Me and my cousin went for some ice cream/dessert. The place is very cozy and well lit. Ambience is good and the staff is also very accommodating. We tasted some ice cream and the staff patiently gave us the taste samples. Finally my cousin decided on ‘Cheeky Cheesecake’ milkshake and I wanted to try different and took Hot chocolate and it was very rich in taste. Normally other stores dump lot of sugar in the hot chocolate and make it very sweet. But, the chocolate here was rich and tasty. Will definitely visit again.

This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The texture is so creamy and the flavors are fresh, refreshing and enticing. You enter the creamery surrounded by the smell of waffle cones and you are just intoxicated and numb to decide between the unique flavors, rose lavender, granny Smith apple, brownie and praline, french vanilla, bourbon. The ice cream flavors will rotate. They also make their own Chai tea concentrate and ice coffee concentrate that you can take home and enjoy. Everyone needs to get a sweet treat from this awesome company.

Super nice staff. They let you taste before buying. Dairy free sorbet for those like me that can't have dairy; not overly sweet like some other sorbets. My granddaughter enjoyed her vanilla milkshake.

I was a ‘bad boy’ and succumbed to some great ice cream that I usually try to avoid. Sweet Cream has great homemade ice cream. This cone was maple walnut on top and brown sugar bourbon on bottom. I’ll wait about 6 months for my next fix as I want to keep my petite shape!!! lol

Best ice cream in all of South Carolina by far. Every week they have different flavors and I have never ever had one that I did not love. They really outdo themselves with their customer service as well. Staff is very friendly and they never rush you. The place is always packed because of how good the ice cream is. The cinnamon brown sugar flavor is the best one when they have it. Also, the serving size is huuuuge. Two scoops = full meal

This place is amazing!! His wife makes up the flavors and he makes them!! Everytime we go in it’s something different. You can taste all of them before you decide. Homemade ice cream definitely worth the price. Always get the double scoop because I can never decide on just one flavor. When hubby and I go on a date night I insist he take me here after! We visited Sweet Cream Co. as we were passing through downtown Columbia while on our way to North Carolina. This is a nice little ice cream shop with unique flavors. My wife tried the Fluffernutter and the scoops were huge. The ice cream had good flavor and a nice thick texture. They also have ice cream cookie sandwiches. We weren’t quite adventurous enough to try the banana curry ice cream, but if you are looking for a place with out of the box flavors, definitely give this little place a try.

Store was very clean and adhered to the current social distancing standards. Staff was attentive and the ice cream was delicious. We got the blueberry basil ice cream and cookie sandwich that had peanut butter ice cream and jelly. Will be back to try more flavors!!

Sweet Cream was good. Bunch of standard flavors, good quality ice cream. Though, what would have made it better was if they had an option for 2 half scoops to be 1 full scoop. Some places do, some don't, so it's not all bad. But I prefer places that do because you can have a variety. They tend to add heaping scoops of ice cream anyway, so it's like you're adding 1.5 to 2 scoops to a tiny cup. Why not cut half of what you're scooping out and make it a half scoop? That's my only complaint. Otherwise, nice little ice cream shop downtown.

this place is truly amazing - coming from someone who doesn't care for ice cream but is married to, well... an ice cream "snob" hehe. the vibe is laid back, inviting & is "user friendly" - i feel like i'm overwhelmed with menus from similar shops. the employees are very passionate & accommodating! my husband mentioned the ice cream sandwich of the month (peanut butter and jelly, yum!) so i knew i had to get some - despite the fact that i was making an hour long trip home... these sweet folks hooked me up with four sandwiches and even gave me an ice pack for my bag! so lovely & sweet - very appropriately named!

A cozy ice cream and coffee shop that makes awesome product. There's many coffee options, from the normal hot coffee to cold brew concentrate to beans that are aged in a whiskey barrel. But I came for the ice cream. The options seem seasonal, with options like Clove (it was really unique and delicious, not harsh at all). I got a scoop of Sugar Cookie with Praline and a scoop of Gingerbread Cheesecake with caramel, which were both decadent and high quality ice cream. The gingerbread flavor was the best of the ones I tried, but all were great.

This has become my favorite place for ice cream. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but the ice cream and sorbet is some of the best I've had in a long time. I've had a lot of the flavors and loved them all, but if the White Chocolate Raspberry Almond or the Goat Cheese Agave Walnut is on the menu I'm grabbing a pint or two. The cookie sandwiches are also amazing, I try to get one every month.

YUM! Sweet cream has THE best ice cream. I love a good authentic ice cream shop with ice cream actually made in shop. The staff was as sweet as the ice cream and let us try the flavors before deciding. My husband got the brown sugar bourbon and I got the oatmeal raisin and dark chocolate. Not only was the flavor top notch, but the texture was unique, and the ice cream didn’t even begin to melt until 30 minutes later, which meant we could eat it slow and enjoy every bite. No ice cream soup or licking the drips before they fall on you! It was magic.

