This place is full of candy and cute toys and loyal people. And it seems to have friendly staff. However - as much as I absolutely adore supporting local ice cream places this one is only for those of us without dietary restrictions. When we asked which of their ice cream was gluten free the attendants were both very nice. But they said they’d never heard of it. So we thanked them and left. If you like ice cream please go and keep up the local ice cream tradition. I can’t in good conscious rate people who don’t mark the nut free, dairy free and gluten free ice cream and also keep the scoops separated. It’s important for so many reasons. Maybe they see this and change it up and next season they’ll have something new to offer the rest of us. That said - the place is packed and everyone is fantastic. It’s clearly a great place just not for anyone who requires dietary restrictions.

Quirky little place that offers ice cream scoops, sundae’s, slushies, milkshakes, floats, cookies and a ton of candy. We tried 2 different flavors of ice cream and really enjoyed them! Peanut Butter Caramel Cookie Dough was delicious and so was Buckeyelicious. Prices are cheap! The staff was friendly. Its a small space, not a lot of room to move around so it can get cramped in there with several people. They have a couple tables to sit inside. Will be back to try more ice cream flavors.

I discovered them over 30+ years ago I worked next door to them and had lunch there daily my kids would come to my job often and they would go over an stock up on candy and I've cream. This place was awesome! Like walking back in time. Prices can't be beat, they even have a penny candy section. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can tell the place is old and can use some freshening up. But overall I loved it and so did the kids

I remember when Clown Cones opened almost 50 years ago and it’s still owned by the same owner! I haven’t been back in years, but when my grandson asked for “blue” ice cream, I knew where I would take him. Good customer service, great ice cream selection, and reasonable prices. Clown Cones is reminiscent of the old-fashioned corner ice cream and candy shop we used to go to years ago as kids.

I remember my grandma walking us to clown cone when we’d visit her from out of state. When we moved to Ohio, it was a place we would visit frequently. I remember Mark and his mother were amazing people and greeted my grandmother as though she was a close friend. I used to take all of my kids here as well. We moved out of state so it been years since we’ve gotten to go. I remember they had the BEST drumsticks and Malts. The candy section was so incredible and perfect. I’ll definitely have to make a trip to Ohio soon because I’m craving some good ice cream. I’m happy to know that this place is still open.

We absolutely love Clown Cone. I grew up visiting on a regular basis as I lived in the neighborhood. I now live on the other side of town and still make the drive to bring my younger children as well as grandchildren to enjoy the Clown Cone experience. My kids love it here they still have individual pieces of candy like the old penny candy days. ( 5, 10 , 15 cents each) The variety of hand dipped ice cream is a hidden treasure. The food as usual was amazing !! The clown dolls/ puppets etc. are fun to look at & they always have rare nick nacks & trinkets you would not find at your typical store. They also have excellent customer service. This is a place everyone in the family will enjoy. We had three generations with our last visit and everyone found something they liked. Lastly the prices are terrific!! We had 8 people some had food & milkshakes other double scoop cones and only spent 28 bucks!!

I'm admittedly here way too much😅 this place has been around since I was a kid. They have DELICIOUS soft, creamy, homemade icecream of all flavors, and the kind of candy I would see growing up in the 90s! It's a great place to go feel like a kid again AND I can get 2 scoops in a waffle cone multiplied by 4 kids and myself with candy too for under $10.

Let me just say we were absolutely delighted with out trip to this ice cream shop! The ice cream is delicious!!! Creamy, smooth milkshakes and flavorful slushies! Not to mention the prices are very inexpensive! They also have food- remember those little Mexican style pizzas they used to serve in elementary school??? They have them!!! Wow! And the selection of candies is very extensive! We will most certainly tell others about the hidden gem we found the other day!

Haven't been here for a few years now since I moved to Pittsburgh but I remember going to this place when I was a kid and it was my favorite place to get ice cream and a pizza. My mom would tell me about how she would go to clown cone as a child as well. Always great service, the staff has always been very nice and I would love to stop through next time I'm in Columbus. When it comes to taking your kids out for a fun lunch you can't go wrong with clown cone.

It may be tucked back into the Northern Lights mall, but its a great place to go. The ice cream is great, and its always a popular spot to go. The loads of candy for cheaper prices is great and it makes it fun. The affordability makes it a great local ice cream shop, and while it could use more seating outside, its still worth the experience.

I wish I had known this was here for all the years I lived nearby. Small shop selling old fashioned style ice cream and candy. When we went, the store was packed, but we didn't wait longer than 5 minutes to be served. If you want a seat, good luck as there isn't much sitting room, but that's no big deal as there are so many things to look at in the shop.

Only allowed a handful in at a time with masks & provided hand sanitizer at the door for everyone. Same great service, ssme great options, same great prices, less crowd inside! You can get your things quicker! We did have to wait a bit outside to get in but, by the time we left, there was no line so, it can go quickly. We went around 6pm Friday and closing time was 8pm but, we were in & out in less than 25mins total. ALWAYS WORTH IT!!! And we usually spend at least 15mins inside pre-COVID because there is so much to look at & choose from lol!

The clowns hanging from the ceiling are interesting. I assumed the ice cream would be homemade, actually it's Velvet (which isn't bad, but isn't Graeter's) Felt a bit of nostalgia viewing the candy selection, hadn't seen some of the candies since I was a child. It was an okay experience although not what I expected. ( Picture the candy store scene from Willy Wonka) I did notice something that disturbed me a bit. There was a guy in an extremely filthy gray hooded sweatshirt behind the counter. Thank God he wasn't serving anyone.

Waits aren't usually long unless you come in during the weekend (starting with friday afternoon). Favorite place to see clown figurines and talk about the history of Clown Cone. THIS PLACE DOES CATERING IF YOU CHOOSE A CANDY BUFFET FOR WEDDINGS AND EVENTS! Staff are always helpful and friendly. There aren't many complaints from anyone who is used to actually going here.
