This place is the bomb!! I ask for one scoop on a waffle cone, and that thing comes out looking like the Leaning Tower of Pisa!!! Amazing…I can barely eat it all!! They have many delicious flavors, my fave is the banana cream pie, and my hubby likes the tin lizzy and the salty caramel truffle!! Never disappointed when we go there! The only complaint I have is that when you go to their website to view the flavors so you can get an idea of what you might want, the flavors that they actually DO HAVE are no where near what’s listed online. PLEASE update your menu online. It’s slightly disheartening to get excited about several ice cream flavors you want to try, then get there only to find none of them on the menu! Otherwise, give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!!

First time here really enjoyed my experience. First friendly Service from the start, even being very busy smiles everywhere from Staff to everyone outside.. My Son n I got the extra thick Milkshakes. Mine was Strawberry 🍓 an Banana 🍌 mixed... Than I added another moster which was Chocolate.. One of my Sons was a Blue Monster other was a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.. Yes it took a few days to enjoy an was Worth it!! We decided this is our number one spot for Shakes or Ice cream..

If you have not tried this ice cream. . . Your in for a real treat. One thing though. The place is so popular that a line to the road is common. I've found that calling in my order gets my order out to me quickly.

We have become huge fans of Handles! Price is just as much if not cheaper at times then DQ or Ritters. Standing lines outside & minimal parking is likely. So we usually go when it's not too busy or order through doordash when it is. They've been open year round. Theres chunks of yummy goodness in every bite! Highly reccomend the pie flavors, as they have bites of crust & taste just like(sometimes better) than the real thing!

Love this place! We are glad to have this in Greenwood! The ice cream was delicious and they have a wide variety of different flavors. My wife and I split a four scoop sampler so we could try several kinds. The Ore-dough was great as was the Buckeye! Only complaint would be the parking situation as most of the parking was in the rear of the building and it made it difficult to find a place to park when busy.

Ice cream is hand packed with a huge selection. The people that work there are friendly, fast and very helpful, it’s very refreshing to see all that with a smile today. We go there a minimum of once a week most of the time twice. We drive by 3 other places to get there. The serving size is great. I recommend this to everyone.

This is some of the best ice cream you can find. Grew up on the original from Youngstown Ohio and we were belated that it came here to Greenwood. They make it fresh in house daily. You can’t find a bad flavor, they’re all delicious.

For how busy this place gets the line moves very fast! I usually order the mixers which are similar to blizzards from Dairy Queen and they hit the spot! My girlfriend and I come here when we want an extra treat once in awhile. This is quality homemade ice cream.

Great ice cream, but not sure on prices since first time there. Worker didn't say how much they were. Receipt didn't say, just gave total. The Salty Carmel Truffle was great! Loved it! Will go back even though I felt rushed through my order.

There are so many flavors to choose from! The ice cream is really good. They have a lot of toppings and several other options besides ice cream cones. The employee was nice and the wait wasn't long. Parking is kind of limited. There's a few spots up front and a few more around back. There's handicap parking as well. It's definitely worth the wait for a parking spot and the wait in line.

Our go to ice cream spot! You can order “one scoop” or a “small” and find yourself with more ice cream than you could ever want in one sitting. Their flavors are delicious, and they rotate for the season which is fun.

Wow. Such good ice cream, and it's not at all expensive! I tried the raspberry with hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherries. Amazing. Don't be scared by the long lines, they hustle at this place. Definitely worth the (not as bad as you think) wait. Every time I go it's worthy.

The ice cream at Handels is fantastic, and I can mostly say the same for the customer service. However, during one visit I was "greeted" by a young employee who appeared to be wishing she was anywhere else but at work. Everyone can have a bad day, and this was an isolated incident. Back to the good stuff, the ice cream doesn't skimp on ingredients and is some of the best I have had in the city. Their website doesn't always list all available flavors so you might benefit from placing any orders in person or over the phone.

This place is a delight. There’s a nice variety of flavors, a friendly staff, and the ice cream itself is delicious (little tip a scoop of blueberry cobbler and cake batter is a personal fave). Even while it’s busy you don’t have to wait long either. My biggest issue honestly is the size of the lot around it. Sometimes the lot is pretty packed and it can be hard to navigate around their small lot. If you can find a spot though I’d definitely say it’s worth it

It was good ice cream. Certainly didn't live up to the hype I was expecting. Everyone told me it was so magically good, the best ice cream they've ever had, but I didn't have this experience. Don't get me wrong, it was good. I've definitely had better though. The reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is not because it didn't live up to the hype. I tried to logically compare their ice cream and prices to other nearby specialty ice cream joints in greenwood and 4 stars is what I concluded upon. I think they're just slightly overpriced as compared to others in the area, so would I recommend it? Sure it's definitely not bad ice cream. Would I go there above others? Eh, probably not. I'd definitely say people need to try it for themselves though, they might have a different experience than me.

