The legendary home of the “Dilly Bar! The Dilly bar was created here in 1955. This was one of the first Dairy Queen restaurants in the franchise and remains one of the oldest. The owners have always been an important part of the community. That legacy continues today through the philanthropic generosity of Troy and Diane DeLeon. Included in the photos I posted, are Troy and Diane being recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern Plains Chapter as the “Philanthropists of the Year” at the 2022 National Philanthropy Day in Fargo.

Came here for the trains (tracks right next door)
and for the world's largest "Dilly bar" roadside attraction.
Just a walk-by location (not done-in) with lots of dairy queen novelty options, including some that you don't see anywhere else.
And souvenirs to buy , too!
So glad I got there before the bus tour as within a couple minutes, there were 60 people in line!
Fun to visit! Wish more Dairy Queens had fun giant frozen treats outside their stores :)

I gave 3 stars for the staff as the were so nice and friendly. Food not so much. I paid almost $10 for a Chicken sandwich and got 2 tenders on a bun.

This is the DQ where the Dilly Bar was invented. They've erected a "statue" of a giant Dilly Bar to commemorate that feat. And they sell Dilly Bars in many different flavors.

This is a super cool dairy Queen if you’re not familiar with it, they make their own ice cream treats in house. Always fun to stop here with friends they don’t have a huge selection of food so don’t come planning on normal Dairy Queen menu. But they do have a couple food options mainly just an ice cream shop. They also have different events during the summer and give out free ice cream!

We're spoiled to have the original DQ near our home! It's a special and unique experience w/ a yesteryear flare. Lots of options not available at other DQs, but no burgers (I'm totally okay w/ that). Quick service, spacious outdoor seating area, and adequate parking. A tremendous spot to take your kids or grandkids! And it you get Riley as your server, you'll get 6-star service w/ a smile 😁

Dairy Queen (Treat) at 24 S 8th St, Moorhead MN is worth the drive and a special stop! The 1949 DQ contract, offers freedom re-create a large variety of official, and many long ago favorite treats. The Dilly Bar was invented here. Troy and Diane DeLeon are enjoying the 26th year and serve a “sweet” experience to one and all!

Loved this place! You can never go wrong with DQ, but an original location is even better. Fast service even with the long line. Definitely will return if I'm ever back in town.

How can you not stop where the Dilly bar was invented?! Good Dairy Queen with nostalgia and cool items for sale. Worth the pit stop off the interstate.

Fun fact: home to the world's largest dilly bar! The daily specials were fantastic, and the staff was friendly. Our food was served hot and fresh!
