of the spectrum.
Don't be scared by the line, it moves very quickly and the people are attentive. Cash only. Smalls allow you to choose two flavors and will put you back $5 -- good for two people to share. Mediums allow you to choose three flavors.
Anoop Kondavaty
Its worth the wait to get your ice cream. The vegan selection is great especially, the vegan hot cacao. The fruit sorbets are exceptionally good.
Joseph
I always have respect for ice cream places that stay open past summer. I was looking for a little bit of lunch dessert and came across the Bent Spoon. It's a cool little shop in Palmer Square that has a wide array of interesting flavors. Since it was November and I was in a fall mood, I got the roasted pumpkin, which was amazing. I'd love to get back here and try more flavors.
Eric Glynn
Most unique flavors you will ever taste. I highly recommend anything they have with lemon in the name! It’s pricey, but if you are aware of that and looking for a special experience it’s the place to go. It is usually very busy and indoor seating is very limited. I recommend taking it to go. The other thing is that they try to handle the long line by taking people’s orders before you may have a chance to even look at the ice cream. Look above at the flavor options, and get a sense of what you might like, then when they ask for your order tell them which samples you want to try if you need to buy time. I find it kind of stressful in there, so the more you know going in the better your experience will be.
Calvin Rose
A fun place to go for sure, and I've been there several times over the past several years, but the ice cream is so-so every time, no matter what flavors I've tried. Last night we decided to get out of the house to try the Coffee Cookie ice cream advertised on Instagram. The picture looked very yummy, and besides, how could you possibly screw up coffee ice cream with cookies in it? Well neither my wife, nor I could discern any coffee flavor at all, and we could tell there were cookies mixed in because they had that familiar cookie crunch, but again, little to no flavor. No chocolate, vanilla, coffee, coconut - no discernable flavors. The texture was smooth and creamy, but you guessed it, no flavor. I was reminded once again why we haven't gone there much in the past.
Avinash Arora
If you're on the fence about a weirder flavor, definitely try it. This place never disappoints!

I grew up in Princeton and since The Bent Spoon opened, it has been the go-to local spot for gelato made with local ingredients. I went today and was intrigued at the new menu options. I got blood orange and avocado-lime. The avocado-lime was up to the Bent Spoon's usual standard, but the blood orange recipe seemed different... More like regular sorbet than what I'm used to getting from the Bent Spoon! Still good - so I'm giving 5 stars, but I hope quality stays the same as tourism in Princeton increases (as it seemed very busy today).
Sam Jan
The attention to detail can be tasted in the flavors of the ice cream and gelato. Expertly crafted with fresh ingredients that shine. They have great flavor combinations in the individual flavors and even more so when combined. The peanut butter ice cream with the grape gelato shows how to perfect flavors on their own can combine into something even more amazing.
Robert Dailey
This is my favorite spot for ice cream in Princeton. The ice cream is has excellent consistency, and there is an amazing variety of creative flavors. Even so, the smallest portion includes twice as much ice cream as I can consume in a single setting. I usually end up eating about half of it. The rest just goes into the trash, as my home freezer is too cold for proper storage of ice cream.
Shalay Foster
I’ve finally got a treat here after hearing so many great reviews. The bent spoon did not disappoint! Every ice cream flavor I tried was outstanding (they were patient enough to let me sample several). I had a hard time choosing but it was worth it. All of the associates were extremely friendly, too.
aj jain
Deeeeeeelicious! OMG this place was heaven. Except expect to add 10,000% of your daily sugar intake. Whatever they put into their ice creams (I went with a large family and ended up trying a lot of different ones) - they felt much sweeter and richer than any other ice cream I've had. I loved their "vanilla malt float" - though my wife wanted to vomit after drinking it. that's how sweet it was.
Perfect for me, but be cautious!
Eric Glenn
Tried a scoop of salt and pepper milk chocolate on top of dark chocolate orange. The subtle heat and orange were a delicious combination! So good! Will be back to try other flavors!
Erin Jones
Many different and interesting flavors. Lime/thyme, coffee cinnamon, Thai peanut as well as all the standard flavors, done very well. About half are made in new jersey. I especially like that they will make several different types of dishes. Made on the spot ice cream sandwiches with different types of cookies and your choice of ice cream is one favorite. Shakes, hot fudge or caramel Sundays, croissants (?). Yum. The place is quite small but the line moves quickly. Beware, like several Princeton shops, cash only.
Kathleen Gill
I live about an hour away but make the drive to Princeton to come here and it never disappoints! Always something unique and delicious in the menu. The baked goods and hit chocolate are amazing as well as the ice cream of course! Very small inside so not the best for a large crowd to hang out and it's cash only.