So although the flavors were ALL rather bizarre it was a cute place. Staff is "ok". Not really the most kid friendly place and its an ice cream shop (weird). 💁 Clean & quaint with indoor seating and a couple park benches on the sidewalk. It'd be really nice if they had a handful of regular flavored ice creams. They only have 1 style of cone...and it's waffle. A little pricey too.

Unlike most people, I got their tea. It was really good. I asked for two different flavors and the workers kindly mixed them for me and it turned out delicious. My wife and sister each for double scoops of coffee and vanilla. They enjoyed them. My favorite of the two was coffee. Outdoor seating is a must, only three tables inside and it can feel really packed if the line to order is long.

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had! I got the dark chocolate, and my girlfriend got the green apple and espresso ice creams. I was impressed with with all 3 flavors! The chocolate was solid, the green apple was an interesting flavor that I didn't expect to work, but it did. The coffee ice cream was very good too. A perfect end to a long day out.

The only bad thing about Sweet Cream is that it’s ruined other ice cream for us. Super high quality ice cream with unique flavor options. My fiancé and I love Sweet Cream so much we’re having it served at our wedding, it’s pretty much the only thing that tempts us for dessert. We go often and the service is always wonderful, both the owners and staff are kind, friendly, and patient. The Trail Mix ice cream they had recently surprised me and is somehow one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten (Sweet Cream if you see this please work Trail Mix into your rotation I ❤️ it so much).

Sweet Cream consistently delivers seasonally inspired ice cream and sorbets that push the boundaries of flavor combinations in surprising and (usually) successful ways. This summer, sweet corn ice cream is on the menu and is what you want to be thinking about while you nap in the hammock after Sunday dinner. If you'd like something a little traditional, try the banana pudding ice cream. This shop fastidiously followed masking protocols throughout the pandemic and is still exceedingly careful. It was a relief to have somewhere safe to take my son for an after school treat.

Cute ice cream shop. They serve coffee and ice cream. Don’t ask them if they serve affogato (espresso over ice cream) because that’s a weird question to them and they will laugh at you BEFORE you pay them and exit the store. Odd customer service model of you like making tips. Otherwise the coffee toffee ice cream was pretty yummy though lacking on the toffee side.

I think the owner said they'd been around almost ten years but don't quote me on that. I did a mixture of different flavors for my double scoop cups. Smooth ice cream and flavor wasn't too strong. I always look forward to seeing a new flavor on their menu but can say any of the ice cream you try will be incredibly good. Their artisan sodas are yummy and unique, too. Located on the main street, it is easy to find. Looking forward to the next time I visit!

Columbia is famously hot, but I only dream of a single place when the sun is blazing: Sweet Cream Company. To ink my praise would never suffice to describe the beauty, the glory, and the unadulterated joy that comes from trying a new flavor. Not even Shakespeare could render by sonnet and verse what these ice cream masters create with cream, candyfloss, and locally sourced ingredients. Hemingway and Steinbeck can offer no more perfect art than two scoops in a cone; Lord Byron's poems wither in comparison to flavors like German Chocolate Cake while the stories of Updike, Oates, and Atwood give less succor than a fresh scoop of Black Currant or Lemon Sorbet... Listen close and take my words to heart: when the sun is high or spirits are low, take yourself to Sweet Cream where dreams are written in 16 ice-cold flavors and let their frozen poetry clad in waffle cones sing to you. It really is that good.

An excellent stop for all. The ice cream is rich and creamy, the selection is plentiful, and the service fantastic. For myself, I like to judge places like this based on the vanilla ice cream that is served. Everyone that has had ice cream has had vanilla at some point. The quality of vanilla ice cream can vary greatly though. The Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream was by far one of the best I have had. If you don't know what a good vanilla ice cream should taste like, then you should take a moment and come here. Only then will you realize how great of a gap there is in other vanilla ice creams and the one that is offered here.

Really good local creamery. They have very unique flavors and they continue to change out so there's always something new to try. I had the peach cobbler and blueberry basil - was delicious. Great location too right on Main Street, they were in need of a good ice cream place! Only thing was.. they don't have toppings. I'm kind of a toppings person. But they want everything to be natural and locally made.. so I can't complain about that I suppose.

Y'all...this is THE BEST coffee shop in South Carolina!! The ice cream is super delicious too!! Great little ice cream shop downtown. They've got very imaginative flavors alongside more conventional choices, and everything is delicious. They have coffee drinks and shakes, too. Sweet Cream is owned and run by a local couple who clearly take a lot of pride in their product. Very good over all, occasionally they will go overboard with some wild flavor, but they do allow you to try before you buy a full scoop. Based on that policy I have never had a bad scoop there. The shop is always concocting up new flavors. Very creamy ice cream, I would say that it's almost chewy. Easily the best ice cream in town, with no need for fancy gimmicks or additives. Delish.