We have been to this location a few times. We first tried it on their soft opening. The ice cream is oh so good!!! Their prices are good. The 4 scoop sampler is great to try different flavors. Last night I had the apple dumpling and oh my!!!! It was so good! I'll be sad when it goes away. We've got to make it back in before it goes away. I love that thing!!!! Everyone has been very nice. They just need a drive-thru and an inside sitting area.

Great ice cream and choices. The parking could be better, but we've always made it work. Same for seating, but a bench usually opens up by the time we're ready. Long lines in the warm months can be deceiving, as they move everyone through quite quickly!

Great ice cream place! Very clean and friendly staff. I love all the flavors and options but I do wish they would turn their freezers down, homemade ice cream is supposed to be on the firmer side. This ice cream is so soft that it melts before you can eat it. I usually take it home and freeze it more.

It's HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! It's delicious, creamy and their scoops are served VERY HEALTHY IN a cone or cup! Prices are similar, if not lower than similar places that serve ice cream around that area. I highly doubt those places sell homemade ice cream! I can't believe I've lived in the Southside over 21 years and noticed this great ice cream shop! Best ice cream I’ve ever had and I eat at a lot of ice cream shops! I go here multiple times when in Indy visiting family! This time the favorite was Rocky Mocha Blast and the Chocoholic Peanut Butter! The ice cream is stuffed with the toppings they list for that flavor, not just a little bit or only the flavoring so that is the best part about their ice cream!

All I can say about Handel's is wow amazing homemade ice cream. Fantastic Sunday's would recommend a turtle sundae or their Banana Split is out of this world all fresh quality toppings no ice cream is made fresh daily. If you're not try this place I highly recommend it you will not be disappointed

We are not from the area, but were in the area looking for a sweet treat when we came across this place. If you ever get the chance, stop and get the blueberry cobbler. You won't regret it. Prices were reasonable too! It's the best ice cream we have ever had and will definitely make the hour drive (one way) to have it again.

Always amazing ice cream. My only criticism is that on certain ice creams like Lemon Bar, Blueberry Cobbler, and Key Lime the flavoring is very very mild and leaves me feeling like they need to be stronger. Not sure if this is by design but I feel some of the other flavors come off way stronger.

Going to be a long summer for this place. I hope they can hire more people. Have more windows they can serve customers. People leaving because the line is 20 deep. The current line is a safety hazard due to it extending out in the parking lot. Probably would see if other Handel's have a better safety measure such as a roped- off line like movie theater's. Believe Carmel has such a model. Also keeps people from walking up and jumping the line.

It was my birthday we joined in a long line behind apps 30 people or more. Home made ice cream worth the wait. The line actually moved pretty quickly. I had a pistachio ice cream cone and my daughter had a turtle sundae. The only suggestion I would make is to look up online their menu you won't be able to see it until you get to the window. It has to be really good or iI wouldn't have given 5 stars.

Better than Ritters, Dairy Queen and Culver’s ice cream BY FAR. I like Graeter's. BUT. Handel’s ice cream is superior than any ice cream I’ve had. Just is. The first time I tried them last week. I instantly knew it was the best ice cream I’ve had. And I’ve had almost all ice cream. The best butter pecan I’ve ever had! As the kids say now a days “No Cap” meaning no lie lol.

The ice cream is more like a pudding it doesn't have that hard texture to it and it melts super fast so then you eating soup especially in the summer time. I'm sure the fishers location can help you out with this. The banana ice cream tasted more like vanilla.

I am an ice cream lover and Handel's is hands down my favorite ice cream of all time! This is real ice cream with a plethora of unique and fresh made flavors with a bounty of mix-ins! Blueberry Cobbler has to be my favorite! They also rotate in different flavors with the seasons! We were regulars of the Fishers location and now that they have also come to Greenwood, we bring all of our friends and family to try it out! To top it off, they always seem to employ friendly staff and have I think 6 windows open when things are busy to expedite the process. 5 stars. Forever and always.

I am an ice cream afficiando and I rate this place four stars. It’s detrimental to a girl”s figure but is so good. It reminds me of gelato I’ve had in Europe and since I can’t travel there right now, Handels on 135 in Greenwood is a great substitute. I love “Spouse in the House”. This was our first time visiting. I got 1 scoop of pecan pralines in a chocolate waffle cone and it was awesome! She got a chocolate milkshake, she said it tasted off but it was fine to me. Handel's is a mandatory stop for me from now on.