Grace Cheng
It's hard to go wrong with Bent Spoon. All of their flavors are so good!
George Telegadis
This will likely be the most unique ice cream you will have ever eaten. It's quite over priced but the flavors are beyond unique, everything is freshly made in store, and the friendly staff that help you navigate your decision. The pallette leans to the sophisticated and adventurous, but it makes for a perfect romantic and cozy way to complete a night out with your someone special!
thomas long
Really tasty ice cream. Fun family experience. I really liked my rhubarb gelato.
Eric Himsel
MIND BLOWINGLY GOOD!!! I got an Anjou pear cone and will try every flavor I can. A++
Krupa Patel
LOVE THIS PLACE! I've always been a fan of small ice cream shops but this one takes it to another level. They have unique flavor combinations along with all the staples. I tried a balsamic strawberry and mango last time I was there and MY GOODNESS, IT WAS MAGICAL! If you are ever in the Princeton area, you should visit. It's well worth the hype. Also, it's situated in Palmer Square which has a lot of shops to check out and is a great place to walk around.
Roshan Desai
So good! The ice cream was rich and creamy, tasted almost like a gelato. They've got some real interesting flavors that you won't find elsewhere, definitely worth checking out
Tiffany King
Some of the best, most delicious, and unique ice cream I've ever had. Currently doing curbside/sidewalk orders and pick ups so makes for a special and safe treat these days.
Pooja S
Amazing ice cream using local ingredients! They rotate flavors from something as simple as milk chocolate and as unique as lavender earl grey. In the winter they make hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows!! And their fresh baked cookies and croissants make incredible ice cream sandwiches.
Branden Martin
Great ice cream in really interesting and unique flavors. Try the ricotta if you have the chance, really awesome. The hot chocolate is great but super rich, more so than some people like. I personally love the hot chocolate in the winter, add marshmallow to tone the intensity down.
B Miichi
Best home made gelato and cupcakes too! Interesting flavors and always fresh.. The staff is lovely . its a small place but many nice places to go out and sit around the square. A small two scoops is only $5! Can't beat the price and the taste!
Kya Kaise
Long queues for the ice cream. No place to sit inside but worth the wait - awesome creamy ice-cream. Probably the best ice cream in town!
Nicole
Really delicious and innovative homemade ice cream flavors. Small cup (two scoops) is $5.25. And they wanted to charge me 25 cents for an extra empty cup... Uh?
My sister said it's her top pick for artisan ice cream. Would go back.
There's one table and some chairs. Nice benches outside in palmer Square.
Sumedh Karnik
Unique flavors, very creative in taste & presentation. Pretty crowded and that's a good sign. Summer evenings are even better with a movie in the park or a quite stroll. Open till pretty late.
Attracts nice crowd, don't miss if you are in the area. Or if you are like me, drive 20 minutes for a scoop or two in the company of loved ones.
Mit Kalola
One of the best ice cream shops in NJ. The variety of unique flavors is incredibly refreshing. There are, maybe, one or two other ice cream shops in NJ that offer the types of flavors The Bent Spoon offers. I would highly recommend this place.
Service is always great. One downside is that its cash only.
Hannah Knight
My favorite place to go for ice cream/sorbet! High quality both standard and unconventional flavors- some organic, some vegan, some locally grown. They'll let you taste anything so you get a good combo!
Emily Costa
THE BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. This is not an exaggeration! The ice cream is homemade with local ingredients. The flavors change seasonally - A MUST GO IF IN PRINCETON!!!
Jonah Miller
They have really strange and delicious flavors of ice cream. For example, I had a scoop of Spicy Thai and a scoop of sweet Basil. The ice cream was the perfect temperature, too. Just warm enough to be soft. Heads up though: they only take cash!
Dhirendra Nath Mathur
Small shop but efficient service and good ice cream
Dale Beard
PROS: The ice cream is good and they have a lot of variety.
CONS: $5 for a tiny cup of ice cream. The building is very small and during peak periods the line is out the door.
Overall a nice ice cream parlor. Something to try at least once to see what you're missing.
Trey Studley
One of our favorite ice cream places in Jersey. Anytime we're around Princeton, we stop in for fresh, homemade ice cream in interesting flavors like chocolate rose and Earl grey tea. I like that the small is two flavors so you can try a few. Cash only.
Laura Czarnecki
Most intensely-flavored sorbet I’ve ever tasted. So fresh. Brilliant flavors—I always taste at least a half dozen before making up my mind. The Bent Spoon makes my favorite ice cream and sorbet in the entire world; I don’t live nearby and make pilgrimages for this colossal treat.