The cutest little shop I've been in for some time. The second I stepped foot in the door I was greeted. There were 4 ppl ahead of me but I was waited on very quickly. Three of the nicest young ladies assisted me with a milkshake and two large coffees to go. They made my order quickly and made sure it was packaged securely so I could easily transport back to the hospital. The milkshake was so amazing. It wasn't simply a milkshake, it was dessert in a cup with a straw. The suggested Tanzanian coffee flavor was more than perfect! The ONLY reason for the four stars instead of five was the price. My order cost $15. I put $2 in the tip jar because they deserved it. So one shake, two coffees = $17 Almost $6 each. In my opinion that was expensive and something I will have to consider a treat because I could not do that often. They were really good though! Staff was awesome!! 💯 Add note-not to any fault if store or staff but parking was a nightmare that also cost $0.50

Stopped here after the Zoo with my daughter and grandchildren. Nice little place right in downtown with some very interesting flavors of ice cream and sorbet. I had Lemon Blackberry Thyme Sorbet which was really delicious and refreshing. My 4 year old granddaughter had the Banana Curry flavored ice cream and loved it. Highly recommend this little oasis of refreshment.

Sometimes it is good, and sometimes it is really good. It all depends on what they make that day. Of course, that is my opinion, and taste buds, which is why I give 4, not 5 stars. Which sort of puts me in the minority among friends as most give 5 stars. The store is always clean when I've been in, and the decor is nice. As it is on Main St., parking may be difficult at times. But if you like good, fresh, creative new ice creams, you will want to try Sweet Cream!

What can I say other than it's the best in South Carolina! It's not your typical ice cream spot because they do have some eclectic flavors but the care that they take in crafting it shows. I've had flavors like sweet roasted corn, honey lemon ginger sorbet, orange thyme sorbet, and etc. But the best is the banana pudding. They usually sell out of it in an hour or less. I always take anyone from out of town here so that they can experience it.

As a long-time visitor of gentrified, high-end ice cream establishments on the west coast and elsewhere, I will say this is the most gentrified ice cream shop I've ever been it. I enjoyed my ice cream for the first few bites (candied orange time in marscapone, though the find tasted bitter after a while), but expected more variety, and not to have to eat with a wooden spoon, which ruins flavor. I usually get cones to avoid spoons and waste, but I also expect there not to be a charge for "waffle" cones that are really just sugar cones (and clearly not made in the shop).

I've been to sweet cream several times and love the ice cream. My boyfriend complains it's not sweet enough, but I think it's just right and not too sweet. We would go more often, but the hours are not convenient. I also bring my own plastic spoon because they serve their ice cream with little wooden spoons. Overall great ice cream but please please please stay open later so more people can enjoy it.

Excited about the interesting flavors offered on the website, we came on a Saturday evening around 8, and they were already out of nearly half their flavors! Also, despite the Google description, they did not serve cake, only ice cream, coffee, and "artisanal soda". We were greeted by a delicious baked smell when we walked in, however, and when I asked, one of the employees said it was probably the waffle cones or cookies baking in the back. We pointed out the limited ice cream choices, but no one really addressed that or tried to help us pick out alternatives--instead quietly standing there while we figured out what we wanted and then mechanically handing over samples. The ice cream was good, even though chocolate isn't as interesting as blueberry French toast or lemon poppyseed, but I agree with previous complaints about service. It definitely could have been delivered at least with some smiles and more happy, friendly, outgoing demeanors--what one expects when they go to an ice cream shop. Also, I did notice the sign in the freezer window indicating samples were only for purchasing customers and did think for a second about how likely we would want any of the remaining available flavors. I can appreciate the need for a small business to limit samples, but maybe there's a more tactful way to get the message across. I wonder if they've had a problem with customers getting lots of samples without purchasing anything at all.

Guy tells me it's been his wife and him for about a year and a half. I scan the chalkboard menu and order a boring chocolate milkshake, telling him I'd never heard of the place, despite having taken my share of walks down Main. He asks if I'm killing time before the 8:00 at the Nickelodeon next door, and I surprise myself telling him the truth: I'm waiting for the bars to open. I walked around downtown with that milkshake. Awesome delicious creamy DIFFERENT ice cream. Banana curry was creamy, with a hint of spice. Espresso cream was a family favorite. White mint chip- 7 &9 yr old gave it a 12 out of 10! Rose and dark chocolate was my favorite.

Litterly the best ice cream I ever had, Their spiced apple and homemade cones, 😍 It's not too sweet or heavy and their cones are soft and crunchy I wish I could eat this ice cream every day The customer service is AMAZING super nice and they let you try flavors before buying!