Alice Raj
Of the many places to get ice-cream in New Haven, I really enjoy the bent spoon the most. There is something about people running through the door in the summer, excited for some cool relief from the heat. Highly recommend. I love their coffee Ice-cream.
Becky A
The ice cream is great and is busy as expected. Because of this the employees can go on autopilot and make mistakes so double check everything before you leave. I ordered a sundae with caramel and the put hot fudge instead which made a disgusting combination with apple. So I threw away a $6.50 special treat. They try to keep everything moving which is great but make sure you get what you ordered. Especially if you don't get to go much
Justin Weis
Wow delicious..... this line is worth it. Had the blueberry lemon sorbet, so so good
Alan Chicotel
Very tasty ice cream and sorbet. Amongst my family we tried mango, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, peanut butter, lavender and plum, and coconut. Lavender and plum is exactly what it says, it will taste like lavender! Mango tasted like you were actually eating slices right off the fruit. Everything was very good and would recommend this place.
Sam Schneider
This is and always will be one of the best places to get ice cream in NJ. The flavors are rich and diverse and it's always a pleasure going and trying out what's new from the creative minds of the Bent Spoon.
T C
Some unique flavors. Well made ice cream. Most flavors are bold & not hinted at or subtle. Wonderful staff.
Adam Rapp
Stopped by for dessert while walking around, and after following their protocols to meet with CDC guidelines, we ended up with delicious fresh made high quality ice cream. Highly recommend!
giselle adorno
Best ice cream shop ever. Provides vegan/lactose free options. Always new flavors using local fruits when available.
Michael Rosen
This is a tiny spot on Palmer Square that has limited indoor seating and one bench outside. The house-made ice creams and sorbets are superb, high-quality, and creative; I travel all the way from Philadelphia to get my fix. With over a dozen flavors available at anytime, it can be overwhelming. However, the efficient, helpful staff will give you free tastes to help you choose. Try something inventive like grapefruit-lavendar or go with basic chocolate; you can't go wrong. My favorite is the chocolate sorbet which is just like ice cream ... really! Additional things to know: In the evening, there is usually a line out the door. Fear not. The line moves quickly. Bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. If someone in your group doesn't like ice cream or sorbet (!), this place also offers cupcakes and cookies.
Louis Miller
Ice cream was very good. We were both happy with our flavors. They tried their best to protect takeway patrons from coronavirus. Without the current craziness, they might get a fifth star.
Gerson Julio
The best ice cream in the area. Also the slowest service in any ice cream shop I have ever been. It's pointless to have an excellent product if you cannot serve your clients in a timely fashion. Please improve that.
Adam Kelch
apple and banana cream flavors are smackin
Jonathan Halcomb
We arrived here only 20 minutes before closing, but never felt rushed. The kind (and hard-working!) staff of four even offered to let us stay beyond closing, to continue our conversation while they cleaned and readied to go home.
I should mention the Chocolate Orange ice cream was terrific.
Shehzad Mirza
Not your regular ice cream place. Don't expect to the regular vanilla, strawberry or chocolate. They have very unique flavors that you typically will not find any where. Highly recommend it if you want to try different seasonal flavors.
K X
Delicious icecream we’ve been going for years. They have a curbside setup now.
Kyle Mastro
When one approaches bent spoon its obvious that this is a great place, if only from the massive line out the door. This place makes the best cupcakes Ice ever tasted, when I tried them for the first time at the recommendation of my wife, I literally became weak in the knees. The gelato and sorbet is also really good, as they constantly have fresh, interesting seasonal flavors.
Alex F
Really good ice cream. They always have interesting flavors using a lot of local ingredients. The flavors constantly change. It's a cash only establishment and the place is tiny inside. The line is also pretty long so be patient. It's well worth it.
Cassie Biniukow
DELICIOUS! My husband and I love The Bent Spoon and will drive 40 minutes each way to get their ice cream, so we knew we wanted to share our love of their delicious ice cream with our guests. Our guests loved it! My bowl of their cinnamon flavor was the only dish I completed in its entirety during my wedding; I refused to not eat it!
Riley Hoyt
Easily some of the best ice cream in Jersey! Super friendly staff. Try the weird flavors, they're wonderful
Noël Zucchero McCormick
Everything about The Bent Spoon is amazing. The small family atmosphere, the cupcakes, the cookies, the hot chocolate, and the ice cream. Their artisan ice creams are unique but all delicious. They have several flavors ranging from regular vanilla to NJ basil ice cream. They have all Jersey grown organic ingredients, and are truly proud of their products; as they should be. Seasonally they also serve hot chocolate which I would compare to like dying and going to a thick chocolaty heaven. If you're in Princeton, it's a must go!
Amy Rosina
Best!! Fresh and delicious. Love the fruity sorbets. Anything chocolate is *really* chocolatey 👍👍👍👍. The cupcakes are buttery and pleasing with the pastel icing. When I'm trying to avoid sugar I can still get that banana thing. I adore this place! …
Pooja
Must try the Alphonso sorbet at bent spoon! Amazing place for all flavoured ice creams and chocolate milk shake for chocolate lovers. One of my frnd had ordered a grapefruit flavour(coz she was fascinated by it's color) this was the only flavor that none of us liked......rest of them were great!
Sarah C
It's a crowded and small store in the heart of Palmer Square, and I always come here no matter what my friends say! The ice cream is very creamy and not too overly sweet. The smallest cup is around $4, but it comes with two scoops. This way, you can try two flavors at once.
David Nickerson
Eating at the Bent Spoon is a life changing experience. The flavors are straight forward, but remotely made. Every flavor of ice creams and sorbets are delicious. It is quite simply the best ice cream any one in my family has ever eaten. Every time that we are driving near Princeton, my family stops at the Bent Spoon. It is definitely worth a side trip.
Dino Ha.
In my opinion, one of, if not the best ice cream in NJ. The ingredients used here can be noticed in the taste and quality of the product. Highly recommended.
Brian Hasenkamp
This is one of our go-to dessert spots. Be prepared to wait on hot summer nights. Beyond the fantastic ice cream are some tasty treats from the bakery. Great, one-of-a-kind, local shop!
Richard Lehman
Ice cream is fantastic. The best I have ever eaten. Period. My faves are cardamom ginger (which they don't make so often, or at least not lately), summer corn, mint nib, and of course vanilla!!
BUT...major complaint. They do not have nutritional information available. Very unprofessional and a little rude. Fat content? Calories? Nothing exotic, just the basics. I know, if I am eating ice cream I have abandoned any concern for nutrition. But still. I was in the store yesterday and they would not even give me a verbal approximation.
Dustin Tarditi
Great artisan ice cream - this place transcends traditional chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry! Bring cash, as they do not accept credit cards. The Bent Spoon is not terribly large inside, so seating is at a premium, but there are many benches outside to enjoy the park. Parking is tricky, but this area is very nice to stroll around.
Gosuke Nakamura
high quality ice cream gelato and cupcakes. During the summer time good to have their milk shakes also. But it is pricey for ice cream. Regardless of price, I prefer this place to other places in Princeton due to its quality.
A. Teacup
Amazingly delicious home-made vegan sorbets? Yes, please. I've sampled 3 different flavors over 2 visits, and I don't think I could choose an absolute favorite, they're all fantastic. I had a peach one, with cinnamon...just wow. And the dark chocolate is SO decadent. The coffee flavor mixed with the dark chocolate was yuuuummmmmy! The "small" size is two scoops in a little cup, which is great. (On peach day, I was in the mood for double-peach, haha!) Great place!
David Pikulin
Great unique ice cream flavors.
Arpit
This is one of my favorite ice cream places in New Jersey. They make some of the best ice cream and sorbets. it's also conveniently located by Palmer Square where you can take ice cream and walk around I highly recommend a coconut ice cream it's to die for.
Isabella Guhl-Erdie
Fav ice cream place in Princeton! I love how they are adding new vegan toppings (hot fudge woohoo)! We come here at least once a week, and during the summer it can be more ... CASH ONLY, but worth every penny! 😋😋 …
Brianna Devine
Literally the best ice cream in Princeton, with emphasis on fresh, organic, local produce. The lavender mascarpone is the best! The menu is always different based on what produce they acquire, so I make it a point to stop in once and a while to see what's new.
Esha Chopra
This place was amazing!! I got a scoop of Lavender Marscapone and a flavor Banana and it was so good. It was not overwhelmingly sweet and the flavors were so delicate but delicious. It was on the pricey side but it is in Princeton so I was not surprised.
Kenji Yamamoto
Very popular local ice cream shop! Line was out door! Take 10 minutes to get service, but ice cream was very good. I think Jeni's is better, but here has good flavor too!
Dina Rizk
Absolutely delicious, high quality ice cream. Tried two different flavors. I can't remember the exact combinations, but I believe one was lavender and cardamom. Very unique!
M.J. Byrne
Would give them 100 stars if I could.
Miranda Kay
Chocolate Earl Grey was SO rich and chocolately with a perfumey tea flavor.
Bananas and cream tasted like the perfect, creamy banana. Everyone I interacted with was kind, quick, and helpful
Vladimir Tsybulskiy
Great ice cream! Try mascarpone with pistachios
Bruce Hampton
The icecream here is good quality and they have some pretty unique flavors. It's a tad on the pricy side but worth the visit if you are in the neighborhood.
Charles Heckscher
A really world-class ice cream place - even our gourmet friends from New York City are impressed. Some of the flavors, like the cinnamon-chocolatey one, knock your socks off; they're all interesting, and continually changing. The servers are enthusiastic and sometimes funny.
Rachel Antonio
The Bent Spoon is a must try when you are in Princeton. They are so unique with their flavors. I bet you haven't tasted anything like it. The servings are small and just the right size. Their ice cream really packs a punch. Occasionally they make it up to Manhattan with a small ice cream stand but there's nothing like visiting the original shop.
A K
Great icecream. However, some options that I wish to see are lacking.
Holly Barber
I first experienced the magic of The Bent Spoon as a college student taking summer courses at Westminster Choir College. I’d walk into town in the humid afternoon after classes and stop for a refreshing spoon soda (their mango sorbet is AMAZING for this) before heading to the bus stop to ride home to my aunt and uncle’s house, where I was staying while I took my classes. Fifteen years later, I stopped back in on a windy Wednesday evening, snow piled high on the sidewalk, to discover that it has lost none of its wonder or deliciousness over the years. It’s still tiny, jam-packed, and bursting with love and deliciously inventive flavors and hand-lettered signs. If you are in Princeton, go go go go go. You will love it.
Goni Halevi
the obviously superior ice cream shop in town, with rotating flavors that are often quirky and always delicious— never disappointing even though my expectations are always high
Katherine Salzar
Amazing flavors and quality! Love that they also have a vegan selection. My favorite ice cream spot in the area.
Kevin Brown-Goebeler
Good but not as good as in the past. The mocha tasted little of coffee and the "chocolate" chunks were tasteless. Banana was still very good.
Jenna Harwood
This is some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The flavors are so creative and interesting and everything tastes amazing.
Christopher Downie
I only tried this place because someone wrote a review that they had the best Hot Chocolate on Planet Earth. So after ordering a classic hot chocolate with toasted honey marshmallows I 💯 agee its the best on planet🌎 …
Rachel Trischetta
If you're willing to pay $5 (cash only) for two different flavors of some of the best gelato you'll ever have, go to the Bent Spoon! I dream about their basil, chocolate habañero, and blueberry mascarpone flavors. They're great, there's a lot of variety, and the employees are very friendly and helpful!
Michael Fechtmann
Great ice cream, baked goods, and staff. I always make it a point to visit the Bent Spoon when I'm in or near Princeton.
Iliana Arenas
The girls were so slow, 30min for an ice cream. Not too much flavors where we could pick, but also the taste was not amazing.
Lourdes Torres
Amazing ice cream with some delicious and unique flavors!!
Jonathan Ratner
Sweet corn ice cream is amazing.
Davy K
Innovative flavors and pretty sweet! Fond of smell of lavender.
Vinita Badani
Who knew there can be a better vanilla icecream too, until i visited here ! Love it !
Kailee Leung
the ice cream is good and the people are always sweet
Yasin Koc
Amazing ice-cream. Vegan chocolate and blueberry walnut crisp are definitely worth trying.
Katharine Johnson
Not for the vanilla lovers of the world (although you might occasionally find Madagascar vanilla on their menu), the rotating flavors are exquisite and non-traditional. Try the Lavender Marscarpone if it's available! Don't let the line scare you away. It's always like that and moves quickly. Tiny space inside. Not much room to sit. Go enjoy Palmer Square while you eat.
AnnMarie Gervasio
This place has the best flavors and they have really adopted to Covid. You can order online and pick up. I love tasting all their seasonal creations.
Nan
Their lavender mascapone and sweet corn are amazing flavors. They also have other really interesting seasonal variations. Gelato quality can't be beat. Definitely a must-stop- by if you're in the area. Comparable or better than Philadelphia's Capogiro's!
T J Elliott
Better than ever with revamped interior. A treasure in Princeton
Adithya Rajagopalan
Best ice cream in Princeton. Incredible hot chocolate as well - with marshmallows. Can get very crowded though particularly in the summer months.
Dr. Natasha Chase
Excellent ice cream and unique flavor choices! LOVE this place. I just moved to the Lawrenceville/Princeton area and it's definitely the new go-to ice cream spot!
Amaar Quadri
